"It's a lemonade day, so Mama said I should wear yellow!" Carlie grinned at me, "See? My dress also has a lemon!"
"That's really amazing!" I smiled, "How was the lemonade?"
"It was soooo good!" she said, "I love it so much! I added the sugar!"
"You added it? No way!" I said.
"I did." she said, "Grandma let me do it."
"Wow!" I said.
"I also made a drawing with Grandpa! We made a lemon!" she said.
"That's so cool!" I smiled.
Was this how my life was going to be now onwards?
Did I get to spend an hour a day with my daughter, and that's about it? And I wasn't sure if this too would continue. Once Bella figured out all her other matters, and once she fell back to her routine... Well, I wasn't sure if I'd get any time to spend with her.
This wasn't fair.
After the earth-shattering conversation with her yesterday, I didn't really know what to think anymore.
There were so many regrets.
Everything could have been avoided if only...
If only she had told me about her problems?
If only I had tried to understand her better?
If only we had gotten more time together?
If only I had gone to her after our breakup?
If only I avoided moving on quickly?
If only someone else had told me about it?
If only James had told me instead of taking the rash decision?
If only I hadn't taken a rash decision to marry Tanya?
Yeah...
There were so many things that went wrong!
And now, it was too late!
"Do you like lemonade, Daddy?" Carlie asked me.
Yeah, it was too late.
Now I had a daughter who didn't know anything about me, and I didn't know anything about her either.
"Yes, I do like it." I smiled.
"Can we make one more glass for him, Grandma?" she asked Mom.
"Sure." she said.
"We're going to make lemonade for you, Daddy. I will add the sugar." she grinned.
