Quirk: Chakra

Author's Notes: Here is the new chapter. A little early from my previous chapter as not an entire week is over. Honestly, I have written upto 4 chapters and they are just sitting there waiting to be rechecked and posted so I might make frequent updates here. Chapter 5 is also halfway done.

As I've said. This story has been on my mind for quite a while. And when I write it, it just comes so naturally to me. It's so easy to write so much when just words flow and make sense. I might be using up my "writer's imagination" a lot and might end up with a block soon, so I will try to control myself from just uploading all the chapters right this instance so you guys have something while I deal with my block.

As always, drop a review if you think something could be better. And don't forget to follow for future updates. Enjoy.

Chapter 2: Entrance Exam and A New Friend.

UA High.

"This is it, Izuku. We are finally taking the practical exam.", I said to my friend who was standing beside me. Over the months of training, Izuku has shown a lot of progress. With little help from me and a lot of motivation, he cleared the beach ahead of schedule. In the last few days All Might had us spar and tell him ours and each others weaknesses afterwards. He then got rid of most of them through more training. On the last day, he told us to land a single clean hit against him as a team. Adapting on the fly, we showed him great teamwork and managed to graze him several times, but unfortunately didn't accomplish our task.

On that day, All Might had asked me to go ahead a bit as he wanted to talk to Izuku. Knowing it wasn't any of my business I walked ahead. But I was curious as to what can the two talk about that is so confidential. Putting the thought in the back of mind I walked on. Sometime later Izuku caught up to me on the station and now we find ourselves standing in front of an auditorium where we will be briefed on our practical exam.

"Yeah… kinda makes me nervous.", my friend replied.

"Don't worry, it'll all be good.", I said as I started towards the hall. Behind me Izuku took some seconds before following me. I could tell he was extremely nervous through his chakra. Before he could reach me he tripped over his own foot. I tried to whip around and prevent his fall but I was too late. Fortunately, a hand slapped itself on his shoulder and Izuku started floating just off the ground. The hand belonged to a bubbly girl with bob-cut brown hair and brown irises. Her cheeks were adorned with perpetual blush marks.

She grabbed Izuku's shoulder and made him upright. "Sorry for using my quirk on you without your permission. But since you were going to fall I thought you wouldn't mind. After all, falling on your big day is bad luck."

"Thank you, miss…", I interjected.

"Uraraka, Ochako Uraraka", she replied.

"Thank you, miss Uraraka, for saving my friend from such embarrassment.", I said with a smile. I knew Izuku was actually tongue tied so I needed to do something to make him talk. "Won't you say 'thank you', bro?"

He got out of his… whatever that was and quickly bowed, "T-t-thank y-you, U-Uraraka-san!", he said quickly.

Uraraka gave a confused smile to which I mouthed ff to her that he's a little shy around girls. She understood and gave him a genuine smile. "It's no problem. Anyway, we are getting late for our briefing."

"Oh yes. I almost forgot. Come, you idiot.", I said to Izuku.

"Y-yes, after you, my lady.", he retorted, to me.

"Shut up, idiot. We are getting late."

"Right."

I could feel the confusion in Uraraka's chakra at our interaction but didn't say anything as she walked ahead of us. We both were walking side-by-side when we heard a loud yell, "Out of my damned way, shitty Deku.". I could practically feel the ill intent oozing out of the owner of this voice even without my sensing ability.

Izuku stiffened up and tried to move out of the way but I wrapped an arm around his shoulder and kept us walking in a straight line towards the auditorium.

"Oi, haven't you heard me, I said out of the way!", the person called out again. I was well aware of this person. This was Katsuki Bakugo, he used to be mine and Izuku's friend but became a bully instead. So I had no intention of obeying his command. I slowed down our pace, just to annoy him.

He came close to us and tried to grab Izuku's shoulder but I had us dodge the grab using my chakra sensing ability. I slowly turned around. "Need something, Katsuki-chan?"

He was close to blowing up but I knew he wouldn't dare attack first in UA. Especially when his admission was at stake. So, just for fun, I poked him, verbally.

"Get out of my way, you extras.", he demanded.

Izuku nudged my side but I didn't budge. Instead I tried to provoke him, "Or what? You will attack us in front of so many witnesses?", I said pointing at the other students that were looking our way.

He looked around and glared at me. Then he huffed and went around us. "That'll teach him.", I told Izuku.

