As soon as Louise's embarrassment about the love potion began to fade away, they heard a knock on the door. Vader moved to open it, but Louise quickly intervened, gesturing him to wait a moment. She wanted to make sure it wasn't anyone who would catch her in an embarrassing situation.
"Who is it?" Louise asked, hoping it wasn't anyone important.
"It's me, Henrietta," came the voice of the princess from the other side of the door.
Louise quickly opened the door, surprised to see Henrietta standing in front of her.
"Your Highness, what brings you here?" Louise asked, trying to hide her embarrassment.
Henrietta's expression was serious as she stepped into the room and closed the door behind her.
"I need to discuss something important with the two of you," she said, her voice low.
"What is it?" Vader asked, his tone indicating that he was ready to hear whatever it was that the princess had to say.
Henrietta hesitated for a moment, her gaze flickering between the two of them. She took a deep breath before speaking, her tone grave and serious.
"I have come to speak to both of you because I need your help. As you both know, Tristain is in dire need of allies in these trying times. And, as the heir to the throne, it is my responsibility to secure those alliances."
Vader and Louise exchanged glances, silently acknowledging the importance of what Henrietta was about to say. The princess continued, "My family has arranged a political marriage for me with a family in Germania. They have offered their support in exchange for my hand in marriage."
Louise gasped, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Your Highness, you can't be serious. You can't just marry someone you don't love just for the sake of politics."
Henrietta's expression softened as she placed a hand on Louise's shoulder. "I understand your concern, Louise. But sometimes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Tristain needs this alliance, and as its future queen, it is my duty to make the sacrifice. But there is a different reason for me meeting you, Louise."
Henrietta leaned in closer to Vader and Louise, the gravity of her request evident on her face. "I need you both to retrieve a letter I sent to Prince Wales in Albion."
Vader listened to Henrietta's explanation with a stoic expression, considering the implications of what she was saying. A political marriage with Germania would certainly be a major development, but the potential consequences of the letter were even more concerning. If the letter contained information that would break the alliance, it could have disastrous consequences for Tristain.
"I understand, Your Highness," Vader said finally. "We will retrieve the letter."
Louise nodded in agreement, her earlier anger forgotten. "We will do whatever we can to help you, Princess."
Henrietta gave them a grateful smile. "Thank you both. I knew I could count on you."
Suddenly, Vader felt the presence of someone listening outside the door. With his heightened awareness, he could easily detect Guiche's presence as he tried to eavesdrop on their conversation. Without warning, Vader reached out with the Force and pulled Guiche towards him, causing the young nobleman to stumble into the room. Guiche looked up at Vader with a mix of fear and surprise in his eyes.
Guiche panicked and pleaded with Vader, "Please don't hurt me! I swear I wasn't trying to listen in on your conversation! I just happened to be walking by!"
Vader looked down at Guiche, his expression cold and impassive. He held Guiche in place for a moment longer before finally releasing him from his grip.
"You would do well to mind your own business," Vader warned him before turning back to Henrietta and Louise.
Just then, Guiche recognized the princess in the room and immediately bowed to her. "Princess Henrietta! What a pleasant surprise. Allow me to help you with your endeavors?" he said, giving her a flirtatious grin.
As Guiche flirted with Henrietta, Vader, and Louise exchanged a skeptical look. Guiche was known for being a ladies' man and not particularly reliable in serious situations. Henrietta, however, accepted his offer of help.
"Very well, Guiche," Henrietta said, "You may join Vader and Louise on this mission. We need all the help we can get."
Vader remained silent, but Louise spoke up. "Are you sure, Your Highness? Guiche is not exactly known for his reliability in serious crises."
"I understand your concerns, Louise," Henrietta replied, "but we must take any help we can get. Guiche is the son of the general in the Tristain military, after all. He may prove useful in our mission."
Vader still did not say anything, but his stoic expression betrayed his reluctance to work with Guiche.
"I promise I won't let you down, Your Highness," Guiche said, smiling at Henrietta.
"We shall see," Vader said, his voice devoid of any emotion.
