Volume 3
Trolls
*BAM*
*THUD*
"OOF!" A member of the wrestling team was flung into his friends outside the school. "What are you doing, man?" he asked as he held out money. "We've got your money! It's right here!"
"Thank you, but I'm afraid your deadline was yesterday," Mikazuki said as she took an envelope of money from the wrestlers. "Get 'em!"
The other members of the Public Safety Commission then proceeded to beat up the wrestling team.
*SNAP*
From behind a tree, Yukinari secretly took photographs of the Public Satety Commission's actions.
Three delinquents were lazily sitting on a rooftop.
"Man, school is boring!"
"I agree! Let's just skip class!"
"Yeah!"
"Slackers will not be tolerated at Yōkai Academy!" said a sudden voice from behind.
Turning around, the delinquents saw Daisuke and others wearing similar suits to his.
"SHIT! The Public Safety Commission! RUN!" The delinquents attempted to flee...but were cut off and beaten up by the Public Safety Commission.
*SNAP*
Atop another rooftop, Kumaru secretly took photographs of the Public Safety Commission's actions.
After a daily swim, Tomoya climbed out of the pool. Just then, he came face-to-face with a behemoth-sized woman in a Public Safety Commission suit. Frightened, Tomoya quickly gave the woman Saki an envelope full of money.
Taking the envelope, Saki counted up the money and departed while saying, "Excellent."
"Phew, that was close," Tomoya sighed he slid against the fence.
*SNAP*
Hiding behind the gate, Tsuki secretly took photographs of the Public Safety Commission's actions; Mako was also accompanying her.
Kōmura Nazo says:
And so it went: the Newspaper Club's investigation to the nefarious dealings of the Public Safety Commission was proceeding at a rapid pace. WHEE!
"Wow! It seems they really are doing as they please," Mako said as he and the rest of the Newspaper Club members (minus Gina) stared at the pictures on the table.
"All we need to do now is gather evidence from the victims themselves," said Tsuki.
"But I highly doubt they'll help us whether we ask them or not~desu," said Yukinari.
"The wizard brat's right, they're probably afraid of the Public Safety Commission retaliating," said Kumaru.
"*SIGH* Well...maybe if we had some informants..." began the human girl.
"Informants!" exclaimed Kumaru.
"What?! You know of some?" asked Yukinari.
"Well...I remember a few days ago, there was this weird-ass fan club of girls who've been obsessed with us lately. So I managed to get them to let us visit them and ask any questions we want."
"Really? How?" asked Mako.
"Oh...just some persuasion for one of them," the incubus boy said as he began rubbing his crotch through his pants.
"Uh...that's some great help, Kumaru-kun."
"So, once we get them to testify, we can expose the Public Safety Commission~desu," said the wizard boy.
(The Fan Club Coalition)
Standing outside the club's doorway, the Newspaper Club slowly opened the door and peeped their heads inside.
"Um excuse me," said Tsuki.
"We're sorry to be intruding," said Mako.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAA?!" Just then, all four club members held their mouths wide open as they couldn't believe what they were seeing: pictures, dolls, body pillows, statues, and toys of the three male club members (even Mako in his outer and inner form).
At the center of the club sat the three glasses-wearing female members around a desk: Kono Kasahara, who had orange hair and green eyes; Kotone Nagai, who had brown hair and (prpbably) blue eyes; and Bunko Taira, who had blonde hair and brown eyes.
"Yes? Can we help you?" asked Bunko.
"Are you...Are you girls aware of the Fan Club Alliance?" Tsuki asked as she walked in; the boys hid behind her in terror.
"Why yes," answered the fat girl. "They were taken away by the Public Safety Commission be—"
"SHUT UP, BITCH!" yelled Kotone.
"AH! I-I mean NO! I'm afraid we don't know anything about them," said Bunko suddenly.
"WAIT A SEC!" cried Yukinari.
"THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION!" cried Mako.
"PLEASE TELL US EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABUT THEM!" cried Kumaru.
But the Newspaper Club were literally pushed all Newspaper Club members out of the room.
