Hey guys, welcome to Chapter 6! Since the chapter was split, I won't be introducing any new OCs. But I have thought of a way to introduce five of the OCs. So stay tuned, hope you enjoy it.

No one's POV

Victor was in his office, working on a program. Java was inside of his computer while Vicey was powering it. Java was monitoring Victor's coding, pointing out any errors. And Vicey played video games on another screen.

"Okay Java, what do you say? Is the code ready to run?" asked Victor.

"Should be, I take it you talked to Commander about accessing the crime database with your program."

"Yeah, he said that it should have access. Let's run this thing!"

Java flew over to the run button on the computer screen and pressed it. He waited a few seconds before reading the error messages.

"Error: Access denied. Error: The variable "Robberies" is undefined. Error: The vari-"

"Yes, I get it. I wonder why this thing isn't letting me get access? I can literally pull up the database on my computer and it'll work just fine! I give up, for now."

"There are many different approaches to this problem. Do you want to explore them now?"

"No thank you. Hey Vicey, what are you playing?"

"Pokémon Showdown, an online-"

"Yea I know that game. I've played it so many times. I once had this amazing team for NDAG, National Dex Anything Goes. It was amazing, I grinded up 2200 elo. It was basically legendary spam. Yveltal Dynamaxes first turn or uses taunt against those-"

"Never knew you were into video games," said Scott, walking into the room.

Victor flipped around wildly. "Uh, captain! Didn't see you there. I wasn't actually playing any games! I mean, I was about to but I didn't start. I was just talking about my NDAG team. How it works-"

"I'm going to cut you off right there. How's your program coming along?"

"Victor said he was going to quit," said Java.

"Well actually, I said-"

"I have many possible solutions to his problem, but he dismissed them and instead wanted to play Pokémon Showdown."

"I just wanted to take a break, I've spent the past week working on that thing."

"We, spent the past week working on that thing. At least I didn't give up."

"Okay, now you're just-"

"Instead of arguing, why don't we have a look at the problem?"

Victor crossed his arms. "Why am I always the one cut off while speaking? Anyways, the problem is pretty simple. The crime database won't give access to my code. And I desperately just want to hack through the security system. But of course that'll get me kicked out of Oak Agency."

"Have you tried talking to the Commander to give you access?"

"Duh! That's the first thing I did. He said that he'll give permission but it still doesn't give access. I came to him about the problem again. And he said he'll try again. It didn't work so I went to him again." Victor noticed Scott trying to speak and shushed him. "Lemme finish. So he said that he already gave me access, so he didn't know what the problem was. So I showed him all the error messages and we tried a direct file link. But that didn't work so he didn't know what else to do."

"Are you done yet?"

"Yes, I am done."

"I noticed you've been pretty focused on this code. Can't you pull up the crime database on your computer?"

Victor rolled back in his chair. "I'm so glad you asked."

Scott immediately knew he wasn't going to be glad he asked. He sat on an extra chair and waited for Victor's long explanation.

"The program is actually a complicated algorithm. What it's supposed to do is to take all the different crimes all around the Calzei Region. It takes these crimes and sorts them into different groups. These groups range from types of crime, to which evil team did it. It does some complicated mathematics and predicts different evil team goals, what they're after, and the most likely place they'd strike next. It would be very useful if I could get it to work."

"Neat, well you keep working on that. Hopefully it all works out. I actually wanted to ask you something. Have you seen Scout anywhere?"

"Yeah, she was playing with Pio. They ran through here and ran out."

"Okay, thanks Victor."

Scott strode away while Victor turned back to his computer. He pulled up the database and started looking through it. Trying to see why it wouldn't sync up with his program.

"Hmm, that's odd," said Victor. He opened a mysterious looking file, it was marked as a possible threat.

He scanned over the file. A lot of information was missing. The tag was a suspicious Gamma Team jet flying away from the Calzei region. It was labeled as a non-immediate threat.

"What do you think Java? Is this worth investigating?"

Java floated on screen. "It is highly suspicious. I know, let me trace the jet's trajectory through the most likely route it took. Obviously it couldn't fly behind itself. It would be a pointless waste of gas. There were storms in the east and they were pointing in the relative northern direction. Inputting variables, running trajectory simulator."

