At the museum, Nancy enters the door and starts to look around the museum. "So, this is the display that the journal was kept in," said Nancy. Nancy noticed fingerprints on the display glass. "There are fingerprints," said Nancy before she takes a picture of the fingerprints on the glass. "Can I help you with something?" said the museum curator, Derek Dlamini. "Hi, I'm here to investigate the display that had The Book of the Lost Souls in it. There are the thief's fingerprints on the glass, is there anything caught on video?" said Nancy.
"Why, of course. We got security cameras around the museum, I'm sure they recorded the thief that night, I'm Derek, by the way," said Derek. "Nice to meet you, Derek. I'm Nancy Drew," said Nancy. "The detective, right?" asked Derek. "Yep, that's me," said Nancy. "Come on, I'll show what I caught on camera," said Derek. "OK." Said Nancy.
At the security office, Derek shows the security cam on the computer. "There's the thief," said Nancy, pointing at the mysterious masked thief sneaking inside the museum. "You can see that he or she is walking around to look for the journal until the thief sees it," said Derek.
Derek and Nancy see the thief taking the display glass off and taking the journal in the video, the thief places the display back onto the pedestal before running off while the police are on the way when the alarm rings. "So, the thief didn't wear gloves while sneaking into the museum. So, that's why there are fingerprints on the display glass," said Nancy. "Yep," said Derek. "I took a picture of the fingerprints," said Nancy. "Really?" said Derek. "Mm, hmm," said Nancy. "That's very clever of you," said Derek.
After the museum… Nancy leaves and heads back to the Mont Rochelle hotel, she sees Rosaleen in a purple bikini reading a book while lying on one of the lounges.
"There's Rosaleen! I should go to talk to her and act normal or kind. No, I don't know. I'm nervous, but we talked once when she ran into me. Nancy, you can do this. Just calm down and talk to Rosaleen, don't be weird or anything. Just be yourself, be normal, and be kind. No weirdness, talk to her about the case. Ask her if she's married, too." said Nancy, in her thoughts.
Nancy goes outside to talk to Rosaleen who is reading a book called "Flowers in the Attic" by V.C Andrews, Nancy takes a deep breath. "Hey, Rose," said Nancy. "Hey, Nancy," said Rosaleen. "I have something to ask you… Are you sure that one of the tenth shooting victims was your sister Julie?" said Nancy. "Yes, why?" said Rosaleen. "I have discovered the thief's fingerprints at the museum, the thief stole the journal 2 nights ago and Derek showed me the footage of the thief," said Nancy. "Really?" asked Rosaleen. "Yeah… Um, are you married to someone else?" said Nancy. "I was married, but I'm a widow. My husband -my son's father- was murdered 5 months ago," said Rosaleen. "Gosh, I'm so sorry," said Nancy. "Thanks," said Rosaleen.
"So, she's a widow. I know I'm interested in men, but she's so gorgeous. I mean, look at her. Inside out, she's all magnificent." said Nancy, in her thoughts. "Well… I'm doing as best as I can to find the missing journal. So, would you like to have some hot cocoa with me later?" said Nancy. "Well, of course, I will. My son loves hot cocoa, so why not? Yes." Said Rosaleen.
