The cool crisp morning air hit my face as I stopped stretching and began jogging around the park. The park was located about half a mile away from the Dursley home, not that the Dursleys have ever been to a park or even knew what a park was used for.

It was 5:30 in the morning so it was still a bit dark and not many people were in the park, only a handful of elderly and two girls about my age who regularly came here to train for either cheerleading or maybe gymnastics, I didn't know.

After warming up, I started my daily workout which mostly consisted of exercises Oliver used to make us do for quidditch training. I was doing a set of crunches when the two girls finished their training and passed by me, one of the girls said something to the other girl, who smiled at me, checked me out up and down, and gave me a wink before they went away giggling.

I immediately looked away in embarrassment and didn't look up until the giggling had completely gone away. I took a breath of relief when I realized that they had gone out of the park and went back to my crunches.

I was used to dealing with the stares of people around me since I turned 11 and entered the wizarding world but those stares were mostly directed at my scar in curiosity or at my eyes with recognization or pity. But I didn't how to deal with girls suddenly checking out my body, that had never happened before at Hogwarts.

A month ago those girls wouldn't have given me another look and would have passed me by without even acknowledging me with my oversized clothes but this summer that suddenly changed.

It was flattering in a way, but mostly terrifying because I didn't know how I was supposed to respond to that. And Sirius was not helpful at all, whenever I said something about it, all he would do is give me THE TALK and tell me to ask the girl out. As if it was that easy for me, considering I had almost never talked to a beautiful girl at length, well except for Hermione but she didn't like me like that and had never checked out my body as those girls did.

I completed the rest of my training in silence with complete concentration, I was mostly doing agility and core strength workout. Sirius had shown me some of the exercises that were used by Aurors to improve their dodging and I had incorporated them into my exercise routine.

About an hour later, I did some cooldown stretches and started walking home. I was almost halfway toward privet drive when I looked across the street and saw a grocery store. I stood there for a while hesitating before I took a deep breath and went into the store. After about 15 minutes of browsing, I came out of the store while carrying a couple of protein bars.

Sirius had given me the homework of spending a fixed amount of money every week. I almost never had money to spend before I was 11 and the Dursleys would rather dance naked in the streets before they take me into a store to buy me stuff so I've almost never bought stuff for myself. So it was weird for me to suddenly get pocket money and be told to go buy stuff.

The neighbors passing didn't glare at me anymore, some of them even greeted me good morning. I walked the rest of the way while eating the protein bar and musing about the month that had passed.

It all started a month ago when out of nowhere a beautiful white bird delivered a box and a mirror into my room. I would have thought that the things were cursed if not for Sirius's Letter attached to it. Ever since that day my life had completely turned around. I finally got to experience what having a proper guardian and having someone look out for you felt like. It had been the absolute best summer of my whole life.

I opened the front door slowly and tiptoed inside after closing the door behind me. The Dursleys have given me a wide birth ever since Sirius had a talk with them. I didn't know what Sirius had said to them because Sirius had asked me to leave the room after putting the mirror in front of them when I came back into Sirius had that intense look in his eyes and all the Dursleys were sitting on their chairs pale with fear.

I was almost at the stairs when I heard someone moving inside the kitchen. Aunt Petunia must have woken up early to prepare breakfast. I quickly went inside my room and took his towel and brush before quickly leaving toward the bathroom, he wanted to finish his morning routine before Dudley woke up and posters him again.

About two days after I got the mirror and box, Sirius started giving me a glass filled with green liquid, along with dinner every night. At first, he said it was a protein shake, but as the days passed, my body started sprouting up and I actually grew biceps. I always had abs because of quidditch practice but it was the first time I had muscles that could be visible through clothes. By the end of two weeks, I almost had the physique of Captain America from Dudley's comics.

I finally cornered Sirius and asked him about the green juice and he finally told me that it was a nutrition potion that he was taking to recover from Azkaban and that he had made two batches. He had suspected that I had been starved in my childhood but didn't want to ask awkward questions and find out later that he was just thin not malnourished.

Anyway seeing the changes that had happened to me the previous month, Dudley had started begging me to give him some of the magic potions so that he could have a body like mine. He started to suck up to me by giving me chocolates, his comics, and video games. I didn't how to deal with this sudden change so I just accepted his things and said that I look for a magic potion to give slim him down.

I had just reentered my room and was drying my hair with a towel when the small mirror on my desk started shining blue and ringing, I put the towel down and sat on my desk before taking the mirror into my hands.

"Accept," I said and the blank mirror turned into Sirius's face.

"Hey, pup. Are you back from your yoga with the hot chicks," Sirius teased with a smirk.

