With over 50+ followers I felt guilty not to write anything else. It's funny you get lazy for a minute and then my best friend reminded me on discord that somewhere out there in this world is a person screaming "GOD DAMN IT UPDATE MADALEINE!" And you know that makes me feel guilty and so I write instead of sleeping LOL
I have stretched some of Laxus's power and intelligence possibly? But I didn't feel like Laxus would share. Also I'm just assuming Laxus is just super smart. He's still an asshole after all right now. So I tried to do my best of what I think he would have done and his way of coming up with the solution while keeping the episode cannon as possible. I also want to remind people, I originally wrote this with Laxus being unsure of doing his take over plan. Bickslow said in one episode, "so we're finally doing it?" Which lead me to think Laxus may have been unsure and finally broke when the Phantom Lord incident happened. Going from here on out I decided to continue this story but when I wrote this chapter originally I hadn't planned on going further than the arc itself. Y'all probably don't care but I wanted to disclose that right away. There will be a further author's note at the bottom!
Action!
Laxus looked at the villagers and Team Natsu. "I'm going to destroy the moon." His coat was billowing behind him in the islands summer breeze. Laxus smirked at seeing Lucy, Ice Freak, and the cat panic. Natsu looked ecstatic and bummed...he wanted to destroy the moon. Laxus had been thinking through the problem here and finally it was starting to make sense. "Didn't you say we CAN'T destroy the moon!?" Gray said trying to throw Laxus's words back in his own face. Laxus ignored Gray. "We're going to destroy the moon and return everyone to normal." The villagers looked shocked but excited. They cheered when the shock wore off though.
"They're really gonna do it and we get to watch it happen." A woman cried holding her child close, their foreheads touching.
"We can finally go back to normal!" A man with horns and scales roared.
"Where are you going to do this!?" Natsu yelled running over to Laxus. He was pumped for this. He was only slightly upset he couldn't help but the opportunity to see Laxus go full out was exciting to the young mage. "I'll do it from right here. Besides, the villagers can't get near the ruins. And they need to witness this." He said with a straight face. He took off his coat and threw it to the ground. He walked over a large podium that stood like a look out over the villages giant wooden walls.
"Destroy the moon? I mean don't get me wrong Laxus is super powerful but still-" Gray said unsure of the whole thing.
"What is he planning on doing?" Lucy asked Gray.
"This is exciting! Gets your heart racing, huh?" Happy said in slight awe hanging on to Lucy.
"For various other reasons sure...like terror." Lucy said to Happy.
The Chief looked up at Laxus. He was hopeful, finally Bobo's death would not be in vain. He would not have to lose another beloved child he had seen grow up over the years he had been the chief. He sob internally thinking of Bobo. If only that could bring Bobo back...
"Laxus what are you going to do?" Lucy asked running over to Laxus. Laxus had been thinking about it. He suspected that when the Moon Drip ceremony was being performed, it released a gas, in nature crystallization can happen when atoms or molecules of something become highly organized into a structure known as a crystal. Some of the ways by which crystals are formed are by a precipitation from a solution, freezing, or more rarely deposition directly from a gas. Attributes of the resulting crystal depend largely on factors such as temperature, air pressure, and in the case of liquid crystals, time of fluid evaporation.
He figured that various environmental factors came into play and created a crystal structure over the island? It was his guess he was going to wing it. However breaking it was another story. Then it hit him. He had been working on a spell he called the Thunder Palace. He hadn't worked out all the kinks. The idea came to him one night when he thought about ways to take over the guild by force from his grandfather. He wasn't sure about it though. The mechanics and power that would have to go into to making that spell were Herculean. Also, well he wasn't that much of an asshole. He wanted power but he wasn't sure how far he was willing to go to get it at the moment...emphasis on at the moment. The thought had crossed his mind after all.
Laxus had the idea of a number of lightning bolts to come down in a circle around the city, maybe just the guild. It would fry everything and everyone in its path. Theoretically it would destroy all of Magnolia. The plan was dismissed because of the fact he would have a serious magic drain, and no power left to take over. It was too risky. He would need something else to hold his magic like a lacrima...ooo that was an idea. Yeah lacrima filled with large amounts of Lightning Magic and suspended in the air in a circular formation...mentally he jot that down to think about. When all of the orbs are released at once, everything below and above their circle is struck by powerful lightning bolts equivalent to the number of lacrima orbs but how would he keep it from being destroyed?
