A kick and a punch to her chest send Yang flying across the battlefield that belonged to the Jujutsu school.
Maki grinned as she stood her ground with her fists raised right across her face. She and Yang had been going at it for the past two hours and neither of them where willing to surrender just yet. On the sidelines Panda, Inumaki, Gojo, Qrow, Blake and Megumi stood and watched. Gojo being mildly entertained, Panda cheering both on and Qrow drinking.
Blake just looked on with uncertainty, her attention not exactly on the fight. Ever since arriving in this strange but beautiful new world she felt she never had a moment to breathe and take in everything that had happened. Especially the part about her former flame being part of a dangerous organization threatening all of existence and the fact Jaune had been forced to fight and slay him because of said organization.
All of it was crazy and completely illogical, yet the results where all around her. She looked around to see the new faces of the people around her, saw how Yang and Maki where involved in a vicious battle to determine who was the best, neither one willing to let the other beat them. Even being surrounded by the familiar people in her life, Blake noticed all the changes.
Jaune fathering a daughter with another, more deranged version of Weiss, and now their Weiss had to play the part of her mother as to not psychologically damage the poor girl. Ruby was distant and not her usual upbeat self and even Ren and Nora felt like they kept more to themselves than usual.
And then there was Yang, whom Blake never dared to tell her what she really felt. There was never the right time to tell her. Everything always came in between.
"You're really good!" Maki said as she caught her breath.
"Right back at you" Yang said as she smiled.
Blake couldn't look on anymore and proceeded to walk away, Yang too much absorbed into her bout of fisticuffs with Maki didn't notice Blake beginning to walk away. The Faunus girl just walked across the field back to their accommodation, taking in the sight all around her. Just a normal sunny day with the only noticeable thing that Blake noticed was an odd looking bird with big bulging eyes perched atop a nearby roof looking down on the field.
Yang was sweating as she and Maki locked hands as a sign of respect.
"You're quite something Xiao Long, haven't had a fight like that in years!" Maki said.
"Same to you that was intense!" Yang responded.
Gojo clapped happily as he approached the two "wonderful to see you two get along so well. That means the rest should be easy too. Meaning all will be fine when I leave!"
"You're going to leave Sensei Gojo?" Maki asked.
"Bonito Flakes" Inumaki said.
"Yes, yes. Me, Qrow and Megumi will actually be going on a mission to Team RWBY's home world."
"You're going to our world?" Yang asked.
"Yes, your uncle gained a message from one of the people of your world wondering about his absence since Atlas was attacked. So I figured I will join alongside them and explain everything. I do hope there is something left of Atlas though, a nice place to visit" Gojo explained while smiling, a smile that made Yang want to hit him immediately if that where in any way possible.
When she finally turned her head to the crowd she noticed Blake was gone. "Hey did anyone see where Blake is?" she asked. "Yeah Megumi is gone too" Maki pointed out.
Gojo simply shrugged his shoulders "no clue where she went off too. As for Megumi, I'm assuming he's getting his girlfriend."
The gasps filling the field where unmistakable as everyone looked at Gojo with a shocked expression, with the exception of Qrow who couldn't help but chuckle.
"Wait…Megumi has a girlfriend!" Maki yelled out surprised.
"Mustard Leaf" Inumaki said.
Gojo simply chuckled and crossed his arms as he watched in amusement at everyone's bewildering expression.
Closing the door behind her, Ruby entered her room and fumbled in her pocket. Emptying the content and placing it on her desk. It was the small glass case with the creature only known as M inside of it.
Ruby knew it was a bad idea to bring him out of that vault. He must have been there for a reason and encased like that? It was definitely suspicious and everything inside Ruby told her that this…whatever this creature was could not be trusted.
But she needed answers desperately.
She placed the small glass case on her desk and then took out her satchel with the glowing stone and placed it in front of him. M's eyes lit up as he saw it.
"Ah the Mind Stone. It is indeed a beauty to see so up close" he said.
"What do you know about it?" Ruby asked as she took a seat at her desk.
"I know that it is an object of extreme power. According to myths this stone and its ilk represent and control an essential aspect of existence. In this case the one you have before you might be the most dangerous of them all. The Mind Stone."
"What does it do?" Ruby asked again as she grabbed the stone and observed it closely.
"That I do not know exactly. What I do know is that it can influence people a lot and if misused can cause the entire collapse of civilizations. It is said to peer right into your spirit and show you you're most wanted desires. And from the looks of it you have already discovered it. Tell me dear girl? What did you see?"
Ruby's silver eyes flickered as she took her eyes of the stone and looked back at M.
"I…." Ruby stopped midsentence, unsure on how to answer that question or even if she should reveal this information to this creature to begin with.
"I…I saw my mother. She died before I could remember her."
"My most greatest condolences dear girl. To suddenly see snippets of her through the stone must have been difficult and heartbreaking" M told her in a compassionate voice.
Ruby tried her hardest to hold back her tears, not willing to cry in front of this creature. But the overwhelming emotions of finally seeing actual memories of her mother, once that seemed impossible to reach but where now available to her in a moment's notice.
