"Any news?" Erin asked, quickly making her way into the waiting room.

Sean glanced at his phone and shook his head, "Nothing yet. The last thing Uncle Jamie said was that she was still pushing."

This Father's Day would be extra special for the Reagans, knowing that their newest member will be arriving soon. Eddie's water broke early Sunday morning after having contractions for most of the day on Saturday. The family was informed that she was in labor with a text message from Jamie then rushed up to the hospital, despite the couple's efforts to get them to stay home since there wouldn't be much for them to do at the hospital anyways.

"We've been there for everyone's birth," Erin informed her younger brother and sister-in-law earlier over the phone as she made her way to the hospital. "We're definitely not missing the birth of your kid."

The young couple just smiled at each other, knowing that they wouldn't be able to keep them away no matter what they did.

"I can't believe I'm going to be nineteen years older than my cousin," Sean said after awhile. "I'll be in my late thirties when she graduates high school.

Erin shook her head, "I don't even want to know how old I'll be."

"I'm just happy to be here for this one," Henry said gratefully, thinking of his late wife who wasn't with them to celebrate the impending arrival.

Frank Reagan sat on the other side of the waiting room, lost in his own thoughts. In the weeks before this day, his mind had weighed heavily thinking about his beloved Mary Margaret. She loved all her children but had a particular soft spot for Jamie, especially since he was the youngest. He knew that she would've loved Eddie and been delighted to become a grandmother again, almost two decades after their last one.

He put a hand in his pocket and touched the two small boxes inside. He had special gifts for Jamie, Eddie, and his granddaughter, ones he had made when they informed him that Eddie was pregnant.

"The kid is going to have a kid," Danny said with a fond smile. "It's crazy. I remember when he was born. We were all here at the same hospital."

"I remember that Pop shoved us all in the car and drove us over because we were driving him crazy at home," Erin recalled with a laugh. "I don't think we were any better here."

"You weren't," Henry chimed in with a teasing smile.

Sean looked at the time and sighed, "It's almost three o'clock. I'm starving."

Danny laughed, "We just ate!"

"Yeah like at ten!" Sean pointed out. "There's a burger place down the street. I'll get stuff for everyone."

Erin grabbed a few dollars out of her purse and handed them to Sean, "Here. Get me something."

Eventually, they all gave their orders to him and he happily left. They made themselves comfortable in the waiting room, knowing that it probably would still be awhile until they heard any news.

"Do you think they're still out there?" Eddie asked softly. "You should go tell them."

"They can wait," he immediately replied, staring fondly at the little girl who was laying contently in his wife's arms.

They'd only known her for a little over an hour but they were already so enamored with their little girl. Grace Margaret was perfect and more than they could've ever asked for. She was a good mix of both of her parents, with her father's dark hair and her mother's piercing blue eyes. She had a very calm nature already, a trait that her mother saw as a good sign for the future.

"That was really hard," Eddie said tiredly. "But..." Then, she looked down at the baby, who was staring up at her. "It was so worth it. It was."

"You did great, babe," he responded, kissing the side of her head. "I'm so proud of you."

She smiled softly, "Thank you. I'm just letting you know right now, don't expect another kid until this one goes to school. I don't think I could do that again anytime soon."

"I don't expect you to," Jamie answered seriously. "Let's see how we do with this one and go from there."

"Sounds like a plan," she replied with a happy sigh, pressing a kiss to Grace's forehead. "Also, Happy First Father's Day. I bet you weren't expecting it to happen this way, did you?"

"Not at all," he said truthfully, thinking about how their daughter's due date was almost two weeks ago. "But I'm so glad it did."

Later, Jamie finally went out to the waiting room and announced the newest Reagan's arrival, which promoted congratulations and tears, mainly from Erin.

"Mom would've been so proud of you," she said. "She would've been so excited for this baby. I know I'm not mom but whatever you and Eddie need, I'm here."

"Thank you, sis," Jamie replied, giving her a hug. "I appreciate that." Then, he turned to everyone. "Did you guys want to come meet her?"

"Did you really just ask that?" Danny replied. "We didn't just wait all afternoon to not see her! Lead the way, Jamie."