A map opened up on Victor's computer. The big yellow dot represented the jet, while all the arrows represented possible landing spots.

"I ruled out anywhere that isn't of interest. I also pulled some satellite images in order to figure out its trajectory better. Since there have been no civilian reports or Oak Agency of Gamma Team attacks, there are only two possible options. Nuclear Float, an island filled with nuclear plants, and an island known as Palay."

"I'm guessing they're going after the Nuclear Float."

"Negative, according to recent files. A team Plasma warehouse filled with uranium material was raided by Gamma Agents. According to some back browsing, Palay Island is home to untold artifacts of power. But rumor has it that the island is alive. Planes and boats mysteriously crash and sink upon getting close to the island. Only one person managed to get on and get off the island alive. He recorded it in an online journal that he deleted days later. Apparently, there is a force field that destroys anything auto, the only reason he survived was because he was in a sailboat."

"Interesting tale, we should probably investigate it with the rest of the team."

"We can only host a mission ourselves if the commander approves."

"Well then my device hopping pals. I think we have a presentation to make."

Forty minutes later

"And those are my reasons for why I think that this mission is of vital importance. We must take this as a very serious mission. For it may Bellossom, bosom? Oh, blossom! For it may blossom into a bigger problem. For Sinnoh! Thank you."

The commander stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Before we jump into the seriousness of the issue at hand. I couldn't help but notice you read everything word for word."

"Java and Vicey said that I had to read everything word for word so I wouldn't get sidetracked. Which I never do. Not even that one time during-"

"He does it again! Claims he never goes off track and goes off track." groaned Ellen.

"Anyways, if what Victor says is true, this could be very troubling indeed. Imagine what the Gamma Team could do with an artifact of power. Those poor Pokémon are being treated horribly! The online journal of the man's time on the island is also quite troubling. I don't know if that's the kind of place I'd want to send anyone."

Juan stood up. "Well clearly, the Gamma Team didn't think twice about sending their people into a place like that. We can't wait around, if they find this rumored artifact, it could spell doom for the Calzei region, and elsewhere. Name one reason the Gamma Team hasn't done anything too radical."

"They only truly resurfaced a few months ago. All the other time was just spent trying to make a Gamma Team. The Oak Agency struck them down many years back, they wouldn't want to be struck down again," said Scott.

"They're just biding their time. Waiting for a big opportunity to strike us down. And put themselves at the top," said Joyce. "But of course, we won't let that happen. They can and will be stopped!"

The commander smiled. "Your optimism is infectious. Since you all seem so set on this, I'll authorize the mission. I'll call ahead and prepare a jet. Gather everything you need. You'll leave in the late afternoon."

They all saluted the commander as he walked away. As soon as he left, Joyce called for a brainstorm on items they'll need.

"Since we're dropping from a plane, we'll definitely need wingsuits," said Juan.

"Repels will be a nice addition. The prospect of a living island is frightening." commented Ellen.

"We should take rescue cables. Always a welcome addition to any mission. We could tie ourselves together to prevent us from losing each other," said Joyce.

"Handcuffs, taser," said Scott.

"Are you sure a taser is necessary?" asked Joyce.

"Criminals run all the time. There have been many missions I've done where a taser would have been useful. That mission where I chased down an ice cream man who kidnapped children."

"An ice cream man?" asked Juan. "Am I hearing wrong or did captain just make a joke?"

"I'm completely serious. He was using the dis-"

"I think I've heard enough." interrupted Ellen. Anything else?

"Trackers, we'll want trackers to keep tabs on the Gamma Team members," said Victor.

"Then it's settled. Let's gather everything everyone." said Joyce brightly, skipping away.

"Honestly captain. I think you need to catch some Joyce-itis," said Juan.

6 hours later

All five Oak Alpha members stood on a jet, they were all wearing wingsuits and goggles. The deployment hatch was already open, and Scott was just going over a few details.

"Everyone remember the landing zone okay! You can't see it from here, but we're landing in a clearing that's in the middle of the forest."

Victor raised a hand. "Why are we landing in the middle of a forest? I mean, wouldn't it be filled with trees and stuff? Cause-"

"The forest is near the middle of the island, very close to the destination of that weird temple. The clearing also provides cover for us to regroup while we assess the situation. Everyone ready?"

