*STAB*
"GAH!" Just then, Rupert was stabbed in the upper left part of his chest and collapsed right in front of the Newspaper Club members.
"RUPERT-SAN!" cried Tsuki.
"I am VERY disappointed in you, Rupert," Lord Oyakata whispered as he retracted his vine fingers. "You are a disgrace to wizards and witches everywhere!" he suddenly yelled. "I WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING! THE CITY! THE HUMANS! EVERYTHING!"
*RUMBLE*
"Wha...What's going on!? The sunflowers are moving at us!" Tsuki panicked.
"ARISE! MY HANABAKE! I ORDER YOU TO ARISE!" At Lord Oyakata's demand, more Hanabake rose up from the ground; Lord Oyakata held his book high into the air to command them. "DEVOUR ALL THE HUMANS! RIGHT DOWN TO THEIR GODDAMN BONES!"
Kōmura Nazo says:
Hey, MrWii000, you never mentioned him having any book in the last chapter. WHEE!
The Hanabake charged at the Newspaper Club members.
"I can't believe it! The sunflower was filled with monsters this whole time?!" thought Tsuki.
"Now is the time, my minions! Devour those humans! And turn this evil city into a sea of flames!" ordered Lord Oyakata.
"N-No! *COUGH* *COUGH*" Just then, Rupert slowly started getting up, holding a hand over his wound. "Oyakata-sama...please, stop this! *COUGH* *COUGH* Ever since I met Tsuki-san and her friends, I've sensed a possibility that humans and witches CAN co-exist in harmony. But if you destroy them and the city, that will NEVER happen! PLEASE! STOP THIS!"
"...Rupert...how could you do this to me? After I took care of you...you side with those humans?! YOU WILL PAY! ATTACK!"
The Hanabake lunged at the Newspaper Club.
"Stay back, Tsuki-chan!"
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
Kumaru sliced down some Hanabake with his grown nails.
"WH-WHAT'S THIS?!" Lord Oyakata widened his eyes.
"K-Kumaru-kun! Don't!" cried the human girl.
"I'm sorry, Tsuki-chan. I know fighting won't solve anything, but NOBODY lays a hand on Tsuki-chan...EXCEPT FOR ME!" Kumaru's incubus tail and wings sprouted out.
"This boy's an actual monster!" gasped Lord Oyakata. "And yet you're protecting those humans!"
*ROAR*
Another Hanabake lunged at Kumaru from behind to—
*SLASH*
"Oh no you don't!" Yukinari sliced the head off with a tarot card.
"You dumb little shit! This battle isn't for little kids like you!" said Kumaru.
"Oh, shut up~desu! You have no right to stop me, asshole!" yelled Yukinari.
This prompted the two indirect allies to glare at each other in annoyance.
Kōmura Nazo says:
Uh, boys, isn't there an evil wizard that you're fighting against? WHEE!
*ROAR*
"Oh, never mind! Let's kill these freaks!" yelled the incubus boy.
"RIGHT!"
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
"Damn these kids are strong!" thought Rupert.
"...I can't believe this is happening! Is it...Is it really too late to stop him? These monsters care for nothing except destroying the city and killing everybody! Is fighting really the only way to settle this...?" Tsuki could do nothing but tighten his eyes and fists.
"...Tsuki..." Mako tightly clutched his Rosario Cross.
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH*
Kumaru and Yukinari had just finished off the wave of Hanabake.
"*PANT* *PANT* How ya like THAT, loser! You can send as many as you want, but you'll NEVER defeat us!" Kumaru gloated. "Oh god! What the hell did I just say? PLEASE don't send out anymore waves! I'M TOO DAMN TIRED TO KEEP FIGHTING, MAN!"
"Why would you help those humans? You people...don't understand anything at all!" Lord Oyakata began chanting an ancient language as he opened his book. "Perhaps you should see...the 'true' future of the ranch...and the dark side of humanity!"
*FLASH*
"UWAAAAAAA!" Tsuki shielded his eyes from the bright flash with his arms. As the light dimmed down, she and her boyfriends gasped at what they saw: a desolate wasteland with tons of towers that had black smoke rising out of the top.
"Do you see my pain I've lived through?" explained Lord Oyakata. Over a hundred years ago, I was a part of a group of people that were exiled by the humans for being what we are: wizards and witches! Eventually, we managed to find sanctuary at this ranch; it was a beautiful place where many sunflower fields bloomed. For us, this place...was our last resort...and we called it 'The Witch's Knoll'. But then one day...those humans managed to uncover our home! They destroyed our homes and killed all the villagers...except for me, I was the only one who managed to escape...I eventually took my revenge by killing them and I remained here since that day, protecting my home from intruders like you. And now, a hundred years later, those humans want to destroy my home...for revenge! I WILL NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN!"
Just then, Tsuki remembered something...
"Never mind. What are you kids gonna do? The relationship between humans and witches is deeper than you think..." said the bus driver.
The next instant, the human girl bowed into a Dogeza position.
"Tsuki!" exclaimed Mako.
"What the hell are you doing?" asked Kumaru.
