Volume 8
Shikigami
"*SIGH* This must be the place..." Tsuki stood before the student council building. "Well, if I don't wanna be expelled, I better get inside."
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"Hello? Is anybody in there?" she called out while standing at the entry door. "My name is Aono Tsuki. And I'm here on behalf of—"
"Aono Tsuki!" exclaimed somebody right behind her. "I've been informed by the Headmistress Mikogami that you'd be joining us today."
Tsuki turned around and gasped at the sight of a taller girl with glasses looking down at her.
"Welcome to the student council, Tsuki-chan," the girl said with closed eyes and a friendly smile. "I am Kaneshiro Houki, president of the student council. It's a pleasure to meet you." She held out her hand to shake Tsuki's, then she opened the door and held out her free hand in a "come in" gesture. "Please, come on in."
"STUDENT COUNCIL!" Kumaru yelled in the Newspaper Clubroom. "Why the hell does Tsuki-chan have to join the student council? And while the Newspaper Club needs her?"
"It was Headmistress Mikogami's demand," explained Mako, "in exchange for lifting Tsuki's planned suspension. Which reminds me, she's actually been acting really weird. I mean, she's been extremely troubled over something, and she fought using the other me's vampire blood. Has her body been experiencing any changes we don't know about?"
"Whatever!" Kumaru snapped as he left the room. "I'm gonna have a little talk with the headmistress and make her bring Tsuki-chan back!"
"Me too~desu!" said Yukinari.
"Don't bother!" said a biker-looking man that was sitting on the railing on the stairs. "The headmistress ain't in school right now," he said as he hopped down.
"Rupert-san!" Yukinari yelled as he hugged the older wizard. "I missed you so much~desu!"
"You! What the hell are YOU doing here?" asked Kumaru.
"Well, I'm now Headmistress Mikogami's attendant. And we haven't seen each other in a while," said Rupert. "But more importantly, Tsuki-san's in danger. She still being targeted by ANTI-THESIS; in fact, there appears to be a mole in the student souncil. They plan to destroy the school festivals from the inside!"
"WHAT?! ANTI-THESIS IS STILL AROUND?! AND THEY'RE IN THE STUDENT COUNCIL?! THAT MEANS TSUKI'S IN DANGER! AGAIN!"
"But that's why the headmistress made her join the student council: she's being used as bait to lure out the mole.
"...I will not accept Tsuki being used as bait!" said a boy from around a corner under the stairs.
"WAH! Shirayuki-san! Stop hiding around corners!" the annoyed incubus boy yelled.
"If ANTI-THESIS knows that Tsuki joined the student council, they'll have an easier shot at killing her! You've gotta save her! NOW!"
"Unfortunately, I was ordered NOT to intervene; in fact, Headmistress Mikogami ALSO ordered me not to tell ANYONE, but I've already defied THAT order," explained Rupert.
"Fine! I'll save her myself!" The snow goth stormed off to find and rescue his girlfriend.
"I'm going too!" Kumaru followed Mizo from behind.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The student council meeting begins NOW!" announced President Kaneshiro. Before her sat the student council members in a circular desk. "First off: I would like to introduce you all to our newest member...!"
Nervous, Tsuki stepped forward and said, "Uh, h-hi, everyone...I'm Aono Tsuki."
*STOMP*
"Welcome to the student council!" the other members shouted as they stood up.
"EEK!" The human girl jumped back and was caught by President Kaneshiro.
"Now relax, Tsuki-chan. They're all VERY friendly," the president said. "Please, take a seat and we'll begin our meeting."
And so, Tsuki took her seat next to a girl with creepy smile; this smile made Tsuki shudder a lot.
Kōmura Nazo says:
Sheesh these members are creepy. WHEE!
"Alright, let's get down to business!" announced the President. "This concerns ANTI-THESIS!"
The mere mention of the word "ANTI-THESIS" was enough to give the human member traumatizing flashbacks.
"As you all well know: ANTI-THESIS is an organization of Monstrels that have recently been terrorizing this school, as well as interfering with our preparations of the school festivals. Because of their actions, many students have been growing more violent, some have even died! And that is why we must put a stop to this once and for all! I want to put an end to this madness and help change our school for the better! Thus, we must put a stop to ANTI-THESIS once and for all! And stand firm in organizing the upcoming school festivals!"
After the meeting, Tsuki was rushing back to school in terror.
"Hey, Tsuki-chan!"
The human girl turned around and shrieked at the sight of the creepy-smiling girl from earlier standing right behind her.
"I'm sorry I didn't get to introduce myself earlier: I'm Miku, Ueshiba Miku. It's a pleasure to meet you." She held out her hand to shake Tsuki's.
This time, Miku's smile was a little too much of Tsuki to shake hers.
"Ah, you must still one of those nervous types, eh? That's fine." the weird-smiling girl put her hand down.
"Uh..." began the human girl, "...it's n-n-n-n-nice to meet you, Miku-cha—"
"Miku! PLEASE call me 'Miku'. Anyways, how did you enjoy your first meeting?"
"Meeting? Well...I never knew someone like Hokuto-san existed in this school," Tsuki began. "I mean she seems to desire peace...and proves it with her actions...I'm actually kinda touched. At first, I thought joining the student council was a huge mistake since I only did it to keep staying at Yōkai Academy, but after hearing Hokuto-san's desire for peace, I want the same thing as her: to try and main peace within this school as well," she continued. "And so, I can continue to be with Mako-san."
"Hmm...you seem like a nice girl," said Miku. "Ima let'cha in on a little rumor..."
"Rumor? WHAT rumor?"
"Rumor has it...there's a mole...in the student council...from ANTI-THESIS."