They all nodded and walked towards the open hatch.

"Hey, if anyone's worried about skydiving. Raptor can help fly you halfway," said Victor.

"Well, I'm good," said Ellen. And then, she jumped.

Everyone watched as she spread her arms and legs. The fabric opened and she glided down into the island.

Scott, Victor, Joyce, and Juan followed suit. The jet circled back and left as the five agents glided down towards the forest.

As they gilded over the huge island. Joyce noted all the crumbled and ruined statues scattered over the island. She didn't think much of it however.

They eventually touched down in the clearing after a while. They looked around at the clearing in shock.

"What happened here?" asked Juan.

"Those poor Pokémon. I guess the Gamma Team did run through here," said Joyce.

Ellen examined the battle marks. "From my experience. I'd say a very large battle happened here. Most of the Pokémon partaking were grass types. That would explain the constant scorch marks and rotted trees. Poison and fire type moves work very well against them. See these shards of ice? Most likely from an ice type special attacker. These Pokémon looked to have been poisoned from a physical attack."

Juan had an angry look on his face. "I know one Gamma Team member with Pokémon that fit your analysis. Her name's Olivia, a Gamma Team elite."

"Was she the who, y'know?" asked Victor.

Juan nodded, Scott then came to a realization that thankfully changed the subject.

"Wait, if there was a battle here. Do you think they landed in the same place?"

"Well, if they had the same reasoning, then I don't see why not," said Victor.

"Well if they did, then that means it seemed safe for them to land at the time. But if there was this huge battle afterwards, wouldn't that mean-"

"Well your next few words are going to be correct! Look!" shouted Ellen suddenly.

Vines were creeping into the clearing from the dark forest as Pokémon started to appear all around them. All five Oak Agency members formed a defensive circle. All of them holding their pokéballs.

"There's no way we can fight them all," said Ellen,

"But there doesn't seem to be any escape routes, we'll have to fight our way through," said Scott.

"You're forgetting one thing. We can travel up." offered Juan.

"Are you sure Raptor can hold all five of us? I'm not saying he isn't strong, but we should give him so much to bear."

"Well whatever we do we better do it quickly. We'll be forced to fight if the Pokémon come closer," said Ellen.

"Alright, we'll use Raptor. Go, Raptor."

The Staraptor appeared from Juan's pokéball. He looked at the oncoming Pokémon and stepped back.

"I need you to fly all five of us out of here. Three of us will have to-"

Juan's words were cut off as sharp edged leaves came flying at them. In a flash, Xander, Darv, Scout, Candy, Java, Bell, Gnasher, Orchid, and Magia appeared. Ready to defend their trainers from any harm.

Xander didn't even flinch at the ammasing Pokémon before he leapt forward and used Flamethrower. He sprung forward and slashed a Carnivine with Shadow Claw before unleashing Bitter Malice on a Tangrowth.

"Alright Magia and Orchid, you know the drill. Focus on using super effective attacks. Gnasher, you hang back here."

Magia pulled out her wand and readied Fire Blast to launch at a Victrebell. Orchid charged forward and slammed a Tangrowth with Superpower. She then opened her claws and used X-Scissor on an approaching Leavanny

"Java, use Shadow Ball! Bell, you stick with me."

The little Rotom darted through the grass types. Dodging a Power Whip, Solar Beam, and Giga Drain before letting loose a Shadow Ball.

"Scout and Darv, assist Xander with Air Cutter and Dragon Breath."

Scout jumped onto Darv's head as he flew out to where the raging Zoroark was. The signs of battle were already starting to show on Xander as continued wreaking havoc on enemy Pokémon.

"Candy, lend support to anyone who needs it."

Candy nodded and immediately went to use Heal Pulse on Xander. He ran over to Orchid and used Protect right as a Victrebell used Gunk Shot.

"There I got it!" shouted Juan as he finished tying a third rescue cable to Raptor. He ran over to Scott and handed him one of the cables.

"Take this, Raptor will fly you out."

Scott took the rope and ducked as a Cradlily went flying over his head. Having been punted by Orchid's Superpower.

"What took you so long?"

Juan gave him a look. "Don't worry about it. I totally wasn't trying to tie three cables on a bird who at the moment wasn't trying to fend off a multitude of grass types."

