The wind blew through their hair while Murphy watched Caroline walking to Romeo's grave and she looked at the tombstone. She placed the flowers near the tombstone and Murphy hugged her after she stood up. They headed for the cement bench as they sat facing each other and Murphy took hold of her hands.

"I fergot t'ask, but is this the part of our romance movie where we're unexpectedly reunited?" Murphy asked.

"Yeah," she said with a nod.

"And we're at the point where we're tryin' t'figure out if we're still a couple?"

"Are we?"

"I feel like we are."

"But we're not the same people."

"Never expected us t'be. All I know is I haven't felt like this in a long time."

"Like what?"

"Like I'm alive. I told you I fell in love with Jeanie, but it was completely different from what I feel fer you."

"I feel alive, too," she said and Murphy barely smiled.

"But we have t'get t'know each other again."

"Or we can accept the fact that things have change and try to move on from there."

"Sounds like you've done that before."

"Not just me. Daryl," she said and Murphy looked at Daryl standing next to the gate to the cemetery. She had told Murphy about Benji, but she wasn't sure if it was her right to tell him about Daryl and Carol's relationship and she slightly lowered her head. Murphy moved closer, lifted her chin so she was looking at him and he brushed the hair out of her eyes.

"One thing I did notice is you no longer think you're nothin'," he said.

"Still think that. Just don't let it bother me anymore."

"Do you still think yer life doesn't matter?"

"Nope."

He moved a little closer as he lightly kissed her lips and she shyly smiled.

"I noticed you're a little quieter," she said.

"Don't have much t'say," he said.

She slid her arms over his shoulders and Murphy felt a small shiver moving through him.

"So, what do you wanna do? Start over or move on?" Caroline asked.

"I want us t'move on," he said.

"Ok. But…just so you know…you can talk about Jeanie and the kids if you want."

"And you can talk about Benji if you want."

"I'd rather talk about the people I met after him."

"Like who?"

"Carol."

"Who's she?"

"Caroline, we gotta get back," Daryl called out from the entrance of the cemetery. He felt a little awkward about being a chaperone and he watched Murphy helping her to her feet. They headed out of the cemetery as Daryl walked behind them and he slid his hands in the pocket of his jeans. As they walked down the path, Caroline turned Murphy to her and she reached for his hood. She pulled the hood up to nearly cover his eyes and he leaned closer until their noses touched. Daryl cleared his throat as they moved back and Caroline turned to flip him off. Daryl softly laughed as they walked down the path and he shook his head.

Notre-Dame Cathedral

The guards opened the doors as Daryl and Caroline followed Murphy inside and they walked by the man-made huts and shacks. Some of the children were laughing as they played with the toys Connor and Murphy had found or ran around kicking a ball and someone was playing a flute.

Murphy nodded his head as he walked away and Daryl and Caroline watched him heading for the chapel.

"What were you talkin' about?" Daryl asked as he looked at his sister.

"We were tryin' to figure out if we were still a couple," Caroline said.

"Are you?"

"Yeah. We decided to move on instead of startin' over. Problem is how? We act like things are just like they were before the world fell."

"I noticed."

"Then I remember he had a wife. Kids. I feel like the other woman."

"Do you still love him?"

"Hell yeah."

"He still loves you?"

"Yeah, but it's not the same way he loved Jeanie."

Daryl knew he wasn't good at relationships as he sighed and he looked down at his feet.

"This is one time I wish Carol was here," he grumbled and she nodded while Connor walked down the grand staircase. He walked to them as they looked at him and he pulled the hood down.

"Where's Murphy?" Connor asked in a soft voice.

"He's in the chapel," Caroline said in a soft voice.

"What's wrong?" Daryl asked in a soft voice.

