5 Minutes earlier

A portal materialized near the Vault in the Jujutsu Academy and the figures of Qrow, Megumi and Power appeared out of it and landed on the ground.

"Why didn't Gojo come back with us?" Power asked as Qrow immediately ran past her and opened the vault.

"He has to take care of things on Atlas but thinks we can handle things on our own somehow. Ugh…" Qrow cried out in frustration as he opened the vault door "we should've known that the Collective would take their chance the moment he was off world, he should've listened to us."

"You know he's never going too!" Megumi said as he ran into the vault, with Power trailing closely behind him.

Qrow also followed suit, running into the vault to check on everything to see if nothing was missing. He saw the creepy eyes cube that was the Prison realm, he sighed in relief as he saw it. So the Collective wasn't after that if they even knew that they had it.

"Why are we in here Qrow? I feel a presence outside people might need our help, we need to hurry up."

"I will swat them into pieces" Power said as she sliced her hand and formed a giant mallet made out of her blood.

"I know Megumi but we need to make sure that they haven't…." his voice trailed off as he saw an empty spot on one the planks. He had checked the Vault so often that he knew where everything lay and Qrow knew instantly that something was missing.

"He's gone…" Qrow said softly before shouting "HE'S GONE!"

"Qrow what are you talking about?" Megumi asked as he stepped forward. Instantly and erratically Qrow grabbed his hand and pointed towards the empty spot.

"Can't you see it! Malthazard is gone!" he shouted.

Megumi took a step forward, noticing the empty spot Qrow was pointing too.

"That can't be…he can't do anything locked up like that so he can't just up and vanish like that."

"You think!" Qrow yelled out with obvious sarcasm "someone officially took him but who?"

"Uhm what are you guys talking about. Let's go out and kick that Collective scum's asses!" Power said, almost jumping for joy at the prospect of an upcoming bloody conflict.

Qrow looked about ready to pull his hair out as he stepped over to Power and let out a long and exhausted sigh as he collected his thoughts.

"Listen to me Power! In this vault was a very dangerous creature that we cannot risk getting out especially now that the Collective is seemingly waging an attack on us! So it is kind of a big deal that we figure out where it went!"

"What did it look like?" Power asked.

"Small. Like really small, almost bug like."

"Oh you mean in that small little glass bowl that I saw your red haired niece sneak out of there earlier" Power pointed out.

Qrow's expression was akin to a thousand yard stare and he was silent for a good few seconds before he finally burst out with.

"AND YOU'RE JUST TELLING ME THIS NOW!"

"Well yeah it didn't seem that important" Power said with a shrug.

Erratic, angry and almost certainly willing to throw Power across the room, Qrow nonetheless brought out Harbinger and said "you two deal with the problem outside I need to get to Ruby before it's too late!"

With that Qrow immediately began to ran up the stairs with incredible speed, his mind only thinking of the worst outcome. Why did Ruby take him out of the vault? She should've known better then to trust this unknown creature. But then again he didn't warn her, he didn't think he needed too. He just hoped that she would be alright.

Present:

Qrow stared the now grown creature down as he held his niece with his one working elongated and clawed hand.

"Let her go Malthazard! She has nothing to do with this!" Qrow yelled out at him.

Malthazard grinned as he held Ruby with one hand, the girl unable to move, still in shock from everything that was happening all around her.

"Ah but dear Qrow she has everything to do with this. Your dear niece has been so kind to me, kinder then you after you locked me into that despicable prison!" Malthazard told him, clearly holding back his anger.

"And I put you in there for a good reason. Turning on your own people, siding with the Collective. Yeah I think putting you there was a very good decision" Qrow said, aiming Harbinger and not even close to losing his focus.

Ruby's silver eyed looked up with a saddened expression.

"But….but you told me you sided with them to protect them…" she said softly.

Malthazard glanced at her "I did. They cast me out because I wanted to help my people. Thanos gave me what I needed to help them. And then your uncle came and ruined everything!"

"Don't listen to him Ruby he is a liar and a deceiver! That's all that he has ever done, especially towards himself!" Qrow retaliated.

