Chapter 4: Unleashed Chaos

The man in the room wasn't Menma Uzumaki anymore. A dark aura surrounded his body while he looked through his mask getting used to where he was now. He noticed the black and orange jumpsuit and immediately he discarded those old clothes to put on the garments that distinguished him as the legendary Masked Man of his world.

"I thought about giving you an Akatsuki cloak. But I remembered our last experience with them in your world and I figured you would hate the red clouds" Tobi said, looking at Menma, who turned around and replied coldly.

"I just hope for a chance to get my hands on those mercenaries and crush them like insects. Are they a pest here as they are in mine?"

"Fortunately, no. They didn't have here that greed for money or glory. The only downside is that most of them are already dead, courtesy of Konoha".

"It seems like a shame for you. Even from another world, I will still hate them. The only thing that I regret is that I wasn't the one who sent them to the next life. Konaha must pay for their interference with my Red Moon plan, but I still don't feel comfortable with my powers yet."

"Perhaps the guilt that existed in your conscience is still limiting your own potential. Although I know the best way to help you practice. In the vicinity of Konoha, there are several special ANBU hunters. They are chasing a powerful ally who, like you, has a desire to destroy the village. I have a feeling that you will make a team…strangely familiar. Just don't be surprised when you see him, remember that our worlds are different"

Menma didn't need to hear much more and he headed towards his destination like a black lightning bolt to practice with this world's ninjas. Tobi stayed in the cave and said out loud:

"Make sure he doesn't attract too much attention, And Zetsu, take HIM to see Menma in action. I want him to witness his abilities. We'll need both of them to sink Konoha in despair."

"I will" Zetsu's voice could be heard from the shadows as he disappeared towards where a certain young man with black hair was.

It was a quiet morning in the Hokage tower. The newly recovered Hokage was in her office reviewing the latest reports she had received from a secret mission. Three days ago, Sasuke and Taka were spotted in in the Land of Fire. Wanting to prevent Naruto from embarking on one of his traditional suicide missions to bring Sasuke back, Tsunade sent him in a mission far away from Konoha. Once they left, she sent ANBU squads to nearby villages to locate Sasuke and capture him. They had to judge Sasuke for his recent crimes against all the shinobi nations.

According to the latest report, Sasuke had been spotted a few kilometers west of Konoha. If they were lucky, they might be able to catch him before the Raikage's men did. But there was the key word: luck. The Hokage would soon realize that she didn't have any of it when she heard hurried footsteps in the hallway.

"Lady Tsunade! Lady Tsunade!" a woman in the hallway, undoubtedly Shizune, was shouting.

"What happened, Shizune?"

"Ten minutes ago, the ANBU teams that were sent to intercept Sasuke Uchiha were defeated by a single ninja."

"What?! How is it possible for one person to defeat nearly ten of the best ninjas in the village?" said the Hokage, striking her desk with one blow, surprisingly not breaking it with the brute force.

"The report says that Team A was near Sasuke's position when they were attacked by a black-haired ninja with a long coat and a mask. He performed a technique that summoned multiple beasts. They were outnumbered and seriously injured. Team B sent the alert, but they seemed to be in serious trouble. They are urgently requesting reinforcements."

"It can't be a coincidence. Shizune, gather the members of Shikamaru, Kiba, and Neji's teams, and tell them it's a rank S mission. We can't let Sasuke have a new ally, and they are the most prepared and only available reinforcements."

As soon as Tsunade finished, Shizune went to find the remaining members of the Konoha 11, while the Hokage sat down worried in her chair.

It was too early for a bottle of sake, but the existence of ninja who could defeat ANBU like flies was enough reason for that drink.

To the west, Menma was defeating the last standing ANBU. His masked beasts did most of the work for him, but when a kunai or jutsu approached him, the Masked Man repelled it with a wave of air before attacking fiercely to the one who dare to challenge.

"At least, you have more stamina than the other ninjas I've seen in my life" the Masked Man said as he struck the ninja and letting the masked dragon and tiger to finish off.

The ANBU tried to retrieve their wounded comrades, but the snake and maiden-like beasts under Menma's control did not allow it. They knew that the surprise attack had weakened them, but the strength and chakra of this masked man was immense. Since Pain invasion, nothing had compared to this.

"What do you think, Sasuke? He seems promising." Hiding in the trees, Sasuke and Zetsu talked about the beatdown they were watching. Zetsu had no problem locating Uchiha, though convincing him was another story. Even that they were away from the battlefield, they could still feel the strength of the masked man from a distance.

"He's just another Akatsuki's show-off; he could have defeated them a long time ago. However, there's something strange about him," said Sasuke, activating his Sharingan after he noticed Menma using the taijutsu of a certain jinchūriki he knew. "It's looks familiar."

"I think you'll be surprised when you meet him," said Zetsu, with a certain laughter in his words.

In the other dimension, the Hokage's office was in a similar state than its counterpart. A very weak Hokage with a head full of worries had Sakura, the hero's daughter, in her office injured and with a broken spirit.

An hour ago, a ninja squad found the pink-haired girl injured with some serious bruises in the training fields. They tried to convince her to go to the hospital, but she insisted on talking to Lady Tsunade about Menma and a strange attack. After dodging a few doctors who tried to help her upon seeing the hero's daughter in her way to the Hokage Tower, the pink-haired girl arrived at Tsunade's office.

The Hokage, along with Shizune and her black pig pet, received Sakura. Although Shizune began to criticize the kunoichi's irresponsibility with her health and the audacity of entering without warning. Ignoring her, Sakura hastily informed Lady Tsunade that a new member of Akatsuki had entered the village to attack her and Menma. When he defeated them, he kidnapped Menma and disappeared before her eyes.

