Originally this was meant to be omitted, but then I thought to myself; "Why not make my own opinion on this chapter and suggest it, Daniel?" When all is said and done, this was the result. Enjoy

Previously on The Owl House, a trip to the local library reveals a side of Amity Blight that neither Lincoln nor Luz have seen before when Eda and King take on a group of Bat Queen baby bats. Returning to the library at night reveals the life-giving effects of the Wailing Star as the pages come to life, something Lincoln discovers when a face of his father is born from the Vishanti Codex given to him by Eda.

The true reason for his trip here is soon revealed; the Blight twins have been angered by their younger sister's meddling, they plan to steal her diary and leak its contents to Penstagram. An act of betrayal in Lincoln's eyes and an act of intimidation in Amity's eyes. The two run off and with Luz and Emira following them, they both face comet-animated trouble. The human and Amity face off against a corrupted version of Otabin created by Edric's doodles, while Azarathian and Emira face off against monsters detailed in the Codex. In the new dawn, bonds are formed and restored.

Bonesborough Library, Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

wailing star day

After Amity was embarrassed by her older siblings by calling her that nickname, she decided to take some time for herself to de-stress from the situation. She almost made it to her secret hideout before seeing Lincoln deep in thought of her with a strange book in hand.

Amity: Lincoln? What are you still doing here? I thought you would be with the others.

Lincoln: (looks up from his book) The others are probably up to the usual teenage antics and I got stuck cleaning up after them. It's not the first time for me, but it certainly prepared me better. I thought you should know once we inform the librarians.

Amity: (raises an eyebrow) Us? I thought you didn't want anything to do with me, especially after Convention.

Lincoln: After we met two weeks ago in Hexside. We can both agree that we start off on the wrong foot and fist. First with Willow in Hexside, and then with Luz and King in the convention center. But I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, and you're willing to leave water under the bridge.

Amity inwardly feels gratified by her attempt to put the past behind her. A closer look reveals a familiar presence in him that reminds her of herself in a way, but in a darker twist. High expectations unmet, wasted potential unleashed, isolation not of class, but worse. Maybe Lincoln will relate to her one way or another.

Amity: (smiles) Sure. You know, I think the two of us have a lot more in common than we care to admit.

Lincoln: (pause, looking at her) Now that I think about it, your words may carry some weight. But it's not like we can trade lives for the day and call it that.

Amity: (laughs) Yeah, unless someone's dumb enough to cast a body-switching spell.

Lincoln: (nods) I just hope Eda isn't so reckless. Anyway. Now that we're acquainted, I feel the proper introductions are in order. (holds out his hand) My name is Lincoln Loud. (he looks down silently) Although these days it's just Lincoln.

Amity looks at her hand and remembers that she slapped Luz at the Convention and was almost assimilated during the Eternal Oath. She steels herself and completes the salute.

Amity: And my name is Amity Blight. Nice to meet you.

Lincoln: (drops him) Thanks, that made me feel a little better. Now let's find the librarian. You can only fix your flaws for so long before someone else has to put their foot down.

The two then leave, leading to the twins Luz and Blight being caught by them.

Eda's Human Collectibles

Marketplace, Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Currently

Opened at Eda's Human Collectibles Stall in the Market. King is jumping on the table, trying to grab a flag that is hanging above him.

King: Hey! (He falls off the table.) Stupid flag!

Luz enters carrying a ladder while Lincoln carries a wooden sign.

Luz: It's been a little slow around here, but I have just what I need to attract clients.

She places the wooden sign on top of the "HUMAN COLLECTABLES" sign and touches it, activating the light glyphs carved on it.

Luz: And who doesn't like their name in lights?

Fully lit, Eda's blinking face appears.

Luz: Is it too subtle?

Boscha: Subtle means ugly?

Boscha, Skara, and an Oracle Track student with dark nougat skin, no visible hands, red sneakers, black beanie, and blonde hair are standing at the booth.

Luz: Hello, Boscha! Hexsidians! See something you like?

Boscha: Ew! No. I'm just here to take a tongue-in-cheek pentagram next to your weird blinking garbage sign.

She summons her scroll and takes several pictures, causing Luz to squint from the flash.

Luz: It's not funny, Boscha.

Boscha: what are you going to do? Spit me your human poison?

King: Do you have poison? Quick, Luz, Lincoln, start melting faces!

Lincoln (brings his head to his throat-slit eyes) Do you want me to test that theory? (He pushes her away and she turns around, strangely steamy)

Luz: (Kneels.) Even if I could, it's not worth it. You wouldn't understand how to handle teenagers like her.

King: (Grabs his hood.) No, I'll show you what to do. (Grunts, jumps on the table.) You will tremble before me!

The three teenagers stare at him.

Boscha: Oh, it's so cute!

He hugs King and summons his scroll, taking a photo with a filter. Showing amine eyes and laurels on the head.

King: Hey! (He pushes her face.)

boscha: how much? I have to own it.

Lincoln: Read the sign, triclops. (points up) We sell human merchandise, not native species like you.

The students laugh softly at the sick burns.

King: (Frees himself.) You couldn't pay me, sister!

All: Ouch!

King: That's the wrong reaction!

Lincoln: (quietly) Maybe in public. He would work with a few head turns and snaps, or make things worse.

Eda: (Sniffs.) I smell an easy mark. (Jumps out of the tent.) Hey, kid! May I offer you the latest fashions from... (Magically he dresses himself in hideously out-of-date clothing.) the human realm?

ball: yes, no

Skara and the Oracle track student laugh as the three leave.

Eda: Well, (returns to her normal clothes.) I hate her.

Lincoln: Welcome to the club.

Luz: Yes, teenagers can be bitter, but I am a bit sweet. Look what I did to you!

She points to her sign.

Eda: Luz! (Takes the sign.)

Luz: Did I write something wrong? Or did I write something right?

Eda: Leave that. (Wipes the lights.) You may be forgetting something, Luz. I'm a little... (Holds up his search sign.) Running away! Remember? All the city guards would be at my door if I had my name on the lights. There's still the woman who hired those demon hunters to capture Lincoln during the Moonlight Conjuring, remember?

Luz: Well, I don't see anyone right now. Maybe you're just being paranoid. You are a powerful witch. Why hide when you can "poof" all your problems with magic?

King: What does Luz know about the problems anyway? All she's got is some silly teen drama! She doesn't understand how hard some of us have it.

Eda: You're pampered all day like a damn baby. How hard is that life?

King: Well, I don't know if you noticed, but I'm not a baby!

Luz: So why are you yelling like that?

King: My life is a living nightmare!

Lincoln: (growling) It's not that simple. Light, magic alone will not solve your problems. If you were in their place, you would like to lay low. Rey, I'm sure you can relate to being treated with at least a modicum of respect. (sinister) Question. Me. As.

Eda: Well, there's only one thing to do when friends can't see each other face to face.

Luz: Hug each other until we pass out? (Hugs the King.)

King: Fight to the death!

Lincoln: Accept that we all have our respective problems and move on?

Eda: Pfft, no. Body transformation!

King: (To Luz and Lincoln) Are you sure they don't shoot poison?

Lincoln: Luz no, I'm not sure. (blinks) Huh, Amity called him.

Play Music: The Owl House Theme

The portal appears and opens.

Luz and Lincoln appear, and appear to be going up through the sky, but the camera shows that he was upside down and that they were actually falling.

Eda rescues Luz and Lincoln, and together with King, they appear flying the Owl Staff, in the direction of The Owl House.

The camera follows them to the Owl House.

He approaches the door, where Hooty is, Luz opens it and she is seen twirling the cane, until she leaves him standing, Luz puts her right hand on her hip, and holds the cane with her left while Lincoln draws his sword and deal a similar blow. pose

Eda takes the cane from him and Luz gets nervous, Lincoln gives a funny face while King stands in front of the camera to wave with his arms outstretched.

Willow, Gus and Amity appear in three frames.

Willow forms a heart with her hands, Gus holds out his arms in celebration, and Amity just ignores him and turns her back, folding her arms.

King is shown holding a stuffed rabbit, along with many other stuffed animals around.

He pretends to rule these stuffed animals, until some of them fall on him, while other stuffed animals keep falling in front of the camera.

Luz flies over Bonesborough as Lincoln rides alongside her, where he meets Tiny Nose, Willow, and Gus.

Later, Eda and King are seen running from the guards. They help them escape, but then Luz loses control of the staff and they are chased by a creature.

Luz, Lincoln, Eda, and King are on the roof of the Owl House, where Luz casts her Light Spell, making him enter the night.

Chapter 10

once upon a trade

Eda: I love a good body swap. It's like a demonic possession with the ones you love.

Lincoln: Are we going to do that? That's possible? (Caliburn rests among the trio) Whatever you three have, keep me out of it. I for one know what it's like to play in someone else's shoes. I did something similar with the clothes. do not ask

Luz: (Picks up a VHS box.) It's like my favorite movie from the early 2000s! weird friday. But maybe we should think about this for a second.

Eda: Body swap!

Luz: Ouch!

Eda swings her staff over their heads, a curtain of yellow light and smoke falling on them, the glow of the blade still showing.

Luz: did it work? I need a mirror. (Runs to the mirror with a grunt, slides down.) I found one. (she gets up and sees Eda's body, with Luz's eyes) Oh, my God. It worked! I'm so old... (she grabs her ears.) And pointy!

King, now in Luz's body, approaches the mirror. His eyes and one of his fangs came with him.

Luz: Hot dog! It's me!

King: (in Luz's body and in King's eyes) Yes, it is. I am the human now. Bow before my huge meaty hands!

Luz: Wait, so that means...

Eda clears her throat. Luz and King look back at the table, where the last smoke is dissipating.

Eda: (Posing in King's body, with Eda's eyes and a gold incisor placed in the skull) How do I look?

Lincoln: Ready for the runway, Queen.

King: I have some... very mixed emotions right now.

Eda: Thank you Lincoln. Nice nickname too. (Lincoln is confused) Alright, here's the deal. Anyone who can prove their new body has the easiest life gets out of the house cleaning job. And you know what that means.

We cut to Hooty laughing maniacally as he plays in the mud, then back to all four of them shaking.

King: It won't be me. Teenage life is a tyrant's dream! (To Luz.) At the end of the day, I'll be ruling over his weak demographic.

Lincoln: Ugh. Easier said than done, princess. (The king's eye twitches)

Luz: Well, I have magic. Eda, don't get too upset when your inventory is gone and the guards don't notice.

She accidentally shoots a beam of light that knocks her to the ground.

