Harry had expected to be forced back to the Dursley's home as he had been every summer, but that was not the plan anymore.
"Harry, the wards created by your mother's sacrifice would not provide the protection that Potter Manor would."
"I thought that the blood ward was the strongest ward there was?"
"At the time for you it was, but with all of these changes, Potter Manor is the safest place in the entire world for you. It is unplottable and the wards are almost as strong as Hogwarts itself. Your grandfather Fleamont and his best friend Arcturus Black created the wards. They were two of the most skilled wizards we had seen in many ages. Both ruthless on both the battle field and in the political arena."
"So how do we get to Potter Manor?"
"The ring should take you there. All you need to do is think about it and the ring should do the rest," said Dumbledore as he grabbed Harry's shoulder. Harry thought for a moment before his insides felt like they were being rearranged. In a quick moment, he found himself standing outside the doors of a massive mansion.
"It is just as I remember it," said Albus. "Come Harry, we must get the wards powered back up. You also need to take charge of them."
"How do I do that?"
"We need to find the warding stone. It is probably in the basement. That is where most are."
The two wandered around the interior of the Manor and Harry was in awe of how well the building had been kept. It did make Harry wonder how it was so well maintained. They found their way into the basement and before they could approach the Warding Stone, a frying pan came flying at Dumbledore.
"Your are not allowed in here," yelled a deep voice coming from the dark.
"I am Harry James Potter, Lord of the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter," yelled Harry.
"Proves it," yelled the voice.
Harry held up his right hand.
"That is not the family ring."
"It is but is joined by another. I am Lord Potter-Black. Now reveal yourself!"
Albus and Harry looked around and saw movement coming out of a dark corner. They watched as a very old looking house elf walked out of the shadows.
"You look like Master Fleamont and Master James."
"I am Harry. I am not sure if I had ever visited here before."
"I have not seens you since yous was a baby," said the house elf. "Finally, the manor has a new Master!"
"Are you the one who has been keeping the place maintained?"
"That I have sir."
"What is your name?"
"Frederick, Master."
"Ok, first rule. No referring to me as Master. Harry will be fine, but if that is too informal for you, then sir will be fine."
"Of course sir. Can I be getting you anything?"
"I need to know how to charge the Warding Stone?"
"Place your ring to the stone. Magic be doing the rest," said Frederick.
Harry walked up to the stone and did as the house elf had stated. He felt as the stone began to pull energy from Harry. He could feel his body getting weak as he felt the connection to the wards strengthen. After five minutes, Harry collapsed to the ground exhausted.
"What the hell," said Harry trying to catch his breath.
"It takes a great deal of magic to power wards."
"You couldn't help me," asked Harry, looking a little annoyed.
"Unfortunately, not with these. The wards could only be powered by a member of the manor family. The fact that you are still conscious is a testament to how powerful you are. Restoring wards like that would usually render someone unconscious.
"Now you tell me," said Harry as he stood up.
"I apologize my boy. But now you are fully warded. No one will be able to find you now. That is unless you want them to. There should be a ward book that will allow you to give permission to those you want to give access to."
"That would be in the Master's office. Come, let me show you," said Frederick. The two followed the elf back upstairs. They walked past the large kitchen and dining room. Harry also noticed many paintings being covered. They finally reached the Master's Office.
"The ward book be in the first drawer on the left hand side."
Harry opened the drawer and found the book along with a quill. He opened the book and found a long list of names listed in the book. Most of them were listed as deceased. There were a few names that were in the book that Harry did not know, so he removed them from the book. His name was permanently etched in gold in the book as the Master of the Manor. He found that Dumbledore was already on the register. He then added a few names of people he would love to have visit him."
"Well Harry, this has been a very eventful day. I think we both could use with a little bit of rest. I would like to meet you tomorrow morning to discuss plans for the summer, if you would be open to that."
"I think that would be appreciated Professor. There are still so many questions I have."
"And I may have some of the answers. We will have to reach out to others to help you with some of your questions."
"I take it you have people in mind," said Harry.
"I do. We shall discuss this tomorrow. For now…"
Dumbledore was not able to finish his sentence as Harry began shaking his head and wincing. Harry was grabbing his head as if he had the worst headache imaginable.
"What is wrong Harry?"
"Voices calling out. Something isn't right. They are scared."
"Who Harry?"
Harry still shook his head until he stopped and his head shot. Dumbledore noticed that Harry's eyes began to glow, almost as if they had flames in them. The green was starting to brighten.
"Hermione!"
As soon as he yelled her name, Harry's body was surrounded by green flames and he vanished. Dumbledore was shocked at what had just happened, but before he was able to react, a bright patronus arrived in front of him.
"Coordinated attacks happening," came the voice of Kingsley Shacklebolt. "Weasleys, Bones, and Davis' confirmed as targets so far."