He shook his head he needed to make sure it was doable first before he went any further. And again, if his grandfather would just train him when he got back, this would all be unnecessary. He then decided to go a different route of doing it here but still hd the same basic idea.
"I'm going to destroy the moon with my lightning." He said making his way over to a podium. Lucy gawked for a moment.
'Give me a break, that's never going to work.' Thought Gray and Lucy. Happy just looked confused, 'isn't the moon higher up in the sky? Can lightning go upwards?'
"He doesn't really think he can pull this off right?" Gray whispered to Lucy.
"Well I think he's totally gone off the deep end!" Lucy said in a derisive manner. He may be hot but he was sure as hell crazy.
Laxus stood up on a podium. He held his hand in the air. Laxus looked up at the purple moon. Dark storm clouds began to surround the village. He closed his eyes, allowing his magic to spark all over his body. Lightning was coming down all over the village. Lucy looked up in awe and terror. 'This was freaking cool!' She held her hands to her face as the wind started to pick up. She vaguely remembered her skirt, and tried to hold it down. A lightning bolt came a little too close for her comfort after that and she screamed as she smelled the scent of burnt hair in the air. She was about to go tell Laxus off when she saw he was glowing. She gasped, in a way if you over looked him being such a jerk, he looked like a angel up there on that tower. Then all of a sudden it looked like a giant blast of light came up from the ground. Lucy screamed as she saw what looked like a wall of light barrel towards the sky it dispersed in a circle all going towards the sky, with one major bolt going straight at the moon.
"He did it!?" Happy and Natsu exclaimed.
"This is not good!" Gray mumble. 'If the moon was destroyed how would life go on? Didn't sailors and the oceans require the moon? Holy fuck! What would the Magic Council do to them if they destroyed the moon! Was this really a good idea?' Lucy stared at Laxus in shock. 'He really was powerful! But still it couldn't hit the moon right?' The light being produced by his lightning was bright it hurt Lucy's eyes. She gasped as she saw the main blast collide with what looked like the moon. The rest of the lightning bolts seem to surround the village in a circle crashing into the sky. Cracks started to form in moon and splintered outward across the sky. The villagers gasped, more than just the moon was breaking. "No way!" Lucy whispered.
"Did Laxus really just crack the moon?" Gray said in astonishment. Lucy and Gray watched as the sky above cracked until making a giant hole. Laxus saw a bit of the real night sky and moon peak through. Laxus nodded, so he was right? Satisfaction filled his bones. He loved it when he was right. Flecks of the crystal were floating down like star dust all over the villagers and the mages.
"It wasn't the moon that shattered it was the sky?" Lucy asked confused.
The villagers were confused. They sky and moon remained but what was all this purple stuff? Natsu howled in frustration. "What the heck is going on!?" He demanded. Laxus used his magic to teleport off the tower. He was tired but he wasn't going to show that to them. The mental concentration to cast a spell like that was exhausting in a way. He had to picture in his head where he wanted each bolt to go. Lucy watched him transformed into a giant lightning bolt and zoom around the clearing. When he touched the ground he looked up at the mages. Lucy held her breath. Laxus had his hands in his pants pockets. He walked calmly over as the purple crystal dust fell all around him like stars falling. He looked really cool and she hated it. 'He is a jerk! He doesn't need to look any cooler and more attractive!'
"As a result of the spell a noxious membrane was created covering the island."
"What?" Natsu asked confused.
Laxus sighed shaking his head. "Remember how I said reading could help you be less dumb? This is one of those moments-"
"Hey!"
Laxus electrocuted Natsu. Natsu crumbled to the ground. "Silence! What happened is that the Moon Drip crystalized over the island. It released energy in the form of a gas. That gas crystalized and formed a thin shell in the sky. That's why the moon looked purple here and not at let's say the guild hall."
'Ah there you go,' Lucy thought, 'he's a jerk again, and not cool...'
