DAWN OF A LEGEND
Hey there! I am back! It's good to be back! I would have returned earlier, if not for my health issues and the exams. The last few months have been rough for both me and my family. Writing took a backseat during those times. But, now that I am back on my feet, I can continue with the story. I do hope that the chapters from here on out would be regular. I may not be updating every week, since I have my college, I also need to work on my other two stories, so yeah, I need to time to update. Though, this time it would be as fast as I can possibly do.
Another thing, is thank you for the good reviews, I ask all my readers to review this chapter, since it helps to understand where I can and need to improve. Well that's enough yapping! Let's dive into the chapter, shall we?
I don't own Pokémon!
"Go Pokémon!"- Normal speech for both Human and Pokémon

SINNOH ROUTE 202
Sinnoh region, a region famous for it's rich variety of Pokémon. Located north of the Kanto/Johto landmasses, the region is temperate and mountainous. It's a island region with seas on all the sides. It is also known for the four lakes, each of which houses a legendary pokemon: Lake Acuity houses Uxie, Lake Valor houses Azelf, Lake Verity houses Mesprit and the secret Sendoff Spring houses Giratina inside Turnback Cave.
Sinnoh is also famous amongst many for its myths and legends. According to several Sinnoh myths, this region was the first of all the regions in the Pokémon world to have been created. In a void of nothingness, a single Egg came into being, which then hatched into Arceus, the first Pokémon to be in existence. Arceus created Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, then gave them the abilities to control time, space, and anti-matter respectively. Giratina was banished to another dimension for its violent behavior. Then, during the very early formation of the world, Arceus created Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit to create willpower, knowledge, and emotion respectively, things that are in all modern humans and Pokémon. They dove to the bottom of present-day Lake Valor, Lake Acuity, and Lake Verity, an act which earned them the name "The Lake Trio". At that point, Arceus created the Sinnoh region and Mt. Coronet divided the region into two sections. During this violent procedure, Stark Mountain was created and Heatran was formed in lava. Arceus finally created the Adamant, Lustrous, and Griseous Orbs before falling into a never-ending sleep at the Hall of Origin.
Now we see, Ash Ketchum of Pallet town walking through the roads towards Sandgem Town. He wanted to visit Professor Rowan's lab. He had a document to give him, that Professor Oak had given him. He also needed to hand him a letter from his mother Delia for some of the species of Pokemon to be transferred from here to their Ranch.
You see, Delia Ketchum had gotten a Breeder's Certificate from the Pokemon league. Despite of being well off by her restraunts, she decided to follow one of her interests during her trainee days. She always loved Pokemon breeding. So, after Ash had started studying under them, she also rehearsed her knowledge on breeding and Pokemon care.
As of two years ago, she is a certified Breeder and Pokemon Doctor. She decided to open a ranch where she would not only do her breeding job, she will also be able to protect and preserve some of the rare Pokémon species.
Professor Oak even put forth Delia's name in good picture, saying that she was alone enough to protect those pokemons. The league was a little skeptical at first, but Professor Oak reassured them that he himself would place some of his Pokemon in the Ranch for protection.
That eased up the League, since everyone knew the caliber of Professor Oak as a trainer. But, even then they sent some people to "test" Ash's mom. What was surprising was that two of the elite four Bruno and Agatha were there in the party that came to test her.
Ash still remembers the conversation since he was there that day.
FLASHBACK
It was bright summer day in Pallet town, the sun was shining brightly in the sky. There was gentle breeze blowing through the region, making the weather a little comfortable. The day was slow placed for most of the town, well except perhaps the Ketchum Residence.
"Ash! Get ready! The League officials would arrive within half an hour!" exclaimed Delia from the kitchen.
"Yes mom!" was the reply that came from room upstairs.
Recently Delia had attained her Mastery in Pokemon care and Breeding, finally fulfilling her wish from her younger years. She had opted to open a ranch near Pallet Town, where she would set up her breeding business. She had also decided that she would be opening a preserve of sort in the ranch where she would be able to preserve certain rare and endangered species of Pokemon.
She had put forth her application to the League through Professor Oak, who had supported her initiative wholeheartedly. He had put forth her name saying that she was more than enough to fend of any and all poachers.
The League were skeptical on the last bit, but further assurance from Oak and a word that he himself would place a few of his Pokemons was what let them to agree to sanction the preserve on the condition that they would be sending officials to examine the land and Delia herself. Delia had agreed to the condition immediately.
So, today they would be coming to examine her and her land for the preserve. Ash came running down the stairs excited, his Metang whom he let free in the house was following him as always.
"Mom, when are we meeting with the officials?"
"Just after the breakfast sweety, we will meet them at Professors lab. Now hurry up and eat, we need to leave very soon" Delia said warmly. Ash had been improving in leaps and bounds in his studies and training, the fact which made both Oak and Delia very happy and proud of the boy.
After finishing up with the breakfast in record time, Ash was outside waiting for his mom to come out. He was excited because he would for the first time see his mom fighting a Pokemon battle seriously. Soon, Delia came out wearing a Purple long skirt and navy-blue shirt, she had a bag hanging from her shoulders. After locking the door, they hit the road to Oak's lab.
Within ten minutes they had reached the Lab's gate.
"Now Ashy I need you to be on your best behavior, ok? They will be very important people inside" said Delia softly with a hint of sternness in her voice.
"Ok mom" Ash replied. He had no intention to harm his mom's chances today. He looked towards Metang to convey his order to remain silent and not to cause any trouble. Metang responded by humming and nodding his head. He had left Gible back at home since he would be a mess to control.