"AN ANTI-THESIS M—MRPH!"
Miku quickly grabbed Tsuki's screaming mouth and held a finger in front of her. "Shh...not so loud." After a few seconds, she removed her hand and finger off of the human brunette's mouth. "Are you saying you weren't told about the mole?"
Tsuki slowly shook her head.
"I see..." Miku's creepy smile suddenly turned into a suspicious glare as she glared into Tsuki's eyes.
"...ME?! You can't possibly think that I'm—"
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hah! Of course not! I'm kidding!" laughed Miku. "Personally, I think it's the president herself..."
"'President'? You mean Houki-chan?!"
Miku nodded. "Yeah, I mean...considering what she was BEFORE entering this school—and how she even got in..."
At that point, Tsuki widened her eyes as President Kaneshiro's friendly smile flew through her mind. "It can't be..."
"But what do I know? It's just a rumor after all," Miku said as her smile returned. "Anyways, I'm sure if you came across ANTI-THESIS again, you'll take 'em out. Later." And so, she turned around and walked—
"Wait a second!" Tsuki shouted with widened eyes. "'Again'? How did you know I went up against ANTI-THESIS?"
"What, DID you?"
"Well...I DID...but I NEVER told anyone in the student council about that? So how did YOU know about that? You couldn't've unless...unless..." She suddenly turned around to Miku...but she wasn't there. "She's gone! Where did she go?" Just then, she noticed a small crevice on the ground right by her foot.
"AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH! I totally forgot that I wasn't supposed to mention ANTI-THESIS yet! I was planning on getting more infromation out of you... before I KILLED you!" yelled Miku from...underground...
Just then, something burst out from under the crevice a grabbed Tsuki by her leg.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Kumaru suddenly froze in his tracks. "Did you hear that?" he asked Mizo.
"Yeah, over there!" Mizo ran over to a destroyed building where the scream came from.
The incubus boy and snow goth looked around...only to find a big crevice on the ground by their feet—along with some bloodstains...
"It's blood!" yelled Kumaru dreadfully.
"Oh no. You don't think..." whispered Mizo dreadfully.
"AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH!" Suddenly, two hands burst out of the ground and grabbed the two boys by their ankles.
"KYAA! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING!" Kumaru screamed.
Just then, the arms slowly began pulling both boys into the ground. "Eee hee hee hee hee! My body can be elongated like an earthworm, tunneling through the soil. With these abilities, I dragged your boyfriend underground...and KILLED him! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH!"
"WHAT?! HOW DID YOU DO THAT, YOU BITCH?!" screamed Mizo.
Miku finally emerged from under the ground, now looking like a water dragon/snake-like hybrid Monstrel. "The same way that I'm going to kill YOU TOO: BY BURYING HIM A—GAH!"
Suddenly, Miku saw herself starting to be pulled underground. "WHAT'S GOING ON?! AM I...GETTING PULLED UNDERGROUND?! WHO THE FUCK IS PULLING ME UNDERGROUND?! Then Miku was finally pulled deep down into the underground. Looking down. she bore witness to who was pulling her...
"TSUKI-CHAN! BUT...BUT I THOUGHT I BROKE YOUR NECK JUST TO BE SURE!"
But as you would've expected, Tsuki was now a vampire, and she pulled the Monstrel girl down more to punch her in the face...
*BOOM*
...knocking her back out onto the soil ground, near Kumaru and Mizo. The two then witnessed Tsuki climb out of the ground and they both screamed, "TSUKI!" in joy.
"If you ever hurt my friends...I'll KILL you..." the human-turned-vampire growled before dropping to the ground in exhaustion.
Kōmura Nazo says:
This chapter's climactic battle took 136 words! WHEE!
"Tsuki-chan!" Just then, President Kaneshiro rushed to the scene with Mako, Yukinari, the rest of the student council, and some doctors. "What happened here?"
"H-Houki-chan! Mako-san! Miku's a...a mole...from ANTI-THESIS..."
"A mole~desu!" exclaimed Yukinari.
"Oh my god!" Mako gasped.
"Dammit! I'm so sorry, Tsuki-chan!" President Kaneshiro cried. "This is all my fault!"
"N-No it's not!" groaned Tsuki. "Don't back down! Listen: I...I wanna bring peace to this school! We can do so...by destroying ANTI-THESIS for good...and changing this school...for...the...better..." were the last words she whispered before losing consciousness.
"TSUKI!" the pink-haired vampire boy cried.
"ARGH! GET HER TO THE INFIRMARY! NOW!" President Kaneshiro ordered. She watched as the doctors, the student council, Mako, and Yukinari rushed off...then fixed her glasses and walked away in another direction—leaving Kumaru and Mizo trapped in the ground by their arms and heads.
"HEY! GET BACK HERE, YOU BITCH!" Kumaru yelled.
"YEAH! DON'T JUST LEAVE US HERE LIKE THIS! HELP!" Mizo cried.
President Kaneshiro returned to the student council building and walked through the hall—
"Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm...that was very entertaining, Hokuto," said a voice from the shadows right behind her. "I never thought you'd be one to actually make false promises on bringing peace to this school."
"...You're wrong," claimed the student council president. "I never said I wanted to bring peace to this school, I said I wanted to 'change' it for the better."
The figure walked out of the shadows. "And that's why you formed ANTI-THESIS, right?"
"Yes, Kirie. And as promised, I will change this school...TO WALK DOWN THE PATH OF DESTRUCTION!"
Kōmura Nazo says:
(shocked)
HOLY SHIT! THE PRESIDENT OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL IS THE TRUE LEADER OF ANTI-THESIS! WHEE!
