Beginning of Fates
7 Months Earlier
Two months have past since Blair announced that she was pregnant. To say Blair was in distress or in pain was an understatement. In the following days, Blair began to feel the pains of her pregnancy. Blair often times will begin to feel stress and pain on her back, usually in the mornings. Earlier in the weeks, Blair would often vomit before getting ready for her morning. It was very common the point Red Hat followed her to the bathroom, even when it wasn't to throw up out of concern for.
Even after Blair calmed down and handled the morning sickness. Different pain would occur, to the point Red Hat suggested for Blair to stay in bed for a while longer, until she felt a bit better. Blair didn't like staying in bed for so long, but couldn't help to lay down after various back pains and the occasional headache. Red Hat even did house some house chores for her, when she was unable to. Blair assured him, it will be okay. Red Hat wanted to believe that, but he couldn't help it.
"You don't have to do all of this." Blair said, as Red Hat entered their bed room.
"I don't like seeing you in pain." Red Hat replied. "I want you to rest if you feel pain. The less complications the better."
"You're sweet, but even with the pains, I want to get things done for you." Blair said.
Red Hat placed his hands on her shoulders and looked at Blair. "I'm scared Blair. Fighting spirits and bad guys is one thing, but pregnancy is quite another. You'll be in constant pain, and I want to be there for you."
Blair calmed down after taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry for worrying you." Blair sighed. "I know it's not easy for you, since I'll be in constant pain and will only get worse."
"I should also mention this Blair." Red Hat let go of her shoulders. "The Pro Curcuit is slow this season. So I'll be spending more time with you while I can."
Blair hugged Red Hat in response. "Thank you darling. You being here for me is more then enough."
Red Hat placed his arms around her. "I'm here for you."
"So anything you want to do for the day?" Blair asked.
Red Hat thought about it for a moment. "How about a little walk around the city? It should help calm our nerves down."
Blair nodded. "Okay then, a nice walk will do." Blair got up and took her deck box she left at the coffe table. "Who knows, maybe we will get a chance to Tag Duel or just a regular duel."
Red Hat smiled and took his own deck box he left behind. "If it comes to that, that would be great. If you start to feel pain or your begnning to feel uncomfortable. Let me know so we can call it of."
"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Blair nodded and soon got properly dressed. "Say, since we'l be out for a while. How about I make us some lunch?"
"That would be lovely my dear. Besides... a bit of lunch and drinks will do us good if we happened to stay out for so long. Maybe even make it a picnic." Red Hat suggested.
"Actually I'd like that. It will give us time to bond some more." Blair agreed.
"It settled then, a picnic it is. I'll even help out." Red Hat said.
After a bit of a while. Red Hat and Blair prepared a picnic basket filled with soft foods and a couple of water bottles. Once they got everything they needed, they soon head out into the city. Both exited their home as Red Hat locked the door and both began their peaceful walk while Red Hat carried the picnic basket.
Later During the Day
Red Hat and Blair walk around through the out skirts of the city. With Red Hat having his arm around Blair's waist, while he carried the picnic basket as they walked togather. Neither of them said anything through out their walk. Sometimes Red Hat would pause to check up on Blair, to see if she was okay. When she confirmed she was okay, they continued walking in silence. After a short perod of time, they reached a park located north of Domino city, not too far from the out skirts of the city where they lived.
"How about we rest up here." Red Hat said as they stopped walking right underneath a lone tree at the park, in the shade.
Blair nodded her head in agreement. "This is good spot. We even get to see the the entire park."
Red Hat and Blair sat down near the tree bark as Red Hat place the picnic basket in front of them. Blair sat there, while Red Hat layed his back against the tree, seemingy drifting to sleep. Blair sat next to him, shaking her head knowing Red Hat would fall asleep like this.
"Falling asleep again?" Blair askd.
"More resting then sleeping really." Red Hat said as he slowly open his eyes. "Besides, it's not often we get just hang out like this." They then felt the warm breeze. "It's nearly summer time, so we'll doing this kind of thing less often."
"I still dont understand how you can put up with the heat wearing all that?" Blair pointed out.
"You get used to it. The heat was a lot stronger at Duel Academy. So the heat here isn't that strong." Red Hat replied.
"Good point." Blair said as she got close to him andlayed her head on his shoulder. Which Red Hat responded by holding her close with his left arm.
Both of them said nothing for a while, as the park slowly started to fill up with more children and parents alike. Some older kids came by alone to play around in the fields. Some kids even took the liberty to duel each other on the fields. The kids dueling is what amused Red Hat the most when looking around the park. Red Hat began having thoughts after observing kids dueling. Would he have his own become a duelist like him? Or would said child of his become something else entirely?
This caused Red Hat to frown. He spent his entirely life to become a pro duelist. A duelist with such calier it was difficult for people to keep up at times. If his own child someday decided to not like playing, that was okay with him, but he couldn't shape the feeling of disappointment if that were to happen. Red Hat shook his head in disapproval. Why was he thinking this now? What brought this on? Could it just be because he spent so long doing what he liked the bets and never bothered to learn more skills then what was necessary? Is that what was troubling him? Red Hat doesn't want to admit it, but something within him felt like he wants something else, but he knew he couldn't act selfish. This was not a choice for him to make or force.
Blair noticed this and took note. "What's the matter Red Hat?"
"It's nothing Blair." Red Hat sighed.
"Now I know you're lying." Blair noted and frowned. "Did watching those kids duel trigger something inside of you?"
Red Hat was a little shoceked at what she said. "Am I that easy to read?"
"I know you Red Hat darling. You are a terrible lier." Blair pointed out. "Mind explaining what's on your mind?"
Red Hat took a deep breath before he spoke up. "Blair..." Red Hat paused for a minute trying to figure out how to tell her. "Blair... whould our child like and enjoy dueling and dueling seriously?"
Blair was taken aback by this. Why was he asking her this now? "Why are you asking that now? It's been two months, and your asking for something that has yet to happen. Why ask this now?"
Red Hat had no answer. He just looked on at the field of the park and began thinking some thought. Thoughts that he hope didn't come true.
