When Link awoke, the first thing he noticed was the throbbing pain in the back of his head. He groaned as he slowly sat up, holding the back of his head. He slowly opened his eyes, noticing that his vision was somewhat blurred. 'What.. what happened?' He racked his mind for memories. 'I was in the spring.. With Colin, and Ilia.. Ilia took Epona again.. then…' He shook his head, hoping it would clear his vision, but to no avail. 'Ilia.. Ilia got shot!' He looked around the spring, frantically looking for any sign of Ilia, Colin, or Epona. The spring, however, was completely empty except for himself, and he staggered to his feet. After taking a moment to steady himself, he took off at a sprint out of the exit to the spring. 'If they were in the village, someone would've come to check on me by now, so they must have gone towards the forest.' Without a second thought he ran across the bridge, only barely noticing the sudden twilight.

Suddenly he found himself in front of an impossibly large wall, made up of a black tar-like substance with golden markings across it and at the edges of the cliff faces. He took a step back in shock. 'What.. what is this?!' Before he had time to process the sight or try to find another path to the forest, suddenly a long black arm stretched out from the wall and grabbed him by the chest, pulling him through the wall despite his struggling protests.

The next thing he knew, he was being dragged through an unusually chilly area, and brought to face a large creature with a broad flat face and pinkish-red markings all over its dark gray body. Despite his squirming, Link couldn't free himself from the creature's grasp as it stared at him. His heart thundered in his chest as the creature's grasp tightened around his throat. 'I.. I can't.. breathe... I.. I don't want to die!' He was only dimly aware of a burning sensation on his hand, his focus dedicated to gasping for air as the monster strangled him.

Suddenly there was a bright flash of light, and Link felt the monster throw him to the ground. He could breathe again, though he was incredibly weak from the suffocation and from the sudden landing on the ground. He struggled to get to his feet and get his bearings, but the exhaustion of fighting for his life had taken its toll. His vision pulsed, and suddenly the aches across his body intensified, and he began writhing at the sudden pain. All at once, the pain became too much to bear, and he let out a gut-wrenching scream before once again falling unconscious.

Once again, Link found himself waking up with a pounding ache in his skull. He shook his head to try and clear it, then opened his eyes. He gasped. 'What..' There was a shackle chained to his leg, and his legs had changed to.. paws? He examined what he could of himself, confused and scared. 'This.. this has to be a dream. A nightmare.' It was then that he fully noticed the gray bricks on the floor, and, looking up, the metallic bars in front of him. 'Where.. Where am I?'

It took him some moments to get used to the strange new body he found himself in. Gone was any ability to hold or grab things, gone was any ability to climb or even walk upright. Once he had oriented himself, he tried to walk towards the metal bars in front of him. 'This.. this is a jail cell.. isn't it. But why am I in a jail cell?' The shackle on his leg strained against his movements, much to his chagrin. 'Maybe I should try taking this thing off.' With that, he tried to use his new, sharper teeth to pry the chain off of his leg. Suddenly, he heard a faint sound, and turned to look at the source.

Floating on the other side of the jail cell bars was a strange creature, smirking at him. The creature had a stone helmet of some kind on its head, with tufts of orange hair poking out above the helmet. Its body was a dull gray, with pale white markings on its face and stomach, and eerie green markings on its ears, arms, and legs. As Link uneasily stared at the creature, it grinned and nodded at him, then jumped and disappeared, only to reappear on his side of the cell bars. He stared at the creature in shock and fear.

"I found you!" An ethereal and vaguely feminine voice rang out from the creature as she leaned closer to him. Link found himself growling, his tail tucked between his legs. The creature laughed.

"Oooh! Aren't you scary!" She laughed again. "Are you sure you want to be doing that? Snarling and glaring at me?" Link's demeanor did not change. 'I don't know who or what you are, or what you want with me. But I don't trust you.'

"Well, that's too bad…" It was as if she heard his thoughts. "I was planning on helping you… if you were nice." He blinked in surprise, and slowly stopped growling. His tail was still tucked between his legs. The creature laughed again.

"That's much better! You humans are obedient to a fault, aren't you?" Suddenly she was right by his face.

"Oops! But you AREN'T a human anymore, are you?" She lightly smacked Link's jaw, as if to emphasize her point. "You're a beast!" She laughed again, and Link once again began glaring at her. 'I don't appreciate you mocking me.' She began to rest her hand on his jaw, and he found himself snapping and biting at her, prompting her to effortlessly leap back, laughing.

"There, there. You be a good boy and calm down. No need to bite!" Her confident smirk countered Link's angry and fearful snarl. After a few moments, she closed her eyes and began to hold her hands together, and suddenly a red orb of hissing sparks formed between her palms. Throwing her hands apart, she sent the orb flying towards Link, who flinched, expecting it to strike him. Instead, however, he found that the orb had somehow severed the chain connected to the shackle on his leg. 'I'm.. I'm free.' The creature laughed, and suddenly appeared in front of his face again.