Lincoln: You were saying, Edaluz? (starts to walk away) Anyway, I'll be around town exploring if you need me. Don't come crying if you're all running away more than usual.

Luz: (grabs him) Oh no, brother! You may not be part of this bet, but you will not run away from this experience.

Eda: (rubs her claws mischievously) Light! Remember that little spinning wheel you see on game shows. Get it out.

Luz squeals and goes fishing around the store to pull out a wheel, each piece of the wheel showing a person's face. The faces of Willow, Gus, Amity, Emira, Edric, Skara, Boscha are among the few on said wheel as post-its.

Eda: This right here is what I call the Exchange Wheel. (Light places the body swapping spell on the arrow of the wheel) Whichever face it lands on is the person you will swap with until our bet is over. Neither before nor after. (jumps and spins it) Round and round, the wheel, it goes. Where or on whom it will stop, nobody knows.

Finally, the wheel stops and your target is selected. A beam of light shoots out and Lincoln suddenly goes limp before turning around again after a few seconds.

A stranger

Lincoln struggles to open his eyes as they stare up at a starry ceiling. They looked to the side, seeing that they were on the floor of a room.

Lincoln: (groans) Where am I?

Lincoln looks around the room, where it is lined with books and decorated with posters and tapestries from the Emperor's Coven.

Lincoln: What place is this? It looks like a nobleman's bedroom. Why do I suddenly have deja vu?

Lincoln looks at her hands and notes that her nails were painted black and are more feminine in nature.

Lincoln: Wait, these hands look a lot like...

Lincoln was silent and quickly goes to see a mirror and when he sees the mirror, he realizes that he was in Amity's body.

Outside the Blight mansion, a loud scream can be heard as birds fly up in panic.

Lincoln: (angry) EDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Amity groans as she rubs her head and sits up. She tries to open her eyes, but she flinches a bit as the sun suddenly hits her. But she knows that she closed the blinds in her bedroom.

Amity: Ugh. What happened?

Luz: Uh... Amity?

Amity: Luz? What are you doing in my room... (She realizes that she was not at home but at Eda's stand, and that she saw Luz with King's eyes, Eda with Luz's eyes, and King with Eda's eyes ) How did I get here and why are all your eyes different?

Luz: (Giggles) Uh, hehe, it's hard to explain, but you might want to take a look.

Amity: (confused) Uh, what (she put her hands up to her face... only they weren't her hands, they were too... masculine... and well toned) What?

Amity gasps as she looks down at herself and sees that she is in Lincoln's body.

Amity: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (She screams, her new body sizzling from her before Luz covers her mouth with Eda's hand)

Luz: Stop yelling! Alright?! Now you're just in Lincoln's body and he's in yours! OK? Are you going to speak lower now?

Amity nods in response as Luz removes her hand from Amity's new mouth, the power waning.

Amity (deep breath): Ok, how am I in Lincoln's body? Also, why do I hear your voice in Eda's body?

King: Well, long story short, we had a discussion about life being hard and Eda had the bright idea to switch bodies, but Lincoln didn't want to, so we made him do it.

Amity: Body swapping? You're crazy?! What bodies are you all in? (blinks) Wow, did I just call this?

Luz: Well, I'm in Eda's body. I thought with magic, you could just "poof" out of your problems.

Eda: And I'm in King's body. Anyway (he jumps off the table and leaves) If you need me, I'll be treated to a vacation fit for a king. Later Amicolón.

Luz: Do you think Lincoln's mind got there safely?

Lincoln (voiceover) EDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

They all stop dead when they hear his voice from across town.

Luz: It doesn't matter. (to Amity) Wow, who knew you had that kind of lung?

King: My life is not a joke! (To Luz) But yours is (Touches Luz's nose) Bap! (she laughs and runs off)

Luz: Amity? Can…

Amity: Yes, I'm going after him.

She chases after him, noticing the new difficulties during her search. She can feel a parasitic squirming sensation, as if Lincoln's body recognized her intrusion and is now trying to force her out of it. Her psyche begins to show scenes that are not her own, to show more human like Luz, but crueler except for a happy few.

Amity: What's happening to me? Lincoln's body feels like everything hurts. (She tries to draw a circle for the help of an abomination, but she disappears and reappears a few blocks down, tripping her) Okay, magic is impossible. I don't think I can control this kind of magic like him, and these images in my head. Is this his…his past?

Noceda Residence, Royal Woods, Michigan, USA, Northern Hemisphere, Earth

Times have been good for Camila, Rita and their purer daughters since leaving The Loud House and their name two weeks ago. Around this time, the quintet is relaxing when they hear a loud voice.

Lincoln (voiceover): EDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Everyone is shocked by this, but knowing that he and Luz are in the camp, they ignore him and continue with their business.

Eda's Catastrophe

Cut to Eda walking through the city. He picks up some red sunglasses, puts them on, and poses. Freeze frame with the words "Eda's Catastrophe" above it. Lincoln appears, looking puzzled as he waves his hand at Eda, then touches the letters and the background.

Lincoln: The storyboard artists at Disney Animation believed that presenting these viewpoints in this way would hint at what would happen to each of them. Don't look at me, I'm just a fanfiction counterpart to a Nickelodeon cartoon character. (He leaves and she continues walking.)

Woman: Look at that baby!

Eda: Oh, hello.

Man: So adorable!

Eda: Yes, hello to you too, handsome.

Unknown Voice: (voiceover) Yeah, Ooh. Awww. This is how it all starts. Then there are the runs and the screaming. Just take the most unfortunate Zinthosians, for example. So young, but so cruel when they feel weak.

Eda listens to this voice until a guard stops her.

Guard: Stop right there!

A guard with a four-headed dog is watching her.

Eda: The Emperor's Guard.

The dog sniffs and then growls.

Guard: You thought you could get away with it, didn't you?

Eda: Wait, do you know who I am?

Guard: Of course I do. You are... (changes tone) the cutest little angel I've ever seen! Who wants a lollipop? (He holds up a pink lollipop.)

Eda: (Throws away the sunglasses and takes the lollipop.) Ha! That's more good.

The dog sniffs and then whines.

Eda: (Scoffs.) You have nothing! (She laughs and leaves.)

The dog licks its nose where Eda hit it with the lollipop.

Eda: (Sighs.) Being king is a walk in the park. I will win this bet for sure. (Stops walking.) What...?

Unknown: Oh, Dottie! Look at this little lost dumpling!

She looks up to see two women. The first has spiky brownish-gray hair, pale skin, pointy ears, and a large birthmark next to her chin. Her eyes are blue and she has worn eyes. She wears a hot pink collared tank top over a pastel pink and blue striped long-sleeved top, and is wearing heart earrings. She also wears a yellow apron that advertises her business over her clothes.

The second has pale skin with plump, droopy cheeks, pointy ears, and a wart on her right cheek. She also has large, sharp fangs and does not speak in a regular voice or using words, instead making creepy monster-like noises to communicate. She wears blue glasses with pink rims around her eyes and has a lock of light brown hair peeking out of her hairnet. She wears a blue and pink striped top with a yellow apron that advertises her business.

Unknown Voice: Run. Now.

Eda: what is that? (They pick him up.) Wow! Hey, I'm not lost, you creeps!

Roselle: Poor baby! Do you need us to make you a delicious meal?

Eda: No, I don't need you—

Roselle scratches Eda's belly.

Eda: Scratches on the belly? Oh. Did you know? Maybe I'm lost. Take me away, ladies.

They walk down an alley, their shadows looming over the wall along with a third.

Unknown Voice: You are not lost, Edalyn. But in truth they have taken you.

Eda hears this but sees no one there, shrugging as she continues her walk.

The window and a demon with several giant eyes is painting words on the window. Roselle and Dottie take Eda inside.

Roselle: Welcome to our kitty cafe. This is our little safe haven for cherubs like you.

Various witches and demons play with smaller creatures, only one of which looks like a cat. Although she is a cloaked figure apparently sipping a cup of tea as she looks at Eda.

Unknown: (sarcastically) Just what Bonesborough needs. Two crazy cat ladies. Yuck.

Eda: Ugh... What's going on down here?

Unknown Voice: You don't want to know. But I have a feeling you will.

Eda: Well, my creep alarm is going off, but I can't argue with numbers. (Takes the cupcake Dottie gives her.)

Roselle: This place is a safe place. A place clean from the outside world. And those teenagers who dirty it. (Points to a sign behind her that reads "NO A-MEOW-ED TEENS.") Have a nice nap, dear. And welcome... to your new home.

She and Dottie walk through the employee-only door. Eda tosses the cupcake aside.

Unknown Voice: Ouch. Even I felt how bad that sentence was.

Eda: Ha! Oh, being adorable is life. (Yawns.) It's time for a nap.

He takes out a pillow, strokes it, and lies down. A shadow passes while something meows. Eda opens her eyes with a gasp. She peeks over the edge of the crib and Bowtie jumps up.

Bowtie: Leave this place!

Eda jade.

Bowtie: (jumps into the crib and grabs Eda by the neck.) Danger is near.

Unknown Voice: Finally! Someone understands. If I were you, I would pay attention to his words.

Roselle: (Through the door.) Demon baby! We have a surprise for you.

Eda: Did you hear that, Bowtie? (She pushes him out of the crib.)

Bowtie: (growls) Ouch!

Eda: There's a new star in town.

Unknown Voice: The brightest stars burn out the fastest.

The door opens. Bowtie howls and runs.

Roselle: A present for our cutest new demon. (She shows him a bee costume.)

Unknown: I warned you.

Eda: (annoyed with her voice) It's okay, I'm leaving. (She crawls out of the crib and goes to the door.) Novelty costumes are where I draw the line.

Unknown Voice: (amused) And yet King looked so cute in that sailor suit Tibbles made him wear. Don't deny that you liked watching him squirm.

Roselle: Dottie, please help our little angel to change.

Dottie squeals and growls, jumping on various pieces of furniture to stop Eda.

Roselle: Oh no, honey. You can't survive out there without us.

Unknown Voice: You can't with that screen either. If you really love something that much, you must learn to let it go. Draven did.

Eda: Ladies, step back. I am not above disrespecting my elders. (She twirls her finger; sighs.) Oh, dammit. I'm not a witch right now.

Roselle: No, honey. You are a cute patootie. (Catches up to Eda.)

Unknown Voice: And now you know what King feels every day. What a catastrophe. Brilliant. I'm doing it now! BRB. I need to write a report.

Eda: (Runs.) Not today, sister!

Roselle: No!

Unknown Voice: Yes!

Dottie squeals. Eda goes through the employee-only door. He closes it behind her and moves a pale blue chair under her handle.