Juan ran off to Victor. Suddenly, he felt the cable lift into the air as Raptor fended off a Tangrowth.

"Keep it still Raptor!"

Raptor gave an angry caw as he dodged a Sludge Bomb. He used Brave Bird on the Tangrowth, causing Scott and Juan to both tumble onto their feet. Juan immediately and rushed to Victor, who was hiding behind Bell.

"Take the cable, Raptor will pull us up to safety."

"About time! I don't know how many more attacks Bell can take! He's been hit with Solar Beam, Seed Bomb, three Razor Leafs, two Power Whips, Sludge Bomb, which I don't think counts- where did he go?"

Juan was heading for Ellen, who was backed in a corner of the forest with Gnasher and Magia, when something grabbed his leg. A hidden Carnivine snagged him by his leg and started pulling him upwards.

"Oh no. Help!"

Pink, blade-like things came flying at Carnivine. It hit it directly in its legs and caused it to release Juan. He fell to the ground and looked to his savior. It was Joyce.

"Thanks Joyce, but I thought you didn't like attacking other Pokemon."

"No, but I only do it if I absolutely have to. I feel kinda bad for them. I hope I didn't hurt them too badly."

"At least it didn't eat me that bad. Anyways, we're going to fly out of here. Take this cable and hold it tightly. I need to get to Ellen."

He rushed off and found Ellen, whose Pokémon were trying to fend off a large force of grass types.

"Ellen! Follow me! Return your Pokémon!"

She hesitated for a bit before recalling her Pokémon. She ran towards Juan as he ran to where Raptor was. There was a large force of Pokémon blocking their way. The Pokémon turned to attack them.

"We might just be screwed. Hey guys, help!"

Ellen and Victor stepped back, ready to dodge as the grass types focused their attention on them. Suddenly, a screech filled the forest as Raptor flew forward. Scott grabbed Victor while Joyce grabbed Ellen. Raptor pulled up with all his might as the Pokémon below failed to reach them. Juan and Ellen climbed up directly onto Raptor's back as they left the forest behind them.

"I definitely do not want to ever do that again. It was so crazy, grass type Pokémon-"

"We know Victor. We were literally there less than five minutes ago," said Scott.

"I was only there physically. But we made it out in the end! Is everyone okay?"

"Yeah, everyone! Let's take an example and be positive," said Ellen.

"Oh, I have a joke. Why was Pelliper always predicting rain?" asked Juan.

"Because it has Drizzle. Not funny at all," said Ellen.

Joyce, however, thought otherwise and laughed at his joke. Ellen gave her a look from on top of Raptor.

"You're only laughing to make him feel better. His joke was absolutely lame."

Victor looked up at Ellen accusingly. "He was just trying to lighten the mood. If you have a better joke, why don't we hear it?"

"Oh I don't have to make jokes to lighten the mood. And you're obviously challenging me to make a joke because you have some jokes yourself."

"I see someone's dodging my question."

"I'll only make a joke if you can validate asking me to make a joke by making one yourself."

"Zrrt! I shall speak for Victor." came Vicey's voice from Victor's pocket.

"I asked-"

"I have numerous unemployment jokes in my memory. Unfortunately, none of them work."

Everyone except for Ellen and Scott burst out laughing. Ellen was just fuming, while Scott couldn't help but crack a smile.

"Forget I said anything," said Ellen.

The next few minutes of the flight were spent cracking jokes. Java eventually joined in with his own hilarious jokes. Little did the trainers know that Vicey and Java were pulling their jokes from the internet.

Ten minutes later

"I guess we use the knocker. Who will be doing it? It's actually interesting that they don't have a doorbell. I guess-"

Scott stepped forward and knocked on the gate. Everything became silent after that.

"I don't like this, it could be a trap. Thos destroyed totems are also unsettling. This whole island is a trap," said Juan.

"Ah don't worry about it. Nobody would put traps around their home. Not only is it a safety hazard, but homes should be welcoming," said Joyce.

The gates slowly opened. The progress suddenly stopped for a bit before resuming. When they finally opened, no one was there.

"That isn't welcoming," said Juan.

They walked in slowly, scanning the environment as they passed through. There were four buildings off to one side, while a long passageway flanked by two long walls gave way to a series of arenas.

"Welcome, to," said a boy, panting for breath.

