Later that night, Calem was right beside the remains of Team Flare's secret base, just as Cross and Damian pulled up next to him.

"Come in, come in boys." Calem said. "We're having another meeting."

"Another meeting?" Cross asked. "We haven't been seen for twenty years."

"Anyways Calem." Damian said. "What do you need from us this time?"

"Well boys-" Calem said, before he realised that someone was missing. "Hey, wait a minute, where's Conway?"

Speak the devil's name and Conway appeared on his Slowking.

"Right here, right here." Conway said. "Don't get your Pokémon in a twist."

"Trevaurnent if you please." Calem said, before continuing. "Anyway, that little Pallet Town kid ruined my plans to get rid of the Magical Girl."

"Who? Ash?" Conway asked.

"Oh no, it's Gary and Brock." Calem said, sarcastically before becoming mad. "Of course it's Ash you fool!"

"And what do you want us to do?" Cross asked.

"Well boys." Calem said. "You two are gonna help me-" But before Calem could finish they all heard the sound of a Pokémon.

"GLACE!"

Calem gasped when he heard the Pokémon. "Help me get back at that Ashy-boy and kill the Magical Girl!"

"Kill?" Damian asked. "You mean hurt?"

"Eh, destroys another word for it." Calem said.

"So what are you gonna do?" Cross asked.

"Yeah, yeah?" Damian added.

"As I said once before." Calem said. "It's time to put Ashy-boy's lights out!"

May, who was nearby on her Galarian Rapidash had been listening to them but she couldn't recognise Calem's voice.

"What is that voice I'm hearing, Glaceon?" May asked. "It sounds familiar, but who?" Knowing she'd better hide, May and her Fresh Snow Pokémon quickly disappeared into the night on her Rapidash.

Calem saw her leave. "There she is, boys." Calem said.

"You mean that girl with the red bandana?" Cross asked.

"Yes, we shall strike tomorrow!" Calem proclaimed, as his Trevaurnent raised one of its arms. "And do you know why?"

May continued to ride her Rapidash off into the night.

"I'm scared to know." Damian said.

"This is a job for the boss!" Calem cackled as Trevaurnent then crushed a pipe with its hand. "Now, I'll see you three tomorrow, I have other business to attend to." And Calem left on his Trevaurnent.

"We'll see you tomorrow sir." Cross said, as he left on his Incineroar.

"Yeah, we'll see you tomorrow." Damian said, as he left on his Rhyhorn.

"Hu, whatever." Conway said. "I don't care." And he left on his Slowking.

The next day, Ash had made his way to the Indigo Plateau on Charizard, there was Leaf waiting for Ash and she wasn;t happy.

"It's about time!" Leaf snapped. "You took forever to show up!"

Ash just didn't say anything, as he waited. There coming out of his office was Charles Goodshow himself.

"Now, it seems you two have had some conflict with each other." Charles Goodshow said. "The only way we can solve this is by talking about the problem." He turned to Leaf. "Leaf, you may go first."

"Gladly." Leaf said. "I'm just tired of Ash always making himself the victim! He punched Calem and now he claims he's been getting nightmares about a break-up, which I easily got over!"

"I see." Charles Goodshow said, before turning to Ash. "Ash, anything you wanna say?"

Leaf turned her eyes to Ash and then scoffed rudely at him. "Hmph! Like he has anything to say, but fine Ash, enlighten me, speak your mind."

Ash was now very cross.

"That's it!" Ash shouted madly. "I've finally had it with you Leaf! I'm sick of you always believing what you want to see! You've been believing lies that both Calem and Paul have been saying about me! I'm tired, I'm angry and I'm annoyed with you!"

Leaf went from being mad to being sad. She was surprised to see Ash's anger shoot out like a rocket.

"What are you saying?" Leaf asked.