"Wow Laxus that was really brilliant. How did you know that was what happened though. That the energy was released in the form of a gas?" Lucy asked genuinely curious. Laxus turned away, he was not going to admit it was a guess. "I'm just that good." Is all he said. Lucy raised an eyebrow. 'Ok be like that.' She thought. She looked around, suddenly the villagers were glowing. They all were screaming too. 'That can not be good!'
"What's happening to the villagers?" She asked in alarm. Happy clung to Lucy's shoulder.
"Now that the shell has been broken. The villagers will return back to their normal state." Laxus stated. The glowing light surrounding the villagers stopped, they also stopped screaming. "Wait! They aren't going back to being humans-" Gray exclaimed. 'Fuck did we not save the villagers?' He thought. "Oh no!" Happy whispered holding on to Lucy. Lucy held her hands up to her face. Lucy looked to Laxus, 'does he also have an answer for this too?' She thought. Laxus smirked, he was curious what Blondie's reaction to all of this would be. "That's because this is their real forms." Lucy's eyes widen. "The Moon Drip didn't alter their appearance but it did seem to mess with their memories."
"Their memories?" Lucy asked. She man handled Happy with one arm. The cat went limp snuggling into her boobs again. Laxus scowled, 'stupid little cat.' his mind drifted off to a perverse day dream about Lucy smashing his own face into her boobs, moaning his name. He shook his head of that thought. The faint thought of going to a bar and getting laid crossed his mind. He could not be thinking of Blondie this much. It probably wasn't good for him. "They said they turned into demons at night, and humans by day. But that's not right. They were always demons." Happy stopped snuggling into Lucy's boobs. Lucy looked scared for a minute. "So you're saying-"
Gray held his fist in the air, "demons. Ok..." realization dawned on him."They are actually demons!?"
"You got it." Laxus said smugly.
Lucy screamed pushing Happy further in her boobs. Laxus watched how they flattened against her slightly. "You're going to kill me Lucy!" Happy croaked. He couldn't breathe. Again Laxus couldn't help but be jealous slightly. His mind told him it was because Lucy was the only chick on this island. Any woman looks like a ten and it was easy to get carried away by that when that's the case right? The sense of pleasure he got from thinking about Lucy moaning his name earlier made him question that though. He shook his head again. He watched Happy pull himself free of Lucy's grip and tumble in the air towards Natsu.
"The villagers have always been demons." Natsu and Happy screamed.
"What the heck!" Lucy held her head, 'oh God! That hurt processing!' She was freaking out. 'What if they eat us? Or sacrifice us to some demon lord god?' She mentally was smacking herself. The villagers hadn't done anything to show that they would do that. But that didn't stop her mind from jumping to conclusions! Gray went running around the village until he grabbed the first villager he could find. He grabbed one by its tunic. He had red scales and horns on the side of it's head with large fangs jutting out of his mouth. "Is that true?" Gray demanded.
"Well maybe," the male villager said, "now that he mentioned it...it's all still a bit fuzzy though. We all looked pretty human when you met us didn't we?" He asked genuinely confused as well. Gray growled that was not helpful at the moment.
Laxus sighed again. "Yes. You looked like humans when we met. My guess is that you have the ability to transform into humans. You must be able to practice a small amount of transformation magic. Your false memories tricked you into thinking that your temporary states were your true forms. In reality you were just demons who had fallen victim to the Moon Drip's spell side effects." He didn't think it was that complicated. "Hold on," Lucy said. Laxus turned to look at her. She was on her knees. "How come Lyon and the other's weren't affected?"
"Because they are humans." Laxus stated simply. "It looks like only the demons were affected by the Moon Drip spell. I figured it out that you were demons when you guys said you couldn't go near the temple. When we were younger and Mira was still practicing, depending on the Demon Take Over she would use, she couldn't get near land or objects that were considered sacred. The temple collected moon light, therefore it was sacred, and nothing considered a dark creature could go near it."
"You're quite the detective!" A male voice called out behind Laxus. Laxus looked behind him. A creature was emerging from the shadows. "I knew I could trust you and your friends!" Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and Happy turned around. They all screamed, Laxus winced, that hurt his ears. "Thanks wizards!" The demon said waving. He was tall with spots and horns on his head. And dressed in loose fitting pants and a tunic. A cloak also covered his shoulders. "I owe you one!" Lucy screamed even louder. Happy was clutching on to Lucy now again. Laxus was honestly confused. He was a demon they needed to get over it.