"Follow me," Connor said as he headed for the chapel and Caroline and Daryl followed him. He opened the door to the chapel as they walked inside and Daryl felt a stillness in the air. Connor saw Murphy sitting on the pew in the front row as he walked closer and Murphy had his rosary in his hands. His eyes were closed and his head was lowered. Connor sat next to him when he slid his rosary out from his robe and he held the wooden cross in his hands. He closed his eyes and lowered his head.

Daryl and Caroline stood in the back of the chapel as Caroline looked at the small statues and the glass holder with candles inside and she held out her hand. Daryl reached into the pocket of his jeans when he removed his lighter and he handed her the lighter. Caroline moved her thumb over the switch as the flame lit and she removed one of the glass holders. She lit the candle then placed the glass holder back into its spot then handed the lighter to Daryl. He removed one of the glass holders as he moved his thumb over the switch and the flame lit. He lit the candle when he placed the glass holder into its spot and he saw she had her eyes closed. Sighing, he blew out the flame, placed the lighter back in the pocket of his jeans, closed his eyes and he started praying.

"Daryl? Caroline?" Murphy called out and they opened their eyes. They headed down the aisle when they stood near the pew where Connor and Murphy were sitting and Caroline sat next to Murphy.

"What's goin' on?" Caroline asked, looking at Connor.

"I just received word about someone tryin' to break into th'Louvre," Connor said.

"Ain't that a museum?" Daryl asked.

"One of the most famous museums in Paris," Caroline said.

"Why would someone want to break into it?"

"It is our major storehouse," Connor explained.

"It also still has valuable artwork and artifacts inside," Murphy said.

"What are you gonna do?" Daryl asked.

"What we normally do. We're gonna go check it out," Connor said.

"Need some help?"

"Wouldn't mind."

"When do you wanna leave?" Caroline asked.

"Now," Murphy said as he stood up and Caroline took hold of his right hand. He wrapped their fingers together as the four of them left the chapel and they headed for the grand staircase.

The Louvre

The black vans were parked down the street from the Louvre as Daryl knelt next to Connor near a car and Caroline knelt next to Murphy near another car. All of them were wearing black body armor, boots and riot helmets. Caroline and Katherine helped pin up Connor and Murphy's hair so they could tuck their hair in the riot helmet and Murphy had quickly kissed the tip of Caroline's nose before putting on the riot helmet.

Caroline saw the glass pyramids near the grand museum had been smashed in and some Macabre were moving in and out of the metal structures. The grand museum was still intact and she wondered what the inside looked like.

"Should we get rid of the Macabre?" Daryl asked.

"Th'others will take care of 'em," Murphy said as he pointed to the people in body armor, riot helmets and boots carefully heading for the Macabre.

"Let's go," Connor said.

They headed for the grand museum as they held their weapons in their hands and Caroline stayed near Daryl. They went up the stairs when they stopped near the front doors and Daryl saw the doors were open. He signaled for them to stop as he and Connor looked quickly inside and Connor nodded. They walked inside the main lobby and Caroline was slightly stunned by the grandeur of the museum. Connor led the way while they went to the left and Caroline looked at the painting on the walls.

Connor held up his left hand to stop them before they walked into one of the galleries and he quickly looked in the room. Nodding, he motioned for them to move and they walked through the room.

Caroline silently wished they had time to look around the room as she walked near Daryl and they went into the next room after Connor checked to see if anyone was in the room. They entered the room when Connor pointed to the fire exit door and they walked to the door. He tried to open the door as the door opened and Connor looked at the stairs. He checked to see if the stairwell was clear and they headed for the stairs.

"Do we go up or down?" Murphy asked.

"Up," Connor said.

They headed up the stairs with Daryl taking the rear and Connor led the way. They stopped at the landing as Connor opened the door and they headed down the hallway. Caroline looked at the statues and paintings when they went around the corner then stopped when Connor saw six men wearing red body armor, boots and riot helmets standing near a column.

"Shit," Connor whispered.