Dumbledore knew he had to assist someone. He also knew that Harry had gone off, probably to the Granger residence. He knew he needed to get there first. With a pop, Dumbledore vanished and appeared in front of the Granger home. He heard screams and rushed inside. What he found was chaos. Harry was standing over a body of a Death Eater, his hands covered in blood. The mask of the Death Eater was crushed into the owners face. Another Death Eater had been launched through a wall and out a window. Harry screamed out again and was gone in another flash. Dumbledore rushed over to Hermione and her parents.
"Are you alright Ms. Granger?"
"They were going to kill us, but then Harry showed up. He showed up in green flames and his face was full of rage. I have never seen him like that. He blasted the first one through the wall and out the window and then he simply started pummeling that one with his fists. What happened to him?"
"I am not sure. That is one of many questions I have right now. There are other attacks happening at this time. This appears to be an coordinated attack. Did Harry say anything before he vanished again?"
"He just yelled out for the voices to stop and then he vanished," said Mrs. Granger. "Is that normal?"
"No. No it is not. Will you three be alright until I can send someone over to secure this area?"
"We can go into the basement until they arrive. What do we do if these two wake up," asked Mr. Granger.
Dumbledore waved his wands and the two unconscious bodies were bound in chains. "That should hold them for the time being. I will inform whomever arrives that they must use a passcode."
"Seeker," said Hermione.
"Then it shall be. Please move to the basement. I shall return soon I hope."
"Please find Harry sir," said Hermione.
"That is one of my top priorities at this moment."
2 hours Later
Dumbledore arrived back at Potter Manor and found Harry sitting in the rain in the gardens. He was soaked and shaking when Dumbledore walked up to him.
"What is happening to me," cried out Harry. "I'm losing control."
"Harry, let's get inside and you can tell me what happened."
The two walked inside and Dumbledore waved his wand and the two were dry. They made their way into the kitchen where Frederick was preparing tea for the two of them.
"Now, let's start from the moment you vanished from here," said Dumbledore. "What caused that?"
"I heard voices in my head calling out for help. It was chaos in my mind. I was trying to fight it and then I heard one voice I recognized immediately. It was Hermione crying out for help and screaming. The next thing I knew, I was in her house. I saw two Death Eaters and it was like my mind was not my own. I raised my arm at the first one and the next thing I know, a blast of magic came out of my arm and sent him through a wall."
"Two walls and a window," interrupted Dumbledore.
"Right. This shocked the other one who was in front of Hermione and her parents. I didn't use magic on them. I was so angry and felt my body trembling in rage that I pounced at them and just started punching. I've never done that before. I only stopped when Hermione begged me too, and then the voices came back. I cried out to have them stop and asked who they were. That's when I vanished again. Then I ended up at a house I had never seen before."
"Do you know now whose it was?"
"Katie Bell's. Again, two Death Eaters. They had severely injured her father. They looked to be torturing her mother while she was tied up. Sir, my body was on auto pilot because I did almost the same thing as at Hermione's. I sent the first one crashing through two marble columns and then I kicked the second one into another column. I untied Katie, and did some sort of healing magic on her father. I have no idea what I did."
"After that, did you come back here?"
"I wish it had ended there. More voices. They were becoming more clear as I had two less voices in my head. The next stop on my psychotic break tour was Susan Bones. They had six attacking them. I may have gone a little overboard there and her aunt probably will want to arrest me."
"Why would you say that."
Harry looked down into his tea cup and his breathing became erratic.
"I killed three of the Death Eaters, and I didn't use magic. I killed them with my hands sir."
Harry started sobbing at the fact that he had taken the life of three people. It was an admirable quality of the young man. Even though the assailants were ready to kill Susan and Amelia Bones, Harry felt guilt in taking their lives.
"It is never easy taking a life Harry. I know from experience. War brings out the worst in us. We feel the pain everytime we have to cross a line that we never want to. I am sure Amelia will not be trying to arrest you. You saved her and Susan, correct?"
"Yeah. They are both alive. I vanished just as aurors showed up. Then I was on to the next voice. This is one that baffles me. I know of the person, but I have never had a conversation with her ever. Probably because she is in Slytherin. I still have no idea who she was. I just did as in the other houses. They had four Death Eaters and they had her family at wand point while they were forcing her father to sign documents. This time, I did use my wand and again, two ended up slammed against stone walls and one ended up crashing into the marble flooring a few times. I might have gone a little overboard on that one. It was Lucious Malfoy. I think I enjoyed that one."
"With how he has targeted you and with the filth that he has filled his son with, that would be understandable.. Did you kill any of them?"
"I don't think so. Crippled? Maybe. I was very angry. The voices stopped so I thought about home and vanished here."
"I am very proud of you Harry. I know tonight and the past couple of days have been chaos manifested, but you have taken this in stride. We will figure out what has happened…" Dumbledore stopped and looked at Harry as the young man's face was starting to be covered in blood. He lifted the boy's head up and noticed that his scar was bleeding.
"I guess I got hit at some point."
"We need to get to St. Mungo's now," said Dumbledore. He took Harry by the arm and with a pop they were gone.
