This is somewhat of a short chapter but I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter Thirty-Eight

As usual, I woke up a little dizzy. I inhaled deeply through my nose and out through my mouth several times while the dizziness calmed down. Being dizzy sucked, but at least I had stopped throwing up.

"Good morning," Edward said softly as he rubbed his nose against the back of my neck.

"Morning," I said as I placed my hand on my large belly.

"How do you feel?" He asked.

"I'm alright." I said as I slowly sat up. Edward helped me sit up. I needed help to do a lot of things now. "Did I say anything last night?"

"Just the usual," He told me as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against my forehead. "You feel a little warm."

"We just woke up though," I smiled as I stroked his cheek. "I'm always a little warm when I wake up. Warm and sore."

"Would you like to eat now?"

"Could we walk first? I want to stretch my legs. And maybe go for a swim. I just want to do something today."

"Of course, we can do whatever you like." He said as he helped me to my feet. I wobbled slightly once I fully stood. My center of balance was thrown off significantly now that I was carrying probably an additional forty-five pounds.

I wasn't exactly sure how many months I would be pregnant for. It's been sixty days since mine and Edward's mating, which meant I was sixty days pregnant. I thought I would be close to giving birth, but Esme assured me that I wasn't. I actually had a long way to go, which was terrifying because I wasn't sure how much bigger my belly could get.

I climbed onto Edward's back as we climbed to the ground. Our family was awake and already busy. Everyone wished us a good morning when they saw us.

Carlisle was already awake and making his rounds. He was holding one of the children on his shoulders as the child giggled. Once he saw us, however, he set the boy on his feet and sent him on his way.

"Good morning, my son and daughter," Carlisle said as he walked to us. He nuzzled the top of Edward's head, then mine before getting down on his knees in front of my belly.

"Good morning my grandson," He said as he placed both of his hands onto my belly as well as his lips. He looked up at me. "How did you sleep last night?"

"Better than usual," I said as I placed my hand over his. "I think he was uncomfortable last night, he kept kicking me."

Carlisle chuckled. "Edward was rough on Esme when he was within her belly. He was very large, and he liked to move a lot."

"Well, I sincerely hope it gets better. I don't know how much longer I can take this." I sighed.

Carlisle chuckled again before getting to his feet. "Soon. It shall be soon. Do not wish it to pass you by so fast, you will miss being pregnant and having this connection to your son."

"I think you need to be pregnant before making such bold statements," I chuckled.

He smiled. "You two enjoy your day. I am taking the boys hunting. We will be home in three days."

"May you have a successful hunt." Edward said.

"You will be alright here alone?" Carlisle asked Edward.

"Yes, we shall survive without you for three days. Emmett will be here as well." Edward said.

"Good," Carlisle nodded as he walked on, reaching out and patting Edward on the shoulder.

Edward placed his hand on my back as we slowly walked to the goddess river. It felt good to stretch out my legs and get a good walk in. Of course, after I swam a bit, I knew I'd probably need a nap. My energy levels were completely drained after any sort of activity.

"Just wait a second," I said as I leaned against him to catch my breath. We had just made it out of the village and I was already out of breath.

Edward rubbed my back very gently and waited for me. Once I caught my breath, we started walking again. Alice was running behind us, trying to catch up.

"Good morning, Alice," I said as she ran up to us. I stopped walking as she reached us, knowing she wanted to rub my belly. Rubbing my belly was pretty much a must-do for everyone who saw me.

She placed both her hands in my belly along with her head. Her face nuzzled my belly. I placed my hand on the back of her head.

"You must be in a mood," Edward said. "Are you sad because Jasper is leaving?"

"Eh, a little," She said. "This is his first big hunt. I am worried."

Edward placed his hand on her shoulder. "He will be alright. He is a strong fighter. I am sure he will be a wonderful hunter."

She sighed. "Yes I know."

"Do you want to come swimming with us?" I asked her.

"I cannot I am going to see mama. We are going to forage together." She smiled.

"Have fun." I smiled at her.

"Be safe." Edward told her as she ran off. He placed his hand over my shoulders. "Would you still like to swim?"

"Of course," I said, looking over at him as we continued walking. "Why would I not want to swim? I want to stretch."

"I was just making sure. You tend to get sleepy around this time and you have not eaten anything yet."

"I am fine. You're worrying to much," I said as I put my hands on my large stomach. "Do you think I'm too big?"

He shook his head. "Of course not. You are big, but you could never be too big. Hopefully you will get even bigger. It means my son is growing like he should."

I sighed and turned to him, "Remember when we talked about commenting on my size?"

It took him a moment to remember what I was talking about. "You are very skinny."

I laughed and shook my head. "Alright stop talking. Just stop."

"I am sorry. What do you want me to say?"

"Nothing. Don't say anything. Especially not about my size. I know I'm fat and I know I'm not skinny anymore. But you're not allowed to talk about that, remember? I understand that to you, weight means something completely different, but it makes me feel bad about myself. So, you shush about my weight."