"You hurt me!" Ash shouted crossly. "All you've ever done was threaten to leave me, get mad at me when I couldn't give you everything you wanted, and made me feel small! I'm finally done with you Leaf! You want to find someone special and threaten to leave them if they can't give you what you want? Go ahead! I couldn't care less!"

"Pika, Pika, Pi, Pikachu! Pika, Pika, Pikachu!"

Leaf, who was now at loss for words, couldn't believe how Ash really felt, she really wanted to say she was sorry, but Ash wasn't listening.

"Did you know how it felt to be there when the other Trainers were bullying you?" Ash asked. "I actually cared enough and I stood up for you, but I guess you couldn't have done that for me! I guess Calem was right about one thing in his life, you WERE only using me!"

And with that Ash who was feeling upset, hopped on Charizard's back and the Flame Pokémon flew off somewhere so Ash could be alone, but as for Leaf she had now lost her friend for good.

"Oh what have I done?" Leaf asked herself.

Ash had Charizard land near Jessie, James and Meowth's restaurant waiting for the sky to be free of all the wild Pokémon migrating, trying to think of something else. Just then Jessie, James and Meowth came out of their restaurant walking up to Ash, they had finished their morning shift early.

"Hey look, it's Ash." Jessie said.

"He looks bothered by something." James said.

"Hello there Ash." Meowth greeted.

"Hello Jessie, James and Meowth." Ash responded.

"You okay Ash?" Jessie asked. "You don't look so happy."

"It's Leaf." Ash said. "I'm tired of her completely!"

"Oh dear." James said. "Tell us what happened."

"I'm tired of everything she's put me through." Ash said.

Ash then explained to the former Team Rocket members about everything Leaf had done to him, all the drama, all the fights and even when she chased him over something that Paul had said. Jessie, James and Meowth were indeed surprised.

"Oh my word!" They gasped. "Well we're glad we pushed those crates on her and her Meganium, despite not knowing what was happening."

"I thank you three for that guys." Ash said. "Bit I just can't deal with her anymore, I'm mentally tired and I don't want her back at all."

"I don't blame you Ash." Meowth said. "If there was a Female Meowth that did all that to me, I'd probably would've distance myself from her."

"No Meowth." Ash said. "Not distance. I'm done with her completely! She wanted a break-up, she got it. Let another Trainer deal with her."

"Oh I see." Jessie said. "So where are you off to now?"

"Somewhere that I can rest and clear my head." Ash said.

"There's an old hut near the rocky canyons." James said. "You can go there."

"Is it somewhere that I can be alone?" Ash asked.

"It's where the old Team Rocket's base was located." Meowth said. "No one ever goes to it anymore, not since we helped Looker and the Interpol Police stop Giovanni and Team Rocket 10 years ago."

"Thanks guys." Ash said, climbing back on Charizard's back.

"No problem Ash." Meowth said. "We hope you'll be okay."

"I hope so too." Ash said.

And with that Ash told Charizard to fly off to Team Rocket Headquarters.

Meanwhile with Leaf, she couldn't believe that Ash said he was through with her, just as Max arrived on Mightyena with a group of kindergarten kids.

"Hey Leaf." Max said. "What's wrong with you?"

"It's Ash." Leaf said. "I think I made him really mad."

"Please tell me you're joking right?" Mas said.

Max was annoyed at Leaf, he couldn't believe that she was asking, if she was the reason that made Ash mad.

"No." Leaf replied. "Why?"

"You're the reason he's mad!" Max cried. "All you've ever done to him is hurt him mentally because of the Calem incident! You expect so much from him and threatened that you'd leave and you're gonna sit here and ask if Ash's mad. I'm mad if you're even asking that! I can't tell if you're either delusional or just stupid!"

"But Max, please!" Leaf begged. "You must understand-"

"I'm not interested anymore, Leaf!" Max cut her off. "You made your decision and it was a poor one! Goodbye Leaf!"

Max left with Mightyena taking the kids on their Ponytas both Kanto and Galar forms.

