Chapter 6: The Taste of Temptation
The morning after, a much more calm Marjorie stood outside Asquith's dressing room, her hand poised to knock on the door. She took a deep breath, mentally rehearsing what she was going to say. Just as her knuckles were about to make contact with the wood, the door swung open, revealing Asquith standing there shirtless.
Her eyes widened, caught off guard by the unexpected sight. Marjorie's gaze involuntarily traveled down his well-defined torso, taking in the sight of his every bit of skin. She quickly averted her eyes, feeling her cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Asquith, seemingly unfazed by his semi-nudity, leaned casually against the doorframe. A mischievous smile played on his lips as he noticed Marjorie's reaction. He crossed his arms, emphasizing his sculpted physique even more.
"Well," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "Is this another effect I have on you? Speechless, I see."
Marjorie blinked, snapping out of her momentary daze. She straightened her posture, mustering her composure. "I, um... I was just going to ask if you wanted to have some coffee with me," she stammered, her voice slightly shaky.
Asquith arched an eyebrow, a teasing glimmer in his eyes. "Coffee, you say? Are you sure you're not here for another reason? Perhaps to finally say 'oh yes, Asquith! I surrender! Please! I want you to fuck me hard!' " he delievered this last piece, mimicking her voice and American accent, his voice raising an octave or two to an exaggerated mockery of a female voice.
Marjorie's cheeks flushed deeper, a mix of irritation and attraction coursing through her. She clenched her fists, trying to regain control of the situation. "No, Asquith, I'm not for any of that! Dirty man. I simply thought we could have a friendly conversation over coffee. That's all."
Asquith's smirk widened as he stepped closer, his bare chest just inches away from her. "Oh, I see. Just a friendly conversation, then?" he quipped, his voice dripping with playful skepticism.
Marjorie took a step back, trying to maintain her composure despite the palpable tension between them. "Yes, just a friendly conversation. Is that so hard to believe?"
Asquith chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, if you insist. But I must warn you, Marjorie, once you've had a taste of what I have to offer, it's hard to settle for mere friendly conversations."
Marjorie's frustration mingled with a hint of curiosity as she fought to keep her emotions in check. She bit her lip, her gaze flickering between Asquith's captivating eyes and his enticing physique. "I'll keep that in mind, Asquith. And you needn't always tell me that. But for now, coffee will suffice."
Asquith's smile softened, a flicker of something deeper in his gaze. "Coffee it is then, Marjorie. Lead the way." He said, quickly grabbing a nearby shirt and putting it on.
Marjorie nodded, her resolve strengthening. She turned on her heel and began walking down the corridor, feeling Asquith's eyes on her. As they made their way towards the coffee shop, she couldn't help but wonder if this friendly conversation would eventually lead to something more.