"Maybe you shouldn't have made him angry?", said Izuku as we resumed our trek towards the auditorium.

"Tell me, Izuku. Is bullying good?", I asked. The only obvious and correct answer was 'No'.

"He is ju-", I cut him off.

"Yes or No.", I said sternly.

"No…", came the reply.

"Is he a bully?"

"Yes…"

"What do you aspire to be?"

"A hero…"

"Shouldn't a hero stand up to a bully?"

"… Yes…"

"Then why the hell are you defending him? And don't tell me because he's your friend."

"I don't know… I guess I still see some good in him."

"The world may not be black and white, and you are right to try and find the good in him. But you are not trying to be a judge, jury or executioner. You are trying to be a hero. A law enforcer. And as such you have to subdue first and ask questions later."

"Hmm…", was his response as we entered the hall and took our seats. Fortunately, we were away from Katsuki.

Just as everyone had taken their seats, the stage became a light show and from the side emerged a walking, talking stereo, Present Mic. He tried to rile the crowd but was met with silence. I couldn't help but find it funny and a few giggles escaped from me. Beside me Izuku was on his muttering rant, theorizing about the speaker's quirk and listing off it's heroic deeds.

I shushed him and the speaker continued. At the end of the speech, it was taking questions and a hand rose up robotically. At the speaker's permission a boy rose up with eyeglasses and blue hair. His uniform told me he was from Somei Middle School. He objected that the speaker had forgotten to mention the fourth machine, to which it explained that it was not important. The boy was satisfied by the speaker's answer then turned towards us. "You two, there. Stop your snickering and muttering. It's distracting to other students who are trying to focus on the actual exam. If that's all you are good for then I would suggest you to leave."

He irked me. I wanted to give mock him but settled for belittling, "If your attention span is so short that you can get easily distracted by small noises then I suggest you leave here. Otherwise you might put a lot of people's lives in danger in the future. And by the way, your actions suggest you are a disciplinarian, that is not hero material. There is a difference between the two."

He would've said something more, but the living speaker interjected, "Before things get out of hands, let's end that little feud here. Now, anybody else has any questions?"

For the entirety of the explanation something had bugged me about this exam. I voiced my concerns by raising my hand, "I have noticed that this practical exam leans too heavily towards destruction. What about support? If everyone is competing to get as many points in the given time then who is even going to think of supporting others? Lastly, why are there only villain points? I can see that whoever aces this exam has a high possibility of becoming a villain themselves. What about Hero Points? Shouldn't a potential student's potential be measured by how much 'heroic spirit' they posses? Are the standards that low in UA High?"

There was pin-drop-silence in the entire auditorium. Everyone's chakra around me was still in shock. Even the living speaker was too shocked to say anything in response. I don't really care if they disqualify me for saying this, I didn't even want to partake in the exam, I was doing it for dad. But if they do, then I will sue this fucking high school into oblivion with support from many people whom they have failed in the past. I know my fair share of politics to make it happen.

Izuku beside me was flabbergasted, but his chakra suggested he understood what I meant, the only one to do so in the last fifteen seconds of silence. The blue haired disciplinarian four eyes was gobsmacked like his entire world had shattered around him. Katsuki was stunned to, but his state was different than others. He took that as a possible threat to his ascension to the title of Number 1 Hero. He's always like that. I recognized the chakra of the girl we met outside and she was, like the rest, silent.

After what felt like eternity, the speaker cleared his throat, "Ahem. That was… uh… those were… uh… greats questions… number… 2379…"

"2376", I corrected him.

"Oh, yes. My mistake, sorry… so… uh… the answer to your question…'

Before he could embarrass himself more, a rat/panda/bear looking thing came out of the side wall. "Present Mic, I'll take it from here.", that thing said in a pleasant voice and proceeded to climbing up the towering living speaker and held the mic up to his face, "Number 2376, I believe your name is Sakazuki Reito?"

"That is correct, sir.", I said respectfully, not really knowing what this thing was so I didn't risk it.

"Right. Reito-kun, you have raised excellent points. And I take full responsibility for this blunder. However, I have to state that there are Hero Points. They are not just shown because we want to see who will go out of their way to help someone when there is only loss. Your point about support is sound as well, though it can be counted among Hero Points but assists and saves are two different things. From the next year I will be making several changes to this system so that people with non-combat oriented quirks can also hope for a better future."