Connor and Murphy looked at each other when they had a silent conversation and Caroline glanced at Daryl. She then felt a stillness in the air. It was the same stillness she felt in the subway station all those years ago and she noticed how Connor and Murphy held the guns in their hands. She tapped Daryl as she pointed to the wall and they went to stand against the wall. They looked out from around the corner while Connor and Murphy stepped into the hallway and the men in the red body armor looked at them.

"Oh crap. It's them," one of the men said in French

"How do you know? All of the Cathedral soldiers wear the same armor," the second man said in French.

"Look at the guns."

Caroline had seen what type of guns Connor and Murphy were using and she moved back against the wall. Daryl looked out into the hallway as he looked at Connor and Murphy and he moved back against the wall.

"What are they doin'?" Daryl asked in a soft voice.

"What they're supposed to do," Caroline said in a soft voice.

"Look, we're just leaving," the first man said in French.

"And we haven't harmed anyone," the second man said in French.

"Yeah. We haven't crossed the line," the third man said in French.

"You crossed the line the moment you stepped over the threshold to this sacred place," Connor said in French.

"Shit," the first man said in French.

Caroline looked into the hallway when she felt like someone was behind her and she and Daryl turned to see two men in red body armor, boots and riot helmets. Before Caroline and Daryl could fire the crossbows, the men fired the guns and the wires hit the body armor. A charge of electricity moved through them as Caroline screamed then she and Daryl fell to the floor.

Before Connor or Murphy could move, the men fired the guns. The wires hit the body armor as the electricity moved through Connor and Murphy and they fell to the floor. The men walked closer and they pointed the guns at Connor and Murphy.

"Hold!" a voice said in French over the radio transmitters in the helmets. "Bring them to me."

"What about their companions?" the first man asked in French.

"Bring them as well."

"You heard the Master," the first man said in French and they lifted Connor and Murphy off the floor. The other men brought Caroline and Daryl out of the hallway and they headed down the hallway.

Alexandria

Carol wasn't sure why she had come to Alexandria as she walked downstairs to Daryl's old room and she went to sit on the couch. Dog had followed her downstairs as the dog went to settle on the couch next to her and she scratched the top of the dog's head. She then heard the sounds of drums, flutes and chanting and the air grew ice cold.

"Hello, Earth Mother," Jeb said.

"Hello," she said and Dog lightly growled. "Do you have any information about Daryl and Caroline?"

"I have been in contact with someone. Turns out they are in…"

"France."

"You knew that already!?"

"Just found out."

"Hmph."

"Does your contact know their location in France?"

"She's lookin' into it."

"She?"

"She's called the Blue Lady. Seems like she's been lookin' after some friends of Caroline's fer a while now."

"Friends of Caroline's?" she asked with a confused look on her face. She remembered Caroline telling her she wanted to go back to Boston to look for her true friends after Gabriel had accused Caroline of working for Alpha, but Carol, Daryl and Ezekiel had talked her into staying. "This Blue Lady? Can she be trusted?"

"Yeah," he said with a nod.

"Can she help Daryl and Caroline get home?"

"Dunno. It depends on if she can free them."

"Free them?! You said she knew where they were!" she said as she stood up and walked to Jeb.

"Take it easy. She said they're ok fer now."

"What happened?" she asked with a growl.

"Accordin' to her, they got captured again," he said with a sigh.

"Great," she said with a sigh and crossed her arms over her stomach.

"I'll contact you if I hear anymore."

The drums, flue and chanting stopped as the air grew warmer and she went to sit on the couch. Dog placed its head on her lap as she looked over at the poncho sitting on the chair and she blinked the tears out of her eyes.

France – unknown location

Daryl felt a dull pain in his head as he moaned and he opened his eyes. He felt the coolness under him when he slowly sat up and he felt a little dizzy. He scanned the stone room with his eyes when he saw someone lying on the floor to his left and he crawled over to them. The stones felt wet and cold against the palms of his hands as he stopped near whoever it was and he shook their left shoulder.