Henrietta turned to Louise and carefully slipped the Water Ruby ring off her finger, holding it delicately in her palm. "Louise, I want you to have this," she said, holding out the ring to her. "It was entrusted to me by my mother, and it holds a lot of sentimental value to me. But I trust that you will keep it safe."
Louise's eyes widened as she looked at the ring, admiring its intricate design and the way it sparkled in the light. "I couldn't possibly accept this, Your Highness," she protested. "It's far too valuable."
"Nonsense," Henrietta replied with a smile. "Consider it a token of my gratitude for agreeing to take on this mission."
She then turned to Vader. "And I will send a loyal guard to accompany you on your journey. I trust that you will ensure their safety and that they will be of great help to you."
Vader bowed his head in acknowledgment. "We are grateful for your generosity, Your Highness," he said.
Henrietta smiled, a sense of relief washing over her. She had placed her trust in them, and she was confident that they would succeed in their mission.
Afterward, Vader walked outside in the courtyard, he focused his thoughts on the task that Princess Henrietta had given him and Louise. He was deep in thought, analyzing the situation and coming up with possible scenarios. As he was lost in thought, Vader suddenly heard someone call his name. He turned around and saw Siesta waving at him from a distance. He walked over to her.
"Mr. Vader! What are you doing here?" Siesta exclaimed as she noticed him.
"I am thinking about something," Vader replied.
"Is everything okay?" Siesta asked with a hint of concern.
"Yes, I am fine," Vader reassured her. "But perhaps you may assist me. Do you know anyone in the academy who has specialized knowledge of history?"
Siesta paused for a moment to think. "Well, there is one person who might be able to help you. Professor Colbert is an expert on history. I can take you to his quarters if you like."
Vader nodded and followed Siesta through the winding corridors of the academy, his cape billowing behind him. They passed by classrooms and laboratories but soon arrived at a large wooden door, and Siesta knocks on it gently.
A voice from inside calls out, "Come in." Siesta pushes the door open and steps aside for Vader to enter.
The room is dimly lit, with bookshelves lining the walls from floor to ceiling. There are various artifacts and trinkets scattered around the room, giving it a somewhat cluttered feel. In the center of the room, sitting at a desk was professor Colbert, who was at work mixing various chemicals and documenting them.
"Professor Colbert, I have brought someone who needs your help," Siesta announces as they enter the room. The professor, who was still working, looks up and puts on his glasses. He looks at Vader curiously and then nods at Siesta.
"What can I do for you?" the professor asks.
Vader steps forward and holds out his hand, showing the symbol of Gandálfr. "Perhaps you could tell me more about this symbol," he says.
"Ah, yes. The symbol of Gandálfr," he said, his eyes flickering with recognition. "Long ago, there were not just four elements of magic, but five. The fifth element was known as void magic. Gandálfr was the name of the familiar of the legendary void mage who was said to possess an incredible amount of power."
Colbert examined the symbol closer on Vader's hand closely and nodded his head, "This symbol is very similar to the one Gandálfr had."
Vader leaned in closer to Colbert, his interest piqued, "What do you mean by a legendary void mage?"
Colbert sighed, "The legend goes that there was once a powerful mage who wielded void magic. It was said that this mage had the power to control the void itself, which is the essence of all magic. However, the use of such magic was dangerous and unpredictable, and eventually, the mage disappeared."
Vader furrowed his brows, "What does this have to do with the symbol on my hand?"
Colbert leaned back in his chair, "Well, according to the legend, the void mage had a familiar named Gandálfr who shared a similar symbol on his body. It's possible that the symbol on your hand may be an indication that you may be Gandálfr."
Vader's eyes widened, "Are you implying reincarnation? That's impossible."
Colbert took a deep breath before continuing. "Right now in the present, there hasn't been anyone confirmed with void magic," he explained. "And because of that, it is up to speculation if the symbol on your hand means that you are Gandálfr."
Vader's mind was reeling. Void magic? Gandálfr? He had never heard of any of this before. He was both intrigued and apprehensive about what this could mean for him. "Thank you for your help, professor," he said finally. "I will keep this in mind."
As Vader turned to leave his eyes were drawn to the glass container filled with a strange liquid. It was a deep dark color that seemed to shimmer in the dim light of the room. He couldn't help but ask Colbert about it.
