Yep, this is a dark chapter. Why is it dark? Because I am revealing Kairi's backstory. It'll be similar to Melody of Memories only... we see Kairi's parents. Who are they? You'll find out...
As Ahsoka was driving the girls, she explains her life, How she was a Jedi, and how her friend Barriss betrayed her by framing her for murder. After her name was cleared, Ahsoka decided to leave the Jedi Order. Kairi and Sakura were taken back by her story.
"Wow... I can't believe someone would do that to you." Kairi said. "Ahsoka, I am so sorry."
"So am I." Sakura added.
"Thanks..." Ahsoka said. She then reads the radar. "We should be in the next world soon."
"Where?" Sakura asked.
"The radar says... Radiant Garden." She answered. Kairi's eyes widen.
"That's the world I was born in." She whispered. Both Sakura and Ahsoka look at her.
"Really?" Sakura asked. Kairi nodded.
"Ahsoka, land there..." Ahsoka looked at back her.
"Are you sure?" She asked. Kairi nodded.
"I... I want to know my past. I want to know about my parents." Ahsoka nodded and landed the Gummi Ship. They arrived in town near marketplaces and weapons . Kairi smiled at the sight. She was told by Sora that the town was being rebuilt.
"Wow, The town looks to be in great shape ever since Sora saved this world." Sakura and Ahsoka too were fascinated by the town.
"This place is beautiful Kairi." Sakura said.
"Sakura's right. This place is amazing." Ahsoka agreed. They see people shopping, children playing. Buildings being built. They passed the Borough and see a small house. Kairi was about to walk through before doing a double-take. Both Sakura and Ahsoka stopped walking and looked from behind.
"Kairi, what is it?" Ahsoka asked. Kairi didn't answer. Instead, she walked over to the house and knocked on the door. She waited until someone oped the door.
"I told you, we don't need your freaking cookies..." A female voice called out to them. She stopped to see a Familiar redhead standing in front of her, giving a wave.
"Kairi..." She murmured. "Hi... how are you doing?"
"Hi, Yuffie." She greeted. "Long time no see."
"Hey, come on in." Kairi nodded and walked in with Sakura and Ahsoka following her. They see Leon watching Cid working on the computer. Aerith, giving tea to her friends.
"Hey, guys. Kairi's back." Yuffie cheered. They all turned around and smiled.
"Hi, Kairi." Aerith greeted.
"We missed you."
"Well, if you ain't in top shape." Cid smirked.
"It looks like you've grown up, Kairi." Leon smiled.
"Thanks, Leon. These are my new friends Sakura and Ahsoka." She greeted.
"Hey, there." Both girls greeted.
"Nice to meet you." Ahsoka says.
"Lkiewise." Leon said. "So, what's up? How's Sora doing?"
After telling the story of their dilemma, the Radiant Garden gang was in shock at what was happening. Leon crossed his arms.
"I see, so Sora is traveling to other worlds to regain the power of waking."
"Yeah, and I too, am trying to get stronger." Kairi said. "And according to Yen Sid, Ahsoka and Sakura are here because they were in his vision where we won."
"I see..." Cid said. "Did he tell you how we won?" Kairi shook her head.
"I think if he did, then it wouldn't happen. Another reason why I'm here is this... I wanna know about this place before... Aghhh!" Suddenly she felt a pain on her head ash she clenches it. Both Sakura and Ahsoka walk to her.
"Kairi, what is it?" But she didn't answer. She then falls down, screaming in emotional pain. She then opens her eyes.
"Kairi, are you okay?" Ahsoka asked. She didn't have an answer. Instead, she looked at the ceiling.
"I... I remember..." She said silently. Both Sakura and Ahsoka looked at her in confusion. They looked back at her.
"I remember my childhood. Where I came from... and how I came to Destiny Islands." Kairi told them.
"Can you tell us how?" Ahsoka asked. Kairi didn't say, instead, she walked back out. They followed her until they reached the castle gates. She walks over to the door and touches it.
"This is where I used to pick flowers with my grandma until she died. She used to take me here every day while my parents were busy until they came home. After her death, my parents would take me back here in remembering her."
"Do you remember who your parents were?" Sakura asked. Kairi closed her eyes for a brief moment before opening them back and answered...