"You're the guy from the boat!" Gray screamed! "I thought you were dead!"
Natsu looked stunned. Laxus's eyes widen so that's why they were freaking out. Ghost demon...freaky if that was the case. The Chief was wheezing. Tears were rolling down his face. "Bo...Bobo..."
A villager with green fur began speaking. "Huh? But you were...!"
"Wha-?"
Bobo laughed. "Getting stabbed in the chest hurt like Hell. But you gotta do more than that to kill a demon." He said holding his chest. Laxus raised an eyebrow, 'good to know...' Bobo was laughing. "But on the boat you vanished!" Gray whispered. Lucy was still holding on to Happy who didn't seem to mind being smashed against her chest anymore. Bobo gave them a look, then smiled. He bent his knees as if he were going to jump. Then the sound of wings flapping was heard. Lucy and Happy screamed again. Team Natsu all looked up as Bobo jumped into the sky gliding in the islands breeze. Bobo's laughing could be heard. "Sorry I couldn't tell you the truth then!" He said honestly. "He can fly?" Gray asked dumbfounded.
"I left the island because I was the only one left whose memory hadn't been altered! Everyone else went nuts! I knew I wasn't a demon! But no one believed me! As I said earlier...I was stabbed over it!" He laughed again. It was funny then but super messed up at the time. He was just glad everything was back to normal! He was smiling in the air, his fangs glittered in the moons now non purple light. "I can't believe you all thought you were human!"
The Chief was blubbering now. He couldn't believe it, his son was home! "Bobo..." He whispered. His son! His son was home...With tears in his eyes he leapt into the sky. His wings carried him up all the way to the top. "BOBO!" He cried arms outstretched. He collided into his son giving him the biggest hug he could. Bobo smiled. His voice was thick, "looks like you're finally yourself again, Pop!" The villagers awed, some were crying, but everyone was definitely happy. The villagers all leapt into the sky, happy to be normal again.
"You're alive!"
"You're alive, Bobo!"
"We've got Bobo back!"
"Hurray!"
"Alright!"
Lucy watched, her fear slowly melting away. Her heart was filled with joy. Bobo really wasn't dead! She marveled at the turn of events. This truly was a S-Class mission. And she was so thankful for being able to be a part of it. Even if it meant getting kicked out this reunion. This. This was everything. Everything she ever wanted to do. Happy was snuggled against her looking up at the sky.
"Yep." Laxus said, "they are definitely demons." Gray smiled at that. "I don't know. Look at everyone's faces," the Fairy Tail mages all turned to look at Natsu. "If anything, they look more like angels than demons." Gray and Lucy nodded in agreement. The moon shined down upon their figures. They looked awesome in the moonlight. The personification of joy.
"My son is alive!" the Chief cried again. Lucy smiled she saw his coat on the ground and carefully picked it up. She looked to Laxus, he looked down at her. "Thanks Laxus." She whispered handing over his jacket. Laxus looked away coughing but took the jacket back.
"Let's have a feast tonight to celebrate!" The Chief declared.
"It will be an all out demon party!"
Lucy looked nervous, Laxus chuckled. "What's wrong Blondie?" Lucy laughed nervously, "I don't know if I'm rowdy enough to party with demons. That sounds really...intense..." Happy snuggled against Lucy again. "Me either!"
And then...
Fish and various fruits adorned tables. So did other grilled meats and vegetables Lucy could not identify. Chatter could be heard all around various tables. Lucy was laughing at Natsu who was playing with his food. But his food was fire so it was highly entertaining. Lucy also watched Gray get dragged by the girls in the village. "Well look at Gray being all smooth and taking all the ladies."
Laxus looked over and raised his eyebrow. That was something he never thought he would see Gray being a ladies man. In his mind he still couldn't see past him being a little kid and well not a 17 year old. "I didn't know he could be such ladies man. Then again maybe I shouldn't be surprised."
Laxus jerked a bit. "Blondie don't tell me you find that attractive." He said gesturing to Gray learning the Demon Wiggle-Waggle. Lucy giggled turning red, Laxus tensed. "Well I think a man willing to learn how to dance is quite attractive and a man who can dance is even better." She thought about all the dances that she danced at where her dance partner would step on her toes in shoes that were already painful. "And if he's willing to make a fool out himself every once in a while that's attractive as well." She said defensively. "You can't take life too seriously right?"