Roselle: Leave us this instant! It's not time for you to be there.

Eda: Stop coddling me!

Unknown Voice: (sneering) Why do you look like one though?

She turns around at the voice, then becomes visibly uncomfortable. Inside the room are several demons in rocking chairs, stacked on shelves, all of them smiling sinisterly, wearing similar outfits, and most of them drooling.

Eda: This vacation just took an alarming, down-the-street turn. (He waves his hand in front of one of them, without reacting.)

Unknown Voice: Even paradise can be a prison. Something that an Ahamkara I know had learned. It seems that there is no one home.

Baby: Tasty num-nums.

Edda: Wow. But seriously, whose voice am I still hearing in my head?

Bowtie: Don't bother.

Eda screams.

Bowtie: Their minds are tragically gone. They have been pampered for so long that they forgot how to live on their own. Their brains turned to mush.

Unknown: This reminds me of a boy I knew who was constantly watched by his paranoid parents. This would have been his fate if we hadn't intervened. We help him break his chains and spread his wings, despite his parents' interference. He would see him from time to time with a new circle of friends. Finally free. A true second in command. Clearly, these two, having not received as much love from their parents or potential lovers, have obtained a distorted perception of love, etc., at this time.

Eda: Geez, I thought I liked being pampered. But I feel so small and helpless, like some kind of... baby. But that won't happen to us, right?

Bowtie purrs as he plays with a ball of yarn; gurgles

Unknown Voice: (sadly) Your last breath of sensitivity has given us our answer. She will not fall into the dark in vain. Not if we can help it.

Eda: I failed you, Bowtie. My closest ally.

Bowtie: Meow. Meow. (He rolls to the ground.)

She hears knocking on the door. Eda gasps. Dottie growls.

Eda: I'll avenge you, Bowtie! (She throws him.)

Bowtie meows. Bowtie lands on Roselle's face. Dottie goes to help her. She eda sees the sunlight.

Eda: ¡Ah!

She runs towards the light, diving through a hole. She runs to a window.

Eda: ¿Eh?

The monster growls and floats away. Dottie growls.

Roselle: Oh, wonderful! Now everyone can see our best baby... (Holds up bee costume.) forever.

Eda: No!

As the two of them pile on her, not noticing a shadowy presence looming among the many mind-broken pets, the instincts they once lost begin to creep out of her subconscious and burn her chains.

Unknown: You may still have a chance to escape, Edalyn. But we will give them a chance at salvation.

Lincoln's Horrible Trillionaire

Amity Room, Blight Manor, 811 Bruegel Boulevard, Bonesborough, H, 120890, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

We see Lincoln pacing Amity's room. Her eyes keep changing between a pair of golden eyes and her normal set, indicating her presence in a body. The new body of him is dressed in a black half-sleeved dress with orchid stockings and black heeled boots with gold crescent moon buckles. On his neck he wears an amulet with an orchid

lincoln: okay okay. I'm in Amity's body and I'm back in a mansion. (pause) I'm going to kill Luz and Eda when I return to my body. (to readers) Metaphorically speaking.

The frame freezes with "LINCOLN'S HORRIBLE TRILLIONAIRE" in front of it. He looks at the words and pushes them aside, knocking the bottom down like it's paper, then looks at her hand to see a small shiny crack in it, something dripping. A small thought causes him to seal himself.

Unknown Voice: Just be thankful you didn't swap bodies with me for one more... private moment.

Lincoln: Yeah, I can only imagine walking over Em or you after she... Wait, what? Friendship?

Unknown: (hears a knock on the door) Hey, Mittens? Are you OK? I heard you scream before. You sounded strange for a moment.

Lincoln (coughs/mimicking Amity's voice) I'm fine Ed. I just had a very bad thought for a moment. (quietly) Nailed it!

Edric: Ok, I'm only calling because mom wants everyone to sit at the table for lunch. (mentally) Ed? Amity never called me that.

Lincoln: Ok, I'll be right down.

Edric walks down the stairs and Lincoln sighs.

Lincoln: (counts) Okay. I just have to pretend to be Amity long enough to escape, find Amity in my body, then find and have Eda change us back. I already lived a life of luxury during that mustard contest, I think I can do it again without losing myself. And that gender nightmare.

Amity: Mustard contest? Gender inclined? Ugh, I need to make sure King stays out of trouble, then find you and Eda and change our minds. I didn't expect your body to have this much maintenance, he's constantly trying to fight me for control, plus these images in my head and your magic being so powerful and wild doesn't help anything.

Lincoln: (mentally) Wait, how do we hear each other? Some kind of mental link? As for your body, I believe the Azarathians can anticipate such an outcome and have created enchanted wards on their minds and souls. Acting like this when someone tried to switch minds or possess them. Do what you have to do without using your... my magic. Don't put it further than necessary. (picks it up) Well maintained? Yours is the most sensitive. I am the one who listens to your voice and I am already mending cracks. Not from "there" in case you're wondering.

Amity: (nervous) Just find a way to get out of here before someone notices or you embarrass me?! I will try to do the same for myself.

Lincoln goes down to the dining room and sees Edric and Emira sitting next to each other and two adults who must be Amity's parents. The mother is middle-aged with pale skin, mint green bi-color hair in a bun, blue eyes, and wears dark purple lipstick and black nail polish. She wears a purple top, a white vest with intersecting trios of pink crystal balls, dark teal pants, two-tone gray lace-up boots, gold earrings, and a magenta amulet around her neck.

The middle-aged gentleman with fair skin, pointy ears, messy brown hair, wispy mustache and goatee, bushy eyebrows, and golden eyes. He wears a gray lab coat with a light gray belt, a light gray shirt, white pants, and dark gray shoes, indicating the profession of inventor.

Lincoln sits next to Mr. and Mrs. Blight.

Mrs. Blight: (claps) Now then, it's time for lunch.

A cook arrives at the table with a carriage of covered dishes.

Mrs. Blight: What do we have this afternoon?

Cook: Only the best food snails can buy.

Cook: (Opens the lid revealing a small tentacle on the plate) Look! Baby kraken tentacles (places a wooden finger) Wooden troll middle fingers... (makes some kind of sauce) with selkigrey sauce. Enjoy.

Lincoln (looks at his plate / mentally) So this is what the rich eat here in the Demon Realm. I know I've made some great dishes with local ingredients, but this is a different delicacy. Wait, middle fingers?

Unknown Voice: I know the offense, Lincoln. It's weird for me too. Just think of it as finger food. Enjoy it while it lasts. The two adults you see before you are my parents, Odalia and Alador Blight. Odalia is the CEO of Blight Industries, a subsidiary of the Abominaton Coven, which provides a variety of abomination-based accessories for home security and specializes in weaponry for clients. My dad is the one who invents such products.

Inner Voice: Why stop at fingers when you can have entire bodies to devour? I wonder what Blight tastes like. He must be better than he seems.

Edric: (Lincoln flinches at the thought and is interrupted by a frustrated yell) I want Fairy Pie!

Emira: (Annoyed) I want takeout!

Mrs. Blight: We don't eat common food, dear ones. Now eat fast, (to Lincoln) especially you Amity. Are you going to help your father with his little toys?

The twins let out a defeated sigh and began to eat, the father smiling honestly at him as he ate too. Lincoln does the same and finds that the food is edible, after all, it is Amity's treat. After everyone is done, Lincoln follows Alador to his workshop, leaving behind a small, messy trail of Amity.

Lincoln: (mentally) I hope Amity and the others are having a better time than I am. I feel like I'm a bully in a candy store full of kids. One wrong move could trigger who knows how many alarms. I can only guess whose voice I'm hearing, but what is that other voice? It sounded so... wrong, but I've heard it before. But, from where? And when?

Amity: (mentally) I wish I could give you an honest answer, I just heard it too. She just keeps playing. The father is a clumsy and easily distracted scientist. If something catches your eye, it can be quite difficult for others to get you to focus on something else. He doesn't seem to be very talkative, as he only talks when necessary. When others ask him questions, he is as direct and concise as possible. Try and use that to your advantage.

The king's brush with death

Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Cut to King successfully jumping and grabbing a flag.

King: Hey! He is no longer so high and mighty. (He throws her to the ground.) I feel so alive! (Shouts.)

It falls into a garbage can. Freeze the frame with "KING'S BRUSH WITH DEATH" on top of the trash can. Amity appears during the frame, looking at you as she taps the fourth wall in confusion before walking off. The action resumes when the trash can falls. A yellow water balloon hits the ground next to the trash can. The tentacles grow out of the water.

King: (Backing up.) Oh no! (Screams and ducks.) The flag, seeks revenge.

Amity (Looking at him from afar) I should have known I'd be doing something stupid. (Her hand glows and shakes, squeezing) Argh, slow and steady, Amity. Just do what humans do, don't use magic.

Unknown Voice: Keep telling yourself that, Amity. You will get out of this, I know. I just hope her power doesn't spill over like she did a week ago. (hears something) And give King some slack, before trading with Luz, he was treated like a baby.

Amity expected to hear Lincoln's voice, not this new one. Her thoughts turn to distant laughter that is heard from inside and outside of her mind. King and Amity look up at a cliff, where Skara and a Potions student with green skin, four eyes, and a nose piercing are standing. The latter throws a water balloon to the ground.

Man #1: (Caught in tentacles.) Help me! I am a delicate man.

King: Teenagers.

Amity: Ki... Luz, wait! (follows him)

Treasure Shack, right arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Cut to King pulling himself off the cliff. Amity diving and making a perfect landing. In front of them is an armed hut made of wood and other pieces. Amity knows that this is a meeting place for Boscha and her friends.

Amity: (shocked) Who knew Lincoln could lift? Must be muscle memory doing its thing.

Unknown Voice: It's not just her memory that helped you now. The longer you stay in that body, the more you will become it in mind and spirit, and the more danger you will put this entire city in if you lose control.

Nearby, Skara and a potions student are shown to be the ones tossing water balloons.

Potions Student: (Taking another water balloon from a bag.) Hey, take this, society! (He breaks the balloon on himself.) Oh, no. (Shouts.)

A tentacle grabs him, causing Skara to flinch. King crawls towards a building with signs reading "TREASURE SHUTTLE". while Amity sticks to the rooftops. King sniffs under the curtain, then looks under it. Amelia and Boscha are on their scrolls while the Oracle student is flying upside down in winged boots, trying to do sit-ups. The inside of this place looks like a teen hangout. With billboards, maw-sounding woofers, beetle guitar, jagged MP3 and a glass eyeball to name a few of the objects. The Oracle student groans.