"The Palay Trial," said a girl, most likely the boy's twin.

"Wait, can you guys speak one at a time instead of finishing each other's sentences?" asked Juan.

"We dislike."

"Talking apart."

"So you'll just."

"Have to deal with it."

Juan sighed. "We really don't have the time."

The boy rolled his eyes. "Fine, welcome to the Palay Trial. You'll have to battle 5 of us if you want access to the temple that holds the Blue Orb. Your first fight will be us. Any questions?"

"Yes actually. Mind my language but did you just say the freakin Blue Orb?" shouted Victor.

The girl spoke this time. "Yes, he did in fact say the Blue Orb. Isn't that what you seek."

"Heh heh, we are so screwed if the Gamma Team gets their hands on it."

"Um, quick question Victor. What is the Blue Orb?" asked Juan.

Ellen, who had turned slightly pale, spoke up. "The Blue Orb is a legendary artifact. It is used to awaken Groudon. When it is given to Kyogre, Kyogre transforms into Primal Kyogre. It is the counterpart to the Red Orb, which awakens Kyogre and transforms Groudon into its primal state."

"How come the orbs don't awaken the Pokémon they transform into their Primal State?" asked Scott.

"I'm pretty sure it's a safe guard made by Arceus so that they don't immediately rise to power when awakened. The person awakening the Pokémon would need both orbs if they want to have its Primal Form."

"Exactly." continued the boy. "Now that you've talked among yourselves. Who shall battle?"

Joyce stepped forward. "Excuse me, I know this may go against your trial rules. But we don't have to solve this with a battle. I'm guessing you battled against a group previously."

The boy was surprised at her guess. "How'd you know?"

"We've been trailing that group. They're known as the Gamma Team."

"Your friend mentioned them earlier, who are they?" asked the girl.

"A group of dangerous criminals. As part of Oak Agency, it's our job to stop them."

Both the boy and the girl turned white.

"They won access," said the boy.

"To the temple."

"It's not too late to stop them. We can start by getting to know each other. I'm Joyce, and these are my partners, Juan, Victor, and Ellen. And he is our captain Scott."

"I'm Cassy," said the girl.

"And I'm Cade."

"Wait, hold up. Cassy, Cade. Cascade? Seriously?" asked Victor.

"Yes, and if we're going to stop this Gamma Team. We're going to need help from our siblings Pike, Aurora, and Laura," said Cassy.

"You have a brother named Pike? Someone get me off this island," said Victor.

Five minutes later

"And that is how we came to be the guardians of the Blue Orb for twenty years." finished Aurora.

"I like that story, it shows that even people like Archie can turn over a new leaf. I always like to believe that anyone can change," said Joyce.

"A wise philosophy, always believe whatever you hold true Joyce. Don't let anyone change that. Anyways, there's the path to the temple. Laura will help show you the path, there's something she needs to say to you five as well. We're unable to cross the path, but we wish you luck."

Laura stepped forward as her siblings left. She stared down at the ground as she spoke.

"I still can't believe I let criminals into the temple. They seemed so genuine. I'm sorry for causing all this trouble for you."

"Everyone makes mistakes, what's important is that we fix them," said Ellen.

"Thank you for giving me a chance." She looked up and smiled at them. She then told them to follow her and started off to one side of the beach.

She led them to a path that started into the sand, and then led off into some trees.

"This is where we part ways. Good luck with stopping the Gamma Team."

"Thank you Laura. We'll make sure to reclaim the Blue Orb for you," said Scott.

Juan's POV

We ran through the path, pushing through leaves and branches. The trees faded away into the huge temple. And four people standing in front of it.

I immediately recognized one of them as Olivia. My blood boiled just thinking about her. I will get my sister back. The other three people were all new to me, but they didn't matter.

"Oak Agency, put your hands up where I can see them," said captain from next to me. We all sent out our Pokémon and stood ready. We weren't messing around this time. Typhlosion tried to give an intimidating hiss from next to me.

"Shoot, it's the authorities! I'm too young to go back to jail again!" shouted the blond haired Gamma Team member.

"What about-" started one of them. He had weird silver hair.

"Forget about Emo Girl! It's her fault for taking so long!"

Just then, a roar sounded from the temple. Everyone around me tensed as it came closer. Suddenly, a woman with black completely drenched in water came tumbling out of the cave.