As they ascended the steps towards the lab they saw a helicopter with league symbol on it already there parked in the gardens. Seeing that they quickened their pace. After reaching the door, Delia pressed the bell. Soon Professor Oak opened the door. Seeing them he smiled a warm smile.
"Ah, Delia and Ash it's good to see you. The officials have just arrived. I was going to make a call to you, but it seems you both are on time as always" he chuckled at the end.
Both of them followed Professor Oak into the drawing room. They were greeted with the presence of not one but two Elite fours. Ash gaped at the sight of Bruno and Agatha, he couldn't believe that he was seeing them. They were also accompanied by four other trainers; from their uniforms they were ACE Trainers.
Upon seeing them entering, both Elites stood up and made their way towards them. Agatha upon seeing Delia became surprised, her eyes widened a little but she quickly schooled her features. But even then you could see a small smile tugging her face.
Bruno, along with the others on the other hand were gawking at Metang beside Ash's side.
"Holy! Is that shiny Metang?!" one of the ACE trainers exclaimed. They all converged near the Pokemon examining it from all sides. But before they could say something, Agatha spoke bringing the conversation on the topic they all came to Pallet for.
"Well, it would seem that your word that she can protect the preserve on her own was not unfounded Professor. I approve if she is the one who is opening the ranch" Agatha said looking towards Delia.
Bruno and the other ACE trainers were gob smacked at that, hell even Ash was surprised that Agatha of the Elite four would just say that.
"What are you saying Agatha?! We haven't even tested her and you gave her the green light!" Bruno exclaimed. The ACE Trainers were muttering in accordance to Bruno's word.
Agatha just smiled, which again shocked others since Agatha never smiled, and said, "Well you don't see what I see Bruno. She is quite capable, aren't you Princess" the last part she addressed towards Delia.
Delia, along with Professor and Ash were surprised that Agatha knew about her secret. But before Delia or Professor could say something, Bruno interjected,
"Princess?! What Princess? What are you talking about?" he asked looking between Delia and Agatha.
"Well, you have all heard about her, she just went by another name. After winning not only 2 League conferences, the Master League and the Battle Frontier she disappeared. Not to forget she also won all the Clubsplosian Tournaments in Unova. She is still considered one of the most powerful trainers of all time" Agatha replied still not looking away from Delia, but then she turned towards Ash and continued, "Well now we know why she disappeared eh. You settled down Princess"
Bruno and the other ACE trainers were thinking furiously, trying to remember whom Agatha was talking about. Then one of the ACE trainers looked towards Delia and exclaimed, "YOU ARE ROSE?! THE DRAGON PRINCESS?!"
Upon hearing his Bruno and the rest of them looked towards Delia and gaped at her. Delia on the other hand sighed knowing that her secret was out now. Agatha had a small smirk on her face. Ash and Professor didn't know what to do exactly at that moment.
Getting his bearings back, Bruno stood in front of Delia and said, "Well it's an honor meeting you Madam, I know now why Agatha gave the green light for the ranch so early. But, still I need to see that if you still hold the same strength and power that you are rumored to have. I need to make a report to Lance and President"
"And just how do you want to see that?" asked Delia, raising her eyebrows at Bruno. His reply was to smirk and held out two Pokeballs and said, "Well how about 2 on 2 battle sound"
Delia thought about that and nodded her head in agreement. The entire contingent moved outside in the open field. Delia and Bruno went to either side of the field, whereas Professor Oak stood in the center ready to referee the match. All the others were standing on the side, there were excited muttering about the battle, over how they were going to see Bruno face the Famous Dragon Princess.
"Come on out Machamp!" Bruno exclaimed tossing the ball in the air. Soon came out a bluish gray humanoid Pokemon with four well-muscled arms. It was one of Bruno's most powerful Pokemons. Delia took out a pokeball from her bag and tossed in the air, "Haxorus I need your help" she said gracefully.
Out came a bipedal Pokemon with dark, yellow-green covering on its back and most of the front. It had black skin covering its torso, tail tip, and thighs, as well as red talons and claws. Its large tusks, which resemble scythes, are black and edged in red, and are located on its upper jaw on the side of its mouth. His red eyes glowed with unrestrained power.
Ash was looking with awe at the strong Pokemon his mom was commanding. Others were also looking at the pokemon with awe. Agatha quietly said to Ash, "Watch closely, you will learn a lot of things." Ash nodded at her advice and prepared himself to watch closely. Metang was floating beside him, prepared to save its trainer from any errant attacks.
"Both Trainers ready?" Professor asked. Delia and Bruno both nodded, seeing that he declared, "Then Begin!"
"Machamp use Rock slide!" Bruno gave out the first command
Machamp stomped on the ground and soon large boulders were hurled at Haxorus
Delia calmly replied, "Haxorus us Dragon Claw and fend of the attacks"
Haxorus's claws glowed and soon he was cutting through the incoming boulders with relative ease.
"Machamp move in and use Ice punch full power" Bruno said.
Machamp moved with a speed far superior than anything Ash had seen. His hands were covered in ice and was going to land a lethal blow to Haxorus.
"Haxorus don't dodge and let it hit" Delia said smiling softly. Haxorus listened to her and stood there without defending himself.
"What?!" exclaimed one of the trainers on the side. Even Bruno seemed to be shocked. Before anyone could say anything Machamp landed a devastating ice punch on Haxorus. Any other pokemon would be down with that single punch.