"What is that?" Vader asked, picking up the container.
Colbert looked over at the container and smiled. "Ah, that is dragon's blood. It's a rare and powerful substance that I was fortunate enough to come across during my travels."
"Dragon's blood?" Vader repeated, his curiosity piqued. "What kind of dragon?"
"It's hard to say," Colbert said with a shrug. "Legend has it that two dragons appeared in the sky with a mighty roar. One disappeared back into the sky, and the other plunged deep into the earth. This blood is said to have come from that dragon."
Vader leaned in for a closer look. "What do you use it for?"
"I'm studying its properties," Colbert said, looking at the container with a hint of reverence. "But as you can see, I've only managed to obtain a small amount. I'm trying to replicate it, but it's proving to be a difficult task."
Vader nodded, still gazing at the container. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something important about this substance, something that he couldn't quite put his finger on. It also reminded him about how little he truly knows about this world's mysteries.
"Thank you for your time, professor," Vader said, turning to leave the room.
"Of course," Colbert replied, watching as Vader walked out of the room. "If you ever need any help with anything else, don't hesitate to ask."
Afterward, it was early morning the next day. Vader, Louise, and Guiche were making final preparations for their journey, Louise approached Vader with a worried look on her face.
"I sense something is troubling you," Vader asked, sensing her unease.
Louise looked up, her eyes pleading for reassurance. "I'm not sure if I'm ready for this. It's such an important mission and I don't know if I can handle it."
Vader placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You have the skills and knowledge to complete this mission. You must trust in yourself and remember the training that I have given you."
Louise nodded, her confidence slowly returning. "Thank you, Vader. I'll do my best."
"Good," Vader replied, turning back to his preparations. "If need be, I will protect you."
Vader suddenly paused and looked up at the sky, his senses alert. Louise and Guiche followed his gaze but saw nothing out of the ordinary.
"What is it, Vader?" Louise asked, concern in her voice.
"I sense something flying above us," Vader replied, his hand instinctively reaching for his lightsaber.
Just then, a large creature landed in front of them. Vader instinctively took a defensive stance, but then he saw the rider on its back. It was the loyal guard that Princess Henrietta had promised, riding on a magnificent Griffith.
The rider dismounted gracefully and introduced himself as Jean-Jacques Wardes, captain of Tristain's Griffin Knights. He was a tall, bearded man with a kind smile and piercing blue eyes.
"Princess Henrietta has sent me to accompany you on your journey," he explained. "I am at your service."
Wardes then noticed Louise and turned to her, taking her hand in his, "I was not made aware that my fiancée, Miss Vallière, was going to be a part of this mission," Wardes says, looking at Louise with concern.
Louise blushed slightly at his words, but she quickly composed herself and replied, "I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, Wardes. Besides, I have Vader and Guiche here to protect me."
Guiche raises an eyebrow in surprise at the mention of "fiancé". Vader, on the other hand, maintains his usual stoic expression, though his mind starts racing with questions.
Wardes raised an eyebrow when he saw Vader, but he quickly composed himself and turned to face the Sith Lord. "It's an honor to meet you, Vader," he said smoothly,
Wardes then extended his hand for a handshake, but Vader did not reciprocate. Instead, he simply nodded at the captain of Tristain's Griffin Knights.
"Likewise," Vader replied curtly, his voice deep and intimidating. He turned his attention to the Griffin Knight's mount, inspecting it closely. "I trust this creature is reliable?"
Wardes nodded, a confident grin spreading across his features. "Absolutely. Our Griffins are the most loyal and skilled creatures in all of Tristain."
Vader remained stoic, his eyes never leaving the creature as he examined it from all angles. Finally, he nodded. "Very well. We shall make use of it."
Wardes bowed deeply, his eyes never leaving Vader's form. As he straightened, a hint of a smirk played at the corner of his mouth, his eyes flashing with a hint of mischief. Vader couldn't help but wonder what the captain was hiding, but he knew better than to reveal his suspicions. Without another word, Vader turned and began walking toward their mounts. Wardes followed suit toward his Griffith, and soon the group was on their way.