"I got it." she gasped.

"May I ask, what did you get?" asked captain. A perfect line said by him. The woman immediately got to her feet and twisted.

"You have approximately ten seconds to do what I said before we start doing things by force."

The blonde guy thought for a second. "Actually, I'm going to use those ten seconds to run!" He grabbed the silver haired person and bolted into the forest. "I hope this is the last you've seen of Lord Kazuma!"

"Come on Juan! Everyone else stays here and arrests them!"

Captain and I ran after Kazuma and the other guy. I looked back to see Ellen and Victor taking on Olivia and a guy in a lab coat. The woman with the Blue Orb was nowhere to be found. I suspected Joyce was after her.

We ran with our Pokemon into another forest, the dense trees made it hard to see them. But they were extremely loud as they crashed through the foliage.

I caught glimpses of them through the thick trees as we chased them down. They were proving to be elusive. We broke through the trees and stood ready, the two Gamma Team members had sent their Pokémon. A Goodra and a Hisuian Lilligant. Looking at the Lilligant only reminded me of that one Pokémon Coordinating Contest I watched with my sister.

"I don't think you really want to fight us. Just surrender peacefully and make things easier for all of us. I know you're one of the higher ups. You can go to jail and have a nice talk with me about where my sister is," I said, hoping to Arceus that Typhlosion tried to look menacing.

Kazuma spoke. "Your sister, let me think I don't remember her well but, she wasn't that girl with an Altaria who is frequently tortured."

I froze, everything faded away. He was bluffing, right?

"Typhlosion! Attack him!"

"You named your-"

He never finished his sentence as Typhlosion's Leaf Tornado slammed into him and his Goodra.

"Oh, so that's how you're going to battle? Goodra, Ice Beam!"

"Dodge it!"

Typhlosion weaved around the beam and fired off another Leaf Tornado. The move hit the Goodra and barely did anything.

"Lily, use Victor Dance!"

"Darv, use Dragon Breath!"

Darv flew forward as draconic breath flew from his mouth as Lily rushed towards him.

"Leaf Blade!"

"Leaf Storm!"

I watched as Lilly swung her arms, causing two blades of glowing energy to crash into the Dragon Breath. Darv came flying back as the attack hit him. Goodra and Lily pushed through Typhlosion's Leaf Storm easily.

"Wow, that's all your misnamed snake has? Sludge Wave!"

"Get ready Typhlosion! Dragon Pulse!"

Typhlosion opened his mouth and shot a pulse wave of draconic energy. The move pushed through the oncoming wave and hit the Goodra.

"Darv, Dragon Breath."

"Lily, Poison Jab!"

Darv flipped around the Lilligant and hit the Goodra with Dragon Breath. The combined dragon attacks proved too much and it fainted.

"Damn it! Don't think this is over, I still got two more Pokémon!"

No one's POV

"Sketch, use Shadow Ball!

"Nerium, Shadow Ball!"

"Block them and use X-Scissor!"

Orchid raised her claws and defended herself against the oncoming moves. She sprung forward and swung her claws at Nerium. Who nimbly leaped away.

"Java, Thunderbolt!"

Java surrounded himself in electricity and shot it at Nerium. She couldn't dodge this time and got hit by the attack.

"You think that can stop her? I'll smash your little light bulb apart. And then you can mourn over its little pieces," said Olivia.

"Java, Shadow Ball!"

"Orchid, use Leaf Blade!"

Orchid leapt towards Sketch and sliced at it with Leaf Blade. Before she reached him, Sketch fired another Shadow Ball. She flew back and hit the ground.

"Return Orchid. Go, Gnasher!"

The Gabite appeared from his pokéball and gave a menacing snarl. It went unnoticed as both enemy Pokémon were trying to hit Java with Shadow Ball.

"Gnasher, use Sword Dance! Then use Bulldoze!"

Magical blades spun around Gnasher and boosted his attack. He immediately charged forward, tearing up earth as he rammed into Sketch and Nerium.

"Java, follow up with Shadow Ball!"

Java quickly formed the shadowy lump and fired it at Sketch. Sketch fainted from both attacks while Nerium had already fainted.

"Return Nerium. Go, Mors!"