Blair did not like this silence. "Red Hat, are you just assuming that your... I mean our child will dislike dueling or..." Blair then realized what he meant. "You think our own flesh and blood would despise you and dueling? What brought this on?"
Red Hat then looks at her with a blank stare. "I don't want to force it to become a duelist. I just don't want to be disappointed when it does want to be a duelist only to abandon it and change their mind."
Blair tilted her head in confusion. "What are you on about?"
"Many get into dueling. Then they just don't and go do something else while pretending to be duelists... mostly females. It's why I rarely duel them seriously..." Red Hat stated.
This comment however, only made Blair mad and scowl at Red Hat. "Excuse me!? You mean to tell me, you never took us seriously when it came to dueling just cause you assumed we were just wasting our time being duelists!?" Blair accused.
"That's not what I mean Blair..." Red Hat said, trying to defend hmself.
"No, I understand completely. You never took us or me seriously. You think if I have daughter, she'll act like them and just abandoned dueling and hate you for being a duelist. How closed minded are you?" Blair said raising her voice.
"Blair... let's not cause a scene..." Red Hat said, trying to calm her down.
Blair didn't listen and interrupted him. "You think our child will be like that? That, I'm nothing more then joke to you despite having to improve my dueling ability to meet your expections and to be with you!?"
"Blair..." Red Hat said as his eyes soften. "I'll be right back. I need some time alone to think of some things." Red Hat gets up and leaves his spot to rethink some of his thoughts.
Blair sat there with her arms crossed and an annoyed look. How dare he talked to her and their barely existent child like that! Did he really think so little of her? She had to learn fast when she was in ehr first year. She changed decks and learn to handle the Lightsworns! She even worked hard to become the top duelist and graduate as the top duelist! Was that not enough? What more did he want? Does he seriously think their child would be acting in such a way? Does he doubt her abilities? Blair was angry to the point she stormed off leaving her picnic basket behind and began walking away from the site.
Red Hat returned to his spot after calming down from his nerves. He's been meaning to apologize to Blair after he said that. He could have rephrased it better. The last thing he wanted to do was stress her out and get her angry, especially in her current state. What he realised when he got back was Blair was no longer picnic basket remained on the same spot.
"Blair! Blair!" Red Hat panicked, having no idea where Blair took off. "Blair where are you!?" He called out, but recived no answer.
"Blair..." Red Hat looked down, feeling upset. "I'm sorry Blair..." Red Hat took off while holding the picnic basket. He hoped Blair didn't go too far. He desperately hoped it wasn't the worst case senario. 'Blair... I hope your okay... I don't want to lose you.' Red Hat thought as kept on running. He wouldn't rest until he found her.
In the middle of the city, Blair was walking down the side walk aimlessly and avoiding pedestrians passing by. She was still angry at what Red Hat said to her. Trying to claim she didn't take dueling seriously. Did he sill believe she was the same girl she was back then? She had changed! She worked so hard to become who she is and only now he still decides she's not god enough!? They dueled plenty of times, they been working on each others decks, and even participated in tag duels! What had changed? Was it because having a child changed his mind?
It was only after a while where she calmed down, only to realize she wondered off without thinking and was somewhere in the big city of Domino City.
"Okay I think I wondered off..." Blair muttered as she took a look at her surrondings, ignoring the pedestrians walking by. "Who am I kidding, I got myself into this. So I need to return to the park."
She kept walking around for a little while before she stumbled upon a certain building. This building here was hosting a 32 person local tournament. She wondered if slots were filled or if she can participate. That's when Blair then got an idea.
'I'll show Red Hat that he's wrong. I take dueling seriously. I'm not the same girl he met 6 years ago.' she thought asshe approached the registry. "Excuse me. Is this tournament still open for regestry?" She asked.
The man in question looked up at her and took out a clip board with various names written on it. "There's one spot left for regestry. Would you like to join the local tournament young lady?"
Blair nodded. "Yes I will. I'd like to join."
The man handed her the clipboard. "Write your name down and then we'll enter the main hall where you'll meet the duelists inside."
Blair nodded and wrote her name down on the regestry paper. 'I personally think it's a contrive way to register for a local tournament, but I won't judge.' She finished writing down her name and handed over the clip board.
"Welcome to the local tournament. Enter through these doors to the main hall. The tournament will be begin at noon sharp. When you get to the hall, you'll see a scanner there. Place your deck a the scanner when you're ready to begin. You have less then an hour to do so or it will be immediate disqualification. No side decking is allowed so choose wisely." The man explained.
"Good to know. Thank you." Blair replied and entered the building, where she would head to the main hall.
Once Blair got there, she found many duelists that were also participating in this tournament. Most of them were men and some youg kids, who decided to participate in this tournament. Blair sat down for a bit and took a look at her deck. She currently rearranged her deck and extra deck. Adding and taking out some cards that she would use for this tournament. She new synchros were still new, so very few had access to them. She decided on going with a synchro varient of her Lightsworn deck for some interesting plays. She did update her deck to match the current ban list these tournaments held. As soon as she was ready she placed her deck in the scanner, where it scanned her deck and completed the regestry.
Blair sat down and observed her surroundings better to pass the time once the tournament began. She found this place rather interesting. Including the arena which was not too far off. She has seen how the pro league arenas are like. While it was no wherr near as fancy, it still looked pretty decent. If there was a big audience out there, then she would give it her all and show them all a good show.
Once the time hit 12 in the afternoon. The tounament began as the anncouner appeared on the field.
"Greetings everyone and welcome to another local tournament! As per usual, this will be an elimination match up. With each opponent you face you'll be climbing the ranks! The person to win all five rounds will taste sweet victory! Now it's time for you to use all your strength to seize glory!" Soon on the monitor the pictures of the duelist were randomized and brakets were made. After a bit of schuffling, the duelist were placed and orginized in their brakets. "It's just about time for the first round. Everyone ready? Let's duel!"
Blair noticed the monitor in the main hall and saw that her turn was going to be last. Which she assumed she'll be the last duelist to duel, until everyone else had there duel. This will take a while depending on how long each duel takes. Lukily, they will get shorter per round. As she was waiting for her turn to commence, which felt like forever. She was approached by a young girl.
