Edward's Disco
One day, Edward was pulling a goods train to the other railway. "Well, this is peculiar," Edward thought to himself. When Edward arrived to shunt the trucks onto a siding, his firemen noticed something nearby. It gave off a red light, which was reflect from Edward's tail lamp.
"What is it?" Edward asked. His firemen jumped down to pick up what he had seen. "It's a disco ball," the firemen said. "What?" Edward asked, confused. "Are you serious, Sidney?" the driver asked. "Well," the firemen said, "It is an old disco ball after all. Let's take it home with us."
"If you say so," Edward's driver said. After the job was done, Edward returned to the Fat Controller's railway. Edward's firemen held the old disco ball in his arms. "You're seriously going to go with that thing?" Edward's driver asked. "I want to give it a try," the firemen said.
"I don't know what's going to happen," Edward said. Edward done his jobs as usual that day. But when Edward stopped work for the night, his firemen took the disco ball home with him, hung it up on the ceiling and played 70s disco music. He danced to the beat. "Well," he said as he danced in 1970s fashion, "This is actually kind of fun."
The next morning, Edward's crew started work as usual. "Let me guess," the driver said, "You've discoed yourself the whole night, right?" "Why yes, of course," the firemen said, "I can't stop the beat." "Well," the driver said, "Let's get to work. You up for the day, Edward?"
"Why of course," Edward replied. So the firemen lit Edward's fire and he was ready to go. However, he couldn't stop humming to what he had listened to. Nonetheless, Edward had done his jobs like normal that day, with the difference of his firemen humming to the beats.
Some of the passengers were surprised, but Edward's trains ran like normal that day. "It's kind of a unique experience," Edward thought to himself as he carried on with his work.
By the end of the day, Edward returned to his sheds. "That was a fun day," Edward said, "Wasn't it?" "Yes," the firemen agreed, "It is a disco day." "Well," Edward said, "Maybe it's best that we don't do things like that all the time." "Actually, that's true, Edward," the firemen agreed. Edward decided to go with that logic.
Besides, when the firemen got home that night, he found that the disco ball had broken off the ceiling and now had smashed into a lot of pieces. "Well," he sighed, "It was fun while it lasted."