"What..." whispered one of the trainers beside Ash. Ash himself couldn't believe. His mother's Haxorus was standing there as if nothing has happened, even after taking the full brunt of the attack. Everyone was silent. The silence was broken by the serene voice of Delia,
"I have trained all my Dragon Pokemon to overcome their weakness, so any and all types of attack be it even ice wouldn't cause much damage. Now let's finish this, Haxorus he is pretty close finish it off with a Hyper Beam"
Haxorus gathered energy in his mouth and then released it with tremendous power. The entire process was so fast that Machamp didn't have the time to move. The attack hit soundly as Machamp landed crashed into the field knocked out.
"No way" Ash whispered; he couldn't believe that his mom's pokemon just took out one of Bruno's strongest with relative ease. By the looks of it others couldn't believe either. Only Professor and Agatha seemed to be calm.
Bruno came out of his shock and picked up Machamp's pokeball, pointing towards his downed companion he called him back. Machamp soon was sucked into his pokeball.
"That was something, it seems that the tales of your strength is not unfounded. But the next one will be not so easy" Bruno said as he replaced machamps pokeball with another and tossed it in the air, "Steelix come on out!"
Out came a long, serpentine Pokémon with a silvery-gray body made up of rock-like sections. It was towering over Haxorus, who didn't seem impressed and intimidated by the behemoth. Ash looked towards his mom and saw that she was still calm and composed.
"Steelix start with Dragon Breath!"
"Meet it with Dragon Breath of yours Haxorus!"
Both Dragon Breath attack collided in the middle, but as soon as they collided Haxorus's attack overpowered Steelix's. The attack went on to hit Steelix who fell down after getting hit.
"Steelix! Hang in there!"
"Finish it with Draco Meteor" Delia said.
Haxorus hurled a ball of energy in the sky which soon came down as a small cataclysm of short. There was dust everywhere. Soon it cleared and all saw a knocked out steelix in the middle of the field with Haxorus standing beside it victorious and unharmed.
"Impossible..." muttered Bruno. He closed his eyes after the devastating loss. Slowly he picked up his pokeball and called back steelix. As he turned towards Delia he saw that she was making her way towards him. Upon reaching him she extended her hand for a handshake. Bruno graciously accepted the hand.
"It was a marvelous show madam, I hope next time I will be able to offer a serious challenge. I need to up my training after this" said Bruno. Delia just thanked him and smiled.
But as soon as she turned towards the audience she was tackled into a hug by her son. She smiled and hugged him back.
"That was awesome mom! You were great! Can you teach me all those moves?!" Ash exclaimed.
Delia chuckled and looked towards her son lovingly, "Thank you sweety, and I will teach you in time ok?" she again giggled when she saw Ash pout a little on the later part of her statement.
"It seems that you still are the same Princess" Agatha said from her spot. Others were offering her congrats. Delia thanked them all happily.
"Now, I believe that you can see why I told that she alone will be enough to protect the ranch. Now, all there is to inspect the land. But before that lets go inside have some tea, shall we" Professor Oak said smiling.
FLASHBACK END
After inspecting the land, which all of them were quite satisfied with, they returned to the headquarters to deliver their report.
Safe to say that Delia's request was processed and approved the very next day. But another problem rose was that now the Elite Four and Champion Lance knew of his mother's true identity thanks to Agatha.
That culminated in the fact that Champion Lance came to Pallet in search of Delia to challenge her. He always wanted to fight the Dragon Princess, and wasn't going to back down. After much persuasion, Delia accepted a one-on-one match. Lance with his strongest Dragonite and Delia with her Salamence.
The fight didn't last that long, since Salamence quickly overpowered Lance's Dragonite and defeated him. Ash that day gained another dream. To be a trainer as great as his mother if not greater. Seeing her defeating Lance really hit Ash home. Lance gracefully admitted defeat but promised that he would train harder and come back to challenge her.
After all that fiasco, the league approved Ranch was opened and many rare pokemon were bought in the ranch for breeding and preservation. Over the last two years there are over thirty different species of Pokemon being raised on the ranch, which included two of the Kanto starters, except the Charmander line.
They had paid a huge sum for building the necessary structure required for such a place. They had bought a huge piece of land at the outer edges of Pallet town. The area is huge containing a big lake and a hill area on the north west side, mainly for the rock pokemons. The entire area is covered in dense forests and large fields that makes it a comfortable stay for the Pokemons.
The entire thing needs about thirty workers for it to work efficiently. It is the third largest preserve in Kanto after the Safari Zone and Professor Oak's Corral. Though unlike the other two, it is not that famous among trainers since the Pokémon residing there cannot be caught like that of the Safari zone. The league mainly pays for the workers there since they think that it was a kind of establishment that was needed.
The Ketchum's in spite of their restraunt chain all across Kanto, that earns them a lot, now make a huge sum of money due to Pokemon breeding. Delia's techniques result in some of the healthiest of specimens that are possible, so naturally Professors and Rangers and other well-off people buy a lot of Pokemon from here. Her healing facility inside the ranch is top notch that resulted in Pokemon being sent here for treatment from the league. The league pays a considerable sum for those treatments.
Though not all Pokemon species in the Ranch are up for adoption. Out of the thirty species, only twenty odd species are always up for adoption. The rarer species are only there for preservation purpose.
Bottom of the story, they Delia Ketchum is a famous name among the Rangers and Pokemon ACE trainers and Professors from Kanto, Johto and Orange Islands.
Ash was at first skeptical on whether or not a professor from different region would give consent to his mother's plans. But, he was pleasantly surprised that Professor Birch himself has reached out to Professor Oak regarding some transference of rare Pokemon species from Hoenn to the Ranch.
As Ash was walking through the Jungle towards the Sandgem town, he heard a sound coming towards him. From the nature of the sound, it seemed that there was a Pokemon battle going on. Quickly making his way towards the noise, he came across a clearing.