"Yes, I remember my father was, he was one of the loyal knights for Ansem the Wise... His name was Rei."
"Rei?" Ahsoka questioned as she touched her chin. "I know that name. Master Yoda told me he visited here once and helped him battle droids from entering this world."
"Right..." Kairi said. "And my mother... She was a librarian. Her name was Erika. She was a tough and fierce woman. I remember my grandmother telling me stories about the light and darkness."
"Do you know what happened to them?" Leon asked. Kairi didn't say anything. Instead, she started to tear up before answering...
"Yes..."
It was a beautiful day in Hollow Bastion. A Family of three was in the Radiant Garden park. Little Kairi and her mother were picking up flowers with her father watching. The little girl picks up some dandelions then runs up to her father.
"Daddy, I brought these for you." She cheered. The man gave the girl a chuckle and picked her up and take them."
"Thanks, Princess." He said as he was tickling her. The mother laughed as the girl jumped off of her father's arms and runs around shouting...
"Come catch me, Daddy." Rei just chuckled and puts his arms around his wife's shoulders.
"She is full of energy." He said.
"That's right..." Erika said. She then puts her head down and Rei notices it.
"What is it?"
"I... just have this feeling that something terrible is about to happen. And I won't be able to protect Kairi." She explained as she sees Kairi running around in circles, laughing. Rei lowered his eyes then he shook his head.
"What are you worried about? She'll be fine. After all, I saved this world from those droids. I owe Obi-Wan and Anakin some dept." Erika was about to smile until they heard people screaming.
"HELP! DARK CREATURES ARE APPEARING AND THEY ARE KILLING PEOPLE!" A woman screamed.
"Creatures?" They questioned. They wasted no time in grabbing Kairi and runs to see dark creatures running amok, attacking. They see one with a tiny humanoid structure. They were horrified to see them attack a person causing his body to fade away. Only for another creature to appear.
"We gotta get Kairi out of here." Rei said. Erika nodded in agreement.
"I'm afraid I can't allow you to do that." A Voice called out to them. They both turned around to see a man with white hair wearing a black, high-collared, leather coat that has a red interior and yellow lining. Both parents recognized that man.
"Xehanort. You're behind this." Rei teethed. "What do you want with my daughter?" He said as he shielded his family.
"First of all, my name is Ansem... Secondly, She is a very important piece for my plans, now if you..." He couldn't finish it as he was punched by the girl's father.
"RUN!" He told his family. Erika nodded and ran as fast she could while holding Kairi. Xehanort and Rei, fought each other but unfortunately, Xehanort was the stronger one as he used his dark magic to take a hold of him.
"Since your heart of full of pure light, it would be a waste to turn you into a Heartless so I am going to go mercy on you." With that, he stabbed in the heart only unlike other people, his body stayed the same but he sees the Castle one more time before his eyes closed for good.
Erika, not too far from the park, felt her heart hurt. Kairi looks up in worry.
"Mommy, what's going on?" What happened to Daddy?" She asked. The woman looked at her daughter and didn't answer her. Instead, she touched the Necklace that Kairi was wearing.
"I hope this spell will make her lose her memory of this awful day." She then gives her a fake smile. "Your daddy will be okay, but no matter what happens... I will always love you, my Princess of Heart." She said with a tear. After that, she touched the necklace as Kair's body disappeared and is flying in a beam of light to a new world.
"I hope this spell worked... I hope whoever Kairi's light is, will protect her." She said... She then turns around to see Xehanort approaching her. She gives the man a cold glare.
"You may kill me and my husband but as long as Kairi's light is protecting her, you will not get to her. I have a feeling in my heart that her light will be strong enough to save all worlds. So you killed my husband for nothing." But before she could rant, a Sniper bullet shot her heart. Xehanort looked beside him to see Xigbar was the one shooting him.
"I thought she would never shut up." He said. He lowered his weapons.
"What now?" Xehanort gives a smirk.
"Do not worry. It's all going according to plan." He gives a sinister chuckle.
After hearing that story, the people who heard it were in tears. Sakura and Ahsoka both embrace her in a comforting hug.
"Kairi, I'm so sorry this happened to you." Sakura said.
"So am I." Ahsoka said. Kairi wiped her tears and nodded.