"I don't do yoga with them," I said trying to keep my face from getting red, "I've never even talked to them,"

"Oh... So you do want to talk to them," Sirius asked while dancing his eyebrows up and down.

"ugh... Anyway, what's for breakfast," I asked changing the subject.

"What's for breakfast, Remus?" he shouted while turning around and looking toward the kitchen. Sirius was sitting at the dining table and was holding the mirror in his hands.

"Fried eggs and bacon," Professor Lupin shot back outside of view. About two weeks into the summer Sirius had sent a letter to his friend and called him over to live with him and since then the taste of breakfast had improved tremendously because food made by magic was quite bland in taste.

"Well, you heard him," Sirius said while looking back into the mirror, "Oh before I forget, have you had weird dreams since the last one,"

"No, ever since last week, I've been mostly having dreamless sleep," I replied back gratefully. I had told Sirius about my having dreams of Voldemorts and the very next day he started teaching me a very advanced art called Occlumency. Every night before going to sleep Sirius would call me on my mirror and we would both sit in meditation and try to clear our minds, the first step of the art.

It had really helped that I was not practicing it alone, otherwise, I would have fallen asleep midway through. I don't know if he was just trying to keep me company or as he said that he was just trying to get his occlumency back on track, but I was really grateful for the full night's sleep.

"Alright, breakfast is ready," Remus arrived while levitating a couple of plates with his wand, "Oh, Good Morning Harry," he said when he noticed me in the mirror.

"Good Morning, Professor Lupin,"

"I've told you before Harry," he said with a kind smile, "I am not your Professor any longer, you can call me Remus,"

"Or Moony," Sirius quipped while taking a couple of plates and placing them inside a box.

"Yes, Remus," I said a bit uncomfortably, after all only last term he was my DADA professor. I placed the mirror against the wall while saying enlarge and the runes on it lit up and it became the size of a TV. I brought the vanishing box out from under the desk and placed it on the table. I opened the box and took out the plates, that Sirius had just placed inside the box on his side, before arranging them on the desk.

"Alright let's eat," Sirius cheerfully shouted putting a big piece of bacon in his mouth. Remus and I simultaneously rolled our eyes and started having breakfast. We talked about some casual stuff while eating, it was mostly me listening to them tell stories about my Mom and Dad.

"Hey Sirius," I asked after a while, "Dudley had been pestering me about the "protein shake" that you gave me,"

"The only drink I'll give that pig is a glass full of poison," Sirius said with a dark smile.

"Sirius!" Remus admonished Sirius with a light slap on the back of his head.

"Alright, geez," Sirius said while rubbing his head, "If not poison, then how about some laxatives, I am sure Kreacher's got some of those lying around,"

"Ignore him, Harry," Remus said, "The only reason you've grown so fast was that your magic was suppressing your body's natural development because of insufficient nutrients, so the potion only gave you the body that you were supposed to have after doing three years of training for quidditch. I mean look at Sirius, he only got back the body he had before Azkaban not a model like such as yours because unlike you I don't think he did much running back then,"

"Hey, I resent that," Sirius said pointing a finger at him, "You don't know how hard it was to run after all those chicks,"

"Or run away from them," Remus retorted, "After you broke their hearts,"

Remus and I laughed loudly at the speechless Sirius. The rest of the breakfast passed away like that before I put the empty plates back inside the vanishing box.

After Remus took those plates and went away toward the kitchen, Sirius suddenly turned toward him.

"Anyway, have you completed your potion assignment yet," Sirius asked him while folding his hands, trying to look serious.

"No, but I'll complete it later,"

"Tut...Tut... tut..." Sirius said while shaking his head, "You've been postponing that for a while now. Look, you have already completed all the rest of your assignments, if you do this then you're free for the rest of your holidays,"

"But it's so boring," I said with a groan while sliding down into my chair, "and it's not like snape will ever give anything more than a Poor,"

"You're not doing this for that Snivellus," Sirius said with disgust, "you're doing this for yourself, potions are a very important part of a wizard's life,"

Sirius looked at me for a while in consideration before he said, "Tell you what, if you don't complete your potion assignment by tomorrow then no treacle tart for a week,"

"What! NO! That's not fair," I said, sitting up in my chair. Sirius and Remus have completely spoiled me by always making dishes I liked, Now I don't think I could even survive a week without my favorite dessert.

"Well, life's not fair, pup," Sirius said while rolling his eyes, "Come on get on with it. Maybe I could even help you out a bit,"

"You always say that, but the only thing you do is tell me which book to read," I said while opening my potion assignment extremely reluctantly.