Boscha: (Scoffs.) Just give it up.

Oracle Student: I swear, I can do crunches. I'm just having a bad day. (Wailing.)

Boscha: Sure, you can.

Amelia stands up and throws a peace sign as Boscha walks over to take a picture of him fighting.

King: I'll show Luz how to rule these fools.

Amity: (whispers) Rey, wait!

King: (Enters.) Greetings! Er... (Stands up.) Greetings! Bow down to your king of humans.

Unknown Voice: The term you're looking for is Queen. Light is a girl.

Oracle Student: (Falls over and grunts.) Hey, no one tells me what to do.

Boscha: (Scoffs.) Shut up.

Oracle Student: Sorry, Boscha.

Unknown Voice: Fickle little sheep, aren't you, King?

Boscha: (Writing on her parchment.) New post: The human loser thinks she can hang out in our sacred Treasure Shack. Spoiler alert: she can't. Daring Dragonborn being held by monsters. I can't wait to release it. (looks at Amity in Lincoln's body near her, her cheeks turning red) Dragonborn? Did you accept my invitation?

Amity: (involuntarily imitating Lincoln's voice) Ehh, I didn't know what to say at first. You put me in place during the spell a few days ago. But I thought I should give them a chance, at least to see what kind of friends they could be. (covers her mouth)

Oracle Student: (Flying) Yeah, get out of here, Goody Two-Shoes. (points to Amity) Not you though. You can stay. (she realizes) Hey!

King: Goody Two-Shoes, ¿eh?

King steals his flying boots, making him fall to the ground. King flies out of the Treasure Shack, grabbing Skara's bag of water balloons.

King: Hey, impressionable youngsters!

Amelia and the Oracle student walk out, opening a curtain, them, Amity and Skara all looking at King.

King: Under my command, you could learn to deal real damage. Nyeh!

Turn the bag over and throw everything away. Tentacles rise taller than the library. King turns around to face them slowly.

King: Hail, your new teenage king.

Unknown Voice: . And you have a lot to learn to be a true king, let alone a royal.

Oracle Student: I didn't like being told what to do before, but now I love it.

Boscha looked at him, then looked at Amity, who was just as surprised and shrugged, and the triclops snorted in jealousy. Amity's mind begins to flash more memories, those of a time when she searched for the sounds of silence.

King: Who wants to rebel with me today?

Skara: Yes! You're the best.

Oracle Student: We love you now.

Amelia: I love it!

Unknown Voice: I hate how fickle some of the youth are today. I don't want to sound old, but I remember my generation when we were your age.

Skara and Amelia fly away with King. The Oracle student looks at his sock-clad feet.

Oracle Student: Uh, I'll catch up. (Runs after them.)

Boscha: Wait. I didn't give you permission to go.

Amelia flies over and picks up the Oracle student.

Amity: I think you'd better follow them. I'll make sure they don't do anything they can't walk away from. (jumps back onto the rooftops)

Unknown Voice: (behind her) Who said they needed your permission?

She watches them leave with King, shocked at who insulted her like that.

King: Alright, hormone-encrusted acne cubes. Let's let out some teen angst!

Music: You're dating the cool kids / Breaking all the rules, kids / We're gonna have to trick the kids / Into thinking you're cool too / They get their noses pierced / They dye their hair...

Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

As the music plays, teenagers wreak havoc in the city. The Oracle student shuffles the facial features of two witches waiting for the bus, making them scream. A third lowers a newspaper to show that her face is already shuffled. The king shrugs. The Oracle student moves his face to the normal orientation. They scream. He cuts to a sign that says "STORAGE." Amelia takes off her "S"

Elf: Yeah, this sign gets it!

He growls and rips off his shirt, then hits the sign and runs off. The teens laugh, then gasp and run off when the elf returns. Amity appears and returns the letters to the sign.

Cut to everyone laughing like king, holding a crow, shushing them.

King: Guys, hush.

Dial a number on the crow, which caws.

Living room, Owl's House, Boiling Islands, Demon Realm

Cut to the Owl House, where a crow caws repeatedly. Hooty picks it up.

Hooty: Hoo House. beep beep

He returns to the city, where the teenagers are still laughing. King throws the raven into a megaphone on them.

Hooty: Oh wow. I've been waiting for someone to call all day, and now it finally happened! We can talk for hours and hours and hours and hours...

Man #2 screams as Amity hangs up and grabs the raven from the inside.

Meanwhile, Hooty is sad to hang up when Lincoln's head suddenly pops out of the receiver.

Amity: (awkwardly) Uhh...wrong number?

Hooty blinks and performs what in the professional magic word we here on the Boiling Isles call "Hooty-ism." Amity pulls her head in and reappears on the megaphone. She gives you a strange look, gives her another headache, and then leaves.

Cut to the teenagers walking through town, the Oracle student and Amelia holding bags of onion rings. The background music stops.

Amity: (finds him, also carrying onion rings and visibly exhausted) There they are. So... this is what you've been doing.

King: (Laughs.) I don't know what Luz is talking about. This life is a breeze. (Gasping.) I'm... Lincoln? Are you OK? You don't look so good.

Boscha: Enough! I don't know why they can't remember what a freak you are, but I'm going to help them remember.

A wrenching pain more powerful than before hits Amity's mind, her mind may be in Lincoln's body, but what's left of Lincoln's brain and soul still remembers phrases like that and the hostility that emanates from them.

Unknown Voice: Someone is afraid of losing control. Interesting. Control yourself a little more, Amity. Your patience will soon be well rewarded.

King: Ooh, I'm so scared. (He raises his hands and laughs.) He still thinks he has power over you.

The other three look at Boscha with fear.

King: Guys?

Unknown Voice: You went right into that one, didn't you?

Boscha: (points to King) Luz, I challenge you to a race... around Dead Man's Curve.

He points to a path above them that is extremely switchback and is supported by columns of bones. It rises on a red hill. He's also unnecessarily dangerous, as he appears to be slowly falling apart and is even struck by lightning at one point. It seems that there was some sort of attempt to reduce the danger level of the road, as at least one spot on the road, there is a wrong way sign lit by magical worms. Lightning strikes him.

Unknown Voice: That fits the aesthetic strangely.

Boscha: And we will be competing in that. (She points to two creatures.) Giant rat worms.

As their name implies, rat worms possess many characteristics that resemble real world worms and rats. The bodies of rat worms are limbless and resemble those of segmented worms, such as the earthworm. Its defining feature is its rat-like head. They wear red necklaces around their necks and one of them has a scar.

King: Meh.

Unknown Voice: It's not a "meh". Rat Worms are hard to ride without proper bonding and not to mention more hostile than normal sized rats. And in all seriousness, a place called Dead Man's Curve wouldn't be called that if it wasn't for a good reason.

Skara: You don't have to do this, you know. We know that humans are, like, super fragile.

Unknown Voice: (sinister) Not all humans break so easily. Trust me.

King: Don't coddle me! (She approaches Boscha, who, like her friends, was trying to find someone who said that previous sentence) Boscha, I accept your strange adolescent and coming-of-age challenge.

Dead Man's Bend, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Cut to Dead Man's Curve as one of the bones supporting it crumbles. King pushes one of the rat worms to the starting line where Boscha is already sitting, now wearing her own wing boots. Amelia takes out an onion ring.

Amity: (King approaches) King, please reconsider. This is dangerous.

Rey: I don't care, I'm going to show them that I'm not a baby.

Unknown Voice: Don't bother. Once people like to have an idea in their heads, it's hard to talk them out of it. I suggest chasing them once they start.

Amelia: On your mark...

King hops on his rat worm while Boscha smiles at him.

Amelia: get ready...

King swallows. Amelia bites into the onion ring. Boscha's rat worm takes off immediately. King's no.

King: Come on!

The rat worm growls, refusing to move.

Rey: Minion worm, I said go away!

Hit the tail of the worm. Shout and take off. Amity sees this happen and before she can say or do anything, something snaps in her and her composure turns stoic. She walks over to a conveniently placed sign and walks behind it, not appearing on the other side.

Amelia: (realizes) Hey, where did Lincoln go?

King: Stop! I said stop! (Screaming.)

Unknown Voice: You injured a very sensitive area on your mount. Do you really think I'd listen to you after that?

King growls at the voice as his worm rolls down Dead Man's Curve as King rides it backwards. Boscha expertly takes turns while King bounces off them. Despite that, he catches up. Boscha gasps.

King: That's how cool kids ride. Super upside down. By the way.

Unknown Voice: Gentle, King. Very soft.

Boscha growls. She looks ahead and gasps, stopping the rat worm from her. King speeds past.

King: Yes! Say goodbye to your popularity, Boscha.

Boscha: (Shakes mockingly.) Bye.

King turns around and sees a caution sign with blinking worms. He screams and tries to stop the rat worm from him, but he's too late. He crashes into the caution sign and plummets, destroying the Treasure Shack. Boscha is soon thrown from her mount with her feet first, lifted up by her ankles and thrown down by someone behind her and then falls into the ruins.

King: (Falls off the rat worm.) Ouch.

Unknown Voice: Next time, eyes on the road. It is something that all intelligent species have to learn in one way or another.

Skara: Not the treasure cabin!

Boscha climbs out of the rubble, trying to figure out which piece of dead meat just tried to kill her at this moment.

Oracle Student: I don't know how to process this. Somebody tell me what to do!

As if on cue, Amity appears and, with a wave of her hand, restores the building, making it better, worth mentioning, and heals King and Boscha of their injuries.

"Amity": (neutral/mixed) Le temen a la elección, brujas Tu miedo... drag you pain. Let's meet el dolor. Our purpose is your end. You don't have a purpose... because you're afraid to look for one. Si posee la voluntad de buscar tal proposito Ven a lo que ves esta noche / Fear the choice, witches. Your fear... brings you pain. We know the pain. It is the end of our project. You don't have a plan... because you're afraid to complain. You must have the will to seek such a purpose. Come to see what you see tonight.

Amity's blank expression returns to normal, leaving a disturbed one in its place. The pain is even worse now, Lincoln's body is now trying to force her out with even more effort and her mind feels like it's splitting her in half, forcing her to her knees. King and some of Boscha's friends try to help her up off of her, but she ignores them and gets back on her feet.

Amity: (mentally) What was that? It's like he's trapped in his own body, but who was saying those words through Lincoln's voice? Is his body trying to control me?

Unknown Voice: (afraid) No. Worse. Much worse.

Boscha: (Angry despite seeing her current state.) Catch her!

They all go after King fearing that Boscha might do it.