"PLEASE LEAVE AT ONCE!" demanded Kotone.
"THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US!" Kono yelled before slamming the door.
Kōmura Nazo says:
And it's the next morning. In the biz, we call this the "passage of time".
Gina was standing on top of a rooftop, spying on boys getting changed in the locker rooms through his long-scope camera.
"Ah excellent!" whispered Gina. "These'll make—"
Just then, she noticed a bunch of people walking down the hallway. "The Public Safety Commission! What are they..." As she looked where they were going...she nearly dropped her camera.
"Oh god! This can't be good!"
*SLIDE*
"Oh, the Public Safety Commission!" exclaimed Mr. Nekonome. "How can I help you?"
Not answering, the leader simply walked right up to a certain desk. "Aono Tsuki?"
"...Yes?" asked the secretly human girl.
"You are under arrest under suspicions of being a human."
Tsuki widened her eyes at the realization of being caught. In fact, the rest of the class became aghast at this revelation.
"H-Hold on a second!" Mako yelled as he arose from his seat.
"Yeah! That's a load of bullshit!" Kumaru yelled as he did the same.
"SILENCE!" The mere glance of Kuyā to both boys caused them to tremble as they saw Kuyā's right eye. "You two gentlemen are suspected of protecting this so-called human. Please come with us for questioning immediately."
As the three of them were escorted out of the classroom, all the students watched in shock and terror.
"Aono Tsuki? A human?"
"They're joking, right?"
"NO human could get into this school!"
"Are there any other members of the Newspaper Club?" asked Kuyā.
"Only two: Sendo Yukinari and Morioka Gina," said Mikazuki.
"Morioka Gina? Forget about HER. I'm sure she's learned her lesson after last year. Find the former. NOW!"
Around a corner, Yukinari held his wand tightly as he watched her colleagues be taken away. "Don't worry, I'll save you! ALL of—"
"NO!"
Suddenly, the young wizard was pulled back by...
"Gina-senpai! Let me go! I have to—"
"You have NO idea who you're dealing with!" protested the werewolf girl.
"...*SNIFF*..." Yukinari couldn't handle the pressure and began to break down into tears.
"Dammit! Why the hell didn't any of you listen to me?!" Gina thought as she embraced the crying wizard boy.
At the Public Safety Commission's HQ, Tsuki was bound in a chair with her arms chained-up behind the back post; Kuyā stood in front of her with her arms crossed.
"T-This is all a misunderstanding," Tsuki lied. "I-I'm NOT a human! And where's Mako-san and Kumaru-kun?"
"Relax," said Kuyā calmly. "They're being questioned like everyone else."
"Everyone else?"
Witness #1: Aono? Well, she's very athletic, but compared to everyone else, she's practically the worst of my class.
Witness #2: Well, I've been smelling something human from her.
Witness #3: Is THAT the reason why Mako always kisses his neck?
Witness #4: I smell it! I smell it!
Witness #5: Seems kinda suspicious.
Witness #6: They're always together.
Witness #7: Now that you mention it, when Akashiya Mako was being attacked, I don't think Tsuki ever went monster to save her.
Witness #8: Aono-chan? Well, she seems to have terrible intelligence in my math class.
"Seems like no matter who you ask, they all seem to point to you being a human," said Kuyā. "...Even your FRIENDS!"
Mikazuki: Do you believe Aono Tsuki is a human?
Kumaru: Tsuki-chan? A human? BULLSHIT!
Mikazuki: And how can you be sure about that?
Kumaru: Huh? Well...because no human could attend this school...or even reach this dimension.
Mikazuki: Have you ever seen what kind of monster Aono Tsuki is?
Kumaru: Seen? Now that you mention it...NEVER..."
Mikazuki: I've been investigating your relationship with Aono Tsuki. You seem to enjoy sucking her blood; vampires love human blood the most, which means that Aono Tsuki MUST be human...because you love her blood!
Mako: WHAT?! NO! E-Even if she WAS, her blood has NOTHING to do with her being human!
