"Do you know why I summoned you here?"

"I have absolutely no idea at all, because lady, I don't even know who you are."

Uzumaki Naruto, age 15, was confused as fuck as he sat in a school office that was on his list of schools he planned on conquering one day in his goal. He was a 166cm tall teenage boy, a decent body and good looks overall, though he had animal-like whisker marks on his cheeks. A car had picked him up.

"Your name is Uzumaki Naruto... from the Uzumaki clan... correct?"

"Yeah, that is me."

"Well, my name is Senju Tsunade... and you are I are both members of the Uzumaki clan. My grandmother, and your mother, were both a part of the clan..." Tsunade, a woman who smelled older than she looked, spoke casually as she introduced herself to him. That way they could get to know each other, and it would be less awkward when she told him why she summoned him to her school. "... did your parents teach you any Magecraft before they passed away?" Tsunade asked casually, as if she were talking about the weather.

Naruto crossed his arms and seemed displeased.

"Never met my parents, and my Magecraft skills are limited to the few things my parents left behind... so I'm not exactly talented at the stuff." Naruto wasn't the biggest fan of magecraft, mostly because he had nobody to teach him the arts of the stuff. He was almost completely self-taught because of his lack of parents.

"Ah... and do you know of the Fuyuki Holy Grail?"

"Huh?"

"... Okay then, do you know how many units of magical energy a magus usually has?" Tsunade asked Naruto as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I don't know... what... like 400... 500?"

"A mature adult usually has 25 units... and do you know how much magical energy you have?" Tsunade asked as she sighed, because she could hardly believe her horrible luck.

"I don't know... 400... 500?"

"... You have 500,000,000,000,000 units... you are an absolute freak of nature with magical reserves that make no biological sense in the slightest. The average Uzumaki adult from our clan only have an average magical energy rating of about 100,000,000... my own reserves are only in the 100,000 range..." Tsunade still couldn't believe her luck. "Do you at least know what your Max Output is?"

"Max...?"

"Yep, you're self-taught... okay... The Fuyuki Holy Grail war has happened 4 times in the past. A Holy Grail war happens when the Holy Grail selects 7 Masters to summon 7 servants, who fight for the chance to get the grail... and get a wish."

"So I'm a Master... is that what these weird marks are?" Naruto asked as he raised his hand up, and he showed faded marks on top of his hand. Marks that took the shape of a spiral, with marks both above and below the spiral. He had been curious about why the marks had appeared. Tsunade stood up and pointed at his hand.

"Yes! Yes, that is exactly it! Only, it isn't a Holy Grail war... it is a Great Holy Grail War... did you recently travel to Fuyuki?"

"Yes... about 5 weeks ago I think." Naruto could remember going to the school to check it out, but being completely bored so he left and went to a different school. He stayed for about 3 weeks, but he didn't really understand why him travelling to Fuyuki had anything to do with him being selected as a Master. "... so... I'm a Master because I went to Fuyuki?" Naruto asked Tsunade.

She sat back down and cleared her throat.

"... You could say you going there did have an effect... but no... instead of 7... this time it is 14... 2 sides going against each other." Tsunade explained, and she pointed to his hand. "... and since we're from the same clan... it means we should both reap the benefits from you possibly winning... right?" Tsunade asked Naruto with a growing smile on her face.

Once she noticed that he was selected, of course she wanted to give him a leg up, and maybe he would help her in return. It was only natural due to them being from the same clan after all, that they help each other out.

"... What?"

"You being in Fuyuki gave super-charged the leylines and flooded the grail with too much magical energy... so because of you, the Holy Grail war evolved into a Great Holy Grail war... and you were selected as a Master... from the Uzumaki clan." Tsunade was excited for this part though, even if she didn't have the greatest hopes for him winning due to his age and other factors. "If you want my help summoning a powerful servant."

...

"What is a servant?"

"A heroic spirit from history that will fight for you... and it just so happens that I managed to get several good things to use to summon." Tsunade opened a drawer in her desk, and she pulled out three packages from it. They were wrapped, and she unwrapped the first one and showed Naruto a fragment of wood. "... this is a piece from the argo, should let you summon a powerful Greek hero... and this here is a fragment from arrow used to pierce Tamamo no Mae... are you okay?" Tsunade asked.