"Oh hello there miss?" The girl said as she sat down with Blair.
Blair looked to her side and tool notice of the girl. The girl looked no older then 10 years old. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a yellow shirt with red overalls, that reached her kness, white long socks and black shoes. Blair smiled at the girl. "Hello there." Blair greeted. "My name is Blair, and you?"
"That's a lovely name. My name is Edith, it's nice to meet you." The girl named Edith greeted.
"Are you here to compete in the tournament?" Blair asked.
Edith sat down on the bench next to her. "I did... I got eliminated on the first round." Edith looked a bit disappointed, but soon cheered up. "Oh well, theres always next time right?" She smiled.
Blair couldn't help but smile at the girl. "I like that attitude. There's always next time. You just have to try harder, and maybe experiment with different decks."
Edith smiled at her advice. "Thanks you! That means a lot!"
"I do my best to lift the spirits of some people..." Blair then sighed as soon had a sadden look. "If only my husband can also lighten up..."
Edith just sat there confused. "Hm? What do you mean? Something happened between you two?"
"Edith..." Blair stuttered for a bit. "Do you take dueling seriously? And do you like dueling?" Blair asked.
"I mean... I like dueling. My neighbor Andrea is the one who got me started and taught me how to duel. Sometimes I have out and duel her sisters for fun." Edith explained.
"Andrea? Oh I remember her from my school days." Blair replied. 'So she kept her promise and started teaching these girls dueling while working on her family business.'
"You know her?" Edith asked. "Are you friends or something?"
Blair shook her head. "Not exactly. I only breifly knew her because of my husband and I was only a first year student at the time."
"You going on about your husband. He must be a great man right?" Edith asked.
"Yes he is..." Blair replied. "However, he takes some things too far and too seriously."
"Hm? Something wrong?" Edith question.
"The reason I asked you if you take dueling seriously is cause, my husband is under the impression girls don't take dueling seriously and just use it to waste their own time." Blair explained. "I told him he should lighten up and stop looking back at his own time. Times change, it wasn't like way back when he used to duel when he was younger. We girls do take dueling serously, but that wasn't good enough for him. He means as a profession and career."
"What a meanie." Edith pouted. "It's not like guys are always serious about dueling. I known some neighborhood boys that just play for fun and don't plan on making dueling their career."
"I try to tell him that, but her wouldn't listen." Blair sighed. "It's like he's so stubborn and still believes in his old outdated ways. I joined this tournament to prove to him. I do take dueling seriously, I want to get better, not just for him, but for myself too. I want to show himI can win tournaments and maybe even join the pros for a short time so he can realize that I do indeed take dueling seriously."
"You looked all fired up. You want to prove him wrong." Edith replied.
Blair soon caught herself. "Oh my, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have overloaded you questions and with my own problems. It wasn't my intent."
"Don't worry it's okay." Edith assured her.
Not to long after Blair and Edith were having their conversation. Blair's name was called out to come to the arena and begin her first round at the tournament.
"I'm finally up. Time to do this." Blair got up and walked towards the arena and begin her duel.
She walked up to the arena and noticed her opponent. Her opponent was a teenage boy with maroon hair and brown eyes. He wore a white long shirt with a brown vest,he worse brown pants and black boots. "So you'll be my opponent." Blair noted.
"The name is Jaime. It's nice to meet you." The teen named Jamie introduced himself. "Don't think I'll take it easy on you just because you're a girl. I'd be disgracing myself as a duelist."
Blair lightly smiled at that. "Good to know, you'll give it your all. So show me what you got." Blair said as she readied her duel disk.
"I'll show you what I can do!" Jamie said as he readied his duel disk as well.

Junk Synchron transformed into particals of green light as Ryko Lightsworn Hunter floated up into green glowing rings as the particals surrounded them and soon the field glowed bright green. "Synchro Summon! Appear Ally of Justice Catastor! (LV5 Atk: 2200 Def: 1200)" A mechanical 4 legged machine with gold and silver layout and blue lense appeared onto the field.
"Already a Synchro monster on the first turn." Jamie muttered.

"Alien Grey effect I can place 1 A-counter on one of your monsters I choose Catastor. When he's destroyed I get to draw 1 card" Jamie explains as parasite like creature attacted itself on Catastor and he drew his card.
"Very well. Catastor attack him directly! Blue Photon Blast!" Catastor locked on to Jaime and charged and fired a powerful blast of blue light hitting him directly.
Jaime: 8000 - 5800 LP
"I end my turn here." Blair ends her turn.
Hand 4
"It's my turn I draw!" Jamie draws.
Hand 5
"I summon Alien Warrior in attack mode! (LV4 Atk: 1800 Def: 1000)" A reptile like creature with silver armor appeared on the field. "Now go quickplay! "A" Cell Scatter Burst! Thanks to this card I destroy Alien Warrior and distribute A counters on all your monsters equal to it's level. Since he was level 4, both of your monsters recive 2 A-Counters!" Four alien like parasites attached themselves on to Catastor and Garoth respectively.
"I know what your plan is..." Blair responded.
"Really now? Then you knew I'd play this! I remove 2 A-counters, one from Catastor and one from Garoth to special summon Alien Overlord! (LV6 Atk: 2200 Def: 1600)" As the two parasite detatched themselves from the monsters. Soon another repitle like being appeared on the field. It had black armor with two purple orb on its chest, had six red arms and heavy claws which also resemble armor. "Now for his effect, I can place one A-counter on each monster you control once per turn. So those counters go right back!" The Alien Overload launched two more parasites at Catastor and Garoth as they attached themselves on them again.
"Oh jeez, so that means your facedown is..." Blair noted.
"That's right. Go continuous trap! Brainwashing Beam!" Jamie announced revealing his trap. "With this card I can take control of monster you control that has at least 1 A-couter. I'll choose your Catastor!" The trap radiated a pulsating wave with the parasitic couters, which caused Catastor to malfunction before coming to his side.
"This is going to hurt." Blair muttered.