I raised my hand again but decided against it as it will be in vain. I nodded, "Thank you for taking your time to explain this and please forgive me for disrupting your exam process and hinting people towards Hero Points. I can see that was a necessary deception and I have made it void."

"Never apologize for being the smartest person in the room. You are clearly very intelligent. I look forward to how you do in this exam."

"Thank you for the compliment, even though I don't think of myself as intelligent, and once again please forgive me for disrupting the process."

"It's alright. Now that this is finished, is there anyone else who would like to ask a question?", nobody rose their hand, which prompted the animal to continue. "Alright, then. You will be given entry cards on which you will find the battle center you are assigned to. Students of the same school will be separated into different battle centers. You will be transported to your location via the buses standing outside. Good luck, everyone. Especially you, Reito-kun."

It's tone may have sounded devilish at the end, but that was a facade. It's chakra suggested that it was genuine curiosity. How do I know that? Don't ask me. Half the time I don't even know how my powers work, they just do and I never question them.

Any way, everyone present filed out of the auditorium and boarded their assigned buses. A few minutes later we were at our battle center. It was good luck that Izuku was beside me as he was assigned to the same center as me. He must've spotted someone and walked towards her. I looked around and of course it was the girl. I let him have that moment as he had finally developed some courage to talk to a girl. I felt someone's chakra fluctuate between angry and conflicted but I pay it no mind.

Just them the living speaker was walking up some sort of stage. I called my friend over and have him stick by me and told him my plan to get him at least 30 points. Just then the gate to the mock city opened up and the speaker spoke.

"What are you guys waiting for? There is no countdown in actual situations. Your time has started."

At the living speaker's words some looked on in confusion including Izuku, I just grabbed his collar and dragged him into the urban setting at my top speed. "Listen up. Just like I have explained before, stick by me. I will take care of the 1 and 2-pointers and subdue 3-pointers so you can take them out."

"Isn't that a little too difficult for me?", my friend asked uncertainly.

Still my grip on his collar, I kept dragging him through the 'enemy lines', cutting up all the small fries on my way using my Wind Jutsu. "I have studied there specs and ascertained their weaknesses, something you didn't do.", I told him. His expression looked embarrassed but inside he was berating himself for overlooking such things. "Anyway, you have to take a piece of iron, any trash lying around would do, and jam it in between their collars and necks. Their cores are located at where heart should be."

Until now I had "killed" five 2-pointers and fifteen 1-pointers, that gives me 25 points. I thought that might be enough as I will also be helping many fellow hopefuls out, so at least my rescue points might even it out. My explanation seemed to be enough for my friend as I spotted a 3-pointer. I whipped out the cutting edge in my wind and sliced off it's locomotory appendages. That's the best I can describe them as without proper knowledge of these things.

Izuku got the idea and picked up a charred platting that was pointed at one end and long enough to pierce the cores of these machines. Carefully side stepping the machines attack, Izuku jammed the piece where I told him to and the 3-pointer was no more.

His face looked like he was a child and won the candy lottery. I shook him out of it as I spotted another 3-pointer and subdued it, motioning Izuku to finish the rest.

Meanwhile, seconds after I had barged in the rest followed and started cleaning out the robots I left behind. I saw a girl melting a robot with her acid-like quirk. The four eyes was kicking through them like no tomorrow. A kid was using a fucking laser on his stomach like a gattling gun. Then I spotted Miss Uraraka, she was floating the robots high into the air with her anti gravity quirk and slamming them down hard. Once or twice her 'kill' was stolen and she looked angry but kept on going.

I kept on spotting and subduing the 3-pointers for Izuku until I was sure I had more than ten for him. Then I 'killed' a few more myself. About half way through the exam, the ground started to rumble.

Some of the participants fell on their asses, including my boy, while the rest kept looking for the source of it. In seconds, we all saw a giant robot, standing taller than the highest building in the entire battle center and using lower buildings as supports. 'This is the fucking 0-pointer?', I thought to myself.

"R-Reito, should… uh… should we r-run?", asked my friend.

"That's the more logical reaction, yes.", I said, before a grin formed on my face, "But where would be the fun in that?"

Before I could continue, however, among the scattering participants, we heard a scream. Izuku and I quickly spotted the source. It was Miss Uraraka, pinned down by some rubble. Rubble that must have dropped on her when the robot placed it's hand on the building. I wanted to curse at UA for something so hazardous but I held my tongue. Right now there was someone in danger.

