Percy Saves The Day

It just happened that the railway on the Island of Sodor is usually full of surprises. One day, Percy was pulling a line of clay trucks out of a siding at the quarry. "Come on, you stupid trucks!" Percy groaned. "No way!" the trucks giggled, "We don't want to go with a dumb engine like you!"

Percy felt insulted by what the trucks said. The trucks giggled. "Ha ha!" they laughed, "You can't make us obey you!" "How about this?" Percy asked and he blew his whistle loudly at the trucks.

The trucks were distracted by this loud noise, thus allowing Percy set off with his train. With the naughty trucks distracted, Percy was able to carry on with his work. "That's more like it," Percy thought to himself.

Soon enough, Percy came across Sara. "Morning, Sara," Percy whistled. "Good morning, Percy," Sarah said. On her flatbed, there was a little engine. "Good morning, little engine," Percy said to the engine, "Uh."

"Sorry," Sara said, "Go ahead and introduce yourself." "My name is Charlina," the little engine said with a smile. "Hello, Charlina," Percy said to the little engine, "So you're going to the Arlesdale Railway, right?" "Yes, I am," Charlina said with a smile.

"Oh, good for you," Percy said, "Well, see you two later." Percy continued on. Soon enough, Percy arrived back at the quarry after he had made his delivery. "Ok," Percy said, "Now what?"

Soon, Bill and Ben puffed up to Percy. Both were very cheeky indeed. "Oh look," Bill said. "Oh brother," Percy said. "Look who is here," Ben said, "Who?" "It's Percy!" Bill said. "I've been here since this morning, Percy said. "We know," Bill laughed. "But we've forgotten that!" Ben said out loud.

"OH no," Percy said as Bill and Ben teased Percy. "Stop!" a voice shouted. It was Edward. "Enough!" Edward said, "Percy is here to help. He has been helping us all morning! Now stop playing forgetting games!" "Ok," Bill said as the twins left. "Just ignore them, Percy," Edward said.

"I'll try," Percy replied. And so, Percy and Edward carried on with their jobs. Nonetheless, Bill and Ben continued to tease Percy for most of the time. But Percy just ignored them. "I am going to stick to that Edward told me," Percy said to himself.

Later, Percy was puffing along the valley with Bill and Ben, pulling a long empty train. The twins continued to tease Percy, but he just ignored them. Finally, Ben had enough with Percy ignoring them. "Are you going to answer?" Ben asked loudly, "Or are you just going to stay silent?" Percy just ignore him, but not for long.

"What are you going to do about it?" Bill asked loudly. This time, Percy was going to say something. But then, Percy heard a strange sound "A mudslide," Percy thought. "I said what are you going to do about it?" Bill asked even louder, only to have Percy whistle loudly at him and Ben.

"Shut up, you two!" Percy shouted at the twins. "Oh, that," Ben said. "I mean it!" Percy shouted, "We're in trouble!" "Of course," Bill said until they heard a loud noise. "Percy?" his driver asked, concerned.

"There is a giant mudslide to our right!" Percy shouted, "And now, it's getting close to us!" "What?" Ben asked. He is right as a giant mudslide was heading towards them. "Oh no!" Ben cried. "We'll be mudded!" Bill shouted.

"Not if I can help it!" Percy shouted and he shunted Bill and Ben out of the way. But Percy couldn't get away in time and he got hit by the giant mudslide. "Oh no!" Ben cried, "Percy!" The twins turned on a loop and faced the place where Percy had been a few seconds ago.

Finally, after a few minutes, the mudslide settled down. "Percy!" Bill shouted, "Oh no! This is our fault!" "We shouldn't have been idiots!" Ben cried, "This is terrible! Terrible!" "Percy!" Bill cried, "If you can hear us, we're sorry!" Both Bill and Ben started to cry.

"We won't tease you again!" Ben cried. "Ok, that's what I need to hear," Percy said. "Listen," Ben sobbed, "We can hear Percy from heaven. A little soul."

"Uh, Ben," Percy said, "Look to your right." "Huh?" Ben replied. He did and he saw Percy. "You're all right," Ben said. "We were worried about you," Bill said. "No kidding," Percy said, "And that's not a tease."

Percy wasn't badly damaged, but he is stuck in the mud pool. "We'll get help," Bill said, "Stay there." "I wasn't thinking about going anywhere," Percy sighed. Luckily, his crew held on tight, so they didn't get hurt. "Talk about going back to your childhood," Percy's firemen said, "Played in the mud?" the driver asked.

Bill and Ben brought Edward who had Harvey pull Percy out of the mud pool and Jack and Oliver to clean up the mud covered track. "I've heard of tidal waves," Jack said, "But mud tidal waves?"

"It's a long story," Oliver said, "Well, that's the end of these misfits." Oliver was talking about the empty trucks, which all got destroyed by the mudslide.

After Percy was rescued, he prepared to go back home to get cleaned up. "Hey, Percy," Bill said, "Sorry we've teased you." "That's okay," Percy said. "Thank you for saving us," Ben said.

"No problem," Percy smiled, "Talk about one big surprise." "Yeah," Bill said. And all three engines laughed together.