"Well, you know what your mother used to say to me whenever I asked for her help in our final year," Sirius said reminiscing and capturing my attention instantly, "If your brain doesn't burn, then how will you learn,"

I looked down for a while to try and hide the sudden tears in my eyes, there were so few things I knew about my mother that every single one of them made me feel as if my heart was going to burst with emotions.

"Thank you, Sirius," I said quietly before taking a deep breath and looking up.

"Anytime kid,"

I nodded my head and opened my poison assignment with a newfound resolve. For the next hour, I worked on my potion assignment with maximum concentration outside of some breaks and occasionally asked for some help from Sirius.

"Hey Sirius," I asked about an hour later, in a somewhat embarrassed tone "Can you tell me what electives my mom used to take,"

"Of course, let me think," Sirius said with a pondering face, "She took Care of magical creatures with us but I don't think that she took Divination and— Oh I remember now she took Ancient Runes with Remus,"

"Oh," I was silent for a while before I asked Sirius in a timid voice, "Do you think Mcgonogall will let me take Ancient Runes instead of Divination?"

"I am not sure they let you change your electives midway easily," Sirius said while tilting his head, "But why do you want to do that,"

"You know how I am on my quidditch team," I asked and Sirius nodded, "Well I have that in common with my dad. So I thought that if I took Ancient Runes I would have something to relate to her—Well, other than my eyes," I ended with a small smile.

"Harry you have a lot more similarities with lily than just your eyes," Sirius said sympathetically, "But if you really want to change your subject then I am sure that I can send a letter to Dumbledore,"

"Thank you, Sirius,"

"Don't thank me, it's my job," Sirius said with a small smile, "And you know if you really want to increase your chances then should probably study and prepare for a test on the stuff they taught in Ancient Runes last year,"

"Oh I can take Hermione's notes," I said while remembering Hermione pestering him and Ron to take Ancient Runes instead Divination last year, "But can you tutor me,"

"I didn't take Ancient Runes during my time at Hogwarts," Sirius said while shaking his head, "but I am sure Remus will be more than happy to teach you all you need to know,"

"Where is he, by the way," I asked as I had not seen Remus around after breakfast.

"Oh didn't I tell you," Sirius with a bit of excitement, "You know the shop where I got the vanishing box,"

"Yes,"

"Well, Remus got a job there. I went there some days ago along with Remus to get some stuff done and the guy was seriously impressed with Remus's knowledge and skills in Runes and offered him a job on the spot,"

"Oh that's great news," I said happily, having known how hard it was for a werewolf to get a job, which made him ask, "Um... Does he know about, you know Remus's monthly problem,"

"That's the best part," Sirius said high-spiritedly, "Remus told him about his hairy little problem and he was completely cool with it. Just asked Remus to make up on weekends for the missed days,"

"He must be really talented at runes," I asked.

"Oh he was in the top 3 of the class in almost every subject except for potion," Sirius said airily, "And you should get back to your assignment if you want to have time left for your Ancient Runes lessons,"

"Yes," I nodded with a sheepish expression, having forgotten about my essay. I went back to my essay with renewed enthusiasm, wanting to complete it quickly.

A few hours later just when I was just on the precipe of completing my potion essay, Hedwig suddenly started hooting excitedly and ruffling her feathers in delight while looking out of the window. I turned around and went toward the window: for a while the only thing I could see was a clear blue sky, but a few moments later I saw a vague silhouette coming toward my room at a terrifying speed.

I immediately backed away, expecting it to hit the window but just before it reached my room it slowed down impossibly quickly. It swooped inside the window gracefully and landed on his bed. The entire time from going at jet speed to almost zero to landing on my bed, the creature made nary a sound nor did it ruffle a single sheet of paper on my desk. It was absolutely magical.

"Hey Sirius," I said and when I got no response, I looked toward the mirror and found him sleeping with a bit of drool on his face, "SIRIUS!"

"Ye... yes, I am up, I am up," Sirius said half asleep while looking around, "What happened harry,"

"Why is your bird here," I said while moving away and showing him his familiar, "did you send me something,"

"Hey swift, you're already there," Sirius said while waving his hand toward his pet with a smile and Swift chirped back, "Have you gotten faster again, you were supposed to arrive in the evening,"

"It's gotten bigger as well," I said while moving toward swift. I had met swift a couple of times before, like when he bought me stuff from Sirius like the vanishing box or the mirror, And every time I saw him he seemed to grow bigger. The first time I had seen him, he was about half the size of Hedwig but now he was just a couple of cm shorter than her, "So what did you send me Sirius,"

"It's your birthday tomorrow, so obviously it's a present for your cousin," Sirius said while rolling his eyes.