"Battle, Alien Overlord attack Garoth! Overlord other effect. When it battles a monster with an A-counter, that monster loses 300 attack for each one. So that's 600 attack points lost. (LV4 Atk: 1850 - 1250 Def: 1300)" Alien Overlord eyes glowed red. As it did the A-couter responded by releasing a paralyzing gas within the monster weakening it before Alien Overlord teared it apart with it's claws.
Blair: 8000 - 7050 LP
"Not done yet. Go Catastor attack her directly! Blue Photon Blast!" Catastor locked on to Blair and charged and fired a powerful blast of blue light hitting her directly.

(LV4 Atk: 2100 Def: 300)" A light beast-warrior appeared on the field with robes and holding a staff. "Card of Safe Return is still on my field so I can draw 1 card. Now I play the tuner monster Junk Synchron! (LV3 Atk: 1300 Def: 500)" Junk Synchron appears on the field. "Now his effect I can bring back Ryko Lightsworn Hunter! (LV2 Atk: 200 Def: 100)" Ryko appears again. "Card of Safe Return I draw another card."
"Just what are you on about?" Jamie asked.
"Oh you'll see." Blair giggled at what she was about to do. "I tune Wulf Lightsworn Beast and Ryko Lightsworn Hunter with Junk Synchron!" Junk Synchron transformed into particals of green light as Wulf and Ryko floated up into green glowing rings as the particals surrounded them and soon the field glowed bright green. "Synchro summon! Appear Mist Wurm! (LV9 Atk: 2500 Def: 1500)" A large purple worm like creature appeared, floating in the air and releasing some kind of miasma.
"A level 9 Synchro?" Jamie questioned.
"Mist Wurm's effect, when it's synchro summoned, It can return up to three cards back to the hands. I return Alien Overload, your facedown, and Catastor to their respective hands. Or in Catastor's case back to the extra deck." Mist Wurm unleased powerful winds with miasma, which in turn blew away those three cards back their owners hands and extra deck. "Since Catastor has left the field. Your Brainwashing Beam is destroyed!"
Jamie gasped as his trap was destroyed.
"Oh I'm not done. I play my continuous trap Glorious Illusion! With this I get to special summon a Lightsworn monster. I choose to secial summon back my Wulf Lightsworn Beast. (LV4 Atk: 2100 Def: 300)" Wulf reappears on the field. "Now I send one card from my hand to the top of my deck to special summon Plaguespeader Zombie from the grave. (LV2 Atk: 400 Def: 200) I choose not to activate Card of Safe Return. I tune Wulf with Plaguespreader Zombie!" Plaguespeader Zombie transformed into particals of green light as Wulf floated up into green glowing rings as the particals surrounded them and soon the field glowed bright green. "Synchro Summon, appear Brionac Dragon of the Ice Barrier! Despite his name, he isn't a dragon. (LV6 Atk: 2300 Def: 1400)" A blue serpant like dragon appeared on the field. It's body appeared to be covered in dense ice shards.
"This is not good." Jamie muttered and took a step back.
"Oh I'm not done. Since I have at least 4 Lightsworns with different names I can special summon this card. Appear my friend Judgment Dragon! (LV8 Atk: 3000 Def: 2600) A strongly majestic dragon with white fur, red talons and a large wing span appears on the field.
"No! I'm defenseless. No protection, I'm a goner." Jamie gasped.
"Oh that's right. Mist Wurm and Brionac attack him directly!" Brionac lauched a blast of icy winds, while Mist Wurm fired a blast of wind at Jamie.
Jamie: 5800 - 3300 - 1000 LP
"Judgment Dragon finish him! Straight to the heart! Judgment Blast!" The dragon launches a blast of pure light, blasting Jamie head on and depleting his LP.
Jamie: 1000 - 0 LP
"So I lost..." Jamie clenched his fist. "I'll get you the next time we meet. Keep on winning okay." Jamie left the arena with a slight smile on his face.
"I'll see you later then." Blair replied as she returned to the main hall and sat down on her seat with the remaining duelists.
Blair waited for while longer for her next match. She only hoped that Red Hat was okay. After her first match, she now started to feel bad. Where was he? Was he okay? Will he find her here? She hoped for the best. Blair took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. She had to focus for her next matches that were coming up.
In the meanwhile, Red Hat was been wondering around the whole city. She spent a couple hours while still carrying the picnic basket. Trying to find Blair and hope she was okay.
'Blair where are you?' Red Hat thought. He couldn't rest. He just couldn't, not while Blair was in a vulnerable state. He had no idea where to even look. 'Blair, please be okay! I don't want to lose you.' Red Hat continued running around searching for any signs of Blair in any possible and logical locations.
Over an hour passed and Red Hat was feeling tired after running for so long. He forced himself to rest on a random bench while drinking some bottled water. After a few deep breaths, Red Hat calmed down, but slowly started to lose it. He wasn't getting anywhere. Just where was she? He was no returning home until he found her. He then slumped, beginning to question his state of mind. Just where will be the most logical place Blair would be when she got mad?
As if something answered his prayer, he took a look at some of the buildings to see if he could find any clue. One bulding in paticual had a monitor on the building broadcaster a duel. It wasn't until a certain angle where he saw something. He noticed an attack and it was Judgment Dragon?
'Judgment Dragon? That's Blair's ace monster. What's she doing competing in a tournament in her state?' Red Hat thought. He then rushed to get to the building where the tournament was being held. He ignored the fatigue he was feeling after running for so long, but he didn't care.
Inside the building, Blair just came out from her recent match. Blair was now guarentee to head to the finals. After defeating multiple opponents as quickly as she could. She was feeling a bit tired after dueling four rounds in a row. Was this how she was feeling right now because of her pregnancy?
Soon she heard a familiar voice. "Blair!" Red Hat called out as he approached Blair, still carrying the picnic basket. Red Hat panted, the fatigue catching up to him. "I'm glad I found you! You gave me a heart attack trying to find you. I was so worried."
Blair's eyes widened at that. 'He was loking for me? He was so worried, he tired himself out...' Blair hugged him close and they both sat down together. "I'm sorry for making you worry Red Hat. I shouldn't have just left while you were away. You even brought our picnic basket."