Naruto seemed frozen as his eyes were glued to the piece of arrow, before he shook his head and grabbed the piece of wood from the argo. He felt his body breaking out into a cold sweat just from staring at the piece of arrow.

"I'll take this... how do I use this to summon a servant?" Naruto asked Tsunade, since he still didn't know much about this entire processs.

Tsunade smiled.

"I'll lend you a book with the ritual."

"Okay... thanks... I'll get right to summoning..." Naruto kept his eyes on the arrow fragment, and he could feel his stomach turning over the longer he looked at it. Naruto felt the strong urge to leave the room as soon as possible, the second he saw that piece he just felt wrong inside. "... and I'll keep your help in mind..." Naruto managed to look away from the arrow fragment and looked at the wood chip in his hand.

He had to escape.

-Much Later-

A wish.

'... I can further my plans to make this nation better... no... I can make the world better.' Naruto finished with the initial set up in the book that was given to him by Tsunade, with a detailed formula for how to summon a servant of his own. The magical circle was set up already, and the catalyst was resting in the center of it. The wooden fragment was serving as the catalyst.

He completed every step of the ritual so far, and the marks on his hand had darkened a bit in response to it.

Now he just needed to do the magical part and chant the chant.

Then make the contract.

"... Let silver and steel be the essense. Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation. Let brown be the color I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall. Let the four cardinal gates close-" The circle lit up and the catalyst glowed as Naruto started the chant. He kept his hand out and the symbols on his hand were now glowing brighter, becoming more distinct on his hand. "-Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate."

Who wrote these chants?

Some nerd for sure.

"Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be your sword. Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail. Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth."

Did some super nerd right this chant, because Narut felt wrong saying it. Like he was a middle schooler trying to summon a demon to rant his right eye power, only to wear an eyepatch over it. Naruto was trying to hold back his laughter when he mentally made the comparison.

"An oat shall be sworn here... I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven; I shall have domination over all evils of all of Hell. From the Seventh heaven, attended to by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!" Naruto finished the chant as the catalyst glowed it's brightest, as did the magical circle itself. The magic in the air was practically vibrating with power, and the room he was in was shaking.

He was in his own apartment, he hoped he wasn't causing trouble for his neighbors with this summoning ritual messing things up.

There was a woman.

She was the same height as him, and she had long blond hair... but her bangs were green... and she had cat ears. She wore a lot of green with short puffy sleeves on a green and black dress. Her entire body was lean, and she was beautiful with green eyes... a lot of green and blackl, with splashes of yellow. She carried a black bow that was taller than she was, a stylish bow that had a nice form to it, which she held in one leather/metal gloved hand.

"Art thou my Master?"

"... I would prefer partner than Master. Master just seems so... weird to me. I'm Naruto, I summoned you to fight by my side. I hope we can get along, and do our best to win!" Naruto extended his hand to the woman. He had no clue who she was, but he noticed she had a long cat tail sticking out from the bottom of her dress.

She looked around.

"... Art we the only beings around?" She asked suspiciously, looking towards the window to see the street with cars passing by.

"I think so, this is my apartment."

"I am the servant class Archer, as my Master it would be best if you used your ability to check my name yourself." Archer stated as she looked all around the room for any kind of thing that could be listening to them. "It will tell you everything my Master needs to know... Master?" Archer asked when Naruto crossed his arms.

He seem displeased.

"I don't want to just read who you are. I want you to tell me who you are, because we're partners. If we're working together to get our wishes granted, I want us to work together." Naruto told her, unhappy with how straightforward she was being about her status as a servant.

Archer paused for a moment.

"I am Atalanta, my class is Archer... I sailed upon the Argo, and was the first to shoot the Calydonian Boar. This is my bow, blessed by Artemis, Tauropolos." Atalanta extended her bow and showed it off, before she made her weapon vanish into magical pieces that vanished. She looked towards Naruto, and she saw him smiling and uncrossing his arms.

Naruto grinned at her.