"Go 'way," Caroline grumbled.

"Caroline, wake up," Daryl said and she opened her eyes. She rolled onto her back as she looked up at him and he helped her sit up.

"Where are we?"

"Dunno," he said as he helped her to her feet when he heard moaning and he saw someone lying in the far corner. He walked over to the corner when he knelt down and he could just see Murphy lying on the floor. "Found Murphy."

"Connor's over here," Caroline said as she knelt down and she shook Connor's left shoulder.

"G'way," Connor grumbled.

"Connor, wake up."

Connor opened his eyes as he rolled onto his back and he looked up at her.

"Where's Murphy?" he asked.

"Over here," Daryl said and Caroline helped Connor to his feet. They walked over to Daryl as he knelt down and he shook Murphy's left shoulder. "Murphy."

"What?" Murphy grumbled when he opened his eyes, rolled onto his back and he looked up at Daryl. "Where's Connor and Caroline?"

"We're here," Connor said as Daryl helped Murphy to his feet. Caroline made a small grunt as Murphy pulled Caroline into a hug and Connor looked up at the small window with iron bars.

Daryl looked at the iron door with a small window in the door and iron bars were in the small window. He walked to the iron door as he tried to get the door open, but the door was locked.

"Where are we?" Murphy asked as he let go of Caroline and he walked to the wall to the left.

"Does anyone hear water drippin'?" Caroline asked, looking up at the ceiling.

"It's comin' from over here," Daryl said when he heard footsteps on the stone and he and Connor stood on either side of the iron door. Daryl motioned for Murphy and Caroline to hide as they headed into the far corner and the footsteps stopped in front of the iron door.

"Move away from the door or my men with shoot," a man said in French and Daryl and Connor could just see the rifle barrels sliding between the iron bars of the small window. "Tell the other two to come out of their hiding place."

Connor motioned for Murphy and Caroline to come to them as Murphy and Caroline walked to the iron door and they moved away from the iron door. The iron door opened as a tall man with black hair and dark eyes walked in the cell and Connor and Murphy sighed as they rolled their eyes.

"Hello, Claude," Connor said in French.

"Who is this guy?" Daryl whispered to Murphy.

"He's th'leader of those eejits who robbed th' Louvre," Murphy whispered.

"Quiet!" Claude shouted in French.

"Claude, you know better than to yell at my brother like that. Now, this is how it's going to go down. Our people are going to have to check the Louvre for explosives and if you have taken anything. While they're doing that, more of our people are going to come here and…," Connor said in French then paused.

The sound of gunfire filled the air as the men at the small window ran off and Connor and Murphy crossed their arms over their chest while Claude growled, flexing his fingers.

"Looks like your people are getting hurt for no reason. If you would just join us….," Murphy said in French.

"No! I will not join desecraters!" Claude said in French.

"We haven't desecrated anything. In fact, we stopped looters from taking whatever they wanted. Hell, if it wasn't for us, the Mona Lisa would be hanging on a wall in some shack. So would the Money Changer and the Coronation of Napoleon," Connor said in French.

"Not to mention the Louis XVI barometer and the Maximillian's Hunt tapestry," Murphy said in French.

The gunfire grew louder as Claude looked out the door then he turned to look at Connor and Murphy. The sound of running headed down the hallway as Claude pointed his gun at Connor and Connor rolled his eyes.

"Use it or put it down," Connor said in French.

Caroline and Daryl looked at Claude while three people in black body armor, boots and riot helmets appeared behind Claude and they had their guns pointed at the back of his head.

"Do you think he's going to surrender?" Murphy asked Connor in French.

"Nope," Connor said in French.

Claude growled when he pointed the gun at Caroline then he pulled the trigger just as she tried to move out of the way.

"No!" Murphy and Daryl shouted at the same time as Caroline fell to the floor and Claude's head exploded after one of the people fired their gun.