In the clearing he could see two boys one of them was taller than the other. The taller one, had brown hair. He was wearing purple t-shirt with pink sleeves. He was wearing gray trousers with blue snickers. He had two white wristbands on both hands. In front of him was a strong looking Houndoom.
On the other side of the field, he could see he had purple hair. He was about the same height as Ash, but still a little shorter. He was wearing a blue undershirt, with a purple zip-up jacket on top. He was wearing navy blue trousers and blue snickers. In front of him was a Sneasel.
"Houndoom use Dark Pulse again!" said the brown-haired Trainer.
"Sneasel use Shadow Ball to stop" said the Purple haired one.
The Dark pulse fired by the Houndoom was met by the Shadow ball thrown by the Sneasal. Both the attacks hit each other, but the Houndoom was more powerful, since very soon his Dark Pulse over powered the Shadow ball. The Shadow ball was neutralized through a small blast. The area was covered by dust cloud.
"Houdoom use your sense of smell to find Sneasel and then use Extremespeed!" said the brown haired boy.
The Houndoom quickly did as it was told, as he closed his eyes focusing on his sense of smell. Very soon he opened his eyes and disappeared with frightening speed into the dust cloud. Very soon the dust cloud dispersed and one could see the Houndoom standing victoriously over the fallen sneasel.
The Purple haired boy frowned and called back his Sneasel. He then walked forward towards the other boy who was congratulating his Houndoom. As they talked it was at this moment Ash decided to make his presence known.
"That was great battle you two" he said coming out of the clearing.
Both the boys were surprised to see him, if the look on their face was anything to go by. Although, soon the brown haired boy smiled towards Ash and said, "Thanks for the complement. But all the credit goes to Houndoom here" he said pointing towards his dark type.
"Do not sell yourself short, you are a good trainer. By the way, my name is Ash Ketchum from pallet Town in Kanto" said Ash extending his hand towards the brown haired boy, who shook his hand. Then reciprocating the same towards the purple haired one, who didn't even have the decency to shake hands. Ash frowned at the behaviour, it reminded him of Gary.
"The name's Harrison Miller, I am from Litterloot Town in Hoenn" said the Brown haired Boy. Ash nodded his head towards Harrison, then looked towards the purple haired one.
"Paul, form Vielstone City" said the purple haired one.
"So, you are a trainer?" asked Harrison
"Yeah, I just started on my journey three days ago" said Ash. Harrison nodded his head but then he asked,
"But, then what are you doing here all the way to Sinnoh?"
"Well you see I wanted to start my Journey from Sinnoh. So I came here, since I wanted to challenge the strongest league" said Ash. Harrison nodded his head in understanding, but Paul on the other hand scoffed at Ash.
Ash didn't like that and calmly asked, "Is there a problem with you?"
"Yes, is almost funny that you think that you can pose even a challenge. You are just a kid who wants to play trainer. Tell me how many Pokemon due to have?" asked Paul.
"Four" said Ash, as he decided to ignore his growing fury at Paul for putting him down.
"See what I meant. You already caught four Pokemon in three days. Have you been throwing your Pokemon at everything that moves?" said Paul.
Ash gritted his teeth, trying very hard not to give in to Paul's words. Seeing the growing tensions, Harrison decided to play the mediator, "Now, let's not start a fight here" he said trying to placate both the trainers.
"Hmph, it's pathetic anyways to talk to him anyway, Miller next time I am going to win" said Paul.
"You know you got quite the mouth there, why don't you show this rookie how to be a trainer?" said Ash.
Paul turned around with an arrogant smirk, "With pleasure, you kids nowadays need to know your place" he said.
Ash looked towards Harisson, "Would you mind referring our match?" he asked.
Seeing no other option, and his curiosity of how this turns out, Harrison took his place as the referee, "This is a Match between Ash Ketchum of Pallet town and Paul from Veilstone City. It will be one-on-one battle. Both trainers ready?" he asked.
Paul took out a pokeball and tossed it, out came a brown bear like pokemon with a yellow circle in the middle of his stomach. It was a Urasiring.
"Urasiring eh? All right then" Ash plucked on of the pokeball and tossed it. Out came his shiny Metang. Seeing his pokemon both Harrison and Paul were shocked to silence. Their minds were still processing the fact that in front of them was not only a Pokemon which was one of the rarest, but this particular specimen was even rare in the already rare species.
"Where in the world did you get a Metang?! And a shiny one at that!" asked Harrison
"Metang here was my first pokemon. It has been with me for more than six years now. We are the best of partners" said Ash, smiling while looking towards Matang, who from the appearance of it was giving a pleasant hum.
Both Harrison and Paul were clearly shocked to hear that Ash had had a pseudo-Legendary Pokemon for so long.
"My, then that means he must be strong" said Harrison looking towards Metang with a calculating gaze.
"Yeah! He is my best in terms of Versatility," said Ash.
"Enough talk! Now let's get on with the match!" said Paul, by his voice it was clear he was annoyed.
"Very well, both trainers ready? …... Then Begin!" said Harrison
"Urasiring Hyper Beam!" said Paul.
Urasiring gathered energy in his mouth and fired a high intensity energy beam towards Metang.
"Use Light Screen!" Ash snapped back. A wall of light appeared in front of Metang blocking the Hyper Beam. Paul widened his eyes seeing that his powerful attack was stopped.
"Now use Psychic and stop Urasiring from moving, then finish it off with Flash Cannon!" said Ash.
