"I mean, I am just trying to say that you could have talked to me." I said, "We could have figured it out."

"Figure out what?" she said, "You moved on so quickly with that..."

"Because... I thought we broke up." I said, "Alright, I fucked up, and I'm sorry! But I was so angry and frustrated... That's not an excuse, but that's what happened."

"It doesn't matter now." she said, "And I doubted if you'd have taken the pregnancy news positively anyway."

"I would have!" I said, "I mean, I'm pretty sure I'd have been shocked for a few minutes or something, but then I'm pretty sure I'd have been... just happy!"

"What's the point of this discussion?" she said, "And you said that you'd have been happy? Cool!"

"I'm not kidding, Bella," I said, "I'm thinking about all the possibilities... If only I had tried to understand the actual problem, everything would have been different. We would have done everything together..."

"I'm not kidding either," she said, "Just because you'd have been happy about the pregnancy news doesn't mean we'd have done everything together."

"And why do you think so?" I said.

"Well, you got married to Tanya so soon!" she said, "I'm pretty sure if you had met her even when we were together, you'd still have fallen for her. And even if we'd have gotten married, a quick divorce would have followed that... Just like what you're going through right now."

"You don't know anything." I sighed.

"What do you mean?" she said.

"You don't know anything about my marriage." I said, "You don't know why I got married. I was an idiot. I..."

"What do you mean? Why did you get married?" she asked.

"I don't want to talk about it." I said, "Just... let it go."

"Oh wow! So you harassed me to open up about my issues, and now you don't want to talk about your dirt!" she said, "What sort of hypocrisy is this!"

"Because that's what it is! Dirt!" I said.