"It's okay... I'm glad I didn't see my parents get killed." She lets go of the hug and looks at the last spot where she last saw her mother and father. Suddenly they heard screaming. Kairi recognized it.
"That came from the park!" Leon Exclaimed.
"Then let's head over there." Kairi led the others to the Radiant Garden national park. They see Heartless attacking the civilians.
"We gotta help these people!" Yuffie said.
"Right, you get the civilians out. We'll take care of the Heartless." Ahsoka ordered.
"Right, Commander." Yuffie said. Ahsoka looks back in confusion but she brushed it off as the Radiant Garden gang saves some civilians and leads them out.
"Right." Kairi said. She pulls our Keyblade and blocks an attack before it can hit the civilians. She then teleports and attacks one Heartless after another. She calls The move "Seven wishes." Sakura hits them off until her Keyblade transformed into a fiery flower plant. The plant spits out fire and eliminates all enemies. She then uses her chakra strength to hit the ground, killing them all, simultaneously. Ahsoka, while not having any weapons, did a lot of damage. She forced jumped a lot of Heartless by pushing them off the ground until Kairi and Sakura slashes them. Ahsoka smirked until she a child scream.
"HELP!" She turns around to see the last group of Heartless surrounding a little girl. She had shoulder-length hair and was wearing a pink dress. Ahsoka wasted no time by running towards and jumping beside her He picks her to and holds her. Ahsoka was holding her with her left arm. Kairi and Sakura gasped and rushes over to help her. She was about to use the force to push them out of the way when suddenly... a beam of light surrounded them and disintegrated each Heartless, killing them. Kairi and Sakura gasped while Ahsoka looked to see that she and the boy were all right. She looks up to see... a Keyblade.
"Wha-what?" She asks in confusion. The Keyblade was shaped like a lightsaber only it was Key shaped. Its handle looked similar to a Lightsaber's handle.
"How did I get this?" Ahsoka asks in confusion.
"It's because you have a strong enough heart to wield one." Kairi said. "Your heart called out to it. Like it called Sora's, Sakura's, and the others."
"Really?" Ahsoka asked. Kairi nodded.
"Maybe it's in Yen Sid's vision as well. Who knows?" Ahsoka swings around her Keyblade and gives it a smirk.
"I like it. It feels more natural than a Lightsaber." Both Kairi and Sakura smiled.
"It suits you." Kairi said. Ahsoka nodded and puts the girl down. The girl grinned at the former Jedi.
"Thanks for saving me." Ahsoka chuckles and ruffled her hair.
"You're welcome. Now, where are..."
"Merlene!" A voice called out. The little girl turned around and gasped. It was a Heavy-set man with only one arm. His hair is a top fade.
"Daddy!" She cried out as she runs to hug her father. The man chuckled and squeezed her as soon as she was in her arms.
"Thank you, ladies, for saving my little girl."
"It's no problem, sir. We're happy to help." Ahsoka said while holding her new Keyblade.
"Name's Barret. I'm part of the restoration committee. If you need help, just holler. I'll be at Merlin's house. And Merlene will look forward to seeing you."
"We will too." Sakura said. Ahsoka nodded and waved bye to the little girl. Kairi was looking at the father-daughter duo and felt a sense of remembrance. She looks over at Ahsoka and smiles.
"Ahsoka... Thank you." Ahsoka looks over in confusion.
"Thank for not making little girl suffer the same fate that I did. For making sure she grows up with her father." Ahsoka gives Kairi a kind smile.
"Well, whenever a person's in trouble, I will always be there to help." Kairi nodded.
"And I will make sure other children won't lose their family to Xehanort. I will get stronger and I will help defeat Xehanort. Are you with me?" Both Ahsoka and Sakura nodded.
"We are." Sakura said. Kairi smiled. She now knows that with her friends at her side, she's ready to face the darkness. Like Sora said...
"My Friends are my POWER!" She exclaimed.
Oh... wow... that's a lot to take. I finished Clone Wars Yesterday and boy did it end on a high note. Watching the pains of Ahsoka and Rex trying to escape Order 66 was heartbreaking. I mean I knew it was going to happen but I was still not ready for it. Anyway, next chapter is Toy Box after a few chapters there is the girls' first world. What is it? Let me put it this way... it's a mid-2010s Disney movie. Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter.