"How do you know so much about it?" Ruby asked him.
M looked solemn "well that is a tragic story. You see my people, they where in danger, attacked on all sides and in my desperation I made a deal with a being from another world. One powerful enough to wield these stones."
Ruby knew exactly whom he was talking about.
"And as such I had made a grave mistake and as punishment I was captured and placed in this tiny prison for my sins and mistakes. Something I surely deserve. I was a fool for believing that someone known as the Mad Titan could be trusted, but alas here we are now aren't we."
Ruby felt her irritations bubbling under the surface. Thanos…he had caused all of this. Everything that happened to them, the place they ended up now, the growing discontent, all this pain and misery the day that Jaune mysteriously disappeared. All of this was because of him…
"Thanos ruins everything" she said sighing.
This peaked M's interest "ah so you are familiar with him as well it seems."
Ruby nodded "he is the reason we are here in this world. My uncle is in league with the guy trying to fight him."
"Your uncle you say?"
"Yes Qrow Branwen. Apparently he has been working with this Gojo guy for a while in trying to oppose Thanos."
"Ah interesting?" M said curiously as his eyes curiously looked over at the stone in front of Ruby "would you like to know more about this stone?"
With a sigh Yoru returned to consciousness, finding herself back at the table outside a restaurant with her fellow Collective members.
"And what did you learn?" Silco asked impatiently.
"That apparently the big guy is leaving to another world very soon, back to Atlas as it sounds."
Silco's impatient frown turned into a smile "this turned out better then expected. With Gojo out the way our mission has become a lot more easier. All we need to do is locate those meddling kids and we can find the lord's granddaughter."
"Why not simply attack now! We have the element of surprise, waiting even longer would be foolish" Saki told them.
"The only thing foolish here Oroku is you thinking we could actually take them on at this moment!" Silco said as he took a sip from his coffee.
"They are a bunch of worthless kids and some guy whose probably in over his head about his own capabilities" Saki said with a snarl. An annoyed Yoru just sighed "ugh boys…"
Silco placed the delicate coffee cup back on the table "I can assure you. Satoru Gojo is not in over his head. You weren't there that night, the night the Collective lost for the first time. His power is unmatched, and taking him on head on will not only lead to defeat and most likely death, but if we by some miracle should survive that, we, and more then likely you will incur the Lord Titan's wrath. So go ahead Oroku, make a move and see how well it turns out, but just know if you do you will be on your own, and I will not allow this mission to fail because of your fragile ego."
Saki snarled loudly, slamming his fist on the table "How dare you…"
"This is bad!" the Fairy Godmother suddenly said out of nowhere.
All heads at the table immediately turned to her with Silco asking "what? Are you implying that his plan is truly that atrocious."
"No I was talking about the meat here. It is revolting" she commented as she took a bite of the piece of meat in front of her. Everyone's head seemed to simultaneously hit the table in an almost comical fashion.
"That's it!" Asa said as she took over her body, the scars fading from her face "I can't take this anymore! I need some fresh air away from you all!"
She proceeded to angrily stand up from the table and walk off. But not even a few steps away in the ongoing mass of people she felt herself being suddenly pushed onto the ground with a large thud.
"I'm sorry. It's so crowded here I could barely see where I was going!" a female voice spoke. Asa saw a hand reach out to her and she grabbed it without thinking or looking properly "yeah…yeah it's fine…." She stopped in her tracks, in the corner of her eye she saw Silco stand up from the table as she now realized she had locked eyes with her sister.
Weiss Schnee was standing right in front of her. Scar over her eye, ponytail to the side and braided and staring right at her.
Blake walked through the hallways on the way to her room, she was just about ready to lay down and gather her thoughts.
Quickly almost like a shadow something bumped into her and she fell to the ground.
"HEY WATCH WHERE YOU'RE WALKING INSOLENT HUMAN!" a shout came, Blake looked up to see a girl…with red horns coming out of her head, getting up from off the floor and angrily looking at her.
"YOU DARE CROSS THE GREAT POWER AND YOU WILL…WAIT ARE THOSE CAT EARS!" she immediately went over and pulled on Blake's ears, causing her to gasp in pain and push the girl off of her.
"That hurts! Who are you?" Blake said angry and annoyed. Running came from the hallway as Megumi turned the corner and the girl immediately turned to him and it looked like her eyes turned to hearts.
"DARLING!" she screamed as she ran towards him with her arms wide open, but Megumi expectedly dodged her and extended his hand to Blake and helped her up.
"Sorry about that she's uhm…a bit of a wild one" he helped Blake up and then turned to the girl "what did I tell you about running in these hallways and tackling people" Megumi said to her.
The girl pouted and looked down "I'm sorry" she said, only for Megumi to nod towards Blake "I'm sorry I bumped into you cat lady."
"It's fine. Megumi who is she?" Blake asked.
Megumi walked over to the girl and placed his arm around her "well this is Power. She is my girlfriend."
Blake's mouth metaphorically hit the floor.
"Your what!"