"That's great! See... so Atalanta, what is your wish for the Grail if we wi... when we win." Naruto pumped his fist and decided to show his determination.

"You first Master." Atalanta nodded her head and conceaded to him the first word.

Naruto just hummed.

"Well... my goal is to take over Japan and make it a better place for everyone. I don't want anyone else to suffer the way I did growing up. I want every child to grow up with their loving family, and I want nobody to grow up being bullied for things out of their control... I want a future where everyone can be happy!" Naruto extended both of his arms out.

Atalanta smiled.

"That, my Master, is a foolish wish... an impossible one."

"Well, it's my wish to make... and if the grail can grant wishes, then that is the wish I'm going to make it grant." Naruto gripped his fist and slammed it against his heart. He looked his servant dead in the eye when he said it.

Atalanta glanced down at the carpet for a moment, before she looked up at him once more and nodded her head.

"My Master is foolish... but yes, I do find your wish will coincide well with my own. I wish for the salvation and happiness of all children in this world. For I too, which for no children to suffer as I had once suffered." Atalanta bowed to Naruto politely, keeping her head low as she did so. The cold aura around her lessened. "... and I now accept you as my Master, truly. For as long as you don't deviate from your just mission, I will be your loyal servant. I shall gladly follow you to hell for this wish." Atalanta stated.

"HAHAHAHA!"

Atalanta looked at Naruto.

"You called me a fool, but your wish is exactly the same as mine! No wonder you called me a fool! It's easy for an idiot to see an idiot!" Naruto couldn't stop himself from laughing at how Atalanta had made a joke with him, before he even realized that she was joking.

She insulted his wish fully knowing that she had a similar wish, and fully supported the wish that he was going to make if he won.

"Master, it isn't nice to mock another person's dream." Atalanta closed an eye and lightly chided Naruto for his laughter. Her face was serious again when she walked over to the window, and narrowed her eyes as if she was looking into the distance. "... How long until the battle starts?" Atalanta knew the details already.

She didn't know how much time they had to prepare though.

"Well, apparently 9 servants were already summoned, with you being Number 9... so we're waiting for 5 more Masters to summon servants before things kick off, and we all head to Fuyuki... want to go meet some of the other Masters on our side?" Naruto asked Atalanta, since apparently the other Masters of Black were going to be meeting up to get to know each other and their servants.

Atalanta shook her head.

"We have no allies, only people who aren't our enemies right now... I would like our allies to not know my identity as long as possible... for once the Servants of White are defeated... we will have to face off against the Servants of Black." Atalanta kept her eye out the window as she scanned for any signs of anyone spying on them. When she was satisfied with there being nobody watching, she closed the blinds. "... this course of action is suitable for you?" Atalanta would leave the choice up to him in the end though.

Naruto thought about it.

"... I'll trust your judgement on this."

"As the Master, you have final say." Atalanta stated to him, telling him just so that he could remember what their positions were.

"Okay, and my final say is that I'm going to listen to you." Naruto extended his hand towards her to shake.

Atalanta smiled and shook his hand.

'... I see... he values my opinion, because he does see us as partners. That will make him a good Master to me, and we have the same goal.'

'She's so pretty... should I ask about why she has cat ears?' Naruto's thoughts on the other hand were way different. He didn't expect to summon a pretty woman with car ears, so he was kind of thrown through a loop at the unexpected outcome. "... So should I call you Archer or Atalanta?" Naruto didn't know how she wanted to be addressed.

She thought about it.

"... I would prefer you not use my name when we are not isolated from others. When not in combat, I plan to hide my bow... you should address me as Berserker." Atalanta stated after giving it some thought.

Naruto blinked.

"OH! Because if people think you're a Berserker, maybe they won't challenge you to a close combat fight, and as an archer that gives you an advantage! I get it! You're giving people the wrong impression so they misjudge how they should fight you! That is smart!" Naruto palmed his fist once he understood what she was going for with the name she wanted to be called. For her part, Atalanta looked at him with appreciation and a swift nod.

"Yes... but seeing as Berserkers are not known for talking, I will be silent when around other servants until my lie is revealed." Atalanta wanted him to understand that once they started their lie, she was not allowed to talk in front of other servants. Her talking and conversing would ruin their lie right off the back. "Will you attend the gathering of other masters?" Atalanta asked.