"Izuku, I want you to… Izuku?", I turned to my friend, who was nowhere to be found. First I thought he might have ran away but then I heard an explosion. Whipping my head upwards I saw my friend… flying through or rather leaping through the air at mach speed… and punching the robot into oblivion.

Suffice it to say I was stunned. The quirk-less Deku, whom I have been helping to get into UA, just punched away a fucking 0-pointer! Has my life always been a lie?

I had no more time to dwell on that train of thought as I approached the pinned down girl, who managed to pry herself free. I kept my eyes up and saw that my friend didn't have any control to his fall. Then I sensed chakra flare to my right as the girl used the piece of rubber as a platform to float up. I guess she was trying to save my friend.

"Don't worry miss. I know how to take care of my friend.", I said as I calmed her down.

Feeling the wind whip around me, I took control of it. This was something I had recently discovered and haven't tried it out, making tornadoes. I just needing to control it enough to bring me up to Izuku's height and catch him with space to break his downward momentum.

The wind picked up speed as it kept whipping around me faster and faster until my feet left the ground. Forcing all my chakra into it, I hoisted myself up, just in time to catch my friend in a bridal carry and break his momentum and land back on the ground.

"Th-th-thanks, bro", he said weakly.

"You have some explaining to do, 'bro'", I pointed out. He winced at my tone.

"Are… are you alright, Izuku?", the girl asked.

"Y-yeah, Ochako. I'm-I'm fine.", he replied, which looked like a lie when you look at his condition. Three broken limbs isn't something one would call "Fine".

A short statured, old lady came towards us, saying something about 'troublesome children' and handing out bear-shaped gummies to everyone she passed by. She seemed like a nice lady. Said lady approached us.

"And what do we have here. Are you suicidal, boy?", she asked Izuku.

"N-no. My quirk just a-activated on it's own. I-I had no control.", he quickly explained.

"It's alright, kid. I was just joking.", she said as she proceeded to smack her lips… and fucking extended them like a tentacle and Izuku in his forehead. I was sure tat Izuku would be a stuttering mess due to the affectionate action. But his eyes had stars in them.

"You're- You're Recovery Girl! Best medic in Japan who can heal almost any injury at the… cost of… stamina.", he finished before he fainted. His explanation was enough for not to worry about his sudden loss of consciousness.

The lady turned to Miss Uraraka and did the same to her, causing her face to light up in red and she quickly bowed, "Thank you so much Recovery Girl."

"Oh it's no problem. Anyways, you can take him to my infirmary for rest. I didn't know he was out of stamina.", the lady turned to me and Izuku, who was still in a bridal carry in my arms. I nodded and started walking towards the gate.

In an observation room.

"It seems the plain looking kid in Battle Center B has taken the spotlight today.", said a man in a gas mask and cowboy hat.

"Indeed he has. But remember, we have to be unbiased in our grading.", replied a man in a beige trench coat with black skin and yellow lines going down his face. "What's your opinion, principal Nezu?"

The mouse-bear looking animal hummed and turned towards another man who was standing in a dark corner with dead looking eyes, unkempt hair and a long scarf going around his neck. "What do you think, Aizawa-kun? Does he have the potential?"

"In my opinion, the only way he can prove that is if I test him myself. Throughout the practical exam he was being carried by his friend who has helped him gaining a lot of points he couldn't have gotten himself. I want to test him without any crutch. However, his friend has a lot of potential for being an all-rounder. As unconventional his quirk is, he has gained a quite a bit of control over it. He can sense others chakra as well, right?", he asked the now known principal, who nodded in confirmation, "A lot of potential indeed."

"Not only his strength, but his mind is quite perceptive as well. He deduced the real point of the practical exam and pointed out it's short comings. I'm impressed he corrected my own mistakes that I had over-looked.", said the principal, "His friend on the other hand does have potential but it would take a bit of hard work to get him to control his quirk."

"It's apparent that both of them are going to pass nonetheless. Should I take them in my class, principal Nezu?", asked a woman in a risque outfit and triangular glasses.

"I would have given them both to you, if not for candidate number 2377's self-destructiveness. And I can't separate them either, seeing that they make a good duo.", replied the rat-thing.

"Too bad. I would've loved to nurture them~", she said in a disturbingly seductive tone.

"It seems the remaining Battle Centers have finished their exams. Shall we start grading?", asked the man in the trench coat.

"Of course.", came the principal's reply.