Happy eyed the two mages unsure of what was happening. "Well it's Gray. He's not that smooth. He'll mess it up eventually."
Laxus and Lucy were both going to say something but the Chief cut them off. "We were wrong! All these years we never opened up our island and hide from the outside world because we felt inferior about the way we looked. People tormented us before for being demons when we just wanted peace." He said looking down cast. "You know the curse? That was a rumor we made to keep people off the island." Bobo explained.
Lucy chuckled, "well it worked. We couldn't find a ship to take us. We were lucky to have found you Bobo. Or this guy over here would have fried us!" She said pointing to Laxus, laughing. Laxus gave her a side eye. "We're not that comfortable with one another yet Blondie for you to be making jokes like that." Lucy stiffened making a face. She sweated nervously watching him smirk into his cup. 'Was he messing with me or was he?'
"I know," the Chief said. "And it's a shame. But after meeting you, we've changed our minds. You've restored our faith in humans. We're now ready to go out and befriend other humans and meet people from other guilds."
Lucy clapped her hands. "That's good! Talking like this is proof that it's possible to understand one another! Regardless of what you look like!" Laxus looked at Lucy, he wished he could share her excitement and hope about things. He didn't think that was possible, humanity was trash in his opinion and power was all that mattered. A small smile was on his lips though seeing her interact with the other villagers. He was stunned when he took a sip of his drink. "Oi! What did you put in this?"
"You like?" Bobo asked. Laxus nodded, it was good. He could detect spices, saffron, and vanilla and orange. He took another sip was that pineapple and black pepper?
"It's a special rum we make here on this island." Bobo said smiling. Laxus nodded. "We mixed it with mango juice and a ginger beer we get imported." Laxus nodded. 'This was pretty damn good.'
Sherry and Yuka were walking quietly into the camp, how they got past the tall walls of the village was a mystery. The villagers were all having a grand time talking and laughing when they heard the two mages foot steps.
"Uh-oh!" The demon from earlier that Gray harassed said into his cup. Everyone turned around, scared. Finally, the Fairy Tail mages saw there was commotion at the front of the camp and turned to see what was going on.
"It's the Cold Emperors minions!" Someone hissed.
Gray stood protectively over the women he was standing near. "What do we do Gray?" One asked scared. The villagers were wary of them Yuka and Sherry, and at this point didn't know if they had come down there to destroy their village again or what.
"I'll handle this don't worry." Gray said squinting, his voice taking on a more deadly tone.
Lucy looked confused, her brow furrowed. Happy sat next to her a fish hung half way out of his mouth. Laxus looked over at Natsu, who stopped eating. Laxus rolled his eyes at the fire mage who stared at the other two mages confused.
"And how can we help you?" Laxus drawled.
"You Fairies are tough. Cold Emperor Lyon is incapacitated at the moment, because of you." Yuka said smiling. Laxus wasn't sure if it was the eyebrows or the smug tone but he didn't like the punk.
"So we've come for him instead." Sherry said softly. Laxus vaguely remembered the chick it was the same girl Lucy fought. Laxus turned around when heard Lucy's boots making noises from the dirt. "Hold on! Haven't you heard? We and Lyon have-"
"Yes." Yuka said. "That makes no difference to us." Yuka said.
"Yes. We wanted to settle things for ourselves." Sherry said.
Laxus glared at the mages. 'This wasn't good. All I wanted was to drink in peace.' He vaguely remembered he would have to pick up a bottle of this rum because it was pretty damn good. Natsu perked up at Sherry's words. He got up and ran towards everyone else. "Alright why don't you show me what you got?"
"Wait Natsu!" Bobo said getting up. "Thanks for the help but we can't keep relying on you forever!" Bobo's usual cheeriness was all gone. Several other villagers got up.
"He's right! We got these clowns!"
"This is our village! We need to protect it ourselves!"
Laxus shook his head. This was going to get messy if these mages decided to push things. He growled, he hated being the responsible one. "I would normally agree with you all- but maybe I should handle this." He was sparking all over. "Surely dumb mages like yourselves wouldn't come here and start a fight-"
"So we meet again Laxus Dreyar." Sherry said softly interrupting him. "You gave poor Angelica a beating."