"A slight inconvenience, I'll immediately end your Pokémon. Proceed, Snox!"

The Malamar and the Sneasler both appeared. Mors raised his extremely long claws as a warning to back down. The warning went unheeded as Gnasher gave a low snarl.

"Snox, Swagger!"

"Mors, Ice Punch!"

Gnasher dodged the Ice Punch but fell for the Swagger. His attack was boosted as he also became confused.

"Gnasher, use Dragon Claw!"

Gnasher charged at Mors and swung a claw at him. Mors leaped back and dodged the attack, unwilling to go head to head with Gnasher.

"Power Swap."

Ellen's eyes went wide as she realized what was happening. Snox became super powerful as he transferred Gnasher's stat boosts to himself.

"Psycho Cut!"

Snox whipped his tentacles and sent psychic blades of energy hurtling at Gnasher and Java. Both were unable to dodge, allowing Snox to easily faint both of them.

Marlow gave an evil laugh. "Looks like you're in quite a predicament here, Oak Agency."

Joyce was walking through a forest, she'd seen Elaine escape towards here. She carefully looked around, trying to spot the professional thief.

"Hello, I know you're somewhere in here. Let's talk about things. Like why it's a bad idea for you to take the Blue Orb."

Joyce kept looking around, she had recalled Candy so she wouldn't seem hostile. Even then Elaine didn't reveal herself. Despite her careful searching, Joyce didn't notice Elaine hiding in the shadows.

Joyce switched tactics, if she couldn't find the person, she would at least attempt to get her message across.

"I know you can probably hear me," said Joyce, her words reflecting the emptiness of the forest. "And I just want to say that what you're doing is most likely a bad idea. You probably know what the blue orb can do. And you obviously know what Gamma Team goals are, genetically changing Pokémon and other things. But what could that mean for the legendary Groudon? Let's say you succeed and you guys subdued Groudon. Imagine all the things you could do to anger it, it could spell doom for everyone."

Elaine wasn't swayed by her words. She lived her life as a thief, and stealing is what she likes to do. Nothing would ever change what she defined herself as.

"Is this really what you want to do? There's always the chance to come clean. Just put the Orb back in the temple or give it to the guardians. And then we can sort out prison sentences and whatnot. Who knows, the first time I did a mission. The person agreed to help in the end and fix things, and he just got many hours of community service. It's never too late."

Elaine almost left her position inside the bush. Joyce's words were very convincing, and almost made her want to turn herself in.

"What a strange Oak Agency member," she said to herself. And then she was off.

"Raptor, dodge it!"

Raptor flew around a column of lightning from Electivire's Thunder.

"Use Close Combat!"

"Xander, use Shadow Claw!"

Raptor dove forward at Kazuma's Electivire. Kazuma's Electivire surrounded himself with electricity and readied to counter attack.

At that moment, Xander rushed forward, his claw glowing with purple energy. Mary the Azumaril intercepted him with a Aqua Jet as Raptor flew over the Electivire. Losing the game of chicken.

"Electivire, Volt Tackle!"

Electivire surrounded himself with electricity and rushed at Xander. Xander opened his mouth and used Hyper Beam. He blasted Electivire across the field as Mary barreled into Xander with Play Rough, fainting him.

"Return Xander. Go, Scout!"

The Elmoga appeared in the air, mid-glide. Xander may have fainted, but the damage was done. Electivire staggered to his feet extremely weakened. Raptor flew in and used Close Combat to finish him off.

"Go, Swampert! Use Rain Dance!"

The Swampert appeared from his pokéball and used Rain Dance. The clouds grew dark as it started to rain. Everything became more obscured as the rained poured down.

"Mary, use Aqua Jet."

Mary dashed forward, cloaked in water. She used the rain as a booster and slammed into Raptor's underside.

"Waterfall!"

"Scout, use Charge Beam!"

Scout tried assisting Raptor, but couldn't see him or glide well in all the rain. Mary eventually came crashing down on a torrent of water with Raptor. She slammed Raptor hard into the ground. Fainting the bird Pokémon.

"Return Raptor. Go, Pio!"

Pio appeared and bounced over to Scout. The two tiny Pokemonn facing their foes together.

"Aw how cute. Two little Pikachu clones are in this together. Unfortunately, they aren't going to reach their full potential and sweep our Pokémon. Swampert, Earthquake," said Kazuma.