I was waiting for my friend to gain consciousness as I was sitting beside his bed. I couldn't help but think back to his sudden jump and punch, 'All this time I had known he was quirk-less. What changed now? Is he a late bloomer?', I looked at him, 'No that can't be right. He was diagnosed to not possess a quirk. He cannot just randomly activate one. If I hadn't known him I would have said that his quirk is some sort of energy accumulation that got unleashed when his adrenaline pumped, but that's not possible with him being clinically quirk-less.'

I looked at the clock, '4 pm. Looks like we will be late getting home after all. And my aunt had even cooked up a feast and invited Inko-san.', I then looked back at the sleeping form of my friend with a furrowed eyebrows, 'Did this happen because of All Might? Somehow transferred him strength? That hero has been elusive about his quirk for forever. Does that come into the equation when comparing All Might weakest punch in an actual fight to Izuku's strongest?'. The theories kept coming to me one after the other. And with every theory, I began to doubt Izuku and the number one her more and more.

'Honestly, I will only get answers from this idiot when he wakes up.', I thought as I put aside my previous grievances. I waited for the next hour before Izuku finally woke up and started checking his surroundings.

"Back from the dead, huh?", I said to him, making him squeak and turn to me. "We are in the nurse's office. Now that you're awake we should vacate the premises.", I told him as I picked up our bags.

"R-right…", he said as he slowly got up, staring a hole through the floor, and followed me outside.

Our way home was filled with silence. We didn't speak at all. I didn't know why but I felt like he would break if I don't talk to him for some time. Not that I was angry with him. I was just curious and making him think I was angry with him might prompt him to spill his guts. I know, I'm not a good friend if I do that, but Psychological warfare is where I shine best.

Eventually we reach my home. Opening the door we were welcomed by my family and Inko-san. Their expressions looked worried and relieved at the same time.

"Welcome home, warriors!", exclaimed the children as the ran up to us. We instinctively knelt down and hugged them. This was a sort of ritual for them. Every time we came from our training they always greeted us like this. It was sweet of them.

"What took you two so long? Don't tell me you went to a restaurant to celebrate.", called out my aunt. Always the one to jump to wrong conclusions.

"Izuku is the reason we are late. We spent more than two hours in the infirmary since he had lost consciousness.", I told them the truth.

It had the expected effect. Aunt began checking my friend over and berating him at the same time while Inko-san just fretted over him and kept asking him questions. "Psychological warfare is the way to go.', I thought sinisterly.

"Is it okay to throw your friend to the sharks like that?", asked uncle as him and dad walked over to me. Children had gone off to the living room to play.

"He deserved it after what he pulled in the exam.", I said loud enough for him to hear over his mother's and auntie's fretting and berating, respectively. I felt his chakra twitch in pain.

"Must be some stunt for you to add fuel to the fire like that. What'd he do?", asked my dad.

"No comments.", I said as I went to my room. I felt their chakra oozing confusion. In just a few seconds I had targeted my entire family, barring the two children, I would never fo that to them, I have standards.

After a quick shower I came out with Izuku sitting between his mother and my aunt, being berated for his reckless action, 'I guess he told them what happened'. He must've showered in another bathroom because he looked clean enough.

Throughout the lunch I didn't speak to him, continuing to give him the cold shoulder. 'What am I, his girlfriend?', I thought with disdain at myself.

Finishing up I stood and walked to the main door. Turning around I addressed Izuku, "I'm going to the beach, wanna come?"

"O-oh… yeah, s-sure.", he replied and quickly followed me out.

Our walk there was filled with silence again, until he broke it, "Listen, I-", but I cut him off.

"We'll talk at the beach, Izuku.", I told him sternly.

He kept silent after that. Reaching our usual spot that now looked clean helped me cool down and think rationally. We stepped down to the sand and walked until the waves touched our feet.

I turned to my friend, "Alright, let's talk. Or should I say, spill.", I said and he twitched under my gaze. I saw through his expression that the gears in his head were turning, trying to come up with a lie, but then he sighed. I could tell he was going to be honest now.

"Look. I know how this looks like. I have to say, firstly, I wasn't lying to you when I said I am quirk-less. Secondly…" he trailed off after that. I picked up on his reluctance and finished the sentence for him.

"The quirk you showed isn't your own, but something transferred to you by someone else.", he flinched. 'Must have hit the nail on the proverbial head', I thought to myself and gave one last shock to him, "And that someone is All Might."