King: Hey!

He runs into the paint can left outside the kitty café.

Boscha: Come back here, human!

King: Luz was right. I can't handle the complexities of teenage life. I just want my body back.

Unknown Voice: Also, you were a male consciousness in a girl's body all this time. I can imagine a lot of people with some pretty... obtuse ideas if they were in your shoes right now.

He comes across the can of paint that was left outside the kitty cafe.

Boscha: I think I saw her come by here.

Kitty Cafe, Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

King runs inside. Teenagers fly by. King catches his breath, then sighs in relief. The lights turn on.

King: huh?

Roselle stomps in.

Roselle: Dottie! A teenager has come to steal our little babies from us. (He handles a broom.)

King: No, wait! I am a baby! (Careers.)

Unknown Voice: In mind, but not in body.

Roselle: No, you're not. You rotten teenager! But when we're done with you, you'll call your mother. She (She grabs knitting needles and drags them over her teeth.)

Unknown Voice: You two need medicine.

King: Ma'am, I just want my body back.

¿?: You can have it.

King turns around and sees Eda leaning on the window with the bee costume on and with a palette in her hand.

Eda: Your life is pretty terrible. But, hey, it'll probably be over soon.

Dottie grunts, throws a bag at King.

Unknown Voice: Their lives won't end, not yet, if we can help it. Because there are still two stories to tell.

Amity continues to search for King and Lincoln, but loses sight of King and Boscha's group.

Amity: Gr. Where did that pet of yours go? (a stabbing pain hits his head again and he hears a new voice)

Unknown: Hello, Azarathian.

Amity turns around to see the Crimson Empyrean standing right behind her waving, scaring her senseless.

Crimson Empyrean: (grabs her and whispers in her ear before they both disappear) Let's talk somewhere more private, okay?

Taller de Alador, Blight Manor, Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

As for Lincoln and Amity's body, we see it with funny faces as the infiltrator was carrying a gun-like device and saw a net attached to a wall with a humanoid doll attached to it. This place is where Alador works to improve abominations and develop new devices to aid the covens in his quest. Some noteworthy pieces are pieces of bronze armor and a giant vat of blood-red matter.

Alador: (pointing to the net launcher) It seems to work correctly, you can go now.

Lincoln almost leaves the room when he notices a picture on his board, a picture of the first Nebulosi he created two weeks ago and the Fracti from the convention a week ago.

Lincoln: Where did you get those pictures of the homunculi?

Alador's eyes widen at Lincoln's use of the word and he mouths the term silently, growing pleased with it.

Alador: Homunculi? It's not an abomination, but it certainly sounds good. Where did you hear that from?

Lincoln: (panic) Um...it certainly looked man-made and I read that homunculi are considered artificial entities. Also, "White Abominations" doesn't really roll off the tongue.

Alador smiles slightly at the thought, going back to the drawing board.

Alador: I printed these from Penstagram two weeks ago, when your old friend Willow was moved to the Plant track. Nice girl, (looks away) what a shame about her mother. I remember when Odalia heard about them for the first time. Man, was she furious with this new competitor of hers. Look at those vats over there, they're our attempt to improve the abominations and then replace those creatures with the coven in case their young creator decides to join a coven, long before they came along. Trust me, you don't want to know where that thing was first found... (shudders).

Blight's father's mention of his wife's fury makes Lincoln remember when Lola gets mad. Usually when the "Pink Demon" gets angry, things break and people get hurt. And when she doesn't know who's responsible, the former Loud is usually the target. This precept was noticed by her enigmatic guardian angel of hers on Earth and also got her kicked out of the pageant league. Odalia could probably compete with her money in terms of temperament.

Alador: These "homunculi" are far beyond what normal abominations can do. According to reports from the Abomination Coven, these builds are tougher, better, faster, stronger, and apparently intelligent enough to appear almost sentient. And like witches, they can seem to learn and improve with each encounter and adapt to new problems. Just take your fight with that Eda apprentice, the white-haired boy.

The Azarathian recalls the Witch's Duel with the Blight child, and his anger was aroused from firsthand accounts. These memories, along with Amity's own history, continue to mesh and blend, creating a new but relatable tapestry. As for her body, as the seconds go by, the more difficult it is to keep Amity's body in her place. His conclusion is that the nature of his mind and her soul are too powerful for a metrionite body like Amity's to handle, and it slowly begins to crumble and shatter like glass, or in this case, melt. He's been able to keep the cracks out of sight in his arms, though what's behind his clothes is a different story. (Don't get the wrong idea.)

Lincoln: (tense) And that boy who fascinates you?

Alador: (silently, trying to find the right words) She has traits that can only be found in a model among witches; natural strength, an inquiring mind and a heart that unites people. Reminds me of Draven in the old days. Wherever trouble goes, Draven usually keeps fixing while he causes his own kind of chaos. You can go now.

Lincoln runs out of the workshop and Alador looks over at the vat of the red stuff, noting that the canister is completely empty, the only thing noticeable are hairline cracks in the glass or open lids, a similar trace along with a light nougat. substance following where his daughter was, then left.

Near Amity's room, Lincoln is trying to find his way out of the mansion, until Odalia stops him.

Odalia: Ah, daughter. Come with me. There's something we need to discuss.

Lincoln: (eyes narrow) Can it wait? I need to get some fresh air.

Odalia: You can get some fresh air in my study.

Seeing no other option without breaking character, Lincoln complies, following the matriarch to her darkened chambers, lit only by light from the open window filtering through the curtains and the large fireplace.

Odalia: As you know, you had the chance to become part of the Emperor's Coven at the Convention and you blew it after you lost to that white-haired monster. (Lincoln feels another crack) But I don't entirely blame you. He just lost control of his power and almost solved our problem by dying until he regained his composure.

He hears another crack, his form visibly beginning to crumble as he sees a light green and brown part of him fall, followed by a red he doesn't recognize.

Lincoln: (grunts quietly) His abilities were...unexpectedly powerful. And the imitations he had summoned only made matters worse. As far as I can remember. The reason why he went crazy is because I said what you say now. Some kind of traumatic trigger.

Odalia nods, unaware of the psychological studies Lincoln taught himself when he was alone with Lisa's books and overheard Clyde's comments about his therapist, Dr. Lopez. Something he still does after the "coming of age" or event of his.

Odalia: Interesting assumption, Amity. (He turns his head towards her, then back to the fire.) If it was that lesser human fighting you. You would have scrubbed the floor with it, even with the Owl Lady's traps. From what I heard from Darius and my sources at the Emperor's Coven, everyone was impressed by the display of him, a display that rightfully belonged to us, and they all seem to be looking for him and asking him to join one of the covens.

Lincoln's interest piques at his comments. Normally, no one outside of the key members of Loud's old house wants anything to do with him or even acknowledge him as a "human". Right now he can't tell if he should be embarrassed by all this attention or worried, but keeping his composure is the top priority.

Lincoln: (his voice cracking) And did someone manage to find him afterwards?

Odalia: No one has seen a shred of him or his white hair since that day. Although there have been two mentions; one of a group of demon hunters hired by the Emperor's Coven to hunt specifically for him, and the other of reports of strange noises during the night of the Wailing Star. Strange noises and energy pulses similar to your duel with him.

Something in his mind snaps, like at the Convention Center. But instead of being summoned by anger, this surge originates from something darker. This information breaks Lincoln's concentration, further hastening the decline, letting in whatever it is he's been following.

Lincoln: (visibly angry) Is... is that so? / Estnita?

Odalia: Quite a bit. I've just learned that the Owl Lady was finally captured, somehow being neglected by someone with her track record, and that the Crimson Empyrean has been on a lead regarding that boy. Soon things will go back to... (he begins to hear a rather beastly growl) to... (he turns slowly towards the source of the sound) ... normal?

He confronts Amity and is met with a chilling vision. What she sees is something that can be quite difficult to describe and calling it a monster or a demon would be considered an understatement.

"Lincoln": (mixed voice) Normal. I'm lying Fate. Absolution friendship Easter victims. It is near. You will die. She. I will intervene. I. Human Solution is preferred. You No. Empire The problem. Family To betray The homunculi. Superior. Abomination Inferior Healing of the heart He deserved it. Assembly of witches I refuse to be hindered by the best. Book. hunters I was killed. Thanks. clientele (pause, showing el rostro de un búho) Humani Prance Nocturnal Cafetería Titan President daughter of Empíreus. Phoenix You survive. Since when were you in power?

There was no point in hearing the words, except for that sentence that was said too many times to Odalia when one eye strays to the window and pushes her and Amity's entire body through the window. standing in a courtyard, she gazes out over the town of Bonesbourugh, searching for something...someone. She sees bright market lights go out, smells the smell of rats, and hears the sounds of cats.

"Lincoln": (looks at his large red clawed hands, showing a glimpse of etched bone beneath a writhing veil of blood, four of which each carry a small absorbing bat wing) Deficient. Amittens. Moriens. fatalema. (pauses to find his target beyond the city) Invenitur. I will fest. I will save.

Unknown: What? An abomination?

Lincoln opens one eye from a different spot to see Emira, standing below him. Scared and confused. As himself once before, as Luz.

"Lincoln": (open mouth) Em. I am sorry. Nocturnal of the mind Swap friendship The body fragile Azarathias Power Surpassing Corrupt Inventories Cie Return. Be propitious. with me

Despite his current size, he is faster than he appears, launching himself from the courtyard and heading southeast at high speed. The one who saw him leave remembers only one person whom she allows to call her that.

emira: ¿lincoln?

Eda's Human Collectibles, Bonesborough Marketplace, Bonesborough, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Cut to the market, where Luz stands up.

Luz: Ugh! Okay, let's try this again. And strut, strut, strut. (Grunts.)

She falls against a box and knocks over a lamp. The frame freezes again with Luz looking at the words, "LUZ'S DEALS IN HEELS." The action resumes when Luz lifts her foot.

Unknown Voice: It's not as easy as it sounds, is it?

Luz: How does Eda wear them all day? (Sees the broken lamp.) Oh no. What have my heels done? Wait a second. I'm a ding-dang witch.

She draws a spell circle on the lamp, launching herself into the air. She lands behind the table with a scream.

Luz: Wow, Eda is powerful. (Screams as magic comes out of her hand.) Not again!

Unknown Voice: This is what you refer to as a "glass canyon" scenario.

Cut to Luz putting on oven mitts, her index finger sticking out of each one.

Luz: Okay, let's try this one more time.

She draws a spell circle over the lamp, fixing it and giving it human legs.

Luz: (Coughs, gasps.) I did magic with my hands! (Jumps.)

