The Masquerade Ball came and Alexandra was excited to attend with Caroline. She had decided on a slim black dress and ankle stiletto boots that were comfortable to walk around, contrasting with Caroline's red dress, their masks had the colors of their dresses inverted. Damon was in attendance, standing in a corner with Mason, Alaric and Jenna, while Elena and Stefan were on the other side of the packed house.

Alexandra danced with Tyler, Matt and even with Stefan, she was having the fun of her life, but she knew that she needed to keep an eye on Elena, this was her shot to meet with an Original, she found Matt and told him to find and entertain Stefan for a while. Matt was trusting Alexandra enough to get Stefan involved in a game of pool with Tyler while Alexandra saw that Caroline was distracted with Bonnie which left Elena alone.

The two girls made their way out of the party, they began walking as Elena thanked Alexandra for dealing with Katerina.

"Hey, what are friends for?" Alexandra asked softly, "I'm still a little mad with Bons, but i'm sure that once we sit and have a talk we'll be fine."

"Yeah, I'm sure, thanks for taking me out here, It's been crazy lately," Elena said, Alexandra smiled at her as she queued a text to Tyler.

"Tell me about it,"

Alexandra was about to say something when she dropped her phone and the last thing she felt was a cloth on her face.

She woke up several hours later, as predicted Elena was unconscious next to her and Trevor was hovering over them.

"Back off dude, it's creepy," Alexandra said as she tried to move the ropes that bound her.

"A spitfire," Trevor said turning his attention to her, Alexandra rolled her eyes at him.

Elena took that moment to wake up and backed up on the couch as Trevor approached her.

"Trevor!" Rose called as she entered the room, "control yourself."

"Buzzkill, we have a spare, I could have a snack," he grumbled.

"What do you want with me?" Elena asked, Alexandra rolled her eyes and shushed her.

"Be nice Elena, these kind people kidnapped us, they won't just answer your questions," Alexandra hissed.

"But?"

"Not the moment," Alexandra warned, Elena sighed in defeat and nodded.

Alexandra returned her gaze to Rose and raised an eyebrow at the vampire.

"That's a neat trick," Rose said, Alexandra smiled at her.

"I'm a Salvatore, I'm full of neat tricks, but for everyone's sake here, Elena and I will play nice poor kidnapped victims," Alexandra said with a sweet smile.

"A Salvatore?" Rose asked interested, Alexandra nodded.

"The baby of the family, literally," she said with an easy grin.

"Any relation to Stefan and Damon?" Rose asked.

"They're my uncles, although Uncle Damon is my legal guardian now," Alexandra explained.

"You'll play nice, or I'll feed you to Trevor," Rose warned, Alexandra and Elena nodded.

"We'll be angels," Alexandra promised.

Rose nodded and left. Trevor walked in moments later and untied them, Alexandra asked him for a deck of cards, which surprisingly he had and Alexandra and Elena spent the next few hours playing poker.

Tyler received a suspicious text from Alexandra next morning and he did the logicall things and went to the boarding house, a scruffy Damon answered the door.

"Alexandra and Elena got kidnapped last night," Tyler said, Damon blinked a few times.

"Alexandra did what now?" Damon asked, suddenly wondering why he even bothered.

"I got a text this morning, I came as soon as I could, after I found her phone in my driveway," Tyler said and Damon noticed that the boy was wearing pajamas, he pulled the teen into the house and closed the door, "She sent me, and I quote, getting kidnapped by zealots with Elena, tell Damon and Stefan to come get us before we become vampire chowder, winky face."

Damon ran a hand through his face and groaned, "can you go get Bonnie?"

"Sure, I'll be right back, can you cover for me at school?"

"Yeah, I'll phone Alaric," Damon said as Tyler walked out of the house, he went upstairs to Stefan's room, Stefan was just stepping out of the bathroom.

"Is something wrong?"

"Alexandra and Elena got kidnapped by zealots," Damon said, Stefa's eyes widened.

"How do you know?"

"Alexandra saw fit to send Tyler a text message, he's looking for Bonnie now," Damon said, Stefan growled.

"She's grounded," Stefan said.

"So grounded." Damon agreed.

"I'm so grounded," Alexandra said as she and Elena shared some fries.

"Why?" Elena asked, Alexandra shrugged.

"I got kidnapped with you, if I make it out of this alive, uncle Damon will never let me out of his sight, he's been protective lately," Alexandra said.

"I think its cute," Elena said, Alexandra raised an eyebrow at her.