"What?!" shouted both Paul and Harrison. Combining two attacks wasn't unheard, but they couldn't believe that Ash could do it, being a rookie trainer. Their doubts were shattered when Ash's Metang used Psychic and held Urasiring in it's place, and then proceeded to fire Flash Cannon towards him. That resulted in an explosion. Once the dust settled, they could see Urasiring lying on the ground knocked out and Metang Hovering over it. Looking unharmed and without any sort of tiredness. Harrison, coming out of his shock and said,
"Urasiring is unable to battle, Metang wins. Then that means that Ash Ketchum is the winner of this match"
Ash smiled happily as he went by Metang's side and patted his metallic head, "Well done Metang! You did wonderful in the match" said Ash. Metang let out an appreciating hum. Ash then turned towards Paul who was returning his Pokemon.
"I will deal with you later" Paul muttered, but both Ash and Harrison heard it. That didn't sit right with both of them.
"Hey! At least you could have complimented him!" said Ash
"Hm, he lost to a Metang, who by the way was trained by a rookie, he is pathetic" said Paul condescendingly.
"Oh, I don't think it his fault that his own trainer is not competent" replied Ash, as he glared at Paul heatedly.
Before Paul could say something, Harrison intervened, "Now, let's not start fighting again" although Harrison was also not supporting Paul's behavior.
"Hm! I don't care what you both think" said Paul, as he turned around and started walking away.
"Geez, what a great guy isn't he?" said Ash sarcastically.
Harrison snorted at Ash's comment, "Yeah, but enough thinking about him and ruining our mood. So, where are you heading?" he asked looking towards Ash.
"Oh, I am heading towards Sandgem Town to meet Professor Rowan, I have a delivery for him form Professor Oak" said Ash.
"Ah, I see. But can you tell me where did you get a shiny Metang of all things?" asked Harriosn, his eyes showing his curiosity over the subject.
"Well, I helped in rescuing Metang from two poachers six years ago. After that other Pokemons were returned to their preserve, but Metang chose to stay with me. We became the best of friends and partners" said Ash reminiscing about those times.
"Wow! That's a nice back story! But I can tell it is strong. A lot stronger than any other Metang I have seen or heard about" said Harrison, respect clear in his voice for Ash and his Metang.
"Thanks! It means a lot, we both have worked really hard to reach the position we are in now" said Ash.
"Yeah, but why hasn't it evolved? I mean with how strong it is, it should have evolved a long time ago" said Harrison.
"Ah, well all he needs is a strong opponent that can give him a challenge and then he would evolve from being pushed to his limits" said Ash. He had learned these facts from the book he received from Derick Stone all those years ago. Ash had nearly memorized the entire thing so that he could raise Metang properly.
"I see, so all it needs is a challenge? That won't be problem since you would find a lot of strong trainers along the route" said Harrison.
"Yeah, I will also like to fight you in a match" said Ash looking towards Harrison, with a challenging expression.
"May be why not? But I will have to postpone it for some another time, since I need to rest my pokemon a bit. I hope you understand" said Harrison.
"No problem, but I will hold you on that. Some other time then" said Ash.
"Thanks, you got a Xtranciever?" asked Harrison, to which Ash nodded. Harrison then took out a piece of paper from his bag pack and wrote down a number and handed it to Ash, "That's my number, call me when you want a challenge" said Harrison.
"I will take you up on that offer" said Ash.
"Well Ash, stay in touch, see you later" said Harrison.
"Later" said Ash as Harrison left the clearing much like Paul.
"Well lets head out, got to meet Professor Rowan" said Ash to himself as he too left the clearing continuing his trek towards Sandgem town.
FEW HOURS LATER
Ash had finally reached Sandgem town, it wasn't that big journey from the city where he landed but it still took him half a day to finally reach it.
It was sandy town beside the sea. It had beach. Professor Rowan's lab is located in this town. It is the only attraction for trainers who visit this town.
Lake Verity is just a day's journey from here. Ash wanted to visit the lake, not only to see one of the lakes mentioned in the myths of Sinnoh, but also hoping to catch a water Pokemon in the lake. The lake was said to be a place for a wide range of Water Pokemon, and who knows maybe he would be lucky and get a glimpse of Mesprit there.
But, before that Ash needed to visit Professor Rowan and sought out the business.
After traversing through the town, he reached the Professor's lab. He had to ask for direction from one of the locals, who was very welcoming of him. After getting directions from him, it took Ash nearly ten minutes to reach the gates of the lab.
Ash went up to the entrance and ringed the bell. After a few moments a young woman, who seemed to be in her early twenties answered the door. She looked towards Ash curiously and asked, "Can I help you with something?"
"Ah, you see I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town in Kanto, I have come here to deliver some papers to Professor Rowan from Professor Oak" said Ash politely.
"Oh, Professor in the lab, why don't you come in" she said moving aside so as to let Ash enter.
"Thanks" said Ash, as he entered the building.
"No problem, by the way my name is Alice, it's nice to meet you" she said sweetly.
"Nice to meet you to Alice" said Ash smiling at her.
Alice accompanied Ash into the main Lab, where Professor Rowan was working on something along with another young guy, who also looked in his twenties.
"Professor, this young man here is Ash, He has bought some papers for you from Professor Oak from Kanto" said Alice.
Professor Rowan was tall man, much like Professor Oak he also wore a white coat over his blue coat. He had a big moustache. He had a serious expression on his face. In spite of the serious expression on his face, he excluded a gentle aura around him.
"Hello there young man, Professor Oak told me you would be arriving by tomorrow, you're a day earlier than expected. I am Professor Rowan, as you might have already known" he said in a friendly tone.
Ash bowed politely in front of the Professor, "It's nice to meet you Professor, I am Ash Ketchum" he said respectfully.