Unknown Voice: Imagine if you could start a refrigerator. Put a twist on the old prank call.

Man #2: (Looking at the lamp.) Ooh, so unnecessarily fancy. I'll take it.

Luz: Zippo swappo. Sold to the smart buyer.

She draws a spell circle and the lamp goes out. The man follows him, throwing Luz a snail.

Luz: Okay, magic hands, let's see what else we can magically do.

With a snap of his fingers, a giant neon sign and spotlights appear on the booth. He now he wears a top hat that says "EDA".

Unknown Voice: You are playing a dangerous game, Luz. Keep it up and you'll attract the wrong attention.

Luz: (in a low voice) Shut up. (loudly) Come closer and feast your eyes on the wonders of the human realm!

Customer #1: Oh, what is this?

Customer #2: Where did the other support go?

Customer #3: Your lights are too bright and I forgot why I came here.

Unknown Voice: Fickle thing, huh?

Luz: Was it because of the laughter? (She magics a feather duster to tickle him.)

Customer #3: (Laughing.) Joy! Very painful. (He hands her the handfuls of snails.) I'll keep two for my enemies.

Unknown Voice: (dramatic) Sinister.

A centaur approaches and points to his blank human face. Luz uses a marker to draw a face for him. The centaur cries with joy and fills the table with snails. A baby cries in a stroller. A giant pacifier appears in his mouth. The baby's father throws an entire purse on the table. Several customers leave the stand.

Luz: thanks! Come again! There is something for everyone. Trust me, Eda, the magical gift of the Boiling Isles.

A hooded man wears the post.

Hooded: Is that so? Are you the famous Eda the Owl Lady?

Luz: That depends. Are you a fan... (Puts hand into top hat and pulls out flowers.) of magic?

The flowers make a sound effect when their eyes glow.

Hooded: No, but I'm a fan of... (He removes his cape revealing to be a guard) the law.

Flowers: Oh no! (She withers and dies.)

The guard handcuffs Luz.

Unknown Voice: Buzzkill. Good line of cops though.

Guard #2: (Walks up to the dais.) We were finally able to catch you in the act. All thanks to this little light show of yours.

Unknown Voice: I don't want to say that I told you. But you heard me say it.

Luz: (Looks between them.) Gentlemen, what do you say we forget that all this ever happened? Amnesia spell!

She summons a green pacifier into the second guard's mask. He narrows his eyes.

Luz: I still haven't gotten the hang of this.

Unknown Voice: Do you think so?

Amity's deal with a devil

Left foot, Boiling Islands, Demon Realm

On top of a large peak, the Crimson Empyrean and her prey appear out of nowhere. Amity backs up a bit, but stops when he doesn't feel any footsteps behind her. She turns to see a giant cliff leading into the boiling sea with two other powerful ones and in front of her is a horizon of the Boiling Isles and her kidnapper, along with two elite Coven Guards, matching a minor variation of her outfit. of armor.

Crimson Empyrean: My, my, if it isn't the Last Azarathian himself. (light chuckles) Pretty handsome, right?

Freeze frame with Amity looking at the words, "AMITY'S DEAL WITH A DEVIL", the words are knocked over and the background destroyed by red tendrils. The action resumes when Amity is back on her feet.

Amity: (mentally) It's the Crimson Empyrean. I don't know whether to pinch myself if I'm dreaming or to run in a panic.

Inner Voice: Traitors. murderers. Danger. Stop

Amity: (ignores voice) And you must be the Crimson Empyrean I heard so much about at the convention a week ago. And what do I owe you for such an esteemed honor, Mrs. Empyrean and company?

Crimson Empyrean: (smiles under her mask) And she's very well mannered, too. I'll save you the dance. You see, we've been following you from the convention center for a week after you took down that up-and-coming Blight girl. She would have been a valuable asset whether or not she won. But the powers you used during your duel, the white abominations you summoned, are impressive, and I am here to personally invite you to join the Emperor's Coven. You are already dressed for the job you want. Why not make it official?

Amity: (mentally) Do they want Lincoln to join them? If I didn't fear for my life right now and tried to return to my body, I would take this chance and run. But if I say no or do something that might say otherwise, who knows what they'll do to me?

"Amity": (unknown voice) You speak of such a generous offer, child, and yet I know very little about your little club. Would you be so kind as to enlighten me on the nature of the coven? (pain and tension force Amity to her knees) It's not like she can do anything but listen.

She quickly covers her mouth, unaware of the words she said. The Crimson Empyrean is silent, as surprised as she is. She looks around her to check for anything and shrugs.

Crimson Empyrean: Very good, Lincoln. I'll play along. The Emperor's Coven is one of the ten major covens established on the Boiling Isles and is tasked with enforcing Imperial law. Members of the Emperor's Coven can be found working in government-operated facilities such as the Conformatorium, various police stations, and the Emperor's Castle. Most guard duties and patrols are handled by Coven Guards, although it is not uncommon to see a Coven Scout patrolling the area. Scouts are often tasked with missions outside of urban areas and are usually led by senior members such as captains.

Amity: (mentally) What did I just say? I know everything there is to know about the Emperor's Coven. So why did I ask you to say that? And that voice that I keep hearing now is coming from Lincoln's mouth? The pain is getting even worse now.

Crimson Empyrean: As you know, the members of the Emperor's Coven are elite witches recruited from the best students in the educational system like Hexside. If open slots within the coven are limited, a Witch Duel can be held, with the winner becoming the newest addition to the coven. A duel in which you participated and won.

Unknown Voice: Sure, rub it on his face, why not?

Coven Guard #1: (continued) Upon induction, members of the Emperor's Coven are given a mark from a mark glove and must surrender their palisman to the emperor. New recruits undergo rigorous regiments of training, including dueling witches, navigating trap-filled mazes, and surviving alone on a mountain. Their days start at 6:00 in the morning and they have one day off each year.

Amity: (mentally) The training, the duels and the difficult schedule I can understand. But give up your palismans? Unique survival on a mountain? That sounds a bit extreme.

Unknown Voice: Most likely far to separate the chaff from the wheat. To condition his recruits into unwavering loyalty to his new master.

Coven Guard #2: And finally. Members of the Emperor's Coven are allowed to retain access to all their magic, unlike members of other covens. It is the highest ranking coven in the Coven System and its honored members serve directly under Emperor Belos and enforce his will on the Boiling Isles, functioning as the law enforcement and judicial system. Does that answer all your questions?

"Amity": Thank you for your contribution. I'll make sure it doesn't go to waste.

Crimson Empyrean: So what's your answer, Lincoln? Know that if he joins us, he will finally have a place to belong here in this world. Friends. Family. A true place to call home.

Amity: (looks up the cliff, then back at her) Can I have something to think about on the way back to Bonesborough? I'm not comfortable making those decisions in a moment of suspense. (Amity's eyes lock onto Empyrean's, showing something else) What if I say no?

Crimson Empyrean: (Smiles) Oh, that would be a big mistake. I mean, do you want to leave this peak? No?

The pain keeps getting worse. showing a greater presence over Amity and the others.

Crimson Empyrean: You have to decide now.

Coven Guard #1: Either you come with us and drop everything that's holding you back.

Coven Guard #2: Or be stuck here on this peak, forever.

Emperor's Coven: So what will it be?

Unknown Voice: (Silence on air / mentally) I don't trust her. She just appears out of nowhere and offers us a deal that we have to accept, aside from your personal dreams. How can we be sure that she is telling me the truth about giving me freedom?

Amity: (mentally / looks at her) You're right. This could be a setup. She never mentioned anything about herself, so she may have ulterior motives. (an anguished face blinks for a moment)

Lincoln/Runaway #1: (mentally) Why would he have any reason to trick us in the first place?

Unknown Voice / Runaway #2: (mentally) To catch us off guard. Stab us in the back? It matches your history.

Lincoln: (altered voice) ...and the nature of his soul is similar to mine, but not.

Coven Guard #1: (stares at Amity and realizes something) Looks like they're upon us... (squints and smiles) Let's get this done quick. Hello Lincoln! (getting his attention)

Crimson Empyrean: There's no need to overthink this. We don't have all day.

Amity: Suppose if I joined you, what would become of my friends in the Owl House?

Crimson Empyrean: If you agree. I promise not to touch a hair or a feather on their heads, just like those next to you. Of course, this means you'll never see them again and if they do something to free you... you can complete the points from there. (holds out his right hand) I'll tell you something. We are the same, you and me. We were both born and raised with great power, embraced by those unworthy to be called our family, and allowed to break free and spread our wings. I will ask again. What's your choice?

Amity: (angry/mentally) Damn it! I need to think of something quick! (looks down) Otherwise this won't end well. (he forces himself to get back on his own two feet, but he feels something heading south at his coordinates) Something powerful is heading this way. I can only guess who or what is his. (looks back at the Crimson Empyrean)

Amity: (mentally) There's a familiar feeling coming from this girl... But why is it just her? (her eyes widen) More importantly, where have I felt this before? (She takes a closer look at her and inadvertently switches places with a crazed Lincoln and then a similar white-haired man.

Amity: (mentally) No- He can't! She can't be like them! (hesitating) Maybe I'm wrong... maybe it's just my imagination... right hand? (she looks at her left sleeve, hears whispers and catches a familiar smell) But I can't let this opportunity pass. We have no other choice.

Amity: We accept your offer. (Surprising the two runaways as he walks towards her.) We want to get out of here and since we have this opportunity, why not take it, right? I am also very curious about your world. I look forward to meeting your family, friend. (smile)

This comment takes the Crimson Empryean by surprise, then he smiles again.

Crimson Empyrean: Uh...of course. (mentally) Left hand?

They walk over to shake hands, but as a warning, Amity pulls out a red and gold cloth. surprising the quartet. Her right eye changes as the scarf passes him, Crimson Empyrean falls silent.

"Amity": To the second, I really hoped you weren't like that.

Crimson Empyrean: (mentally) The old tongue?! How does he know that language?!

Coven Guard #2: (mentally) Damn it, Crimson Empyrean, why did you stay this stupid?

"Amity" (mixed secondary tone) So "buddy" I have a question for ya. (Se podian ver sus ojos mezclados entre los suyos propios y un nuevo par de ojos) And at this time I want to know the truth.

Crimson Empyrean continues to stare at him, frozen in doubt or anger.

"Amity": Si familia tua adhuc vivit... Cur heck habes chlamydem? (The image shows burning ruins and a man with said scarf, he is trying to tell her something but everything is drowned.) et cur in sanguine Azarathia tegitur?