Meanwhile, Kirche watched from her window as Vader, Louise, Guiche, and Wardes made their way out of the academy's gates. She leaned on the windowsill, her eyes fixed on their departing forms, curious about what they were up to. Kirche couldn't shake the feeling that something interesting was happening.
As they rode on top of their mounts, the landscape around them changed drastically. They passed through lush green forests, rocky hills, and vast grasslands. Vader remained vigilant, his senses attuned to every movement and sound around them.
Guiche, who was riding on his horse beside Vader, noticed Vader's focused gaze on Wardes and Louise riding on the Grifith. He couldn't resist the opportunity to tease Vader.
"What's wrong, Vader?" Guiche said with a smirk. "Jealous that Wardes is riding with Louise?"
Vader shot Guiche a cold glance. "I have no time for such trivial matters," he said in a menacing tone.
Guiche shrugged, but inside he couldn't help but feel amused at Vader's reaction.
Meanwhile, Wardes and Louise continued to ride on top of the Griffith, their conversation low and hushed. Vader could sense something was amiss, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. As they continued their journey, Vader decided to use the force to try and reveal Wardes' true intentions. He focused his mind, delving deep into the force to try and detect any signs of deception or malice.
Suddenly, Vader's concentration was broken as Guiche loudly announced, "We've arrived at La Rochelle!"
Vader's attention shifts from his use of the force to the present moment, as the group arrived at the port city of La Rochelle. They dismount from their mounts and stretch their legs, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city. Guiche, as usual, strikes up a conversation with the locals while Louise and Wardes stick close to each other. As Vader puts down his bags, Louise comes over to him, feeling the need to explain her situation about Wardes.
"I just wanted to clarify that the fiancée thing was decided by my parents, and it's not like I have any romantic feelings for him," she says.
Vader looked at her, his expression was stoic. "I see," he replies, not convinced. He can sense the strong emotions and admiration she has towards Wardes, despite her words.
Louise notices Vader's skepticism and frustration take over her. "There is nothing wrong with Wardes, why can't you trust him?" she asks, raising her voice slightly.
Vader turns to her, his voice calm but firm. "It is not a matter of trust, it is a matter of being cautious. The Force has shown me that there is more to him than meets the eye."
Louise's frustration grows, "You're just being paranoid!" she snaps, before turning around and storming off in anger.
Vader watches her go, his thoughts remaining guarded. He knows that he cannot let Louise's emotions get in the way of the mission, and he must keep a close eye on Wardes. He turns back to his bags and begins to unpack, ready to rest for the night before their journey continues.
Later that same night, Vader, Louise, Guiche, and Wardes were all sitting around the dinner table at the inn in La Rochelle. The mood was generally cordial, with occasional lulls in the conversation as everyone focused on their food. Vader was keeping a close eye on Wardes, who seemed to be getting along quite well with Louise.
"To think you managed to summon someone like Vader to be your familiar?" Wardes said to Louise, impressed. "That's quite the accomplishment."
Louise blushed and smiled. "Well, it wasn't easy, but we managed to come to an understanding."
Wardes continued to praise Louise, and Vader couldn't help but feel his suspicions about Wardes grow. However, he remained stoic, not wanting to reveal his emotions.
Suddenly, Wardes changed the topic. "I couldn't help but notice that you're quite skilled, Vader. I've heard about your duel with Guiche and about the Staff of Destruction and Fouquet. I'm very interested in seeing what you can do."
Vader raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?"
Wardes smiled. "Because I think we could have quite the match. I'm a skilled fighter myself, you know."
Vader was suspicious. Wardes seemed to know an awful lot about him and his recent battles. However, he decided to accept the challenge. "Very well. We can have a match tomorrow before we depart."
Louise looked worried. "Are you sure about this, Vader? You don't have to fight him if you don't want to."
Vader shook his head. "No, it's fine. I think it'll be good for me to practice my skills."
Wardes grinned. "Excellent. I can't wait to see what you're capable of."
As they finished their meal, Vader couldn't help but feel a sense of unease about him. Wardes then rises from the table and turns to Louise.
"Excuse me, Louise," he says, "but there's something important I need to discuss with you. Would you be so kind as to accompany me to my room?"
