Skarloey And The Snowman

On one cold day before Christmas, the little engines on both the Arlesdale Railway and the Skarloey Railway are busy carrying passengers and goods from station to station. Every engine was busy.

On a winter day before Christmas, Skarloey was pulling a goods train alongside a small village. This is one of his favorite jobs as it is for the Christmas Season. "That's the way it is," Skarloey thought to himself. On his way, he noticed some children building something out of the snow. It looked like three snowballs stacked on to of each other.

"Look like some children are having some fun," Skarloey thought to himself as he puffed along. "Yes," Skarloey thought to himself. The job had gone very well for the little old engine as he reached his destination with no problem. After Skarloey had finished his job, he returned home.

As he passed by the same village, he got to see what the children had finished. It was a snowman. "Wow," Skarloey thought, "That looks amazing." His crew agreed with him. "I remember when I used to build snowmen's as a child," Skarloey's firemen said.

No one else said another word as Skarloey returned to the little engine shed. The other engines were already there, talking about Christmas. "I hear it's going to be wonderful," Rusty said, "As always. Yeah, that." "Yeah," said Sir Handel.

"That's the way it has always been," said Duke. "Yes, I agree," Skarloey added in. "Ok," said Rheneas. "Anyway," Peter Sam said, "Rex told me that he is pulling a special passenger train tomorrow." "That's good for him," said Rheneas. The other engines agreed. Even though Skarloey was thinking about the snowman the children had made today.

That night after the engines had fallen asleep, Skarloey had a dream. He was pulling a special passenger train when he came across the same snowman from today. "Still looks as good as ever," Skarloey thought to himself as he puffed along the line.

When Skarloey reached his destination, the passengers got off and he was uncoupled from his train. "I wonder what is going on now?" Skarloey thought to himself. And that's when something amazing happened.

The snowman that he saw earlier appeared right in front of him from right out of nowhere. "What?!" Skarloey exclaimed, "What in the rail road?! How?!" The snowman just stood there, staring at Skarloey. "What are you doing?" Skarloey asked.

A surprising thing happened next. "Do you want to play with me?" the snowman asked. "What?!" Skarloey asked, surprised, "Wha- I mean sure?" Skarloey then looked back to see his train had vanished into thin air. "Well, said Skarloey, "I'm ready to go play with you or whatever. Since I have nothing to do now."

The snowman said nothing and started to float in mid air. "What the?" Skarloey thought and then he started to float in mid-air. "What's going on?!" Skarloey asked. But then he decided to not ask any more questions and followed the magic flying snowman.

Once the snowman flew off, Skarloey followed. Somehow, the two flew high in the air above the Island of Sodor. "Holy!" Skarloey exclaimed, "I never thought the Island would look like this!" After look at the island from a high point, the two then flew back down to start exploring many places on the Island.

"Wow," Skarloey thought, "How amazing." The snowman said nothing. "So where can go first?" Skarloey asked. The snowman didn't answer. Instead, they flew to an ancient castle, only accessed by the large engines. "Wow," Skarloey thought, "I think I've seen a painting of this castle once. Well, it's a long story."

After a brief visit, the snowman moved on with Skarloey following it. They next visit a place where the Island connects to the Mainland. "Nice bridge," Skarloey commented, "A very architectural design. Only saw it once."

After that, the snowman flew to another place with Skarloey following. "I'm not a fan of flying," Skarloey said, "Harold is a master of flying."

That's when Skarloey and the snowman appeared at an unfamiliar place. "What is this?" Skarloey asked. It looked like a railway, but he didn't know which one. "This feels weird," Skarloey said as they both saw something unique. "Is that?" Skarloey asked as a little purple engine, chuffed along the railway line. It is a magic railway line.

"Thomas says that engine is Lady," Skarloey said to the snowman, "He said some of his special friends had helped her long ago. And this must be her magic railway line. Therefore, this must be the Magic Railroad! Oh, Mr. Snowman, thank you for bringing me here!" The snowman still said nothing.

Skarloey told the snowman all about how Thomas saved Lady from a monster. Well, Skarloey knew what he meant. After that, the two floated above the magic land. "This is life," Skarloey said.

By the end of the "day", Skarloey and the snowman returned to the little railway. "Thanks for the wonderful day!" Skarloey called to his new friend, "I hope to see you again soon!"

As soon as the snowman flew away, Skarloey had woke up the next morning. He knew that his magical adventure had just been a dream. "What an adventure!" Skarloey said.

As soon as it was time for the first train, Skarloey told the other engines all about his dream. "I meat a snowman!" Skarloey exclaimed, "We had an adventure!" The other engines were surprised.

"What the coal are you talking about?" Duncan asked rudely. "Well," Skarloey began, "It was all a magical adventure. No one can explain it." "Yeah, right," Duncan replied rudely, "Don't you have passengers to take care of?"

"Yes," Skarloey answered, "I'll tell you all about my dreams later!" And so, Skarloey left with Angus, Ruth, Jemima, Lucy and Beatrice.

As he passed by the same village from yesterday, he saw the snowman, smiling at him. "Thank you, special friend," Skarloey said to the snowman as he puffed along happily.