"Ash, I have heard that name from Oak a lot of times, it seems he thinks quite highly of you" said Professor Rowan. Ash just smiles and nods his head in happiness. He was happy that Professor Oak spoke about him to other Professors.
"He also told me about one of the Pokemon you hold, might quell this old man's curiosity by showing me your Metang?" Professor asked hopefully.
Ash sweat dropped at that, figures... Professor Oak would babble about that. He sighed and picked out Metang's pokeball and tossed in the air, "Metang come on out!"
Out came Metang in all his glory. The Professor and his assistants were awed at the sight of the pseudo legendary Pokemon, a shiny one at that.
"Magnificent! You have clearly taken good care of the Pokemon Ash" praised Professor Rowan, as he continued to examine Metang. Even his assistants were gathering as much information as possible, by clicking pictures and taking notes or whatever.
After sometime all three of them calmed downed. Ash took this opportunity to hand over the papers given to him by Professor Oak to Professor Rowan. He also decided to hand his mother's letter to Professor Rowan as well.
Professor Rowan was confused at first when he was handed the second letter, "And what is this letter about Ash?" he asked.
"That letter is from my mother Delia Ketchum" Ash said.
"And this letter is about?" Professor Rowan prodded for more.
"Nothing, just asking for permission to take some Sinnoh Pokemon species to our Ranch both for breeding and preserving purposes," said Ash.
Professor Rowan's eyes widened a little, he quickly opened the envelop and took out the letter and breezed through his contents. He looked towards Ash in wonderment as he finished the letter.
"Do you have any means to contact your mother. I would like to have a talk with her regarding this. I have heard about her from Agatha and Oak, both who speak highly of her. I have to talk to her personally and finalize the conditions" said Professor Rowan.
"Sure Professor" said Ash as he took out a card from his back pack and handed it to Professor Rowan, "This is my mother's card. On it you will find three numbers through which you can contact her" said Ash.
"I see, thank you, I will talk to her in the earliest convenience. Now what do you plan to do from now on?" said Professor Rowan.
"I plan to visit Lake Verity from here. I'll bunk in the Pokemon Centre tonight. Tomorrow morning I will be leaving for Lake Verity. From there I will be going to Jubilife City to register myself for Lily of the Valley Conference this time" said Ash
"Hmm, I see that is a well thought plan. But, I can ease that a little since I can register you for the Lily of the Valley Conference directly from here, then you wouldn't have to spend more time in Jubilife than required" said Professor Rowan.
"Thanks Professor! It will surely be helpful!" said Ash happily.
"Hand me your Pokedex then" said Professor Rowan, to which Ash complied without any complaints. Professor Rowan proceeded towards the large computer and inserted Ash's Pokedex into it. He then started typing on the keyboard once Ash's picture had popped up on the screen. After few minutes of completing the process, Professor returned Ash's Pokedex.
"You are now registered for the Sinnoh league Ash, I wish best of luck to you" said Professor Rowan.
"Thanks Professor" said Ash.
After that Ash said his goodbyes to Professor and his assistants and left the lab. After checking in, in the Pokemon center Ash quickly went to bed. He was tired from today's journey and wanted to rest. He would head out for Lake Verity tomorrow.
NEXT DAY
It was bright sunny day in Sinnoh, the weather was neither too hot nor too cold. The trees and roads were still a little wet from last night's rain.
Ash was on the road towards Lake Verity. He had woken up early in the morning and made his way towards Pokemon Center front desk. After asking Nurse Joy for healing and checking his Pokemons, Ash had gone to the cafeteria to get some breakfast.
After breakfast, he collected his Pokemon from the reception and hit the road. At this moment he was walking through the forest with his Growlithe and Eevee by his side. He had decided to keep them out of their Pokeball, so that he could bond with them as well. Other than that, he had to start their training very soon.
Both Growlithe and Eevee were at this moment on equal level. They knew moves but that doesn't mean that they were mastered. Far from it. Both of them needed to master their moves and gain battling experience. But for the later he needed them to fight rookie trainers that have just started on their journey much like him. He couldn't pit those two against tougher oppositions just yet.
After walking for another few hours and battling few starlys and bidoofs, they reached a clearing. Ash decided that this was the best place for lunch and settled down to prepare lunch for them.
"Gabite! Metang come on out!" Ash said as he tossed his two Pokeballs. In a white flash, the two Pokemon materialized in front of them. They let out their own greeting, Gabite in the form of a roar and Metang humming a bit.
"Hey there you two it's time for lunch, why don't you both relax with the others outside a little. Let me set up the cans and then we can continue" Ash said to his two Pokemons. Both of them nodded their head and went to relax a little along with both Growlithe and Eevee.
As Ash was busy preparing lunch, he didn't see a pair of black eyes looking at him, or more specifically at their lunch. Ash turned around to get some ingredients that his mom packed up for Pokemon. He went up to his bag and picked them up. Once he turned, he saw that the cans are missing.
"Huh! Where did the food go!" he shouted. His Pokemons also heard that and noticed that the cans that Ash was preparing for them were missing. They quickly went about looking for their food, they were all hungry after all.
"Damn!" Ash said, as he turned towards where his bag was, but also noticed that it was gone. "What! Now my bag is gone! All our amenities and foods are gone!" he exclaimed. The others soon followed into anger and panic and chaos ensued.
"Enough!" having enough of the chaos his partners were making, Ash decided to get some form of control and calm back in them. Soon everyone quietened down. "Now, panicking will not help, let's go about the nearby forest and search for the items. The one who has stolen it is not far from here so lets go!" said Ash. Immediately all of his Pokemons separated and went different ways in search for the thief. Eevee stuck by Ash's side following him into the woods.