Louise hesitates for a moment but then nods. "Of course," she says, rising from her chair. "What is it you need to tell me?"
Wardes smiles and takes her arm. "It's something that can't wait," he says, leading her out of the dining room.
Vader watches them go, his eyes narrowed with suspicion. He knows that something is off about Wardes and that he has some sort of ulterior motive.
The group then disperse back to their rooms to retire for the night, all the while Vader focuses his gaze on Wardes as he walked away with Louise.
Afterward, when Vader returned to his room, he paced back and forth, his mind racing with thoughts about Wardes. He can sense something off about the man but he is still unsure as to why. He sits down on the edge of the bed and runs his fingers over the symbol on his hand, lost in thought.
As he contemplates, he hears a faint tapping sound coming from outside his window. He gets up and walks over to the window, pulling the curtains aside to peer out into the darkness. He sees nothing but the shadows of the night and the sound fades away.
Vader's intuition tells him that something is not right, and he realizes that he must stay alert and vigilant. He stands there for a few moments longer, gazing out into the night, before turning back to his room. He sits down on the bed once again, and begins to meditate, focusing his mind on the Force to sense any danger that may be lurking nearby. He knows that he must be prepared for anything that may come their way.
Meanwhile, as Louise is in Wardes' room, she reminisces about the past, Wardes takes her hand and says, "I remember that day when you were crying after being scolded by your father. I offered my hand and we went to smooth things over with him."
Louise nods, a small smile tugging at her lips as she remembers the memory.
"I know that you have a special power that no one else has," Wardes continues. "And I want to be there for you, always."
Wardes takes a deep breath. "I'm saying that I want to marry you, Louise. After this mission is over, of course."
Louise is taken aback by his sudden declaration. "Wardes, I...I don't know what to say," she stammers.
"I understand that it may come as a surprise to you, but please hear me out," he continues. "I need you, Louise. You are the only one who can complete this mission with me, and I can't imagine doing it without you by my side. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I hope that you feel the same way."
Louise's heart begins to race as she listens to Wardes' words. She had always admired him, but she never expected things to be rushed. "I...I need some time to think," she finally responds.
"Of course, my dear," he says, taking her hand. "Take all the time you need. But know that I will always be here for you, and I will do everything in my power to protect you."
With that, Wardes leans in to kiss her, but before their lips can touch, Louise utters a name that stops him in his tracks. "Vader," she says, her mind suddenly flooded with memories of the man who had made a similar promise to protect her.
As Warden hears Vader's name, Wardes stops his advance and pulls back. He looks at her with a hint of confusion and anger.
"Why did you say that name?" he asks, his voice low and dangerous.
Louise looks at him, fear and confusion etched on her face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
Louise hesitates for a moment before speaking. "He's...he's the one who trained me. He's...important to me," she says, her voice barely above a whisper.
Wardes scoffs. "Important to you? What could he possibly offer you that I can't?"
"He...he's not like that. He's just...he's always been there for me," Louise says, her voice trembling.
Wardes looks at her for a long moment before sighing. "Fine. But just remember, Louise, I'm the one who needs you. Not him," he says before turning and leaving the room.
Louise is left standing there, shaken and confused. She doesn't know what to make of Wardes' behavior and she's not sure what she's going to do about it.
The next day, Wardes and Vader faced off in a deserted alleyway. Louise stood nervously at the side, pleading with Vader to stop the duel. But Vader paid no attention to her, instead turning his attention to Wardes.
"I won't hold back," Vader growled, his voice menacing as he ignited his white lightsaber. The sight of it surprised Wardes, who had never seen a lightsaber before.
Wardes drew his rapier, a small smile on his lips. "I wouldn't expect you to," he replied mockingly.
With a sudden swing of his lightsaber, Vader charged toward Wardes, his weapon humming as it sliced through the air. Wardes deftly dodged the attack, his rapier flashing as he deflected the blow.
"Very impressive," Wardes said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I had no idea you had it in you."
Vader remained silent, his face hidden behind his helmet as he continued his relentless attack. Wardes danced around him, his movements graceful and precise as he evaded each strike.
