Harvey And The Twins

One day, Harvey had finished putting a derailed truck back onto the rails. "Good thing that I have this crane," Harvey said to no one in particular.

"Thank you," said Mikan, the tank engine who had been pulling the train when the truck derailed, "Now I can continue on with my job."

"Well, take care," Harvey reminded his friend. So Mikan successfully pulled away with the trucks with no further incidents.

Later, Harvey returned to his sheds for a rest while his crew went on their break. "Ah," sighed Harvey, "What a lovely day to relax." 2 hours later, the Fat Controller came to see him. "That felt great," said Harvey, "Oh, sir." "Harvey," the Fat Controller said, "I want you to go to the rock quarry."

"Right there with you, sir," Harvey sir, "Uh, for what?" "I need you to help Bill and Ben with an important job," the Fat Controller explained. "Yes, sir," replied Harvey.

"Also, there's a new steam shovel working today," the Fat Controller continued on, "So help him, too." "Right," Harvey said as he set off.

Soon, Harvey arrived at the rock quarry. In front of him stood Bill and Ben, looking really mischievous. "Look!" peeped Ben. "What is it?" asked Bill. "Is it an engine?" asked Ben. "Or a crane?" asked Bill.

"Come on, you cheeky imps," smiled Harvey, "Guess right." "Crane?" asked Bill. "Some kind of truck?" asked Ben. "Ugh, never mind," said Harvey, disappointed.

He left to find the new steam shovel. Harvey heard the sound of a machine working. "It must be the steam shovel," thought Harvey. Harvey eventually found the steam shovel. It was digging up a wall and dumping it into a dump truck.

"Uh, hi!" Harvey called out. "Oh," the steam shovel replied, "I there." "I've heard that you're new here," said Harvey. "Right," the steam shovel replied. "Oh," called Bill, "I see that you've met the newbie." "Right," agreed Harvey.

"My name is Hardworker," the steam shovel introduced himself, "As you can guess by my name, I am a hard worker." "More like a hard slacker," giggled Ben. "Ignore them," said Hardworker. "So I was sent here for an important job," said Harvey, "Which is?" "We need to have these trucks loaded with rock as fast as possible," Hardworker said.

"Right!" agreed Harvey, "I'll get my loading claw." So Harvey and Hardworker set to work together to load the trucks of quarry rock. But Bill and Ben decided to play tricks on the two. "Ha ha!" laughed Bill, "Who's got the crane?"

"Ugh," groaned Harvey. "Watch where you're going!" Bill teased Hardworker, "When you're not working!" He laughed as he puffed away. "Troublemakers," groaned Hardworker. The two continued on working.

Harvey shunted a train of rocks into a siding. "There," sighed Harvey. "Yeah there you don't go!" teased Ben. "Oh, you!" groaned Harvey. Ben puffed off, laughing. But then, Ben ended up running into Bill. The two hit each other, causing them to derail. "Uh oh," groaned Bill. "This is bad," said Ben. Harvey puffed up to the two.

"Hmm," thought Harvey, "Well, I could change back into my hook now, but that will take time. So you'll have to wait." "Oh dear," groaned Bill. Harvey decided to finish his job of loading another set of trucks with more rock. Hardworked helped too. The two loaded even more trucks with rocks.

Hours passed and finally, Harvey finished loading the last truck of rocks. "There," smiled Hardworker, "The job is done." "Right," agreed Harvey.

Other engines including Henry, Murdoch, Hank, Satsuki and Hiro arrived to pull all of the trucks loaded with rocks away. "Now you can do your regular job," Hardworker said to Harvey. "Right," agreed Harvey.

He switched back into his crane hook and he placed Bill and Ben back on the rails. "Well, now what will happen next?" asked Harvey. "We're sorry for giving you two so much trouble," said Bill.

"Well," said Hardworker, "At least the job is done. Thanks to you two in the in end." "Yeah," agreed Ben. "We'll try to be more respectful in the future." "I bet you will," said the quarrymaster, "You know what you're going to do all day tomorrow since today, you've never done any work."

"Right," agreed Ben, "Help Whiff and Scruff at the dumps." "Good," smiled the quarrymaster, "And Harvey, thanks for helping our new arrival, Hardworker today." "You're welcome," smiled Harvey. Nightfall came and Harvey steamed back to his shed, thinking about being really useful today.