Tsunade didn't fully buy that story; if it were someone else, she wouldn't believe it at all. However, the most recent events, especially those associated with the Red Moon scroll and Menma's disappearance, made her partially believe the pink-haired girl. Tsunade asked her why they kidnapped Menma. Sakura stopped abruptly, so much that Shizune and Tsunade looked at her strangely. The pink-haired girl knew that no one, except her best friend's family, knew about Menma's dark secret and his relationship with the villain known as the Masked Man. She didn't want to imagine the consequences if that information was revealed and it reached the ears of the villagers.

"Come on, Sakura, tell us what happened! We don't have all day. Are you going to help Menma or are you lying to hide that he has run away again?" said an annoyed Shizune, holding onto Tonton.

"Leave her alone if you don't want me to shut you up myself, damn cow, dattebane" the daughter of the Yondaime turned to see Kushina entering and threatening Shizune, followed by Minato.

If there was one thing that didn't change no matter which world it is, that should be that no one in their right mind should make Kushina Uzumaki angry, and Shizune knew it perfectly well. Immediately, she shut up, limiting herself to look how the newcomers and seeing how they acted.

The redhead leaned in to face Sakura and she looked carefully how she was. She noticed the scrapes and bruises on her arms, legs, and side; as well as her red eyes from crying. She knew something was wrong and had an idea of what happened to the Fourth Hokage's daughter. She put her hands on Sakura's to try to calm her down since, if Kushina cared for someone as a daughter, it was undoubtedly Sakura Haruno.

"Excuse our intrusion, Lady Hokage. We heard a rumor in the streets that our son was kidnapped. Is it true?" Minato said with his traditional courtesy, though with some fear that Menma was in danger again.

"I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not sure about it. Sakura claims it; however, her story has some inconsistencies. Could you repeat to them what you told us now?" asked the Hokage using a soft tone.

"Take your time, Sakura-chan, and tell us calmly," Kushina said, putting her hand on the pink-haired girl's shoulder and putting a smile on her face knowing that Sakura needed support at that moment.

"Okay," she responded, taking a deep breath. "Menma and I were talking in the training field. Then that guy with an Akatsuki cloak appeared. He wanted to use him as a weapon to fulfill an ambition he had. It was very strange to fight him. Our blows went through him like he was a ghost, but when he attacked, he hit us with great force. When Menma used the Rasengan, another guy using the same cloak appeared from the ground and caught him using some kind of roots. The masked man approached and put him to sleep with a genjutsu. I tried to do something, but..." Sakura clenched her fists, remembering the moment when she was useless for her best friend, although the presence of Kushina and Minato brought her back to reality.

"They simply vanished. All three of them in a matter of a few seconds" Sakura finished.

"See? It doesn't make sense. Two guys with Akatsuki cloaks attacking Konoha. Even that group of mercenaries has a code they respect: Don't attack anyone inside their villages and don't go for someone who isn't a rogue ninja" replied Shizune, who stopped talking when she sensed the redhead's murderous gaze.

"Sakura, do you remember what he said or how they disappeared?"

"He wanted to use the power that Menma had inside him. Moreover, the strangest thing was that we looked identical to two people he knew, although we weren't exactly like them."

When they heard the last sentence, something clicked for the married couple. Kushina and Minato knew that this was related to the night when the village was destroyed, and that young man identical to their son went to rescue Menma. They didn't know how Menma became the Masked Man or what happened in that battlefield, but hearing Sakura's story, they figured out that maybe there wasn't just a single traveler in that place.

"Sakura, you know that I fully trust in you. But do you think it's possible? Two identical people, although different, as if they came from..."

"Parallel dimensions. Different worlds. It's an almost improbable theory, but given the circumstances, it seems possible. The one who managed to kidnap Menma could be the one behind all of this."

"Minato! Don't you think something so crazy is possible, right? Even if it was real, how can you prove us that other world exists and Menma is there? What technique could achieve something so amazing?" responded Shizune surprised by Minato.

"Sharingan," Minato replied. "A fully evolved Sharingan is capable of opening fissures in space-time."

"Are you saying the Uchiha are going to betray Konoha?" said the Hokage, who resisted her wounds when she stood up.

"No. The Uchiha wouldn't do it or, at least, not the ones we know. I mentioned the Sharingan because of a technique I saw. I need you to call Kakashi immediately. He is the key to helping us."

"But you haven't told me how to ensure that parallel world is real," Minato and Kushina remained silent, looking for a way to explain it until Sakura stood up, looking at Shizune and the Hokage.

"I know it's real because... I was there."

Kiba, Neji, Hinata, Shikamaru, and rest of Naruto's friends ran at full speed towards where the injured ANBU were.

"It's about time those Akatsuki cowards came out of hiding, don't you think, Akamaru?" said Kiba, responding with a bark from his faithful canine companion.

"It's not time to underestimate them, Kiba," Shikamaru criticized. "We don't know what this person is capable of, but if he managed to defeat 10 special ANBU hunters on his own, he's not just any type of opponent."

"Shikamaru is right," Neji added. "Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, and Kakashi faced many difficulties to defeat the other members of Akatsuki. Let's not forget how one of them caused that destruction in our village, all by himself."

No one said anything for a few minutes until Hinata spoke up:

"We can't let Naruto fight on his own. We must contribute, don't you think?"

"That's right, Hinata," Kiba said, raising his thumb in approval, and the others agreed as well.

"You're right, Lady Hinata. Prepare to fight. This mission is primarily a rescue. Rock Lee, you're the fastest, get the injured ANBU away from the battlefield while Kiba, Akamaru, Hinata, and Ino help you. The rest of us will try to buy you some time and, if possible, annihilate the new Akatsuki."

Hope everyone is doing fine. The first battle of the fanfic will start next chapter, so I hope you are excited about it.