Suddenly, Wardes raised his rapier and muttered a spell under his breath. A gust of wind erupted from the blade, sending Vader hurtling toward a pile of barrels nearby. The barrels crashed to the ground, sending up a cloud of dust.
Louise rushed over to Vader's side, her eyes wide with concern. "Are you alright?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Vader rose to his feet, dusting himself off, his eyes fixed on Wardes. "I'm fine," he growled, his voice laced with a twinge of anger.
Vader and Wardes continued their intense duel. Wardes had managed to hold his own against Vader for some time, but it was becoming clear that the Sith Lord was not to be underestimated. Suddenly, Vader's attacks became faster and more aggressive, catching Wardes off guard. With a swift move, Vader disarmed Wardes, sending his rapier flying across the alleyway.
Wardes stumbled backward, his eyes wide with fear as Vader advanced on him, his white lightsaber glowing ominously. Vader raised his weapon, preparing to deliver the killing blow.
But before he could strike, Louise ran in between the two men, her voice echoed through the alleyway. "Stop!" she cried out, her eyes filled with tears.
Vader hesitated, his gaze flickering towards Louise. "Move aside," he said coldly. "This is not your concern."
"No!" Louise yelled back, her eyes blazing with anger. "I won't let you kill him!"
Vader's expression remained unchanged, his mask hiding any emotion he might have felt. "He is a threat to us," he said calmly. "He must be eliminated."
"He's already beaten!" Louise retorted. "You can't just kill him like this!"
Vader regarded her for a moment, his gaze unyielding. "I do what I must," he said finally, and with a sudden movement, he raised his lightsaber once more.
But before he could strike, Louise's words turned to venom. "You're a monster," she spat, her voice filled with disgust. "I don't even know why I'm still here with you."
Vader's expression remained unchanged, his mask hiding any emotion he might have felt.
"I should have never trusted you," she continued, her voice rising with anger. "You're nothing but a cold, heartless killer."
Vader said nothing, his face hidden behind his helmet. But Louise didn't need his response to know what he was thinking. With a sorrowful look, she turned and walked away, Wardes hobbling behind her.
As they left the alleyway, Louise couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for the hurtful things she had said to Vader. But at the same time, she knew that what he had done was unforgivable. And so she walked away, leaving Vader alone with his thoughts in the empty alleyway.
Later that same day, Vader stood on a high ridge overlooking the town, his thoughts a turbulent sea of emotions. He had failed to kill Wardes, and Louise's words had cut deep. He couldn't help but feel a sense of emptiness, a hollow ache that seemed to grow with each passing moment.
Suddenly, Vader sensed a presence behind him, and he turned to see Louise standing a few feet away. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice cold and emotionless.
"I want to talk to you," Louise replied, her voice shaking slightly. "I want to know why you did what you did. Why you were willing to kill Wardes like that."
Vader remained silent for a moment, his eyes fixed on the distant horizon. "He was a threat," he finally said. "I never trusted him from the beginning."
"But he was defenseless," Louise protested. "You defeated him in your duel. You had no right to try to kill him like that."
Vader turned to face her, his gaze piercing into hers. "I have the right to do whatever it takes to do what must be done," he growled. "And if that means killing those who stand in my way, then so be it."
Louise recoiled, the anger and menace in Vader's voice sending a shiver down her spine. "You're a monster," she spat. "I can't even look at you right now."
Louise then turned away from Vader and gave one last glance to him before she left.
"He's asked me to marry him," Louise said, her voice softening slightly. "And I've decided to say yes."
Vader remained silent as Louise turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing through the quiet hills.
Afterward, Vader stood alone on the ridge, looking out toward the sunset. He then heard the sound of footsteps approaching once again. This time it was Guiche.
"What are you doing out here?" Guiche asked, his voice filled with concern.
Vader turned to face him, his expression was cold and menacing. "That is none of your concern," he replied.
Guiche hesitated for a moment, taken aback by Vader's response. But then he spoke up again. "It's almost time for us to leave for Albion," he said. "Are you ready?"