In another part of the forest, our mystery thief placed his gains on the floor. He had just got a handful of eatable items for himself. If one looked properly, he would recognize him as the electric type Pokemon, Elekid.
"Ralts!"
The Elekid turned around and saw his friend Ralts there standing with a bag. He recognized the bag being of the human from whom he had stolen the foods.
"Elekid" he muttered pointing towards the food cans, as if telling ralts that he had also bought something useful. The ralts cooed as if happy with the things they have taken from the human trainer. Both of them were preparing to devour the food that they had stolen when they were interrupted by a huge roar.
They looked up and saw a pair of Nidoking and Nidoqueen standing there eyeing their food. The Nidoking grunted as if asking them to hand over the food to them. The Nidoqueen also glared at the two small Pokemon trying to intimidate them. But, both Ralts and Elekid weren't intimidated by them. They both stood up and faced them, putting themselves between the food and the Poison duo.
The Nidoking smirked and raced towards them. Seeing the mammoth approaching Elekid let out a thundershock attack on it. The Nidoking took it head on without being affected by it that much and tackled the Elekid. Elekid was sent flying into the tree crashing against it. After it fell to the ground, it tried to get up but failed.
Ralts was preparing to go and help her friend when the feeling Pokemon sensed malice coming from the Nidoqueen. It turned its head towards her direction and saw that she was charging a Hyper Beam attack towards him. She had very little time to react as the mammoth fired the Hyper Beam towards him. Ralts somehow managed to move out of the way of a direct hit, but the blast from the attack hit her and sent her to the ground.
The Nidoking moved and stood side by side with the Nidoqueen, looking towards the fallen Pokemon in glee. They both looked at each other and nodded, they then looked towards the fallen Pokemon who were injured and charged another Hyper Beam each. Ralts and Elekid were both afraid of the next attack since they were helpless. Soon both the Poison Pokemon fired the Hyper Beam towards them.
"Gabite Dragonbreath! Metang Flash Cannon!"
A voice filled the clearing as both the Hyper Beams were neutralized by the Dragon Breath and Flash Cannon attack. All the four Pokemon looked towards the direction of the sound and saw Ash standing there with Gabite and Metang on his sides. Growlithe and Eevee taking the rear end of their party. Ralts and Elekid were surprised that the Human they had stolen from came to help them.
"Metang take on the Nidoking and Gabite take on the Nidoqueen. Growlithe and Eevee protect those two" commanded Ash.
All four Pokemon did as they were told. Metang placed himself in front of Nidoking and Gabite faced the Nidoqueen. Growlithe and Eevee helped the two injured Pokemon to stand. Ash looked towards the Poison duo and narrowed his eyes.
"Metang use Psychic to hold Nidoking and throw backwords and then use Flash Cannon! Gabite use Take Down on the Nidoqueen!"
Metang did as it was told and used Psychic to hold Nidoking and throw it backwards then fired the Flash Cannon. The resulting blast knocked Nidoking out. As Nidoqueen was distracted on seeing her mate's condition, Gabite used Take Down on her and knocked her out as well.
"Well done both of you. Now lets head back, those two are not much injured and will be fine after they wake up, but we have to treat Ralts and Elekid" said Ash. He sighed a little thinking how weak both the mammoth were. It was clear that they had just evolved and didn't know how to control their body yet. He watched as Metang hovered over to him. Gabite came up to him and stood by his side. He looked towards Ash for some affection, which Ash was happy to oblige by rubbing his head. He received a purr of content from Gabite in return. He also proceeded to pat Metang on his round head.
He then headed towards Growlithe and Eevee, who were supporting both Ralts and Elekid to stand. Ash looked towards the side and spotted his bag and all the food cans that he and his Pokemons have been searching for. He picked up his bag and looked into it and saw that everything was there just as it should be. He then looked towards the two injured Pokemon and smiled softly at them. He looked towards Metang and the others and said, "Lets head back to the clearing, bring them along. They need treatment"
Ralts and Elekid didn't protest much as Metang lifted them up with his Psychic prowess and then proceeded to bring them to the clearing where they were supposed to have lunch. Metang placed Ralts and Elekid on the ground. Ash proceeded to shuffle through his bag and took out some potions and two Lum Berries. He placed the berries in front of Ralts and Elekid. They were little hesitant to have those berries, Ash saw that.
"Eat them, they will heal you up. I will also apply some potions on those injuries and it will feel a lot better, ok?" Ash said gently. Both Pokemons slowly nodded their head and took a berry each and devoured it. Ash chuckled seeing their way of eating. He proceeded to apply the potion on the wounds. Both Ralts and Elekid flinched as their wounds stung. After few moments the sting was gone, and they were feeling a lot better.
"There all done! Now will you tell me why did you try to steal my stuff?" asked Ash a little sternly. Both Pokemons looked down ashamed, but they looked up and said something in their language to Ash which was difficult for him to understand.
Seeing his trainer's dilemma on how to understand them, Metang tried something,
Abandoned... Hungry... No... Food...
Ash was stunned to hear a smooth voice in his mind. He turned towards Metang who was looking towards him pointedly as if he was talking through telepathy with Ash.
"Did you just talked to me using Telepathy, Metang?" asked Ash. He received his answer in the form of a nod from Metang. Ash was pleasantly surprised by that; he would need to work on that later. Now, as for the message. It took some time for him to understand, but he got it eventually. His eyes widened at the conclusion and looked towards Ralts and Elekid and saw sadness in their eyes.
