Hello all,

Hope everyone has been doing alright, my apologies for the slow updates and this chapters small size, but lately it's been harder and harder to write due to work and also I've been going to Therapy after witnessing an aftermath of a suicide in May.

I have one more chapter after this for Magic Swords, then I'm finishing my other chapters for Monster Hunting Hero and Green Gaul, before working on Bearer of the Light.

Bearer is taking a back seat until after these three chapters as I've been really stuck going forward as I would like to have that story end at Kamino... which is going to be hard given where we are in the story. I'm working out the details and hopefully everyone will enjoy what's to come.

Once again, thank you all for your continued support and hope you enjoy the upcoming chapters.

Review time:

Saramus92: Hope you enjoy this chapter. :)

ErasedDeity: Honestly, I'm shocked there wasn't more. But yea, hope you keep enjoying this story.

Typomanical: Glad you been enjoying this story and hope you enjoy this small chapter, as for the rules of the sword... Here's a small taste:

So, timeline-wise, this takes place YEARS after the original 80's run + Revelations, because sadly, as much as I hate to say it... It is considered canon... which... oof that first season.

Anyway, so Prince Adam and Teela (now the Sorceress) have a son named "He-Ro". And after the events that happened after that, where anyone can simply lift the sword and shout out the Maguffin words gets the power, Evil or Good. So, the Sorceress of that time (after Teela) decided to put a few, shall we say, "defense" mechanisms into place, using the magic and power of Greyskull.

Honestly, it's similar rules to Mjolnir from the Marvel comics. Only those with a heroic heart can lift the sword (hence why Mamadoriya was able to lift it slightly, but Mina and Izuku who have heroic qualities can lift the sword with ease, hell 17/20 of the students in 1-A could do so as well); if they can read the runes on the blade and say the magic swords "By the power of Greyskull", boom, they get the power.

However, there can only be one person in a generation that can get the power using the words and not be holding the sword; they are considered the "spark" (and if you re-read chapter 2... didn't Izuku get a little shock before picking up the sword? ;) ) Everyone else needs the sword. The person who is the spark can share the power while they transform.

ProjectIceman: This is Mina we are talking about after all ;)

Captain Titus Invictus: Oh.. I cannot wait to get to the USJ... :)

Chapter 4

Starting Lines

To say that Toshnori Yagi was a little nervous about teaching his very first class would be an understatement, nor something he would admit to.

Despite the various tips and reassurances made to him by his new coworkers, the number one hero had never taught anything like this before. Sure, he often did public PSAs that promoted the young people of his homeland to go to school and about the basics of quirk laws that those of that age group could quickly grasp, but those often had scripts ready for him to read and people to direct him in putting on a good show.

But now? He was on his own and going to have to deal with teenagers on the brink of adulthood, just starting their perilous journey into heroics, where every day would not always be a good day.

'...No, I don't think you can become a hero without a quirk….'

The large hero sighed heavily as the memory of that fateful day crawled it's way back to the front of his mind, possibly due to finally meeting up with Midoriya once more. Toshi had hoped that a talk later on would be able to further improve the relationship between himself and the young man. The number one hero felt like he owed so much to the future hero, who was already on a good path ahead of him with his cleaning up of the beach.

He had seen Midoriya working hard to clean the former dumping ground, having come across the scene when the pro hero was searching for the young man. Watching from afar as Midorioya clearly had a goal within his mind, Toshinori was curious to see what the boy could accomplish on his own and noted how his body began to fill out from all the work he had been doing over the months. Some days, Toshi would arrive to check on his progress, seeing the large mounds of scrap metal and debris being placed into piles near the parking lot, awaiting to be hopefully picked up by the city. It was odd that the number one hero never saw a truck come to pick up the junk, but clearly, the pieces were being taken somewhere as the piles grew smaller and smaller by the day.

From his observations over the months, regardless of the fact that the young man was cleaning the entire beach, Toshinori could see a path being made towards one of the more giant piles, where a particular item was awaiting the young man, almost like a prize.

While it was odd to see the boy work that hard towards what seemed to be just an oddly designed sword stuck in the middle of a heap of junk, Toshinori wouldn't argue with the results, given what he had witnessed during the entrance exam.

A dark thought slowly crept into his mind, wondering what would happen if someone with a nefarious goal tried to use the sword, similar to what Midoriya did. A shiver ran down the number one's spine of what would happen if he had used the sword.

No. No, there was nothing to fear anymore from that man; he was dead. His head was crushed between the fingers of the number one hero.