Vader nodded, his eyes fixed on the horizon. But then something caught his attention. The ground beneath them shook and a massive golem had risen from the ground, its hulking form towering over the landscape. And standing before it was Fouquet, the notorious mage. Vader was surprised to see her out of prison, and he knew that this would be no easy fight. With a grim determination, he drew his lightsaber and prepared to face her. Guiche, too, readied his rose wand, a look of determination on his face. Together, they charged toward Fouquet and her golem, ready to do battle.
As Louise made her way back to Wardes, she couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt and regret. She had said some hurtful things to Vader, and now she didn't know how to make things right.
When she arrived at their meeting spot, Wardes was already there, looking impatient. "What took you so long?" he asked, his voice curt.
Louise hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But then Wardes spoke up again. "We need to leave for the port," he said. "We have to catch the last ship to Albion."
Louise was reluctant to leave Vader and Guiche behind, but she didn't want to upset Wardes any further. "Can't we wait a little longer?" she asked. "I don't want to leave them behind."
But Wardes shook his head. "We can't wait any longer," he said. "We have to leave now."
Louise was taken aback by his sudden insistence, but she was hesitant to argue with him. So, she reluctantly agreed, and the two of them set off toward the port.
As they walked, Louise couldn't shake the feeling of sadness that lingered within her. She felt guilty for what she had said to Vader, and she didn't know how to make things right.
But then Wardes spoke up again. "Don't worry," he said. "It's just going to be you and me for now."
As they walked, Louise couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, as if they were leaving something important behind. But she pushed those thoughts aside, telling herself that she would have time to sort through her feelings later.
As Louise and Wardes boarded the ship, Louise couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled within her. She couldn't help but wonder about Vader and Guiche, and what they were doing back in town. But then Wardes spoke up, pulling her attention away from her worries.
"Louise," he said, his voice low. "There's something I need to tell you."
Louise turned to face him, her eyes wide with curiosity. "What is it?" she asked.
Wardes took a deep breath before continuing. "Albion is in the midst of a civil war," he said. "The nobility has rebelled against the Crown, and there's a lot of fighting going on."
Wardes continued. "Because of the rebellion, the royal family was forced to flee Albion," he said. "The only remaining member of the family is Prince Wales."
Louise nodded, her mind racing with the possibilities. She couldn't believe they were headed into a warzone, but she knew they had to be careful. She didn't want to end up in the middle of a battle, caught in the crossfire between the nobility and the Crown.
As the flying ship sailed towards Albion, Louise couldn't help but feel uneasy about leaving Vader and Guiche behind. She paced back and forth on the deck, her mind consumed with worry.
Wardes noticed her unease and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, my dear," he said. "I'll protect you. Nothing will harm you as long as I'm here."
Louise looked up at Wardes, her eyes filled with doubt. "But what about Vader and Guiche?" she asked. "We left them behind."
Wardes chuckled. "They can take care of themselves. We need to focus on our mission."
Louise nodded hesitantly, still unsure of leaving her friends behind. But then she thought about Wardes's proposal, and her heart swelled with emotion. She turned to face him, her eyes shining with tears.
"I accept your proposal," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll marry you, Wardes."
Vader stood his ground, his white lightsaber held steady in his hand as the massive golem charged toward him. Guiche stood at his side, his arms outstretched as he summoned several Valkyrie golems to aid them in their fight. Fouquet stood at the top of the golem, controlling its every move with her magic. Her face was twisted into a sneer as she looked down at Vader and Guiche. "You won't get in my way this time!" she shouted.
Vader didn't respond, instead, he focused on the task at hand. With a swift motion, he swung his lightsaber toward the golem, aiming for its leg. The blade sliced through the metal with ease, causing the golem to stumble and falter. At the same time, Guiche's Valkyrie golems began to swarm the golem, pummeling it with their massive fists. The golem roared in anger, swatting at the smaller golems with its massive arms.
Fouquet continued to control the golem, her magic surging through it like a current. But Vader was not deterred. With a powerful burst of the Force, he launched himself toward the golem, his lightsaber blazing in the air. The golem tried to swat him away, but Vader was too fast. He landed a direct hit on the golem's chest, causing it to shudder and falter.
As the battle continued, Vader and Guiche tried everything in their power to defeat Fouquet and her golem. But it seemed as if she was always one step ahead, using her earth magic to repair any damage done to the golem. Vader and Guiche knew that they couldn't keep up the fight forever. They would have to find a way to defeat Fouquet and her golem before it was too late.