"Very funny, HA... HA... HA," I said before taking the present in my hands, it felt like a small cardboard box.

"NO! Don't open it now," Sirius said urgently when he saw that Harry was about to open the box, "Open it at midnight when your birthday actually starts,"

"Oh, Ok," I said before placing the box on the desk and suddenly looking back at the sound of Hedwig, "Hey Sirius why is your bird circling Hedwig,"

Swift had started to circle around Hedwig very slowly while Hedwig just looked back at him with her piercing eyes. She suddenly struck toward him like a flying snake but swift was way quicker and flew away from his spot in a heartbeat. They danced with each other like that for a while mostly with Hedwig trying to catch Swift, before Swift suddenly took off out the window and Hedwig followed him immediately.

"Hey Sirius, I am not going to have to take care of baby Hedwig's. Am I," I said to the equally stunned Sirius after watching that dance.

"No, Of course not!" Sirius said, "They are different species they can't mate together... Probably,"

"PROBABLY!" I almost shouted.

"Hey don't worry, I am sure that whatever happens it will be fully consensual," Sirius said while shrugging.

"I don't want her to give any kind of consent," I said in high pitched voice.

"Hey, I don't know what you're going after me for," Sirius said defensively, "If anything, it's Hedwig who's the cougar and taking advantage of my much younger Swift,"

They argued about who's familiar was better looking and whose pet was seducing whom until Remus came home and broke up their argument.

They had lunch and Sirius asked Remus if he could teach Harry Ancient Runes. Remus immediately agreed and promised to tutor Harry for an hour each night until he has to go back to Hogwarts.

I broke the mirror connection after a while with Sirius reminding me to be ready for the occlumency exercise at the usual time.

I lazed around on the bed for a while reading some of the comics Dudley had bribed me with. It was a superhero comic about a man who got the power of a spider. It was really funny and interesting, I didn't realize when the time passed away and when I fell asleep.

When I woke up, the sun was already setting outside the window and Hedwig had already returned to her cage.

I put some water inside her cage and pestered her for a while about where she went with Swift and what she did with him, but she just turned her head away from me. The only thing to show for my persistent questioning was a couple of bite marks on my hands.

A few minutes later while I was ruffling inside his trunk for a couple of things, the mirror suddenly started ringing.

"Accept," I shouted while still looking inside the trunk.

"Hey, pup, Dinner's ready—" Sirius stopped abruptly when he saw what I was doing, "What are you searching for buddy,"

"Oh just my pajamas, I can't seem to find them," I looked around for a few more moments before I gave up on it as a bad job, "I think I forgot them at Hogwarts,"

"Harry, did you not buy yourself new clothes, as I told you to last week,"

"I will buy them, it's just that I couldn't find the time," I said, and before Sirius could pressure me about it, asked, "So what's for dinner,"

Sirius looked at me for a few moments, but he still let me change the subject. It's not that I didn't want to buy new clothes, I did but it's just that I've never been to a clothes shop before so it was a little mortifying for me to go alone and buy some clothes for myself.

The dinner was mostly meat and fried vegetables, along with a creamy soup and some salads. I ate it with absolute relish, the stuff that Remus made was almost as good as the stuff made by elves at Hogwarts, the only time I had eaten better was at the Weasley house, Mrs. Weasley was one of the best cooks I had ever met.

They talked for a while about some random stuff, with Remus telling harry about all the times Sirius had to run from a crying girl's curses. He was laughing so much by the end of it that he was almost falling from his chair.

It was almost 10 o'clock by the time Remus left the dining room to give both of them some privacy to practice their occlumency.

They couldn't actually do much since they were just beginners yet. So the most they did was take turns watching the other while they tried to clear their mind. Sometimes one of them will fall asleep and the other one will have to wake him up.

When it was about to strike 11 Remus came back down and started baking a birthday cake. I had told them that it wasn't necessary for them to do this much for me but they didn't take no for an answer and just went on with it.

Just before the clock struck midnight, Remus sent the cake through the vanishing box along with a lighter for the candles. The mirror was placed against the wall on his bed and I was sitting cross-legged with the cake on the bed before me. I lit the candles one by one with a small grin on my face excited for my first birthday party. I was just about to blow up the candles when Sirius suddenly stopped me.

"Wait a minute, harry," Sirius said while looking at his watch before he suddenly looked up with a mischievous smile, "Why don't you open my present first,"

I was a bit startled by the weird request but stood up anyway. I went toward my desk and after getting Sirius's gift sat back on the bed.

"I am opening it," I said and they both looked at me in anticipation. I opened the box warily, a bit scared now, expecting some kind of prank inside.