Toshinori took a deep breath once again as the dark thoughts left his mind, thanks to his students' excited chattering echoing off the hallway's walls to the sizeable faux cityscape. The pro hero smiled proudly as he looked upon the next generation of heroes walking towards him, excited to learn their first lesson in what would be one of many toward their goals.

Yes, All Might had a good feeling about today.

"I'm sorry I'm late!" Izuku called out, panting slightly as he practically ran from the changing rooms towards the large group of students. His somewhat baggy green costume hid much of his physique, and with his bright red sneakers that seemed slightly out of place for the obvious aesthetic choices the outfit was giving off, even more so was the dull brown strap holding the scabbard of his sword close to his back. The loosely hung face mask around his neck bopped as he slowed himself down once he reached his classmates, who were all taking in his appearance.

"Midoriya!" Iida's voice from under his metal helmet rang out and caught Izuku's attention, "While you did arrive later to the change room, it is still not proper for a hero student of UA to be late for the first hero class!" Iida's arm was chopping back and forth, ironically like a broken-down robot on the fritz, with everyone around him sighing at the antics of the speedster.

"S-Sorry about that, Iida… won't happen again." Izuku chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head as a clearing of a throat caught not only his attention but everyone else as well.

All Might was smiling proudly, looking upon his students as he raised a finger, "Now that we are all here, I can proudly say that each of you has taken your first steps to become pro heroes… Looking the part!" He laughed aloud, both hands on his hips once more as he began to explain what the exercise would be.

As the class listened intently, Izuku couldn't help but notice all the different costumes his classmates were now in, a small smile on his lips as these were perfect for putting into his notebooks and giving each entry its own flair. And while Izuku was doing his best not to linger on anyone for more than a few seconds (seriously, what was up with Todoroki's costume?), his emerald eyes soon landed upon the relatively bright and exuberant ensemble of Ashido.

Admittedly, the color scheme and pattern were a little tacky in Izuku's opinion, though the aesthetic seemed to fit with Ashido for whatever reason, with its purple splotches against the teal really seeming to pop. Her boots seemed more basic in their design, but that may have to do with her quirk application? It would make sense, given the tests where he saw her 'skate' along the ground in the fifty-meter dash. The vest she wore had fur lining around the collar, which was odd given how hot that would be in the summer months, but seeing how fluffy it was, maybe it was to match her hair?

The domino mask, while simply white in color, made her eyes pop out, especially with how her golden irises sparkled in the back void of her sclera, which were currently looking at…

Oh no…

Izuku's eyes widened as his cheeks grew a little red from the side-eye being given to him by Mina, a slight little smirk creeping along her lips with a glint in those golden eyes he recognized, one that he already could tell would be nothing but disaster for him later on.

Even if the two had only known each other for a week now, he knew that look, for it was VERY similar to the one shared by his mother when she mentioned bringing out his baby pictures when Ashido was over earlier that week.

"-And that's where this exercise comes in!" All Might said with his usual boisterous voice that thankfully brought both Izuku's and Ashido's attention back to his explanation, "While I originally would have had a two versus two match up, I understand that some of you would have already had a few years of training in martial combat or other similar skills." A few of the students, namely Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Ojiro, and Bakugo, seemed to either flinch or react in a way to the gaze of their teacher, "We shall instead have a rescue race!"

"Rescue race, kero?" Asui held her hand up, tilting her head slightly as All Might nodded his head.

"Indeed, young Asui! One of your classmates will be escorted into this maze of buildings by some of UA's robots, while two others will be brought to opposite sides of the area. Once the buzzer goes off, the race begins. The goal is to reach the 'civilian' within the time limit while avoiding the patrolling robots and the 'villain'." All Might pointed to the screen showing how the exercise was to be done, "When the buzzer goes off again, that will be the end of the exercise, and you will be escorted out."

"Now, I'm not expecting everyone to come to blows with one another or the robot interference, but you have permission to engage one another if it happens. But remember, the goal is to reach the 'victim' first." All Might brought his hands to his hips, smiling proudly at everyone, "While I understand that taking out villains is a main factor in being a pro hero, it's also important to remember we are out there primarily to save lives and ensure civilians are safe!"

A 'tsk' was heard from within a group of the students, which All Might couldn't see who had done such. Choosing to ignore it for now, the sizeable blonde man turned on his heels and began to walk towards the smaller building behind him, "Now, let's all head into the viewing room and get this show on the road! We will have the computer decide the groupings."

As everyone was beginning to follow their instructor, Izuku was suddenly jerked backward by the hood of his costume; a giggle from behind him rang out in his ears as Mina smiled brightly at him when he turned around, "A-Ashido? H-how did you-?"