"Move!" Katherine said as she ran in the room and she knelt down next to Caroline.

"We need a medical kit! Now!" Connor called out in French and one of the people ran in the room with the medical kit. He handed the medical kit to Katherine as she opened the medical kit and she started examining Caroline. Connor held onto Murphy's left shoulder while Daryl knelt next to Caroline and Katherine placed the pressure bandage around Caroline's right shoulder.

"Let's go," Katherine said as Daryl carefully lifted Caroline off the floor and they headed for the doorway. She saw the look in Connor and Murphy's eyes as she walked to them and she pointed to the doorway. They left the room as they headed down the hallway and Daryl cradled his twin in his arms. She looked so pale and lifeless as he held her closer and started praying while running down the hallway.

Notre-Dame Cathedral – the hospital

"Put her over there," Katherine said while pointing to the operating table and Daryl placed Caroline on the operating table. "Do you know her blood type?"

"It's the same as mine. O negative," Daryl said.

"That makes things easier. Go lay on that stretcher."

Daryl went to get out of the body armor, boots and riot helmet when he put on the hospital gown then went to stretch out on the stretcher and Katherine hooked him up to a transfusion kit. He looked at the ceiling as he tried to connect to Caroline, but she had locked him out to prevent him from the pain and Daryl closed his eyes.

Outside the hospital, Murphy paced while Connor watched him and he felt the anger, fear and concern coming from his twin.

"If she dies, I swear I will bathe th'streets with those eejits' blood," Murphy grumbled.

"She isn't gonna die," Connor assured him. He watched his brother pacing when Murphy placed the palms of his hands against the wall and he lowered his head.

"I can't lose her."

"You're not gonna lose her."

He walked over to his twin then started rubbing Murphy's back as Murphy sniffed and tears dripped from his eyes.

"Wanna go to the chapel?" Connor asked. Nodding, Murphy pushed off the wall and they headed down the hallway.

The next morning, Caroline felt the pain moving through her right shoulder as her mind replayed what happened and she sighed.

"Caroline?" made her turn her head to see Daryl on the bed next to her left and he sat up, pulling the bedding around his waist. She saw he was wearing a blue hospital gown and his hair was sticking up around his head.

"Hey," she said in a sleepy voice. He got out of bed when he headed for her bed and he moved the chair near the bed next closer. He sat on the chair when he placed his forearms on the mattress and he placed his chin on the back of his forearms. He gave her a sad, concerned look and she thought about how childlike he looked. "Sorry."

"No need to be sorry," he said while Katherine walked in the room and Caroline smiled at her.

"Hi," Caroline said and Daryl looked at Katherine.

"She just woke up," Daryl said as he got up and Katherine brought the small table with medical equipment to the bed. He watched Katherine examine Caroline just as Connor and Murphy entered the room and Connor stopped Murphy from heading for the bed.

"Is she alright?" Connor asked.

"Other than gettin' shot in the shoulder, I'm fine," Caroline said with a tiny smile and Murphy headed for the bed. He leaned over to kiss her lips as she reached up with her left hand and she moved her fingers through his hair. He moved back while Katherine pointed to the door and Connor followed her out of the room. Daryl went to stand by the door when he leaned his back against the wall and Caroline looked at him. "What happened to Claude?"

"Someone blew his brains out," Daryl said.

"What about the others?" she asked as she looked at Murphy.

"They finally decided t'join us," Murphy said, brushing the hair out of her eyes. Caroline yawned as her eyes started closing and Daryl felt her mind relaxing. He also felt like he was intruding as he pushed off the wall and Murphy called his name just as he was about to leave the room. "Unless you wanna walk around with yer ass exposed fer everyone to see, I think you should stay here."

Daryl walked to the bed as he sat down on the bed and Murphy sat on the edge of Caroline's bed. They watched Caroline sleep as Daryl frowned and Murphy took hold of Caroline's left hand, wrapping their fingers together.