Red Hat shook his head and placed his on her shoulders. "No Blair, I shouldn't have said that. Blair, I'm sorry for saying that. I've been to caught up on the past when I used to duel. I used to just, not bother and ignore many duelist such as the females cause of the time period when I used to duel. Duel Academy didn't help matters."
Blair lightly smiled. "Red Hat, those days are over. Times change, and you take it too seriously." Blair looked at the monitor that was showing the final duel of the semi finals. "There was a little girl I met a while said she is neighbors with Andrea's family."
"Hm? Andrea? You mean that Obelisk Blue girl that plays a Dinosaur deck, much like Hassleberry?" Red Hat questioned.
Blair nodded. "Yes, the same Andrea from Duel Academy. She's been working the family business for quite some time, but during her free time. She teaches her younger sisters and even her neighbors the wonders of dueling."
"I see..." Red Hat tried to process all of this.
"That same young girl I met. She competed in this tournament as well. She lost on the first round, but she didn't mind. She remained cheerful and even said there's always next time." Blair explained. "She even said, she just enjoys dueling for fun. She has a brother who's not interested in dueling."
"Blair... really now? All of that in such a short time?" Red Hat questioned.
"There's more." Blair continued. "I purposely entered this tournament. I wanted to show you that yes, I do take dueling seriously. It wasn't just for you, but for myself as well. I'm not the same girl you met nearly 7 years ago. I've changed, and many people changed. Times are changing and you have to understand. Dueling back when you were younger was a much different then it is now. More and more people, even the girls, are taking interest in dueling. Either for fun or actually being competitive."
"Blair... I didn't know..." Red Hat replied. "I take dueling so seriously, cause I dislike the entitlment many have that don't take it seriously or just use it as a means for unrelated careers then just give up on dueling entirely, the thing that got them that far in the first place."
"Red Hat, sometimes people just want to try something else. It's not always for the reasons you think. I learned that, not eveyone want's to be super competitive. Yes, a duelist should take their dueling seriously. No one likes winning if your opponents either lets you win or doesn't take their opponent seriously. No one likes that feel, but that's becoming very rare now adays." Blair explained to him.
"Blair, forgive me for saying those things. About you, the others, and especially our unborn child..." Red Hat apologized.
"I should also apologize Red Hat. I shouldn't have gotten so angry at you and just wondered off like that. I let my emotions get the better of me." Blair also apologized.
"No," Red Hat replied. "You have every right to be mad at me. I shouldn't have been so judgmental and especially so soon."
Blair pondered for a moment to process all of that. Red Hat never apologized in such a matter before. Usually he would just ignore it or shake it off as if it wasn't a big deal. Heck, he would even take the punishments that would come to him. But no, here, Red Hat was no only apologizing, he's regretting his actions. "Red Hat... I forgive you... Just please don't be so closed minded."
"I'll try Blair.." Red Hat said and hugged her from behind. Then they took a look at the screen and saw Blair's opponent make it to the arena. "Show him what you're made of."
"Thank you my dear. I'll show him what I can do." Blair then let out a giggle. "Forgive me for this, but I took a card from your extra deck before I registered here and placed it in my extra deck." Blair walks off with a smile on her face.
Red Hat sat there and wondered what she meant. 'You took a card from my extra deck and it's in your deck before regestry? I wonder what card you took.' He thought. Although Red Hat had an idea on what card Blair took.
Blair meanwhile made it to the arena, where her opponent was waiting for her to arrive. Her opponent was another young man. He had blue hair with brown eyes. He wore an orange shirt with a black jacket, blue pants, and wore black boots.
"So you're my opponent. The name is Syun." The man named Syun introduced himself. "Let's see what you can do."
"Let's give this duel our all and put on a good show!" Blair said as she readied her duel disk.
"Very well, this is the final match and I'm going full power!" Syun replied as he readied his duel disk.

So long as this card is in play, all of your monsters lose 100 attack points multiplied by their level!" He explained as Flying Kamakiri lost some of it's power. (LV4 Atk: 1400 - 1000 Def: 900)
Over in the main lobby. Red Hat was watching the duel carefully. Needless to say, he was not amused. 'What a dumb card. It's the definition of a Do Nothing card. All it does is encourge passive plays, which aren't even good. Lowering attack points isn't good anymore.' Red Hat thought.
Back at the duel field. Syrun continues his turn. "Battle, Jain attack that Flying Kamakiri!" Jain charged in and swung her sword at the the insect. "Jain gains 300 attack points when she battles a monster." Syrun reminded as Jain increased the force in her attack. (LV4 Atk: 1800 - 2100 Def: 1200)
Blair: 8000 - 6900 LP

(LV3 Atk: 1400 Def: 900)" An purple worm like insect with red eyes appeared on the field. "It's still the battle phase, go Ultimate insect LV3 and attack her directly!" The insect slowly charged in before slamming itself at Blair.
Blair: 6900 - 5500 LP
"I'll end my turn with a facedown. Jain effect I have to mil two cards from my deck, but no matter." Syun ends his turn as he milled Power Filter and King Tiger Wanghu.
Hand 2
"It's my turn, I draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 4
"I play the spell card Foolish Burial! With this, I send one monster from my deck to the graveyard. I choose to send Wulf Lightsworn Beast. Since he was sent from my deck to the grave, I can special summon him! (LV4 Atk: 2100 - 1700 Def: 300)" Wulf emerged onto the field. "Card of Safe Return let's me draw 1 card. Now I summon the tuner monster Junk Synchron! (LV3 Atk: 1300 - 1000 Def: 500)" Junk Synchron appears on the field. "Junk Synchron's effect I can special summon a level 2 or lower monster, but it's effects are negated. Appear the tuner monster Plaguespreader Zombie! (LV2 Atk: 400 - 200 Def: 200)" A small plague like zombie emerged onto the field. The monster seemed to radiate miasma. "Card of Safe Return effect allows me to draw 1 card."
Deck 29
"What can you possible do with two tuners on the field?" Syun questioned.