(Mikazuki sets down a glass of water onto the desk where Mako is sitting.)
Mikazuki: I've ALSO been investigating your species; vampires seem to have a weakness against water, no?
"MAKO-SAN!" cried Tsuki.
"At any rate, your friends will become just like everybody else," said Kuyā.
"'E-Everybody else'?"
All of a sudden, a box appeared, and inside the box was the three members of the Fan Club Coalition, beaten and tied up.
"THESE three said they've been watching you and your incidents...how you NEVER tried to fight back or turn into a monster no matter what," explained the Public Safety Commission leader. "Do you wish to change your verdict? Or would you rather listen to..."
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"MAKO-SAN!" cried the human girl. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO HER?!"
"There is also a small pond behind our shrine," continued Kuyā. "And we were thinking of letting Akashiya Mako take a dip...IF you know what I mean..."
"STOP IT!"
"You have a problem with that? Then why not turn into your monster form and STOP me! You know, everybody at this school usually turn into monsters to defend themselves...or their LOVED one; yous friends have always done that for YOU, so why not do the same for THEM?" Kuyā's eyes began to glow. "Just turn into your monster form and try to save your boyfriend...if you CAN! And even if your unable to, at least you'll prove us WRONG about our accusations...and we'll release your friends either way! Come on! No one's stopping you! Turn into a monster! Do it! DO IT! NOW!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"...Mako-san...I'm so sorry...goodbye..." Desperate to save Mako, there was only ONE thing Tsuki could do...
"OKAY! YOU WIN! I ADMIT IT! I'M A HUMAN! NOW PLEASE! STOP! LEAVE MAKO-SAN ALONE!" she finally cried.
"Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm...heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hah...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH...did you hear that, gentlemen?"
*SNAP*
With Kuyā snapping her fingers, two more boxes appeared right behinf her her, and inside were...
"Mako-san! Kumaru-kun!" exclaimed Tsuki silently.
"...T-Tsuki..." whispered the pink-haired vampire boy.
"Y...You're lying!" gasped Kumaru.
"...There are many layers of magic throughout this shrine," confessed Kuyā; the rest of the Public Safety Commission appeared all throughout the room. "They can not only make separate rooms, but also turn into large halls at will."
"Why...? Why would you say that?" cried Mako.
"What?! Did you know?" asked the shocked incubus boy.
"I...I would've died to keep your secret from getting out? So why would you reveal it for—"
*BAM*
Kumaru angrily punched Mako in the face. "How the hell could you keep this a secret from us, Mako-san?"
"KUMARU-KUN! WAIT!" cried Tsuki. "It wasn't his fault! He didn't—"
"SHUT UP! GET AWAY FROM ME! I can't believe I was friends with EITHER of you!" snapped the incubus boy.
"Hmm...gentlemen, please escort Kurono Kumaru back to class," said Kuyā. "As for Akashiya Mako, lock him up in a SPECIAL cell for vampires."
"WHAT?!" cried the shocked human. "Mako-kun did NOTHING wrong!"
"WRONG! He kept your human identity a secret, and that's WORSE than being a human!"
"TSUKI!" cried Mako.
Tsuki watched in horror as Mako was hauled away by Mikazuki, while a disgusted Kumaru was escorted back to school by Daisuke and Saki. Devastated, Tsuki fell to her knees.
"Gentlemen, you may now pass your verdict on Aono Tsuki," said Kuyā.
And in response, all remaining members of the Public Safety Commission said one word: "Guilty."
"Very well...Aono Tsuki, your sentence is...death..." Kuyā growled with an evil grin.
*BANG*
"DAMMIT!" Gina screamed as she banged her fist against the chalk board in the Newspaper Clubroom. "Why the hell didn't any you listen to me?"
*SLIDE*
Just then, Kumaru walked in.
"Kumaru-san! You're alright!" cried Yukinari in joy. "...But where's Tsuki-san? And Mako-san?"
"...S-She's a human," said Kumaru coldly. "...Tsuki-chan's...a human..."
"WHAT?!" gasped Yukinari.
"That's impossible!" gasped Gina.