Crimson Empyrean: (takes a deep breath) I had to... (recalls a younger variant kneeling before said scarf) I needed more power to protect this world and its Emperor. (Her silhouette of him flashes a crooked smile.) It was better for everyone and the coven if I did it myself.

Amity: (blank and silent) No... I would never hurt my family.

Crimson Empyrean: (closes eyes) But we did. For the greater good.

"Amity": And what about your house? Were your parents, aunts and uncles your cousins? What about your brother? All sacrifice for your cross?

The Crimson Empyrean's eyes widen, but close for a simple nod from the trio.

Crimson Empyrean: If the family you say I have turns out to be a threat to the Emperor and the Demon Realm, they will fall anyway.

"Amity": And what about the hunters you sent? Do you know that the friendships of the older brothers were on the owl hunt in the House?

Amity's mind snaps at this revelation of the inner voice, although she doesn't know this language, she somehow understands the words.

Crimson Empyrean: (unfunny) War casualties.

A faint presence can be felt creeping up the mountain. One of the fugitives is speechless while the other is furious. Amity growls, clutching her scarf as a darker aura pervades her.

"Amity" (lowering lincoln's voice) Erras. (puts on the scarf) We are not the same. West, whom you loved most. You are neither me nor a witch. No... You're right. (the area around the eyes darkens) the sordid murderous brother.

Amity snaps her fingers as the entire area around her goes black, encompassing the sextet, the Coven Guards trying to get their bearings. In the distance someone notices this.

Unknown: This is the moment where everything ends.

Amity: (sore voice) I'm sorry, but he won't have to eliminate me like all the other Azarathi.

Crimson Empyrean: Hmm, I've thought about it.

Amity: (hands start to sparkle) Me capere non potes.

Crimson Empyrean: Everyone thinks they'll be the one to defeat me, but no one has escaped me... yet.

Amity: (tries to pull Caliburn out) Bene, ego primus...

A new pain hits her as she grips Caliburn's hilt. Amity is transfixed by this when, with a single movement, the Crimson Empryean knocks the sword out of her hand and she stands silently beside her.

Crimson Empyrean: to take the hint?

Amity looks at her and slowly pulls out the sword from her sporadically transforming right arm.

Amity: Okay, no more Mrs. Kind Amity.

Amity runs towards her pointing Caluburn towards her, Crimson Empyrean just takes a closer look and steps aside and sticks her foot in causing Amity to stumble and fall face down.

Amity stands up and looks at Crimson Empyrean, who just smiles.

Crimson Empyrean: (laughs) Too slow.

"Amity" snarls wildly and runs at her again and starts attacking her, but from the same attack she did, Crimson Empyrean dodges and hits Amity sending her to the other side.

"Amity" stands up in pain and sees the Crimson Empyrean closing in on her.

Crimson Empyrean: What a disappointment, I don't even need to draw my sword or use my magic.

"Amity": (laughing ominously) Trying to look harder. Perhaps something was missed.

The scene glows a bit to reveal that Amity hasn't moved an inch, but her compatriots now have the same injuries.

"Amity": You are to be the judge. (Aparece un destello rojo bajo la máscara de Empyrean) Not a butcher. And because of that...

The trios trade places with Amity and the runaways looking down on the Coven from above.

Trio: ...you're going to have a bad time / male habiturus is tempus.

Coven Guard #1: Heh heh, it was fun playing the good guys while it lasted. However... (summons a ritual knife) It's time to finish.

Coven Guard #2: (forms a large axe) I agree with you, Evets.

Crimson Empyrean: (showing his fangs) I'm warning you. Give me back the scarf so we can get this over with.

"Amity": Sola res hic desinit, (disappears, only to reappear above them, followed by whatever was climbing to the top, opening its now fiery violet eyes) Iudicium tuum est!

A large dark red creature appears behind her among many other creatures summoned by both of them. The Crimson Empyrean draws his sword, a darker and more corrupted counterpart to Caliburn, and points it at his enemy, smiling.

Later

Cut to a police station. A camera goes off and Luz, looking sad with ears down, is standing in front of a height chart with a prisoner number card next to Owlbert.

Camera Monster: (Coughs.) This is some of my best work. It really captures the shame.

Unknown Voice: Everyone has their muse. I should know.

Owlbert is taken by a guard. He screams in protest when the guard puts a ring around his wings.

Guard #3: (Laughs, slams the door.) Yeah, you'll be gone a long time, you filthy criminal.

Owlbert hoots nervously.

Luz: Owlbert! This is all a big mistake. (Held into an interrogation room.) You're going to laugh when I explain it to you.

Unknown Voice: You're right about that, but not in the way you expect.

Cut to a hallway, where the Emperor's Coven guards are drinking water. A shadow passes over them.

Guard #3: (Gasps.) Is that really her?

Guard #4: Oh no. This is not OK.

Guard #1: Hey, you have to get that thing out before someone sees you.

Guard #2: I like it. She calms the nerves.

Lilith's reflection appears in the one-way mirror.

Guard #2: Hmm? (Spits out pacifier.) Uh...

Unknown Voice: Clumsy. But I understand where the guard is going with this. Youth is something precious and fleeting.

Guard #1: Madame Lilith, to what do we owe this honor?

Lilith: The news reached me that you captured my sister. I'll take it from here.

Guard #1: But ma'am, you're going straight to the Conformatory. I have the order right here.

He takes out a piece of paper, which burns in a blue fire.

Lilith: The orders have changed.

Unknown Voice: If they only knew the truth about the fate of that prison. Our new friends have made sure of that.

Luz: Look guys, you got Eda wrong.

Lilith: Hi, Edalyn.

Unknown Voice: She doesn't recognize your eyes. To her, you are her sister.

Luz: Oh, thank God! A familiar face. You're Eda's sister, right? Is it Libby? No. Limby...

Unknown Voice: Lilith Clawthorne, the Raven Lady. Are you friends with a child whose foster family members have names beginning with "L" and hers is the one you forget?

Lilith: Your display of affection is touching. Do you know why you are here?

Luz: Well, as I was saying to the guard, this is just a classic Freaky Fraturday mix-up.

Lilith: Sister, (Unfolds a long scroll.) The charges against you are long and numerous. Operating a stall without permission, having a hocus without pocus...

Luz: Yeah, I think that list goes on for a while.

Unknown Voice: And that was just the first scroll.

Lilith: These charges are serious. There is no escape now, Edalyn.

Unknown Voice: Who said he's running away? Maybe she's running towards something you can't possibly understand.

luz: I know I can't just "poof" my problems.

Lilith: (In a lighter tone, holding Luz's shoulders to her left.) But we can. Getting caught was clearly a cry for help. Join the Emperor's Coven, as we dreamed of as children. Help give that child the opportunity to be someone his family can be proud of.

Luz: Eda wanted to be in the Emperor's Coven?

Unknown Voice: Draven too, until they both learned the truth and tried to oppose them, before the end. A story for another day.

Lilith: Don't be afraid, sister. Soon, you will not be a danger to those around you. Take out the branded glove.

Summons rings of light that secure Luz to the chair.

Luz: What now?

Unknown voice: a branded glove. It is an item that converts witches to the coven whose symbol is engraved on it. Voluntary or not. I would start doing something if I were you.

A guard dons a glove with the sigil of the Emperor's Coven on the palm. The sigil glows red. He tosses the table aside and cracks his knuckles. Despite this, they hear the sounds of the battle getting closer and closer.

Luz: Wait, you're making a mistake! (Draws a large circle of spells.) I'm not a danger to anyone! (She realizes what he did.) Uh-oh.

Unknown Voice: Oh yeah.

A wall of the compound explodes.

Luz: (Coughs.) Owlbert, come to me!

Owlbert hoots, flies through the door.

Luz: huh? Oh! (Grunts as Owlbert punches him in the face; gets to his feet.) Sorry, mate. (She frees Owlbert.) Eda's life is more complicated than she thought.

Unknown voice: understatement of the day. At least Owlbert is on time. Now move. You have entrees and they are just as unhappy as the Coven.

Luz runs through the hole in the wall. Lilith stands up, her hair mussed. Lilith growls and then sees a small red and white beast burst through the building with the Crimson Empyrean stepping on its tail.

Luz: lincoln! Are you OK! What happened to you?!

Lincoln's body appears to be some sort of endoskeleton, a deep red, almost black, layer of magic enveloping him. This body has ten tails, bears draconic features, and has a skeletal structure in an almost complete state throughout its body that are attached to it by energy ligaments, but the outer bones seem to serve as armor.

"Lincoln"; (mixed voice) Less talking, more running! These demon hunters were hired by the same man who hired us six. We need King and Ed now!

Luz: (Running) Okay, if I were Eda and Eda was King, where would I be? Oh! This thing is so confusing.

Lilith: After her!

Luz walks back, looking at Lilith and the guards. The Crimson Empyrean flies up and the beast gets out of the way of her, making her go through an alley while "Lincoln" fights back forcing them to cross the entire city. Knocking on a window makes Luz look forward. She's in the kitty cafe.

Kitty Cafe, Bonseborough, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Present

Eda: Luz! Bring my fucking body here. Did you find Lincoln and Amity?

Luz: Eda! And something like that?

Roselle: Oh look, Dottie. It's not kidnapping if they entered our store. Just think of it as good customer service.

Outside, Luz draws a spell circle. The lamp next to the women grows legs and several other lamp heads. Luz enters.

Roselle: Why did our lamp get unnecessarily extravagant?

"Lincoln": Has quippe innocentes inviti tenetis, ac vero instinctu privamus. (smashes open from the back looking rather feral along with a group of transformed animals, just as transformed as he is and wearing more... fitting attire.)

The women turn back around and see Eda helping King, wearing a blue volunteer shirt, through the hole. Everyone makes eye contact. Luz and King gasp. Eda staring frightfully at "Lincoln"

Eda: There.

"Lincoln": Vale.

Luz: Go, go, go!

They all run, followed by the beasts who scatter.

Roselle: (Gasps.) After them!

Dottie shrieks and holds up a net. Luz, King, Eda and "Lincoln" arrive on Main Street, the latter splitting off, where everything seems to be in chaos, Two streaks of energy; one of tainted light and the other dark clash above them.

Luz: What weird stuff did you get my body into?

"Lincoln": Bosch is challenged to a race of ratworms.

Lilith: There she is.

The four-headed dog barks at them, yet grows fearful of "Lincoln" in the skies aove.

Eda: I got the same question.

"Lincoln": (Amity's voice) He gave his seat, and caught himself, almost noticing, before he opened the joint that had literally been shot.