As the tremors grew closer. Scout leaped into the air while Pio jumped and hung on to her legs at the last second.

"Mary, Aqua Jet!"

Mary charged forward, her Belly Drum, rain boosted move was going to decimate the two electric Pokémon immediately.

"Pio, Thunderbolt!"

"Scout, Hidden Power!"

Pio leaped into the air and fired the bolt of electricity. Hitting Mary straight on and electrocuting her. Scout glided towards Swapert and fired grassy orbs at him.

"Mirror Coat!"

The Hidden Power attack hit Swampert and did little. He reflected the power back at Scut and sent her tumbling.

"She's not strong enough!"

"Pio, I think we no what we need to do."

Pio, who was going tussling with Jacob's Cinncino, nodded. He fled from the fight and dodged another Earthquake. He then used Thunderbolt, on Scout.

A bright flash erupted through the island as the Thunderbolt powered Scout up. She crackled with electricity as she used Hidden Power. The attack this time eliminating Swampert.

"Oh no, I spoke to soon didn't I?"

Another bright flashed erupted from Scout as she used Discharge. The move instantly fainted and paralyzed Scarfy the Cinncino. The battle was over.

Scott and Juan recalled their Pokémon.

"Looks like you lost. Now we can take you in and while you tell me where my sister is," said Juan, pulling a pair of handcuffs.

"Honestly, I wouldn't run if I were you."

They handcuffed both Jacob and Kazuma behind their backs. They started to pull them along when something flashed in the corner of Juan's eye.

"Captain, get down!"

He tackled Scott to the ground as to missiles streaked past them. Jacob and Kazuma were immediately up and running as a helicopter flew down.

"Damn it! They're getting away!" shouted Scott.

Jacob and Kazuma both leaped into the helicopter. It immediately pulled up and started flying away. Kazuma leaned out of the window.

"That's Henry for ya! Bye bye losers!"

Scott and Juan watched them escape on the helicopter. Juan slammed his fist into the ground!

"Great, we failed. My only chance to get my sister."

"This isn't the last time we've seen the Gamma Team. We'll get her back."

They walked back to the temple in silence. They found Ellen and Victor sound asleep. The result of Malamar's spots on its body. Joyce was there trying to get them onto Candy.

She saw the look on his face and didn't say anything. The helped her set Ellen and Victor onto Candy's back. They started off down the temple.

They saw the family of guardians waiting at the edge of the path. Aurora noted the somber mood hanging over them and shook her head sadly. Cassy realized they failed and looked on the verge of tears. Laura looked ashamed of herself. Cade just stared at the ground. While Pike stared off into the distance.

The Oak Agency members passed them without a word. As they walked the length of the island. Scott requested aerial transport.

He sighed. "I guess that's that."

2 hours later

Juan stood outside on his balcony, the rest of the many Oak Agency apartment rooms below him. It was that time of night, the star hour. When every big light in the city would turn off, allowing people to gaze at the stars.

His pager buzzed from inside his apartment. He trudged off and answered up.

"Juan, would you mind a little chat? You can come down here, it'll be quick." it was Joyce's voice.

"Sure I guess."

Juan opened his door and headed downstairs. He found Joyce waiting in the lobby.

"I heard what happened on the island from Scott. About this Kazuma person and taunting you about your sister."

"Is that what you wanted to talk about? I failed okay, we had an important mission and we failed. I got no closer to getting my sister back, and we didn't even retrieve the Blue Orb. Sometimes, I feel that I don't bring anything to the team. In our previous mission at Washi Dam, I almost got captain killed."

"So you believe that your a failure?"

"Being completely honest, yes. And no matter how hard I try, I end up failing again. I failed to save my sister, and then I failed to get anywhere close to rescuing her again."

"The fact you failed doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not you chose to succeed from your failure."

With that, Joyce got up to leave. She gave Juan a sad smile before turning around.

"Joyce, thank you."

And that is the end of the chapter. Record time right? Posted chapter 5 on Sunday and posted this one on Thursday. I'm super excited for next chapter because I'll get to add a bunch of new characters. Six new characters next chapter (I said five out of six before, but I got a new character. I only accepted him because the person was on a waiting list.)