"No, it's true," continued Kumaru. "She even admitted it."
"YOU'RE LYING!" Yukinari yelled as he shot up out of his seat. "There's no way Tsuki-san could be human~desu! Humans aren't even able to get into—"
"And Mako-san...knew about it. That's why he's been sucking her goddamn blood every day!"
"That's right...she always seemed too weak to be a monster...like when she was unable to defend himself when being accused of being a peeping tom," Gina said as she left the room. "*SIGH* You knew this would happen if you went up against the Public Safety Commission...and now, just look at what's gonna happen!"
"*SIGH* Yukinari-kun...what do YOU think about humans?" asked the incubus boy.
"Me? Humans? Well...I remembered growing up in a small village located in Salem, Massachusetts," explained Yukinari. "Growing up, my fellow villagers always told me that humans were frightening; they'd go on Witch Hunts, hold Witch Trials, and burn alive those who were found guilty."
"...My father told me that female humans existed only for incubi like us to impregnate them and carry on our species; aside from that, nothing else."
"ATTENTION! According to the Public Safety Commission, Aono Tsuki has been found guilty of being a human and will be publicly executed today at 4:45PM! All students and faculty of Yōkai Academy are to report to the execution grounds immediately!"
And so, Tsuki was escorted to the execution grounds by the Public Safety Commission; her hands were chained up in a wooden plaque.
"You mean...she's a human?"
"Now that you mention it, she always has a strange scent."
Tons of students gathered around as they watched Tsuki being hauled by the Public Safety Commission.
"You know...I hate humans but isn't execution going a little too far."
"I agree, I mean, human or not, she didn't really try to HURT anyone."
*WHACK* *WHACK*
Two students were suddenly struck in the back on their necks and knocked out—for apparently speaking out against Tsuki's punishment.
"YEAH!"
"DEATH TO THE HUMAN!"
"LONG LIVE THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION!"
The students angrily jeered at Tsuki as she was being brought up to the execution stand and cheering on the Public Safety Commission to enact their justice on the exposed human; deep down, however, all the students were frightened and couldn't bear the thought of retaliating against the corrupt organization.
"Oh dear," whispered Mr. Nekonome in the faculty longue. "What do we do? Someone needs to do SOMETHING about this!"
"Wasn't that human in your class, Nekonome-sensei?" asked Ms. Kotsubo.
"Uh...well... yeah...but...isn't Yōkai Academy's goal to help create a world where humans and monsters can co-exist, Kotsubo-sensei?"
"'Where humans and monsters can co-exist'? That'll NEVER happen, no matter how hard this school tries, human and monsters will NEVER learn to work together! It's all a stupid fairy tale!"
"It has already been decided: Aono Tsuki is to be executed immediately," said Mr. Kagome. "Even the headmistress is powerless against them."
"...Oh no..." All Mr. Nekonome could do was hold his hands over his mouth in terror. "...How could she approve of this?"
Looking out the window, Yukinari watched as Tsuki was strung up onto a cross. "Oh god! They're actually going to KILL him! Kumaru-san, what do we do?"
"You idiots!" hissed Kumaru. "Tsuki-chan! Mako-san! Why would you both keep this from me?" With his volume growing, the incubus boy couldn't hold it in anymore and began crying as he grabbed the back of his head. "YOU'RE BOTH...YOU'RE BOTH A BUNCH OF GODDAMN IDIOTS!"
*RATTLE*
"Dammit! I gotta get outta here!" Mako cried as he shook the bars in his jail cell. "But how?" Just then, he noticed the Rosario Cross around his neck choker. "Of course, if I remove the seal..."
*TUG*
"Come on!"
*TUG* *TUG* *TUG*
"COME ON! I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER, OTHER ME!" Mako furiously attempted to rip the Rosario Cross off his choker, but all efforts were futile as he began tearing up. "COME ON! SAVE TSUKI! PLEASE! I BEG YOU!"
Back outside, Tsuki was chained up to a cross as the students continued to jeer in anger, awaiting the human girl's death.