Boscha, Skara, Amelia, and the Oracle student fly in on their boots.

King: Dang! I forgot about them.

Eda: All right. Did everybody learn a valuable lesson about experiencing each other's hardships?

King and Luz: Yep.

"Lincoln": I already knew.

Eda: Good, let's end this nightmare. (Takes her staff.) Body swap!

Everyone returns to their own bodies. Eda is still wearing the bee costume, though it immediately rips off through the sudden change in size. King is still in the volunteer shirt and Luz takes off the oven mitts.

King: My body! My glorious little body!

"Lincoln" however is still in the same state and is now howling at anyone that tries to get too close to his pack, the magic seeming to drive him into a further frenzy, making him grow taller than the buildings, attacking anything that moves. Liberty appears again and he lunges at her, running towards Dead Man's Curve.

Lilith: Sister. Time and again I've offered you my help, yet you foolishly run back to your worthless life. I'm tired of trying, Edalyn. Your days of running are over! Let me help the child, give him the future you so stubbornly refuse to accept!

Eda: Thanks, Luz.

Luz: Sorry.

Eda: Don't worry, I got this. Body swap!

She spins her staff and directs the beam at everyone while Luz and King duck.

Lilith: (As the dog, barking.) Eda, you rotten sister! Switch me back! Ah! (Barks.)

Guard #1: (In Roselle's body.) What's happening? Who the heck are you?

Guard #2: (In Dottie's body.) I'm a Coven guard, wise mouth.

Guard #1: No, you're not. I am!

Roselle: (In the Oracle student's body.) You get outta my body, you galoot!

Guard #2: Fight! Ow. My knees.

Someone in Boscha's body: Hey! Ow!

Someone in the body of a guard: This is your fault. Let go! My arm! Ow!

Guard #1 screams. General mayhem ensues.

King: Are they gonna be okay?

Eda: Eh?

Luz: Eda, I just wanna say that things can be more complicated than you think. But with you guys, it all feels a little less mixed up.

Eda: Aw, that's sweet, kid. Now, let's never speak of this again. Where's Lincoln and Amity by the way?

SLASH

As if to answer her question, a ringing slashing sound can be heard above them as all look to see something monstrous stopped dead in its tracks before splitting in two, each half reverting to a human form. Owlbert hoots as he unfurls his wings. Everyone who was body swapped clamors as Eda, Luz, and King fly toward one of the bodies, grabbing it along the way duing their escape. The dog, in Lilith's body, howls while as a dirtied Crimson Empyrean watches them depart, amused with the chaos unfurling before her. The other body almost hits the ground before someone catches them.

The man looks upon the victim to reveal a heavily wounded Amity, now wearing a garb similar to Lincoln's and showing fading markings on her skin appearing dark and ritualistic, burning with shadowy energy. Her savior turns in the direction of Blight Manor and begins jumping across town to her home.

Boiling Isles Skyline, Demon Realm

Dusk

Cut to Eda, Luz, King flying in front of the moon with a wounded Lincoln coming to.

Eda: (nudges) Lincoln? Are you okay?

Lincoln: (groans) Hrnnh. Five more minuites, Mom. (blinks) Eda? Luz? What's going on? Why are we flying?

King: You don't remember? You swapped bodies with Amity and the next time we see you, you were covered in blood and acting like a feral demon. You were more unhinged than back in the convention center.

Lincoln: (eyes widen, then somberly looks down.) No... Not again. I didn't hurt anyone, didn't I?

The trio exhange looks and shake their heads.

Luz: (places a hand on his shoulder) No, Lincoln. Whatever that was back there wasn't you. The brother I know of would never intentionally hurt a fly.

Eda: (mentally) And yet he lost control yet again, almost completely giving in to something far

Lincoln: (smiles and transform Caliburn into its board form) Thanks for that, Luz. It would seems that Amity and I have far more in common than I originally thought. It almost felt like we almost the same person, sharing memories, thoughts and pain. I only hope that she's okay.

Luz gives an uneasy look as they head back home. Eda however notices the scarf that Amity had taken now given to Lincoln, a scarf that brings up painful memories.

Luz: So, wait. Who is going to clean Hooty? It's getting... dire.

The Owl House, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Cut to the Owl House, where Hooty is even dirtier than before.

Hooty: Guys? Today's my monthly cleaning. Hoot, hoot. I'm 20% mucus, but don't let that stop you. C'mon, I have so many hard-to-reach spots that need swabbing!

Cut back to the four flying.

Luz: Maybe if we all work together we could—

Eda, Lincoln and King: Not it.

Luz: Aw, man.

Amity's Room, Blight Manor, Bonesborough, Right Arm, Boiling Isles, Demon Realm

Nighttime

After "Amity" turned out to be a failed abomination experiment posing as her, an conclusion made by Alador, the twins discovered their younger sister laid to rest on her bed, forever changed, but alive. A letter bearing the symbol of an unknown house was found on her nightstand.

Dear House of Ruby,

If you can read this message, then that monster spotted over Bonesburg was slain by my hand. Believing that the lives of others were easier than her own, Noctua performed a body-swapping song between herself, man and beast, and Amitas and the foreigner were bent on this, confirming their errant behavior. Almost immediately the problems started. nocturnes in the case in which the errant were "discovered" by their own and were soon robbed of their multiple thinking skills.

The beast stole the trilops from the attendants, and being challenged to the account, which he lost, and was afterwards driven away by the friends of friendship. The human used the new body magic tricks, attracting the attention of the League's emperor and Lady Ravena. The sister was almost burnt out and interrupted the beast. As you already know by now, your new friend will soon understand how the House of Crimson works from the inside and how your father supports the Abomination of the Covenant in his own way.

I'm sure both of you have noticed that the big red/dark rainbow vat of material is now empty. In time you will know what the truth is. His conscience and soul were far superior to the matriarch's body, as was his friendship to be handled properly, causing it to literally crumble away. Odalia was called "his" and what she said awakened something dark in her psyche, because the darkness was manifested in that monster. About Friendship... do you remember the demon hunters from your Moonlight plot? The worm Empyreus hired them to reach the strangers that night.

She was ordered by her master to "bring" him into the Emperor's Coven, or kill him if he proved difficult to control or persuade. Like himself, he had his own problem. The spirit of friendship was too unprepared for the body of raw power, and it strove vigorously to expel the spirit from the danger of corruption. To name two other voices in the head, one friendly, the other sadistic. The first voice of friendship told of this information, which might possibly distort the plans laid.

The monster finds her, they arrive at Bonesburg, and they return to their original forms and bodies. When I was defeated, the night owl rescued me while I returned to your sister's loving embrace. Know that there is no harm to you, your sister, your home, or your friends. Our desires are only to break false faith, and to attend to yours. We will say it again. Please read this letter to avoid the risk of prosecution.

Sincere,

Paladinus

Upon finishing the reading the letter, Emira moves the letter above a lit candle and destroyed any evidence leading to its writer.

Edric: Sis, what does all this mean? Amity... I mean Lincoln, Dad's project, that... Vermillion Demon.

Emira says nothing, gazing upon her sleeping younger sister.

Emira: I don't know Ed. But I think there is far more to our white haired friend than we realized, and Amity somehow knows this. Back at the convention center, it seemed that Lincoln was actually trying to kill Mittens during the Witch's Duel, like he lost control of himself. And during the Moonlight Conjuring, since when can a ordinary witch commune with the land itself? One way or another, we need to find answers and I think this... "Paladin" may provide us with them if he couldn't.

Emira: (shakes her head) I don't know. This is way too much to think about this late. Let's get to bed before Mom gets on our case again.

The two leave her room. But as they blow out the candle and close door, drowning the light in the dark, someone appears in its place, the same man that saved Amity from her fall, who welcomed the Singularity Homunculi into the fold, who traveled to the true Celestial Lake and gave Lincoln Caliburn in the Conformatorium's hidden vault.

The Paladin: (speaks aloud) So now you know the whole story. A gamble of minds and bodies, a forced transferrence, realization and accpetance, instability and hidden madness, and a hidden voice that connects the five threads together. My voice. I am so glad that you decided to take up my offer, young ones.

From where the entrance to Amity's room once was, now stands a more open space with Skara, Amelia and the two other students, their minds having been returned to their original bodies by the Crimson Empyrean once she was done having her laughs. Clearly moved by "Lincoln's" show of strength at the Treasure Shack. Each of them have decided to take up her offer behind Boscha's back. When embraced by dreams, they just now awakened with the man sitting in an illusion of their friend's room, waiting for them.

Skara: It's like Lincoln said, we should give you a chance, see the kind of person. Speaking of the Dragonborn, where is he?

The Paladin: (looks at Amity) Oh, he is far closer than you think, probably listening in on our coversation as we speak. Now then, Lincoln spoke of a means of finding purpose you feared to find lest you invoke Boscha's ire. (looks back to them) But she isn't here now, is she?

Amelia: (nervously nods) Right, you asked us to come here and we did. But we aren't idiots, what exactly do you want from us?

The Paladin: (smiles under his mask) Smart girl. Nothing regarding a price too steep to pay, Amelia. I only ask for your alliance to our prestigious order, much like the Covens, sans the brand. We will call on you when we need. Otherwise, you will be left alone.

Oracle Student: Do you think we have a choice? If he was able to pull us out here, he should be able to put us back. Imagine what we kind of games we can play against those conformists! The possibilities are endless!

The Paladin: (lighter tone) Ohoh! You want more games you say?

All: Huh?

The Paladin: Well please do not bore, for we have tons and tons and tons of infinite fun! If you want more games to play, venture to lands. All you have to do... is to take my hand.

All: (deeply ponder before giving a dumb expression) Yeah, sure!

Each of them places one of their hands on his hands and bright light engulfs them.

The Paladin: The pact is sealed.

Lincoln / Amity suddenly awakens and looks around his/her room. Half of them feels relieved that their back in their own beds, but the other half gets the feeling of jamais vu.

Lincoln / Amity: What was that just now? (looks down at his/her hands then his/her neck) Why do I look and sound strange?

He/She shakes his/her head and head out of his/her room. Lincoln/Amity is surprised to see that his/her home seems to be mixed with that the Blight Manor/some weird house. Given the mixed up layout of the place. Finding his/her way through its halls prove to be more difficult than expected. Eventually, Lincoln/Amity evetually reach a bathroom and close the door. He/She gazes upon the mirror to find a rather odd sight. On one hand, his/her reflection looks identical to the genuine article. But on the other hand, there is something about it that just feels... off. Like he/she is looking at himself/herself while seeing someone else at the same time.