"What is the meaning of this? Are you asking forgiveness? NOW of all times?" yelled Lord Oyakata.
"Please forgive us!" Tsuki yelled. "I was too naïve because Mako-san and Kumaru-kun have always been nice to me, but I didn't realize how badly humans were hated!"
"...Y-You're wrong!" groaned the human girl. "We know why Rupert-san is suffering! He hates humans because they accidentally killed his parents! But fighting won't solve anything, it'll just deepen the wound! Instead of fighting, you should try to understand humans! And eventually became FRIENDS with them!"
"Being surrounded by all these nice people must have made me too naïve! We'll do anything to help your home, but PLEASE leave the humans alone!"
"...Anything...?" Lord Oyakata turned to the pink-haired boy right behind Tsuki. "Hmm...maybe there IS a way..."
*WHIP*
Just then, Mako was grabbed by the throat by the enemy and pulled right next to him.
"MAKO-SAN!" cried Tsuki. "What are you doing?"
"You claim that you were naïve, right? And you said you'd do anything to help my home, right? Well, here's your chance to fix everything: LET ME KILL THIS BOY!"
"MAKO-SAN!" Tsuki quickly got up to—
"STAY BACK!" Lord Oyakata yelled. "Don't do anything foolish! It's time you felt what it's like to have something you love get taken away from you forever! If you're willing to feel the same pain that I felt for over a hundred, then maybe...just MAYBE...I'll think about sparing the humans...though I can't make any promises..."
"Mako-san!" Tears of desperation began filling up in Tsuki's eyes.
"It's okay, Tsuki. I'll be alright," said Mako tearfully. "No matter what kind of history you have, it's always better to live together peacefully...me, Tsuki, Kumaru-kun, Yukinari-san, and even Rupert...we've all learned that from you," he then said to Lord Oyakata. "Tsuki's not wrong. I believe in her no matter—"
"SILENCE!" Hearing enough from the pink-haired boy, Lord Oyakata began tightening his grip on Mako's neck.
"MAKO-SAN!" Tsuki made an attempt to save Mako by rushing forward.
"You were warned! NOW DIE!" Lord Oyakata sent his Hanabake to kill Tsuki.
The Hanabake began attacking the human girl, leaving torn clothing and bite marks everywhere.
"TSUKI!" Mako croaked.
"If you love her so much, JOIN her in death!"
*WHIP*
Lord Oyakata tossed Mako into the pack, allowing the Hanabake to eat him as well.
"MAKO-SAN! TSUKI-CHAN!" cried Kumaru in tears.
Yukinari and Rupert also stared on in fear.
"Hmph! Now for the city..." Lord Oyakata gave an evil smile.
"What?!" cried the incubus.
"You'd said you'd spare the humans~desu!" cried Yukinari.
"Wrong, I said I'd THINK about sparing the humans, and I DID...for FIVE seconds!" Lord Oyakata's face steeped further into insanity. "And now...it's time to—"
Just then, the sky began turning blood red.
*FLASH*
*SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH* *SCREECH*
Bats swarmed out from the pack, knocking all the Hanabake back with light; inside the area was Mako—once again in his TRUE vampire form—holding a bleeding and barely conscious Tsuki with Mako's Rosario Cross in his hand.
Kōmura Nazo says:
Well, it's about time we got the REAL Mako in this volume...and just before it ends. WHEE!
"M...Mak-ko-s-san..." the human girl groaned.
"You dumb bitch...you had to go so far as to get yourself killed to save my life," Mako whispered in his dark voice. "But...thanks, babe. You saved my life...again..."
"N-No way," gasped Rupert. "That kid with the pink hair is...a fucking vampire?"
"Not just ANY vampire: a Shinso Vampire!" explained Yukinari.
"He only become that whenever Tsuki removes his Rosario Cross around his neck," explained Kumaru.
Laying Tsuki down on the ground gently, Mako slowly walked over to the enemy wizard.
"You're...You're a vampire as well?" gasped Lord Oyakata. "Argh! You're a bigger pest than I actually thought! DIE!" He unleashed his—
*BAM*
Mako gave an upward kick to Lord Oyakata.
"Unfortunately for you, I'm not as forgiving as that pussy you once strangled," Mako growled as he twirled the front of his hair. "I crave blood more than words...just like you..."
"Uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Do not take me lightly, boy..." Lord Oyakata groaned as he got up. Holding up the book, he was suddenly swarmed by a pack of Hanabake. "I have lived for over a hundred years...so I'll show you my TRUE strength...and make you RUE the day you tried to defy me!" Eventually, the pack turned into some sort of black, ginormous, blob-looking monster.
"*TSK* Seems like this idiot won't understand shit until he dies," the silver-haired vampire thought.
"Oh god! Oyakata-sama can't be doing what I think he's doing," thought Rupert. "OYAKATA-SAMA! NO! YOU MUSN'T! STOP! PLEASE!"
*BOOM*
Kōmura Nazo says:
This chapter's climactic battle...will be concluded in the NEXT volume. WHEE!
End of Volume 4