Naruto sat down on his couch.

"Nah, it isn't like I have friends among them... heh... not like I have friends at all." Naruto laughed at the thought.

"You have no friends?"

"None, I've never had a friend since the day I was born... this is Japan, people like me who stand out... we're treated like garbage, and I didn't have a family either." Naruto gestured to his hair and eyes. Atalanta sat down on the foor, even though there was room on the couch.

She nodded in understanding, and that was her reaction.

"Your life mirrors my own, for my father did not love me. He abandoned me in a forest, for he wanted a male heir. I did not grow up with a parent's love. Tell me, do you have any activities that bring you joy?" Atalanta wanted to learn more about the master she seemed to share so much in common with.

He grinned.

"My hobbies are being better than people at their hobbies. If I see a guy who loves sumo, well I have to be better than him at sumo. My other hobbies are kind of obvious... I like gardening, because nature is relaxing." Naruto gestured to the tons of potted plants in his apartment.

She nodded.

"Yes, there is a calming effect the forest has, I agree. Bettering yourself is admirable... I myself enjoy the hunt, and sprinting through the forest... relaxing with children is also an activity that brings me pleasure." Atalanta spoke with much more grace than Naruto, but he got what she was saying.

She was telling him that her hobbies were similar to his own in a way, or rather their hobbies didn't conflict with each other.

"So... you're a Greek hero from the Argo... what is the Argo?" Naruto asked Atalanta, since he wasn't a history buff like a lot of people.

"A collection of heroes who sailed on a ship captained by a hero named Jason... who had leadership skills, but was not powerful himself. I was among the few women who sailed... alongside Medea, who I enjoyed conversation with." Atalanta fondly reminded herself of the time she spent with her fellow woman. "... I distrust men as a general rule, though I do not hate them. So Master, do you have a woman you have grown fond of... a woman in your life who has caught your eye?" Atalanta was curious about him.

He shook his head.

"Women are pretty, but a lot of women I've talked to... well... I've got no friends."

"A shame, you are quite the handsome man. You should cherish your chastity while you have it, for the one who you give it to will be always a part of your memory. Once you have sex, your chastity will forever belong to the one who took it... so don't let somebody steal it, but give it." Atalanta spoke to him with the best advice that she could give him. "... have no regrets."

"Thanks, you died already... but what was it like, did you fall in love?" Naruto asked her, she shook her head a simple no.

"I gave my hand to a man who I did not love, because I defeated me in a foot race. I was then forced to give my chastity to him by the goddess Aphrodite... though since I broke my oath, I was punished by Artemis... but I still have no regrets." Atalanta spoke from the heart. She leaned up agaianst the couch and watched TV with Naruto. She stayed a respectable distance away from touching his legs with her shoulder.

"... So you were raped... I'm sorry."

"Think nothing of it, the whims of the gods cause pain, but also joy. My fondest memories are of the hunt with Artemis. Of course, I do wish I had not become distracted in my race... but I did get something valuable from it... so Master... this box with images... how does it work?" Atalanta asked Naruto.

...

"Magic, the magic of science and electricity."

"I see... you do not know, very well. I will ask no further." Atalanta could read what he really meant when he told her that answer. Her curiousity was not sated, but she saw no purpose in asking a man a question he could not answer a second time.

...

"... Since the war hasn't started yet, can you teach me how to hunt with a bow and arrow?"

"Yes, I would be glad to teach you my Master." Atalanta stood up and walked towards the front door. "Is there any reason you want to learn?" She asked as she opened the front door.

He shook his head.

"Do I need a reason to want to learn a new skill, or train myself... or just spend time with my partner?" Naruto didn't see why he had to have a reason for the suggestion. Atalanta was more than satisfied with the answer he gave.

'Yes, I am quite happy with this Master... I do see us getting along.' Atalanta couldn't believe she had a good master like this.

Hard working, humble, a good personality, kind, understanding of her dream, and willing to work with her. She had perhaps the perfect master for herself, somebody she didn't see herself clashing too much with.

She got lucky.