"Who said I'm done? I play my continuous trap Glorious Illusion! With this I special summon a lightsworn from my grave. I special summon Celestia Lightsworn Angel! (LV5 Atk: 2300 - 1800 Def: 200)" An angel wearing white armor and holding holding a staff appeared on the field. "Card of Safe Return let's me draw a card."
'Are you going to do it, Blair?' Red Hat thought as he observed the duel.
"I tune Celestia Lightsworn Angel with Junk Synchron!" The pattern of green lights was shown once again only this time it shine much brighter. "The hopes of the world coalesce into a single star! Synchro Summon!" Soon what shine onto the field was a majestic white light greenish dragon with blue orbs around it's chest area. "Take Flight, Stardust Dragon! (LV8 Atk: 2500 - 1700 Def: 2000)"
Red Hat witnessed the entire thing. She took Stardust Dragon from his extra deck? 'Blair... is this what you mean? I think I understad now Blair.'
"I'm not done. Now I tune Wulf Lightsworn Beast with Plaguespreader Zombie!" The pattern of green lights was shown once again. "Synchro summon! Appear Goyo Guardian! (LV6 Atk: 2800 - 2200 Def: 2000)" A tall figure appeared, dressed in samurai garments and kabuki makeup. He wielded a jutte on the end ofa rope.
"Two Synchros? One of them is a level 6 that strong? How did you get that kind of monster anyway" Syun question, impressed with what he saw.
"Oh I have my ways. Goyo is only allowed at one copy anyway so it doesn't really matter." Blair explained with a smile. "Now I play the quick play spell Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Burden of the Mighty!" Powerful winds destroyed the continuous spell. (LV8 Atk: 1700 - 2500 Def: 2000) (LV6 Atk: 2200 - 2800 Def: 2000)
'There was no need to destroy it, but I guess it doesn't matter since you have Lyla in your deck.' Red Hat thought.
"Battle, Goyo Guarian attack that Ultimate Insect LV3!" As Goyo Guardian began to attack.
"Go trap card! Mirror Force! This destroys your monsters!" A barrier appeared on Syun field.
"I don't think so! Stardust Dragon effect! He can negate the destruction of a card or cards by tributing himself and destroy it!" Stardust Dragon disintegrated slowly into particles and destroyed the mirror force card. "Now that Mirror Force is gone, Goyo continue your attack!" Goyo Guardian swung his jutte and impaled Ultimate Insect LV3 with it. However... "Goyo Guardian effect, when it destroys a monster in battle, he takes control of the monster by special summoning it from your grave in defense position!" Ulitmate Insect LV3 was now on Blair's field, only being wrapped up by Goyo Guardian's rope. (LV3 Atk: 1400 Def: 900)
Syrun: 8000 - 6600 LP
"I set one card facedown and end my turn. Stardust Dragon's effect! When he was sent to the graveyard by his own effect, he comes back to my field during the end phase! Card of Safe Return let's me draw 1 card! (LV:8 Atk: 2500 Def: 2000)" Blair ends her turn as Stardust Dragon returns to her field and she draws her card.
Hand 4
Deck 27
"Argh! I won't lose like this! It's my turn, I draw!" Syrun draws.
Hand 3
"I'll tribute your Jain Lightsworn Paladin to summon Ultimate Insect LV5! (LV5 Atk: 2300 Def: 900)" A larger worm like creature appeared on the field. The insect stood tall on it's six legs. "Now I play the spell Sowrds of Revealing Light! So now you can't attack for 3 turns!" Many swords of light descended down onto Blair's field and created a barrier around the her field. "I end my turn here." Syun ends his turn.
Hand 1
Blair giggled at the exchange. "This is really fun. Watashi no turn! Draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 5
Deck 26
"I return one card from my hand to the top of my deck to special summon Plaguespreader Zombie back from my grave, but he get's banished if he leaves the field. (LV2 Atk: 400 Def: 200)" Plaguespreader Zombie reappears on the field. " Card of Safe Return let's me draw 1 card. So the card I placed at the top of the deck I redraw. Now I tune your Ultimate Insect LV3 and Plaguespreader Zombie!" The pattern of green lights was shown once again. "Synchro Summon! Appear Ally of Justice Catastor! (Atk: LV5 Atk: 2200 Def: 1200)" The 4 legged machine appears. "Next I summon Lumina Lightsworn Summoner in attack mode! (LV3 Atk: 1000 Def: 1000)" Lumina appeared on the field. Now for her effect. By discarding one card, I can special summon a lightsworn monster from my grave." Blair giggled as she discarded her card. "Since I have a Lightsworn in the grave I can summon the monster I just discarded. Appear Lyla Lightsworn Sorceress! (LV4 Atk: 1700 Def: 200)" Lumina chanted and Lyla appears onto the field. "Card of Safe Return let's me draw one card. Lyla's effect, by swtiching her to defense mode, I can destroy one spell or trap on your fied. So your Swords of Revealing Light are destroyed!" Lyla dropped to one knee and began chanting. As she did the barrier around them was destroyed.
"Ah! This doesn't look good." Syun muttered.
"In return Lyla can't change her battle position until the end of my next turn. Battle, Catastor attack his Ultimate Insect LV5! Blue Photon Blast!" Catastor locked on to the monster and charged and fired a powerful blast of blue light striking and destroying the insect. "Catastor effect, if it attacks a non-dark monster is immeadiately destroyed without damage calculation. Goyo Guardian attack him directly!" Goyo Guardian swung his jutte and impaled Syun.
Syun: 6600 - 3800 LP
"Lumina attack him directly!" Lumina hands glow in a bright light, and fires blast of white light at Syrun.
Syun: 3800 - 2800 LP

She mills Tuning, Judgment Dragon, and Solemn Judgment. Then she mils Garoth Lightsworn Warrior, Charge of the Light Brigade, and Heavy Storm.
Hand 4
Deck 19
'I could have ended the duel now, but I wanted to see what he can do.' Blair thought and smiled. 'Besides, it wouldn't be fun if I just finished him right now.'
"I may be in trouble. It's my turn, I draw!" Syun draws.
Hand 2
"I banish Ultimate Insect LV3 and Ultimate Insect LV5 to special summon Doom Dozer in attack mode! (LV8 Atk: 2800 Def: 2600)" A giant red centipede like insect appeared onto the field.