Edward sighed dramatically. "Of course, my Bella. I will not longer comment on your weight, even though you are the most beautiful woman that has ever lived."

I giggled and placed my hand around his waist. I felt somewhat winded, and my legs were starting to hurt, but I didn't want to tell Edward that. If I did, then he'd declare that I would have to go back to our hut and rest.

I was happy when we made it to the river for two reasons. One, because I actually made it and now I can swim, and two because Rosalie and Emmett were there with Anthony. I quickly walked over to them.

"Good morning, Bella," Rosalie beamed as I walked over.

"Good morning Rosalie," I said as I grabbed onto Edward's arm so he could help me sit down beside her. I grunted as Edward lowered me on the ground beside her. "Hello baby boy!" I said as I reached out for Anthony.

Rosalie laid him in my arms. "He is very happy to see you."

He giggled and cooed, his tail whipping around happily. Edward was quick to grab his whipping tail and hold it so it couldn't smack me.

"He's getting so big!" I said as held him up. "Oh look at you!"

"He is getting big." Rosalie said proudly. "He is already trying to move on his own."

"He is? Wow," I smiled as I laid him on my belly. He cooed again and nuzzled his cheek against my large belly. Whenever he spotted me, he loved to curl around my belly and take a little nap. It was really sweet. He also didn't mind all of the kicking either. In fact, most of the time he let out a little giggle whenever one of the babies kicked him.

"It is the perfect napping size now," Rosalie giggled.

I started patting Anthony's bottom as he started closing his eyes. "Well I grew it just for him."

"How come Rosalie can comment on your size?" Edward asked.

"Because she can." I said before bursting out laughing as a tidal wave of water soaked him.

"You almost splashed your son!" Edward growled as he charged into the water at Emmett.

Emmett growled and fell backwards into the water with Edward, both of them wrestling. Rosalie and I giggled.

"How are you feeling?" Rosalie asked quietly.

"Tired," I whispered back. "I'm doing everything Esme is saying, but you know she's treating one baby instead of two."

Rosalie was the only person I openly talked about having two babies with. She believed me and never once tried to convince me I was wrong. She was a great friend, and she was very easy to talk to.

"Maybe you should double everything you are doing?" She said. "But you do not look sick. In fact, you are glowing. That is a very good sign. You know I only glowed towards the end with Anthony."

"I don't feel sickly or anything. I'm just really tired and hungry."

She giggled. "Then you are feeling normal. All of the other girls who are carrying boys feel this way too. They take a lot more to grow."

"At least I'm not carrying two boys," I smiled as I rubbed my belly. "Just one boy and a girl."

"You will have to think of names for a boy and a girl." Rosalie said as she rubbed the part of my belly that Anthony wasn't stretched out on.

"Bella come swim with me," Edward yelled as he easily threw Emmett off his back.

I sighed and looked at Rosalie. "You'll have to help me get up. I'm a little too heavy to get up on my own now."

Rosalie got to her feet before helping me to mine. Anthony stayed sleeping, unbothered by us going into the water.

The first time I took Anthony into the water, I was worried he wouldn't be able to breathe, but I quickly learned that the boys were natural swimmers and automatically held their breath if their heads went under the water.

Before I got to the point there I couldn't stand anymore, Edward swam over to hold me up. He wrapped his arms around me and easily held me up, so I didn't have to work so hard. Anthony stayed asleep, still unbothered by Edward's arms or the water.

"How are you feeling my Bella?" Edward whispered into my ear.

"I feel good," I smiled as I laid my head backwards onto his shoulder and closed my eyes. "The water really helps."

"Bella are you feeling okay?" Edward asked suddenly, his voice full of concern.

"I'm fine Edward," I said trying to turn and face him.

"Rosalie, take Anthony!" Edward hollered as his arms tightened around me.

"Edward what's wrong?" I demanded as I tried to get out of his arms.

Rosalie came over and grabbed Anthony from my arms. Emmett swam up behind her and placed his arms around her to help her out of the water. Anthony opened his eyes and looked around in frustration.

"Edward what are you doing!?" I demanded as I struggled out of his arms.

"Take a deep breath Bella. Just breathe slowly, my Bella." He said gently as he started to pull us out of the water. "Emmett, please go get my mother."

"I'm going to bite you, what are you doing!?" I snarled as he sat me on the ground. Everyone who was at the river had now stopped and were watching us.

"Bella just lay down," He said as he pushed on my shoulders. I was shocked that my body laid down. "Shh, it is okay. Breathe. It is going to be okay."

A woman with long red hair kneeled down beside us and stroked my face. "Is she in labor?"

"No, it is not time for that now." Edward said. "Do not touch her, she needs space."

I couldn't understand what was happening because I could see and hear Edward perfectly clearly. What was he seeing that I wasn't?

You will find out what is going on with Bella in the next chapter! Hope you enjoyed it!