The second I opened the wrapper, the box flew open by itself, and two mirrors the same as the one on my bed suddenly floated into the air with Ron and Hermione's faces on them.

"Happy Birthday to you," All of them started to sing simultaneously, "Happy Birthday Dear Harry..."

I just looked at the mirrors with my mouth wide open in astonishment, tears started to fall from my eyes and my lip quivered without my consent. I suddenly stood up and turned around, and rubbed my eyes while trying to stop my body from sobbing uncontrollably. Having all the people I loved in the world show up for my birthday was too much for me.

It took a few moments and a couple of breaths before I was in control of my body, they were still singing the birthday song behind me, Sirius suddenly shouted, "Come on harry blow out the candles,"

"Yeah," I croaked while turning around and sitting back on the bed. I blew out the candles with a wide grin and they suddenly started clapping.

"I think the mirror is a bit crooked, harry," Hermione's sweet voice drifted over, "I can't look at your face,"

"Yeah mate, the only thing I can see is the absolutely delicious cake and your legs," Ron said and I could almost imagine his face salivating at the cake.

"Harry, you just need to push them a bit in the right direction and the charm will keep them stable in the air," Remus said.

I nodded and pushed both the mirrors to their upper side. Immediately both of my best friends eyes looked at me and their eyes widened comically.

"Merlin's Beard!" "Oh My!" they both exclaimed simultaneously.

"Did you eat a hippogriff over the summer, Mate," Ron said while looking at his biceps in admiration, "you look like some of those quidditch stars on ginny's magazine, and did you grow taller too,"

"Yes, Harry did you take steroids, you look so...so..." Hermione said while checking him out from head to toe before she suddenly turned red.

"Are you actually blushing Hermione," Ron said while looking toward Hermione and laughing out loudly, "Oh this precious... And...And if Hermione is like that, then wait till Ginny sees you, harry. Oh, I can already imagine her reaction, HAHAHA..."

"Shut Up Ron and don't talk about ginny like that," Hermione berated while controlling her blush before turning toward him, "But seriously Harry, you should not come before Ginny for a while or she might actually faint,"

I turned progressively redder and redder as the conversation continued, I could actually almost feel like steam was coming from my face.

"Hey! Hey! Enough about him, what about me," Sirius said while running a hand through his hair, "Alright he might be a little handsome, but come on compared to my roguish looks he looks like a washed-out model,"

I was so thankful to Sirius at the moment that I could kiss him for his rescue, I took a sigh of relief when both of them turned to Sirius and started talking to him and Remus.

"Hey, harry come on open up the presents," Ron said after a while.

"Oh I've them right here," Sirius said while putting a couple of gift-wrapped presents inside the box, "I had them send their gifts to me to keep it a surprise,"

I opened the box and took out the four presents that were placed inside. The first gift was shaped like a book, I opened it and what fell out was indeed a notebook.

"That's from me," Hermione said somewhat embarrassed, "It's the notebook on which I drew some runes so it will be never-ending,"

"Thanks, Hermione, this is great and very useful," I said to her with a grateful smile.

The next gift I opened was a small box from which a watch fell out. It was a normal watch with a dial on the side with 1,2, and 3 written but its square face was empty.

"That's the one made by me," Remus said, "You can insert all the three mirrors you have inside them so that you can always keep in contact with us over the summer,"

"That's great. Thank you very much, Remus,"

"Oh that's mine," Sirius said with a mischievous smile when saw me picking up a red packet.

It was also in the shape of a book which was weird since I didn't take Sirius to be the kind of guy who gave books as gifts. When I opened a thin book with the title "Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches". I groaned and turned the book around to show the book to the rest of the gang.

"Are you Serious," Hermione hissed to Sirius.

"I am always Sirius," Sirius said and started laughing loudly at his own joke.

"Hey, mate can I borrow it after you are done with it," Ron asked with anticipation.

"Oh come on," Hermione rolled her eyes before looking toward me, "I am going to go now harry before Sirius starts giving you any Dating advice, But Happy Birthday again,"

Hermione said and cut off her mirror connection.

"Look Sirius, you've upset her," I said to Sirius who didn't look apologetic at all.

"Well, I've given you the opportunity here buddy," Sirius said with a smirk, "you get to mollify her now that she's upset, Harry,"

Before I could answer him Mr's Weasely's voice came out of Ron's side, "Ronald why are your lights still on,"

"Oh hey I've gotta go, but keep that book safe harry, I mean it," Ron said before closing the mirror connection.

After a few minutes, I said good night to Sirius and Remus and closed the mirror connection. While I was sleeping for the night, I couldn't keep the grin off my face, 'This was the best birthday ever,'