"Careful there Elena, you got one brother, let the other live," Alexandra said, Elena looked at her surprised, "what you think I haven't noticed the looks that you've been giving Damon? I'm not blind."

"I love Stefan," Elena said, Alexandra snorted.

"And I'm sure he loves you too, which is good, he's happy and so am I, but if you bring Damon into your relationship I will not play nice," Alexandra warned her, "Katerina got between them once, now that they're finally okay again I won't let you ruin it."

"I don't want to, I… I just," Elena remained silent and Alexandra sighed.

"You're my friend Elena, I like you, but Damon and Stefan? They're my family."

The next few hours passed slowly, they received Bonnie's message and Elena seemed to be thinking about Alexandra's words while Alexandra was entertained by drawing in a notebook that Rose had gotten her, she was half decent with sketches and she was focusing on Elena.

"That's really good, I thought you quit when we began high school," Elena said as she watched the painting.

"I did, I dropped the class, I never stopped sketching, its calming," Alexandra answered, not lifting her head from the painting.

"I'm sorry," Elena said suddenly, Alexandra looked up, "you're right, I got so caught up in myself that I was beginning to play Damon and Stefan, I guess I liked the attention."

"It's okay, I guess, you noticed in time," Alexandra said, placing the notebook aside.

"But Damon never paid attention to me, not really," Elena said softly, Alexandra smirked.

"He's been busy making sure that I don't die, I can be a handful," Alexandra said.

Elena laughed and suddenly they were both laughing, their laughter stopped abruptly when Trevor walked into the room. Followed by Rose having a small panic attack. It seemed that Elijah had arrived. Rose exited the room and left Trevor with the girls. She walked in a couple of minutes later followed by Elijah.

The original vampire saw the two girls, one a dead ringer for Katerina and the other, the other seemed too amused for having been kidnapped by vampires. His attention returned to the Doppelganger and he approached her, he couldn't believe that the girl was human.

"Hello there," he murmured as he got close to her, the girl shrunk back into herself and he would have continued if not for the hand he felt on his shoulder.

"She's scared, god, what is it with you vampires and having no regards for one's personal space," the raven haired girl said as she slowly pushed Elijah back.

"And who might you be?"

"The friend that got accidentally kidnapped, wrong place wrong time kind of thing, Alexandra Salvatore," she said with a grin.

"I'm Elijah," he found himself saying, her grin grew.

"Cool, is it true that you're like this super old vampire? You don't look that old to be honest, but I bet you'd look better if you pushed your hair back, bangs are not your thing," she said and Elijah blinked several times.

"Are you always this talkative, miss Salvatore?"

"Only when I want to annoy uncle Damon," she answered, he smiled slightly at the girl and returned his attention to Rose-Marie and Trevor.

Trevor began apologizing for his betrayal and Elijah was honestly growing tired of if, with a quick slice of his palm he managed to behead the traitorous vampire.

"Headshot," he heard miss Salvatore murmur to the scared Doppelganger.

"Alexandra," the Doppelganger hissed elbowing the other girl.

Rose sighed before pulling both girls to the parlor, Elijah wanted to take both girls with him and Rose was happy to get rid of them, specially the Salvatore one. He was about to say something when they heard something moving in the house. And suddenly all hell broke loose .

"You are so grounded that you will be old and grey when I let you out of the house," Damon said as he walked Alexandra to the car, she huffed.

"It's not fair, I protected Elena from the vampires, uncle Stef ought to be happy," Alexandra said, Damon glared at her.

"Never at the cost of your own life, and texting Tyler? What were you thinking?" Damon asked.

"I was thinking that I wanted to meet an Original Vampire, I did, not a big deal, I also think that you killing said vampire ruined our plans to keep Elena alive by the end of the sacrifice," Alexandra said.

Damon stopped walking and looked at her, "are you sure all the roads lead to the sacrifice."

"The most we fight against it, the more bloody it is, as soon as I've begun thinking about helping it instead of preventing it the better the outcome, I won't risk you or uncle Stef, nor I will risk my life, I like living," Alexandra explained softly.

"So we help? How do you plan to do this?" Damon asked.

"I speak to Klaus, he will arrive to Mystic Falls, I'll talk to him, explain the curse to him, he'll agree to keep Elena safe and human," Alexandra assured him.

"How do you know that?"

"Witches are petty, Damon, and Klaus knows this," she said with a smile.

"Let it be known that I don't like this," Damon said, Alexandra smiled at him and took his hand in hers.

"You don't have to like it uncle D."