Ash gritted his teeth in anger. How can someone just go on and abandon Pokemon?! Ash calmed himself and looked towards both Pokemon. He now knew why these two were stealing food from him. They most probably didn't have anything for some days. Ash could see that they were both little underweight. He sighed, for now he would feed them.
Both Pokemons were looking down, feeling ashamed, but they had to steal since they were very hungry. Suddenly they saw two cans of food being placed in front of them. Both Pokemons were surprised, they looked up and saw that Ash was smiling gently at them, as if encouraging them to eat. Tears welled up in the eyes of Ralts as she could feel no malice in Ash's feeling, he just wanted to help them. She walked up to Ash and hugged his leg, thanking him in her own way. Ash smiled at Ralts and patted her head. He saw that even Elekid was looking at him happily.
"Go on, have that food. You both need it. Let's eat our lunch eh" Ash said.
All the Pokemons gathered around and started eating the food that Ash provided them with. Eevee was staying closest to Ash, as he continuously rubbed her head. Gabite, Growlithe and Elekid were devouring their food. Ralts was eating her portion calmly but she was sitting a little close to Ash's location. Metang on the other hand slowly floated near them.
After lunch, Ash packed up everything and was ready to leave. He had recalled Growlithe, Gabite and Metang. The later two didn't want to walk and Growlithe wanted to rest. Eevee wanted to walk by her trainer. Ash turned and faced Ralts and Elekid, both of them were looking at him longingly. He smiled and knelt in front of them.
"Do you two want to come along with me. I want to become the strongest trainer there ever was. I will help you both to become the strongest as well, but you both will have to work hard. I will not force you if you both don't want to join. But, if you want to join..."
Ash held out two Pokeballs in front of them. Both Ralts and Elekid only shared a small look with each other, grinned and poked the Pokeball and got sucked in. They didn't even struggle a little since both the balls dinged almost immediately. Ash smiled, happy that he got two new Pokemons now. He stood up and looked towards Eevee and smiled, "Let's head out girl!"
"Eevui!"
NEXT DAY
Ash was looking across the clearing seeing all his Pokemons working diligently. He had decided to stop and have a training session. He had delegated Metang to train Agilty. It was one of the moves that he had yet to learn, so Ash had decided to start training him on that.
He had also put Gabite into learning the Sandstorm attack. Ash had to consult the Pokedex on how to teach the move to Gabite. After showing Gabite the move through the available videos on the net. After seeing the video and getting a basic understanding of the move, Gabite had gotten working.
Growlithe and Eevee were two new Pokemons that he had yet to train seriously. They had only a small training session back in Kanto. Ash hadn't had the time to start their training seriously before today. A mistake he was too keen to remedy. Since Eevee knew quite a plethora of moves, Ash knew that maximum she can learn now was limited. Only up on Evolution will she be able to learn stronger attacks. Ash had put her up to learn Bite. After she masters this move and gains some battle experience, he would think of evolving her. He has about 8 different evolutions he can gain upon evolving her. He'll leave the decision on Eevee, as to which form does she want to evolve.
Growlithe, though was strong hasn't mastered all his moves, so for the time being Ash had decided to make him learn another Fire attack and help him master all his existing moves. That, and he had decided to teach him even more before his evolution. End of it, Ash had all his Pokemon except Ralts and Elekid in learning new moves or practicing the already known ones.
Ash then looked towards his two new additions to the team, Ralts and Elekid were looking towards the training Pokemon in awe. Although he could see Ralts was a little nervous, Elekid on the other hand had an expectant expression, ready to start training. He smiled at them, maybe he has a full team this early, but he didn't care. He will take time from now to capture more. He will have to be more careful as for what to capture. He wasn't unhappy with his situation; he loved all his Pokemons.
"Ralts, Elekid come here" Ash said beckoning them to come near him. Both Pokemon made their way towards him. As they reached him, Ash took out his Pokedex and pointed towards them. Elekid knew what his trainer was doing, but Ralts didn't. Her last trainer didn't point any machine towards her, so she was little afraid.
Ash took notice of Ralts' uneasy expression and smiled softly at her, "Don't worry Ralts, this is a Pokedex, it will help me to know more about you and let me help you as well" he said. Ralts sagged in relief. Ash chuckeled a little and pointed the Pokedex at her. The mechanical sound of the Pokedex rung out.
Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon. Ralts is the pre-evolved form of Kirlia. It can use the horns on its head to read human emotions. Ralts rarely shows itself to humans, but may occasionally approach when it senses positive or happy feelings. This Ralts is female. Its ability is Synchronize. The Pokemon knows the moves Growl, Disarming, Double Team, Confusion, Hypnosis, Draining Kiss and Psybeam.
"Wow! You know Psybeam! You are amazing Ralts!" Ash said smiling down at her. Ralts ducked her head in embarrassment. But on could see her happy smile on being praised. Ash then pointed the Pokedex towards Elekid,
Elekid, the Electric Pokémon. Elekid waves its arms to produce a strong electrical charge and gains strength when lightning is present. This Elekid is male. Its ability is Static. It knows the moves Leer, Quick Attack, Thunder Shock, Charge, Swift, and Thunder wave.
"You are a strong one aren't you. You both are great. Now you rest for today, we'll start your training from tomorrow, okay?" Ash said to them to which both of them nodded their heads. Ash proceeded to look towards his other Pokemons who were training and decided to check on them. His team was young and inexperienced now, except for his first two. But they would be great upon training.
Just then there was a huge explosion nearby...
Well here goes the second chapter for all of you. I know it's been sometime, but I hope that this chapter would be to your liking.
Again all my readers do give reviews since I hope to learn where I could improve.