Blair merly giggled at it. "Sorry, but I activate the trap card, Bottomless Trap Hole! So your Doom Dozer is banished!" A large hole opened up underneath the giant centipede and fell down the bottomless hole as it closed.
"No!... It can't be..." Syun gasped seeing his last resort being destroyed. "I'll set a monster and end my turn." Syun ends his turn.
Hand 0
Blair giggled at this expression. "Don't get all flustered. Watashi no turn! Draw!" Blair draws.
Hand 5
Deck 18
"Battle, Lumina attack his facedown monster!" Lumina launches another blast of light and it was revealed to be Howling Insect. The blast was blocked. (LV3 Atk: 1200 Def: 1300)
Blair: 5500 - 5200 LP
"I may have taken damage, but that's actually a good thing. Ally of Justice Catastor attack that insect! Blue Photon Blast!" Catastor locked on to the monster and charged and fired a powerful blast of blue light striking and destroying the insect. "Since it was earth, it's immediately destroyed so it's effect doesn't activate!"
"I'm through. Nothing else I can do." Syun commented.
"It's over. Straight to the heart! Stardust Dragon attack! Cosmic Flare!" Stardust Dragon fires a powerful blast of energy, striking Syun directly, depleting his LP.
Syun: 300 - 0 LP
Syun clenched his fist in disappointment. "Guess I wasn't strong enough. You win, and you deserve it young lady." Syun waves at Blair as he leaves the arena.
"And that concludes our local tournament! Give a round of applause to Blair Flannigan for winning this local tournament!" The announcer, announced as everyone began clapping and cheering for Blair. Blair in return began waving at the audience. "However, the duelist's true battle is unending! We will continue to host exciting tournaments like this! Who will claim the glory in future victories!? We look forward to seeing you in the next tournament!"
Soon evryone in the audience get's up from their seets and begin leaving the building. Red Hat and Blair leave hand to hand, while Red Hat was carrying the picnic basket they have yet to open. Blair at that same tame gave him back his Stardust Dragon card. Red Hat took the card and placed back in his deck box. As they were walking, Blair soon felt fatigue after dueling for a quite a while. Red Hat held her close and and sat down at a nearby bench.
"Are you okay Blair?" Red Hat asked worriedly.
Blair took a few deep breaths. "Just a little tired. I been dueling for a while now. I never felt this tired after dueling like that before."
"Must be because you're carrying our child. Do take it easy Blair." Red Hat repiled.
Blair nodded. "I don't want to harm our child, so I shouldn't over excert myself."
"Also..." Red Hat leaned in and kissed Blair. "Despite all that, I'm proud of your dueling performance Blair. I mean it. Back there, I wasn't talking about you or many of the exceptions I encountered over the years." Red Hat removed his hat and took hold of her hands. "You don't have to prove to me anything with what you already shown me. You are a strong duelist. You're more then capable of adapting and learning. I love how far you have come as a duelist. I love that you are a Maiden in Love, Blair."
Blair was utterly speachless at what he just confessed. That's what he truly feels about her. She knew he was serious, judging by the way he took off his hat. He wouldn't dare remove his hat, especially not in public if he wasn't serious on his words. "Red Hat..." Blair hugged him as she layed her head on his chest. "I had no idea. I shouldn't have gotten so angry at you and jumped to conclusions like that."
"It's okay Blair. I don't want jump ahead myself, but it could be your hormones. I don't really know how this works. So I don't want to assume things." Red Hat replied, as he put his hat back on.
"That's okay Red Hat. I don't expect you to fully know how a woman feels. There are signs though, so do try and figure it out okay." Blair said.
"I'll try my best Blair." Soon both of their stomach began growling. Both blushed in embarrassment. "After all of that, we should eat our food we made."
"I would have prefered to eat at the park, but what can you do. Both of us are a bit tired." Blair took out the sandwiches she made and gave one to Red Hat.
Both of them began eating their sandwiches in silence. None of them said a single word and would occasionally steal glances at each other while eating. All that mattered to them right now was each others company. Once they finished eating, they cleaned up their smal mess they made and walked back home. Red Hat helping out Blair occasionally when ever she got a bit tired by fatigue or other reasons.
Later that Night
Red Hat couldn't sleep. As much as he wanted to sleep and rest up. He couldn't get his thoughts out of his mind. He even tried cuddling Blair for some comfort, but to no avail. Frustrated, he got up from his bed and put on his shoes. Not even bothering to put on a shirt. He left his room and entered his back yard and sat down on one of his chairs that were outside. As he felt the breeze of the night. He began thinking about how the turn of events will occur in a few months.
'Feeling troubled again?' Red Hat looked around at the sound of the voice. Right next to him was his old duel monster spirit friend Aussa the Earth Charmer. 'Been a while hasn't it Red Hat?'
"Aussa... It certainly has..." Red Hat replied and soon looked away and stared off into the night sky. "Aussa... will Blair be okay?"
Aussa adjusted her glasses. 'You're so naive. I can't fully say, but you have to keep an eye on her on a consistent basis. A woman carrying a child is a difficult task at hand.'
"I know..." Red Hat turned to look at her. "Will I be able to support her and our child?"
Aussa shook her head and narrowed her eyes at him. 'With that kind of defeated attitude you won't. Why are you so troubled?'
"It's just because, what if my child would dispises me for dueling and won't like dueling in the slightest." Red Hat explained.
'Is that all? Then you're so naive.' Aussa replied. 'That's not a choice you can make or force upon. You should know better then this by now?' Aussa glared at him. 'Ask yourself this. Whould you hate your own child because he doesn't like dueling? Or doesn't like dueling at your level?'
Red Hat then thought about it for a while, until he realized she was right. He remembered that, there was plenty at the academy that just dueled as a hobby, but wanted other carriers. Chumley, Atticus, Alexis, Bastion, heck even people he barely knew like Andrea that Blair mention a while back. They still duel, but they have their own carrer path.
"I guess... I was just to bind to see... I take dueling too seriously, that I couldn't stand seeing others not duel with the same standards." Red Hat then looked back at the night sky.