At this Malthazard seemed to burst out in laughter "oh that is interesting for you bring up Qrow. Considering your niece has been lying to you for this entire time!"

"What are you talking about!"

Malthazard gestured towards the nearby disk. From the corner of his eye Qrow saw it now clearly for the first time. The shining glow of the Mind Stone sitting right there.

"The Mind Stone…but how…" Qrow turned his attention back to the creature holding his niece hostage.

Ruby started to sob "I'm sorry uncle Qrow…I didn't know and….I saw my mom and…"

"It's okay Ruby…it's all okay…" Qrow tried comforting her.

"Ah how sweet. So sweet I could almost vomit," Malthazard said condescendingly "your own niece has had an Infinity Stone all this time and I helped her understand it. Something you wouldn't have done, you would've just scolded her for keeping it from you."

"Be quiet Malthazard!" Qrow threatened, aiming Harbinger at him.

"Look at her! You barely noticed how hard she had it! Too focused on yourself and your own quest to notice your own niece's suffering. No wonder she gravitated towards the Mind Stone!"

Qrow was gritting his teeth, his finger was aching to pull the trigger but the risk of hurting Ruby was just too great. The Mind Stone…she had it all this time. That thing was nothing but a harbinger of destruction and chaos and only brought pain and misery where it went.

"You failed her Qrow…just like you failed Arthur…" Malthazard said with a maniacal grin.

Qrow's grip on Harbinger tightened as soon as that name was brought up. He tried to restrain himself. His breath became ragged. His expression focused but his eyes burning with hatred.

"Don't you dare bring him up…he was just a child…..HE WAS JUST A CHILD AND YOU KILLED HIM!" Qrow shouted out.

A still sobbing Ruby looked shocked, she had never seen her uncle that angry, that intense and with such venom in his voice.

"You killed all of them….Arthur, Daisy, Archibald…" Qrow looked down to the ground, a single tear escaping his eyes "innocent and good people all gone in your desire for conquest in control….the Minimoys where right to call you the Evil M because that's what you are! Pure evil!"

Malthazard gritted his teeth, anger just boiling beneath the surface.

"Enough with this! I'll be taking my leave now" Malthazard said as he stepped forward.

"And where are you going to go then? The Collective would never take you back!" Qrow retorted.

"Perhaps. But I have something that will help me get back in the Great Titan's favor" Malthazard replied as he glanced over at the Mind Stone on the desk.

In that moment he threw Ruby out of his hand and right at Qrow, who dropped Harbinger to catch her. Malthazard used that opportunity and grabbed the Mind Stone of the table, but as he turned he saw that Qrow, holding Ruby in one hand, had managed to pick up Harbinger with the other hand and the gun barrel was aimed right at him.

"This is for Arthur" Qrow said as he fired.

The shot blasted Malthazard backwards and he shot straight through the window and fell out of sight, leaving only a gaping hall where the window used to be.

Qrow embraced Ruby as she sobbed into his chest "I'm sorry uncle Qrow…I didn't know…."

"Shh…it's alright. I'm not mad I'm just glad you're safe," he said reassuringly "I'm the one that should be sorry. I should have noticed how much you were going through…"

Qrow didn't really care much for the situation outside, or even if Malthazard had survived that fall or not. At this moment he was just wanted to keep his niece safe.

A/N: So the story is nearing his end soon and I will be happy once this one is over. It's definitely an improvement over the previous one but still it's taken a lot out of me and I just want to continue with the next story which I think will be a lot more interesting for both me and you guys as well. So I want to apologize if the chapters are going a bit fast and some things that should be highly impactful such as Yuta's death seem so rushed but I'm just not feeling this story anymore, it is definitely my least favorite in the series, the last two I enjoyed writing immensely and Come into my World was also a blast to write and while I haven't worked on Unforgivable Sinner much anymore since that story technically takes place after this one, I'm still very much a fan of the idea I created with it. I know you all want more Whiteknight in here and I hope I have definitely giving you a better version here then in the last version of this story but with General Weiss not really being a character I think a lot of the internal plot and drama she brings is just kind of gone. Regardless I will be happy once this story is finished.
