A knock on Ruby's door shook her up completely. Placing the stone back into her satchel and closing it shut before placing a nearby blanket over the glass container containing M. She ran towards the door and quickly opened it, finding herself face to face with a boy she did not recognize.
"Hey," he said softly and almost blushing "my name is Yuta. You are Qrow's niece right?" he asked.
"Uhm yeah, is something wrong?" Ruby asked curiously.
"Well no not wrong but your uncle is leaving on a mission. I thought you might want to see him off" Yuta told her. Ruby's silver eyes blinked "what a mission? Why didn't he tell us earlier?"
Yuta shrugged "sensei Gojo probably didn't want him too. Since he is going on this mission as well" he told her. Ruby groaned in annoyance, for all his supposed power and might, Gojo surely didn't endear himself to others with his sheer arrogance and ego, an ego that might possibly be very well justified but was still infuriating all the same.
Ruby followed Yuta as he lead her down to the main hall where most of the people stood, including Yang who was engaged in conversation with a green haired lady, a very energetic conversation.
"Ah hey Rubes, this is Maki one of Gojo's students. Maki this is my sister" Yang introduced her and Ruby shook Maki's hand, recoiling in pain at the powerful grip the woman firm handshake. Yeah she could see why the two would get along.
"Did uncle Qrow tell you he was leaving on a mission?" Ruby asked.
Yang raised her shoulders "nope Gojo just sprung it on us. Apparently he's joining them along with Megumi's girlfriend."
Ruby's jaw hit the floor "Megumi has a girlfriend!"
"Why is everyone so surprised at that?" the stoic ever calm voice of Megumi sounded as he walked past, the horned girl holding on tightly onto them, staring glares at everyone.
"BACK OFF HUMAN SCUM HE'S MINE!" she shouted.
"Power what did I tell you?" Megumi told her with a stern undertone. The girl huffed "be nice to the guests. But darling I just want to make sure…"
Megumi silenced her by softly placing his finger on her lips "how often do I need to reassure you. I only have eyes for you" he kissed her for reassurance, leaving everyone to look onto the scene with a look of genuine shock and surprise.
"I suppose opposites do attract" Yuta joked, causing Yang to chuckle.
Power and Megumi joined Gojo and Qrow who where standing in the middle of the main hall. With a clap in his hands Gojo turned all the attention in the room to himself.
"Alright my students and guests. We will be taking our leave to the world of Remnant, I can rest easy that there will be no craziness or hijinks will be going on when I leave?" he asked rhetorically. When nobody answered he simply smiled to himself "good to hear. See you all very soon."
He pulled out a small little device and pushed the red button and a spiraling portal appeared behind him. Everyone looked at it in awe as the spiraling vortex of energy was mere steps away from them. Gojo turned around as Qrow, Megumi and Power joined in and walked through the portal together.
Ruby debated internally whether or not she should tell her uncle or anyone from that matter about the Mind Stone. It had been eating away at her for weeks and now knowing what it was and how dangerous it was, she should just give it to Gojo and be done with it.
But then she could never see her mother again…she finally had a memory of her.
Through the portal they went and then it dissipated. Leaving the entire group alone.
"So….big house party!" Yang bellowed out as soon as they were gone.
Everyone seemed to be in agreement on that, Nora yelling a loud victory yell. Ruby couldn't help but chuckle, though she felt a deep pang inside of herself and was utterly unsure if she was making the right decisions at this present moment. She was hiding a very powerful and dangerous artifacts with her only confidant in this entire situation being a small bug like creature she didn't know if she could trust.
She was doubting herself and her choices at every moment.
In this weird crazy multiverse, was there truly something like the correct choice?
Staring at the ceiling, lost in a sea of her own thoughts, Blake couldn't help but sigh in frustration at her inability to act on her own feelings. Everything she felt for Yang had been buried deep beneath and she had run away from it like she always did.
And what now? Was Yang falling for someone? She and that Maki girl seemed to hit it off quite well.
She knew she could possibly be seeing nothing more then ghosts. But the uneasy feeling twirling in her stomach just wouldn't go away. Questioning her own choices in light of everything that had happened. Hearing about how Adam really went off the deep end, working for the Collective and that ultimately costing him his life.
And now here she lay, being eaten up by guilt and uncertainty.
Uncertainty about how to proceed regarding her feelings towards Yang, and rolling into the shame of guilt. Was there anything she could've done to save Adam? Was there any way she could've stopped him from going down this road that would only lead to his own unbecoming?
All of that was right now, nothing else then crying over spilled milk.
He was dead. He was gone and here she was, left to pick up the pieces. It shouldn't affect her, but what they had? It had to have meant something.
Standing up from the bed, knowing that rest was a faraway thing at this moment, she gathered her breath and tried to shake herself out of these thoughts.
"Pull yourself together Blake. No more running" she told herself.
Fake it until you make it they often said, and that couldn't be a better saying at this moment. Marching of her bed she walked towards the door of her room. Breathing in she opened it confidently.
Only to stand still in complete shock.
The hallway in front of her, a normal hallway by all means, was now covered in dark and damp vines all the way through. Littered on the ground, crawling up the walls, every inch almost covered as darkness filled the room.
"What the?"
She felt herself being pulled back as the vines entangled around her arms and legs, pinning her with a loud thud against the wall, the vines entangling and restraining her.
"Help! What's going on!" Blake yelled out.
"Scream all you want it won't change a thing" a raspy voice sounded.
Blake turned her head to the door as a ghastly and creepy looking figure walked through it, his left hand extended forward.
"You….you're!" Blake said before a vine wrapped around her mouth and muffled her as the figure closed in on her.
"You're worst nightmare if you don't tell me what I need to know," Vecna told her as he walked up closer to her, his ghastly and terrifying face inches removed from her "where is the girl…"
A/N: I'm going to be honest with you all, I'm a bit overwhelmed by this story and the amount of characters I need to write about and I can't give all of them the equal amount of attention they rightfully deserve so I might just take a small break from it to clear my head because I feel this has become more of a duty then an actual hobby at this point which kind of saddens me.