Fouquet cackled as she commanded her golem to crush Vader and Guiche under its massive feet. The two men stood back-to-back, their weapons at the ready, as the golem advanced upon them. Just as it was about to strike, a burst of fire erupted from behind it, followed by a flurry of ice. Fouquet turned to face the new attackers and saw Kirche and Tabitha, flying on Tabitha's dragon familiar, their own magical abilities on full display.
"I hope we aren't interrupting anything!" Kirche yelled out triumphantly.
Kirche then conjured up a wall of flame that separated Fouquet from her golem, while Tabitha used her ice magic to freeze the ground under the golem's feet, making it unable to move. Vader and Guiche used the opportunity to strike, with Vader using the Force to hurl his lightsaber at the golem's neck while Guiche summoned a Valkyrie golem to deliver a powerful blow to its midsection. With a final explosion of earth magic, Fouquet was thrown back and defeated, and the golem crumbled to dust.
As Kirche, Tabitha, Vader, and Guiche were catching their breath after the intense battle, they heard the sound of approaching footsteps. They turned to see a group of villagers coming towards them, armed with makeshift weapons and looking angry.
One of the villagers pointed at Vader and Guiche accusingly. "You two! You're the ones causing all this trouble in our village!"
Vader raised an eyebrow, while Guiche stepped forward to explain. "No, you don't understand. We were fighting against that woman, Fouquet, and her golem. She was the one causing all the destruction."
The villagers looked skeptical, but just then, Fouquet approached, cackling triumphantly. "Ha! I have bought enough time to stall them!"
With that, she disappeared, leaving the villagers to deal with the aftermath of the battle. Vader, Guiche, Kirche, and Tabitha quickly explained what had happened and tried to help with the cleanup effort.
Despite their best efforts, the villagers remained suspicious of Vader and Guiche, and the group decided it was best to leave before any more trouble could arise. As they made their way out of the scene, Vader couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Something about the way Fouquet had taunted them before fleeing had set off warning bells in his mind. He knew that their mission to Albion was going to be more difficult than he had anticipated.
Vader, Kirche, Tabitha, and Guiche ran as fast as they could towards the pier, their hearts racing with the thought of missing the last ship to Albion. As they reached the pier, they saw the ship slowly fading into the distance, with no hope of catching up to it.
Vader was furious. He grabbed one of the pier attendants by the collar and interrogated him menacingly. "Where did the ship go?" he demanded. "Why did it leave without us?"
The attendant stuttered nervously, intimidated by Vader's imposing presence. "I-I'm sorry, sir," he stammered. "The ship left on schedule. There was nothing I could do."
Vader's grip tightened, and he leaned in closer to the attendant's face. "What about the other two that were with us?" he growled. "Did they board the ship?"
The attendant shook his head frantically. "Y-Yes, sir. They left earlier."
Vader's eyes narrowed. He was suspicious of Fouquet's earlier testament about stalling them, and this seemed like confirmation of his suspicions. "They went ahead, leaving us behind?" he said, his voice laced with frustration. "Something is not right here."
Guiche, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "Wait a minute," he said, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "Remember what Fouquet did earlier? She caused a commotion and delayed us, which gave Wardes enough time to slip away with Louise unnoticed. Maybe they're accomplices!"
Vader nodded, impressed by Guiche's deductive skills. "It's possible," he said. "We need to find out more about this. Let's move."
The group made their way back to the inn where they had been staying, their minds racing with the possibilities. They needed to get to Albion as soon as possible and uncover the truth behind Wardes and Fouquet's actions. But for now, they would have to regroup and come up with a plan.
That's about it for this chapter. Not gonna lie, things are getting dicey here. How will our heroes catch up to Wardes and Louise now? What is Wardes real motive? You're gonna have to find out in the next chapter! Also for anyone wondering, Vader x Louise is definitely not going to be a thing. Vader is literally more than double Louise's age, so I don't want Chris Hansen showing up and telling Vader to take a seat. Just wanted to clarify that. Anyways, be sure to let me know what you think of the story so far!