'Now explained to me this...' Aussa adjusted her glasses and looked at him. 'What else have you done with your life besides become a professional duelist? You can cook, you help your wife. What else can you do? You lack skills in many other areas. While yes, you are intelligant in your own right, you're still so naive in other aspects.'
"Harsh words, but true." Red Hat looked at her. "Is this what the old man meant? I should have more skills, not just dueling?"
'Now you understand. You're quite the simpleton even as an adult. It's never too late to learn new skills. I'm not saying you should go out there and start solving people's problems. That's not who you are. This is for you and your future family. Helping others is just a bonus and a benefit.' Aussa simply said.
"Anything else you want to share with me?" Red Hat asked.
'Just a little riddle.' Aussa smiled at him. 'The lightsworn deck your wife has. She didn't just get it from nowhere. Rather the deck found her.'
"What do you mean 'it' found her?" Red Hat question.
'Much like how the three dragons you two have. The monsters Stardust Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend, and Black Rose Dragon found you two worthy to wield them. Why else, would Stardust Dragon and Black Rose Dragon allow themselves to be wielded by you two, Red Dragon Archfiend allowed itself to be weilded by you when you two aren't what they call Signers. They represent a part of you. As does the Lightsworns represent a maiden's true nature.' Aussa explained to him.
"You're telling me this now why? And what does it all mean? What is a Signer?" Red Hat questioed, confused.
'You'll find out in due time. Everything happens for a reason. A Signer... that you'll have to figure out. If you can live long enough to see it.' Aussa replies as she disappears.
"I hate when you leave me like this. More questions then answers." Red Hat chuckled to himself. "Guess that's what makes fun in it's own twisted way."
Soon enough Blair came out to the backyard after hearing the comotion from Red Hat. Blair was currently dressed in her blue nightgown and wore slippers. "What are you doing out here so late? Can't sleep?" Blair asked, rubbing her eyes.
"Guess you can say that Blair..." Red Hat replied. "I guess you heard me talking..."
"If this was years ago, I'd say you were going insane, but I know better then that." Blair said. "Talking to your duel spirit friend Aussa?"
"That's right..." Red Hat rubbed the back of his head sheeplessly. At one point Blair met Aussa years ago during that.. incident they rather not remember. "We been talking about how things would go..." Red Hat had Blair sit down on his lap. "Blair... I've been thinking about this. I will learn more skills to not only improve myself, but also for our upcoming family."
"I see... Red Hat I know you been having doubts, but it's time we move on from this. I don't want you to be so stressed out by all of this." Blair wrapped her arms around his neck. "I know it's a hard thing to accept, but we can't control what happens, except our own actions. Please understand, no matter what happens. Do try and have a positive view on our family. With or without dueling."
"So long as the family we'll have someday remains happy... that's more then enough. But I want to do more for them besides dueling too." Red Hat responds.
"It's a start and I support your decision." Blair then looked at the night sky as she let go of her husband. "It's peaceful when it's late at night." Blair then got up, and she began to do something Red Hat never expected she'd do.
'Once upon a time, long ago, back before you and I were born. Varing stories of great adventures far and wide.' Blair began singing a song. 'Legends the form that bring excitment. Tales that form us deep inside. If we believe in, our hearts we can spread our wings and FORM!'
Red Hat couldn't help but smile at her song. He knew this song was supposed to represent a sense of story and adventure.
'Happiness full of dreams and joy. Fun will all our friends. Lots of happy hearts, twinkling stars and all hopes! All the things that we take with us. Where ever we go! Cause the best thing that we bring along is love!'
'Blair, that will always be true.' Red Hat thought as he continued to listen to her sing.
'These treasures we have for all to share. We'll make tomorrow a better place!'
'We have and always will Blair...' Red Hat thought, smiling.
'These treasures we have for all to share. We'll make tomorrow a better bright, promise you that, tomorrow well all be there! In a happy place!' Blair sung as she turned around and smiled at Red Hat.
"Liked my song I sang for you?" Blair asked smiling.
Red Hat got up from his seat and picked her up bridal style. "I enjoyed that song of yours." Red Hat chuckled. "Never knew you could sing."
Blair blushed after being carried like this out in the open, but kept her smile. "I don't sing very much, but I'm glad you like it." Blair wrapped her arms around his neck. "Mind if you give this lovely maiden a favor?"
"And what does my lovely maiden request of me?" Red Hat questioned.
"How about you carry this 'Maiden in Love' to our bed." Blair requested, holding back a giggle.
"That an be arraged me dear." Red Hat proceeds to carry Blair back inside their home.
As he closed the door and carried her all the way back to their room. Red Hat layed Blair on their bed. With him soon following suit. In due time, the both of them feel asleep with smiles on their faces. Although it's only the beginning of their troubles.
A/N: Originally I wasnt going to update this so soon, but I couldn't help myself. Anyway this is just the start of things to come. Time for some clarifications.
1) The decks used are decks used by the Tag Force cast. They weren't just picked at random. The characters are references to Tag Force in-game characters.
2) This was to show how things have changed and how both Red Hat and Blair have changed and grown over the years.
3) LORE doesn't match with the story cause it's not supposed to as it's based on Tag Force 3 pre-5Ds. Why else would both Red Hat and Blair wield RDA, Stardust, and Black Rose Dragon despite not being signers. Former only Red Hat can wield. It also doesnt follow """Timeline""" as it all just theories, until evidence is proven othewrwise.
4)The spell card Tuning is not the anime or in real life version. It's the version from Tag Force 4. Anime version; Search and tuner then mill top cards of the deck equal to it's level. In real life Tuning: Add a synchron tuner, then mil top card of the deck. Tag Force 4 Tuning: Add a synchron tuner, then mil top cards of the deck equal to it's level. Tag Force 4 version of tuning s different. So don't be confused between versions.
5) The song Blair sings is ased on another series. You can figure out what song it was. Normally I wouldn't put song references, but I couldn't help myself. Personally it's quite fitting for someone like Blair to sing that type of song.
That's all for now. Until next time and thanks for reading.