Leaf was surprised and she couldn't believe that Max was that angry with her. Things weren't going her way now.

As Ash continued on his way to the abandoned Team Rocket Headquarters, he had to stop in Vaniville Town to let his mind clear. He could only think of Leaf and hearing her saying bad things in his head.

"UH!" Ash groaned. "Why can't I get her out of my head, Pikachu?! It's like she's now attacking me mentally."

Just then walking nearby was Bonnie, who had arrived with Squishy.

"Hello Ash." Bonnie smiled. "How's it going?"

"Not well, I'll tell you that Bonnie." Ash said.

Ash then explained to Bonnie what he told Leaf and how he had finally agreed about their break-up.

"Oh my Ash." Bonnie said. "I'm so sorry that happened to you."

"You know what Bonnie?" Ash asked. "Don't be sorry, she got what she deserved."

"But Ash, don't you feel a little upset or at least feeling down in the dumps?" Bonnie asked. "I understand that you're mad, but surely you still care about Leaf don't you?"

"Huh, why should I?" Ash asked. "She never cared about my feelings, all she ever cared about were the bigger Trainers. She never listened to me, nor believed what I had to say. She can just go and enjoy herself with Calem for all I care!"

"Ash, two wrongs don't make a right." Bonnie said. "Yes, she hurt you, both mentally and emotionally. But you must understand that she could be going through that drama as well."

"Sorry Bonnie, but I don't believe that." Ash said, uncharacteristically. "Because she keeps mentioning that she can get over our little break-up. So let's see her try and get out of this one!"

Bonnie had noticed that Ash was starting to act like he did, back when Yoshi was trying to get Calem off Serena, so she could choose who she really loved.

"Ash, what on earth has happened to you?" Bonnie asked.

"Everything Bonnie!" Ash shouted. "I'm tired of being treated like a doll! It hurts to know that someone never really cared about how I felt or bothered to ask how I'm feeling! You wouldn't understand, because you've never been in my shoes! I get you and everyone else all wanna help, but you can't!" Ash then took a deep breath. "At least not yet anyway."

And Charizard flew away, leaving behind a very concerned Bonnie, who felt very worried for Ash.

"Oh Ash." Bonnie said. "I know that deep down, you're hurt, but your anger's starting to get to you."

"Don't mind him Bonnie." Squishy said. "Ash's just angry. I'm sure he'll be better."

"I can't say the same for Max." Bonnie said.

There on his Mightyena coming beside Bonnie was a very angry Max. Bonnie walked until she was by Max's side.

"Oh my Max." Bonnie gasped. "What's wrong with you?"

"It's Leaf!" Max said. "She's really getting me angry."

The kindergarten kids were also angry.

"She had the nerve to ask if she was the reason Ash was mad." One of the boys said.

"Poor Max here, got really mad all right." One of the girls said.

"Yeah, he blew a fuse and told her off." Another boy said.

"Wait, you did what?!" Bonnie asked Max crossly.

"Uh whoops."

"I don't think she was supposed to know that bro." His sister said.

"You say that now!" All the kids said.

"Max, you made a promise that you wouldn't say anything to her!" Bonnie said crossly.

"Now hang on Bonnie." Squishy said. "I'm sure Max had a good reason for ignoring your promise."

"And it was a good reason, Squishy." Max said. "Because you and I, Bonnie both can agree that Leaf has been stuck up in her little fantasy world. So someone had to break it to her, that Ash wasn't ever coming back to her."

Bonnie had realised that Max was right.

"You're right Max!" Bonnie gasped. "I sure hope Ash'll be okay."

Then Korrina and her Lucario approached the two.

"I personally believe that Ash will be okay." Korrina said. "After all, he's the World Coronation Series Champion. I'm sure he'll be okay."

"Betcha something's gonna happen to Ash." One of the girls said.

"Huh, I doubt it mate." One of the boys said.