They made their way to Eddie's room, which was a floor above the waiting room. Frank was the first to walk inside and smiled as he glanced at his new granddaughter, who was wide awake laying in her mother's arms.

"Congratulations sweetheart," he said to Eddie, leaning over and giving her a hug then running a finger down the baby's cheek. "She's beautiful."

"Ohhh," Erin's voice wavered once she laid her eyes on the little one. "She's adorable."

Danny and Henry just gave fond smiles as they embraced Eddie and the baby. They all settled in the room then started to pass the baby around, starting with Henry to Frank and ending with Danny to Sean.

"What's her name?" Henry asked, smiling down at his great-granddaughter, who was now fast asleep in his arms.

Eddie gave a nod of approval to Jamie, giving him the go-ahead to reveal the name.

"Grace Margaret," he announced. "Grace Margaret Reagan."

"That's a beautiful name," Erin said with a teary smile. She walked over to the baby and pressed a kiss to her forehead then went over and hugged her sister-in-law. "Like I told Jamie earlier, my mom would've been so excited for this baby. And she would've loved you. I know I'm not her but whatever you two need, I'm here."

"Thank you, Erin," Eddie replied, wiping away a tear. "I really appreciate that. Grace won't get to meet her but I do want to make sure she knows her. She played a big part in making Jamie the person he is today and I want to make sure she knows that."

"We'll make sure," she assured, hugging her again.

A little while later, everyone started to say their goodbyes and head home, wanting to give the new parents and the baby time to bond and rest.

"Before I head out," Frank said, handing the baby back to Eddie. "I have a gifts for all three of you."

"Oh Frank," Eddie said. "You didn't have to get us anything."

"I wanted to," he replied, reaching into his pocket and handing over the small blue box to Eddie and another one to Jamie. Eddie laid the baby across her lap then opened her gift while Jamie opened his.

"Oh my goodness," she whispered. The box contained two gold bracelets, one big and one small. Eddie's bracelet had the Grace's initials inscribed on the inside then Jamie's birthstone, her birthstone, and Grace's birthstone on the outside. Then, she pulled out the smaller one, which was very similar to hers. Jamie opened his and it was a black leather braided bracelet with two small gold plates, each of them bearing Eddie and Grace's initials.

"I took some of Mary's jewelry and had these made," Frank explained. "She's not here with us physically so I wanted to make sure that the three of you had a piece of her to carry with you everyday. She would've been so proud of the two of you and would've loved Grace."

Eddie sniffled, glancing at the bracelets then down at her daughter, letting a few tears fall. "Thank you, Frank," she finally said. "Thank you so much."

Jamie walked up and hugged him. "Thank you, Dad. This means a lot."

"You're welcome," Frank replied, hugging him back.

He walked over and hugged his daughter-in-law then gave one last cuddle to his new granddaughter. "I'm going to get back home before it gets too late. If you two need anything, let me know and I'll take care of it."

"Thank you, Frank," Eddie replied, picking up Grace and rocking her when she let out a cry. "We'll let you know. Have a good night."

He smiled back as he stopped at the door of the room, "You too."

Jamie walked out of the room with him, accompanying him to the elevators. "Thank you for the gifts, Dad. I really appreciate you doing that for us. I really missed her today."

"I know," Frank responded with a sigh. "I miss her too. But she's here, Jamie. I know she is. She's always going to be with you, Eddie, and Grace. Whenever things get tough, she'll get you guys through it, one way or another. She's definitely done that for me over the years."

"Yeah," Jamie said, stopping once they arrived at the elevators. "I know she is. We're going to need it. Thank you for today, Dad. I'll call you tomorrow. The doctor is going to check Eddie and the baby again in the morning and will probably discharge them by the afternoon if everything looks good."

"Alright. Let me know if you need any help taking things home," he replied, pressing the button to the elevator. "You better get back to your girls. I'll be okay from here."

"You sure?" Jamie asked.

Frank smiled, "I'm sure. Go ahead."

Jamie nodded, "Okay. Be safe getting back."

"I will," Frank said. He watched him start to walk away then called out to him.

"Hey Jamie?"

He stopped and turned around, "Yeah?"

"Happy Father's Day, son."

Jamie smiled, "Thank you. Happy Father's Day to you too, Dad. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."