He widened his eyes and tried to say something but he just bowed his hand in defeat, "Yes…"

"Figured that was the case.", I said shrugging my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I kept it from you.", he said slowly.

"You damned well should be, you fucking Deku.", I growled a little causing him to flinch, "If you would've told me that beforehand I might have come up with a plan to make better use of your quirk and save you the pain of breaking your fucking limbs, you idiot!"

He shrunk in on himself like a turtle. I continued, "If not for looking after your ass I might have even searched for a chakra signature I spotted that was shining like a beacon! I was damned sure it was a girl!"

"Huh…?", he stopped to look at me with a dumbfounded look.

"I lost my chance to meet a girl and I don't even know if I will meet her in class. I will never forgive you if that happens!", I exclaimed. Seriously, he had taken away my chance. I didn't even get to register her chakra and it would be illegal to stalk her.

"That's why you're mad?", Izuku asked me with confusion.

"Yes!", I growled at him.

"I see. So, you don't have any problem with me getting a quirk from All Might?"

"After what I have seen, you deserve it more than even All Might himself. Be proud of that."

He looked like on the verge of tears at my casual dismissal of his withholding of critical information. Before he could start the water-works I quickly changed the subject.

"Wanna hit the arcade? I heard they are doing an exhibition of a new game. Ten coins free for everyone."

"Yes, I'd like that. Let's go", he said as he quickly dried his accumulating tears.

Bakugo Residence.

Katsuki Bakugo was unable to comprehend what that extras was talking about as he was sitting at his desk. Some Hero bullshit that he was spewing got him to be noticed by the fucking principal of that fucking school. That shitty extra had stolen his thunder. Because of that he was only able to score 60 points before the time was over.

If not for that bitch he would have been focused on destroying more of those shitty robots. But something… something about his speech bugged him. It was like an alarm ringing, trying to wake him up. From what, he did not know. All he knew was that he was lacking in some way and that shitty extra had reminded him of it.

'No use thinking about it. If it's important it will come up again, eventually.', he thought as he went to bed.

It had been a week since the practical exam and I could tell that Izuku was beginning to get anxious. The reason being his idol hadn't contacted him since. If I was in his position I would be anxious as well, but this was getting ridiculous.

Currently my friend was pacing in his room muttering frantically and texting his mentor. He looked like a girl waiting for a reply from her crush. It was amusing at first but now it was getting annoying. I had to do something.

"Shut the fuck up, dude. Take a fucking chill pill. You're giving me a headache.", I called out to him as I hoisted my head up from his bed putting away my own phone. "He will contact you once he's not busy. You know damn well that he is not someone who would avoid you of all people."

"I know. But what if I have failed and he doesn't want to talk to me anymore?", he said.

"Really?", I gave him a deadpan look, "Do you really believe that?"

"No, but it is a possibility."

"It would have been a possibility if you had hurt someone intentionally during the exam. And as far as I know, you haven't!"

He sighed and looked down, "Hah… you're right."

"And stop your worrying, you look like a girl and it's getting creepy."

He didn't retort as he took the chair of his desk and pulled it out. Before he could sit, though, heavy knocking came from the door along with Inko-san's voice, "Izuku, open up. It here. Your result is here!"

Faster than I have ever seen him move he reached his door and opened it up. Inko-san had her hands extended and holding an envelope. "This just arrived.", she said as she handed it over to my bro.

"Thanks, mom."

"I'll be in the living room so you can have your privacy, alright?"

"Yeah. Thanks again, mom.", he shut the door behind him as he said that and walked over to his desk. Somehow, he managed to rip the envelope in half while fumbling with opening it. A round puck-like object dropped from it and rolled to a stop on the desk.

From it came out a hologram video. I was sure this was a recording but you can never tell with the technology at UA. It might even be live feed.

"I am here, as a hologram projection!", came the loud voice of none other than All Might. "Hello, young Midorya. I am here to announce your results. I was planning on telling you your Villain Points and put you into suspense after telling you your points weren't enough. But! I was informed of your friend's speech during the briefing and know that you are aware of the supposed-to-be-hidden Hero Points.", before he could continue a hand appeared from the side causing him to pause and look at the person it belonged to. "What? Wrap it up? How many do I have to do? Hoh! That's a lot. Alright, I'll be quick."