"Oh, you were so focused on All Might's explanation that I was able to slowly make my way behind ya." Mina smiled brightly at her friend, moving around to walk beside him as the two began to make their way to the building, "And gotta admit, I love your costume, Midori! Mamadoriya went all out on it!"

"Y-yea, she totally- wait! H-How did you know?" Izuku asked, astonished that Mina had already known who had made his costume.

"Oh! She mentioned it to me when you had to excuse yourself when I came over the other night, she didn't tell me what it looked like, but seeing it now, I'm honestly super jealous! You look so good!"

Izuku chuckled weakly, rubbing the back of his head, "Y-yea, she really surprised me with it before classes started; I'm just happy they allowed me to use it. Since, you know, everyone else would have used the support companies provided by UA or if they had contracts already…."

"While that may be the case, it's still sweet that she did that for you, but aren't you worried about it getting damaged?" Mina asked as she walked beside him with a skip to her step, Izuku doing his best to ignore how 'bouncy' his classmate was while she was doing so.

"We both considered that, so while the initial costume may get damaged and have to be replaced at some point, the overall design will remain the same." Izuku smiled gently, looking at his raised hand and clenching it into a fist, "Even if my quirk forces me to change out of it when used, deep down, I know I have her support."

Mina could see the determination in his eyes as he spoke, smiling slightly at the relatively confident look her friend had, and she continued to smile as she cleared her throat to get his attention, "As sweet as that is, I am dying to know…."

"What do you think of MY suit?"

The stuttering and embarrassed mess that was her green-haired friend was the best answer Mina knew she would get, and at the moment, it was all she needed.

To say the exercise was an exciting watch would be an understatement, in Izuku's opinion. Just seeing how his classmates displayed their quirks to race through the maze of buildings and alleyways while also taking out any mechanical resistance they would encounter.

Some students did better than others, Like Todoroki being able to freeze most of the robots in place to make his trek to the "victim" that much easier. Sadly, his opponent, the tail quirked Ojiro, had also inadvertently been frozen in place, resulting in a rather dull win between the pair.

Seeing Asui leap between the walls of the buildings and go over the rooftops filled Izuku's mind with many ideas and questions. Her quirk was simply called 'Frog', and he had gathered from her that she had the more common abilities and traits of frogs. Could she develop her quirk past those and gain new skills? While Izuku would never try and limit quirks during his analysis, he had a theory that the more similarities that the different frog species had, like natural camouflage, could be something she may be able to develop, unlike a rather unique characteristic like breaking her finger bones to give herself claws like one specific species can do.

Then there was Tokoyami, who seemed to avoid most of the darker parts of the maze, which had cost him the match when he was paired against Jiro. Was it possible that how dark a place was affected Dark Shadow?

Others didn't have a chance against certain people, like when Izuku had to play the role of 'civilian', and the two students chosen to race towards him were Iida and Mineta.

The diminutive purple-clad young man really had no chance.

Ashido's went very well for her, having to go against Aoyama in the race and racing to Yaoyorozu's location. Using her acid to skate around the various robots and down the long stretches of alleyways made it easy for the pink-skinned woman to outpace her French-speaking opponent. When it was her turn to play the civilian, however, something happened that gave Izuku pause.

The two students racing during her turn as the 'civilian' were Kirishima and Sero, and while the race was interesting, seeing the tape-flinging student swinging from building to building while Kirishima just steamrolled through the walls and robots with his hardening quirk, winning the race by a mere few seconds before Sero swooped down. On the way back, Ashido decided that Kirishima would give her a piggyback ride back to the observation room.

All three were laughing about something as they walked in, as did a few of the other students seeing the silliness of Ashido on the back of the sharp-toothed classmate. Izuku had a feeling that she and Kirishima were friends before UA, given how close the two were at times or how they would bounce off one another in a conversation.

So why did his chest hurt whenever he saw them act like that?

Slapping his cheeks to refocus, Izuku had brought himself back to his current main issue, his own race. If there was one thing that was good about the observation room's computer, it had given him a chance to be picked last, allowing him to make the observations he could on his classmates for his notebooks later on.

But there was a downside, and it was because Bakugo was his opponent.

Initially, Izuku was worried, given how feral and angered the blonde had been these past few days, and the only times Izuku could remember Bakugo being that angry, it usually ended up having him being used as a punching bag in their earlier years.

And now, the explosive young man could do so and get away with it as "combat practice".

Sighing a bit to himself, Izuku looked over the alleyway before him that would be his entrance into the labyrinth of buildings, where within its dusty and robot-filled corridors, his classmate Koji Koda was waiting to be 'rescued'. Reaching over his back to take hold of the handle of the power sword, the buzzer to indicate the start of the match went off.

"Well… here we go… BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!"