"He does seem like a formidable opponent." Yuka mused.
Laxus sized them up. "Watch out for that creepy chick! She can control inanimate objects!" Lucy cried.
"And don't even bother wasting your magic on old mega brows Laxus he can neutralize it."
Laxus nodded. "Well we can easily make a grave for them right here in camp." Lightning was sparking all around Laxus. The rocks and trees were shaking from the magical power surrounding him. He ran at them and made a fist, it collided with Sherry's face. Lucy's eyes widen that was going to leave a bruise. Yuka looked scared as Laxus's fist came down on his face as well. Lucy gaped at Laxus. So did the rest of the village.
"Whoa-" Natsu said.
"He didn't have to use any magic." Lucy said biting her fist. 'And this guy was suppose to punish them?'
"That's the GREAT Laxus for ya!" Happy said cheerfully.
Natsu looked at his cat like he was insane. Lucy rolled her eyes. "Would you cut that out?"
Sherry struggled to get up. She halfway rolled over, "you truly are a amazing opponent." Yuka groaned getting up. "Who were we kidding," he croaked. "You guys were too much for us." Sherry smiled nervously at Laxus. Lucy's looked between them. "Wait! So you're not here to attack us?"
"I doubt this will atone for what we did. But Laxus said to the Cold Emperor that we were no better than Deliora- and you were right." Yuka and Sherry looked down at the ground sad. "We wanted to apologize in person to the villagers and to you mages."
Happy gasped in realization. "So that's what you meant by settling things yourselves! You came to settle things in a good way!"
Sherry nodded. "The Cold Emperor told us everything! And thanks to you, we've been freed of our hatred for Deliora and you have no idea what that means to us. I can let go finally of him killing my family and siblings." She said quietly.
Gray was shocked and a bit emotional. "You mean you're victims of Deliora too?"
Yuka nodded. "When we were younger the demon destroyed our towns. I watched it murder all my friends and family. That's why I- I mean we all followed Lyon."
"The Cold Emperor had a plan to kill it once and for all." Sherry said crying.
"But that doesn't excuse us for hurting you all. It wasn't right for us to do what we did."
Lucy started to cry a bit, Laxus looked at her. Lucy couldn't help it though even though Toby told her and Laxus earlier about why they followed him, she was sad for these mages. They had their families also ripped away by Deliora.
"Our hatred for Deliora nearly made us as bad as Deliora himself. From now on we'll treat everyone with respect and love." Sherry said.
ALRIGHTY THEN!" Natsu screamed and pounced on the two mages. Satisfied with their apology."You guys should stick around and eat with us!"
"But we were enemies a second ago!" Yuka exclaimed surprised.
Sherry made a face. "Oh I really shouldn't! I'm on a diet and I'm trying to watch my figure!"
"Oh don't be like Lucy-"
"Hey watching your figure is completely valid! I'm trying to lose weight!" Lucy said annoyed. Laxus looked at her, "what weight?" He asked leering at her butt and thighs. "It's all good from what I can see." Lucy screamed and tried to cover herself. Laxus laughed. "Blondie if you wanted to not be stared at, you shouldn't wear just a skimpy pink top and a short skirt." Lucy looked down at her outfit and blushed. "I had a shirt it was ruined when I fought Sherry."
Sherry smiled weakly, "yeah sorry about that!"
Lucy looked at the other girl and smiled. "It's alright. At least I have something covering the um girls." Sherry laughed. "Right? I don't know how you survived all of this-"
"Let's just say I'll be wearing more practical clothes on missions from now on."
The girls giggled.
"Enough of the chatter! Let's party!" Natsu said dragging over Yuka and Sherry. Natsu quickly shoved food and drinks into their hands. The two mages looked uncomfortable. "Alright! Now I'm ready to party!"
AN: So I had to break this up because I had this chapter at 10k words. I figured y'all would hate me for that. I mean 10k words is super long even for me LOL It's all written up though. I gotta look over it make sure I'm happy with it and then this episode would be done with and I get to do one of my favorite episodes, where everyone switches bodies! I really hope there isn't too many errors in this...