He then turned his attention back towards the camera, "Anyways, as I was saying, You have impressed me with your show of both heroics and destructive prowess. In total, you have collected 30 Villain Points and 65 Hero Points for saving that girl. In total, you have gotten 95 points. That's an impressive record you have set, which was immediately broken by your friend. Placing you at second place."

Izuku was gobsmacked. He didn't have words to describe how he was feeling. He robotically turned towards me and then back towards the hologram. "That's right young Midorya. You have been accepted into UA High. From now on, this is Your Hero Academia!".

I, for one, was impressed. If Izuku had set a record which was broken by me and he had placed second, that meant I was first. How many points did I get? It must be over a hundred.

"This message will now self-destruct.", came a robotic voice from the device just before it blew up, raising smoke everywhere.

We both got out of the room leaving the door open behind us and ran into the living room coughing our lungs out. Inko-san had a look of worry on her face, "Don't worry, Inko-san. Neither of us are hurt. It was not a bomb anyway."

At my assurance she somewhat looked relieved. "What's the result?", she asked.

Before Izuku can just plainly tell her the numbers it wouldn't have an impact. So instead I interrupted him and spoke instead, gotta build up suspense and sense of scale, "About that. I will tell you. The most amount of points that a single person can gain in the practical exam is one hundred and twenty.", she nodded at my explanation, getting anxious by the second, "Izuku… has gotten… 95 points, placing him in the second position!", I exclaimed ending the suspense.

I wouldn't have done what I had done if I knew Inko-san would faint from this. That's exactly what happened as she slumped backwards. Thankfully behind her was the sofa she had just stood up from.

Standing there, I felt guilt as Izuku went to her to check if she alright. I did too.

After what felt like eternity, she came around. "What… happened?"

"You fainted, mom.", Izuku answered her.

Her memory cleared up and her eyes widened, looking at her son in shock and surprise. "Izuku, was that… true?", she asked, almost uncertain look on her face.

"Yes, mom. I did it. I passed.", he replied as his water-works began.

Copying him, Inko-san's did as well. Both mother and son wrapped their arms around each other and kept weeping. The scene was quite heart breaking for me. Growing up, I never met my mother. She had died while giving birth to me. And it was a quite a brutal death. I have always blamed myself for it, despite the doctor saying it was a deformity in her womb that killed her.

I never bought that story. I felt bad for her. Father have repeatedly told me she loved me very much. That much I can believe, because even though she could've survived if they aborted me, she went through the pain of birthing me. She had sacrificed herself for me. But every time I think about her I can't help but feel guilty.

Seeing these two reminded me of her. Then I realized my result must have arrived as well. I didn't want to disturb them so I slowly walked out of the apartment and closed the door behind me.

On my way home I kept thinking back to that heart warming scene. I wanted some of that. Her chakra had even drawn me in. Her warm motherly embrace felt so… so… honestly I had no words to describe it. I t was a pleasant feeling. And I wanted that. The only problem is, do I deserve that love and care? Am I someone who should even be loved? These thoughts plagued me all the way home.

As I opened the main gate I was greeted by auntie, putting something back into the mail box. "Invading my privacy now?", I called out to her. She squeaked and whirled around to face me.

"Whaat! No! Why-why-why would you think that?", she feigned ignorance.

"Because I am pretty certain that the letter you just pushed into the mail box is addressed to me and knowing you, you must have seen the contents already.", she flinched at my deduction, proving me correct. "Guess you didn't want the gifts I was planing on buying for everyone to celebrate my failure.", I said with mock grief.

"Who said you failed? You have taken the top spot in that exam!", she said, before she realized that she just admitted her crime.

I turned a dangerous glare at her, "Does that mean the device has self-destructed?", I asked menacingly. She audibly gulped as she nodded her head quickly. "… Whatever.", I said shrugging it off.

My unprecedented reaction must have caught her off guard. She face planted and I just walked inside the house. There dad greeted me. "Hey, son. Listen. I'm sorry about my sister… son, are you alright?", he wanted to apologize about my aunt but began to worry when he saw my dead expression.

"Yes, dad. Nothing to worry about.", I answered him.

"I know that look, son.", he said, hinting that he knew what I was thinking about.

I didn't answer him and just went to my room in a solemn mood. Not talking to any one. It's ironic, really. I have placed first and set a record in the most difficult exam in Japan and here I was moping and grieving my mother's loss whom I have never known personally. Izuku had once told me his about his life after elementary school, saying that life wasn't fair. Now I believe him. Life is truly unfair.