"You look kind of surprised!" She leapt back again before Link could react, landing next to the jail cell door. She jumped again, her body separating into bubbles of some kind that flew easily between the bars of the cell door.

"So! I bet you're wondering, where exactly are we?!" With a spin, the bubbles reformed into her body on the other side of the door, and she smirked at Link.

"Well, I'll make you a deal. If you can get over here, maybe I'll tell you!" She laughed again, then beckoned him to come through the door and yawned, as if bored. Link took some moments to process what all had just happened. It was then that he noticed the creature's hair had gone from a few orange tufts to a glowing orange hand that was also beckoning him forward. At first, Link tried to push the door open, but he found that it refused to budge. It was then that he noticed the old crates nearby the door, propped up next to a hole in the bars. 'Maybe this will let me get through.'

He destroyed the crates, revealing a hole underneath the bars, which he dug through and found himself on the other side of the bars. He shook off as much of the dirt as he could from his body, and he heard the echoing laughter of the creature, who had suddenly disappeared. He looked around, but was unable to find her, and a feeling of unease grew in his stomach.

Suddenly something landed on his back, and he reared up at the impact and began snapping and barking at whatever was on his back. The creature's voice rang out.

"Hmph! I guess you're not completely stupid after all!" She patted him on the shoulder as he snarled up at her. 'Get. Off. Of. My. Back.' Instead, she leaned roughly onto his upper back.

"Listen, I like you, so I think I'll get you out of here." Link would have scoffed had he still been human. 'Gee, what a compliment.' The creature grabbed onto his ear, pulling it back towards her. She spoke directly into his ear.

"But in exchange for my help, you have to do EXACTLY as I say!" Link snarled, but somewhere in the back of his mind those words struck some kind of bizarre chord. She released his ear and poked into Link's other shoulder.

"If you need anything from me, just bark to give me a sign!" Her voice had become authoritative, and a memory almost bubbled up from the miasmatic swirling vortex of his mind.

"So, are we all clear? Good. Now, come on! Get moving!" She nudged an ankle into Link's side, and in response Link snarled up at her, baring his teeth. After a few moments, the creature went back to a typical sitting position on Link's back. He took some time to get accustomed to his surroundings. The walls, ceiling, and floors were all dark and light gray bricks, with some dirt or hay scattered in some places. There was a door leading to somewhere, but it looked to be solidly locked. Link stood for a moment, pondering his options. Evidently this bored the creature, as she patted his shoulders as if to spur him into motion. In part to spite her, he stood still for another few moments before walking to the cell next to where he had been locked. To his surprise, this cell was open, and the door opened easily with a cautious nudge of his muzzle. Inside the cell was a large gate, as well as a chain dangling from the ceiling, with a large metallic ring at the end of it.

"Huh? What's that?" Link tried to scoff, only to make some sort of snorting noise. 'It's a chain, what does it look like?'

"Why don't you try jumping up and grabbing it?" Link eyed the chain suspiciously. 'It could be a trap.. Especially if you're so keen to have me touch it.' Though, remembering the barrenness of the other rooms, he realized he likely didn't have any other choice. He leapt up to grab the chain in his mouth, trying to ignore the unpleasant metallic taste, and to his surprise his weight dragged the chain down. As it clanked to its lowest position, the small gate to his left lifted, revealing a narrow path. To where, Link couldn't tell. Jumping down from the chain, he was satisfied to see that the gate stayed open, and he ran through to see what was on the other side.

He found himself in a winding path of bricks, with a couple of gates in some of the openings, before finally there was an unblocked opening, which he leapt through. As he landed, he noticed a strange teal light floating in the corner. 'What.. is this?'

"Oh… Well, well…" The creature laughed. "Want to see something interesting?" After a pause, as if she expected him to respond, she continued. "You're a beast, remember? Hone your senses and poke around!" For a moment, Link was unsure of what the creature even meant. The words, though, had struck another chord with Link, triggering something within his mind.

'Instincts. Nose. Senses.' It wasn't a voice in his head as much as a series of images and vague feelings. The suddenness made him take a step away from the floating light. 'Nose. Instincts.' This time the images felt more insistent and urgent, though he wasn't sure exactly how. He found himself stepping closer to the light, sniffing slightly at the floor near where it was floating. In an instant, an image flooded his mind, of a man in armor shivering in fear as he held onto a spear for support.

"Huff… Huff… Can't… run… any… farther… That's… far enough… right? I'll be safe here… I think…" The man's voice was hoarse and panicked, between the rasping gasps of air he sucked in. Suddenly his head turned towards the wall, as if he saw some intruder. "What was that noise?! Don't… Don't anything come near me!" In a panic, he looked frantically to his left and right, and then continued shivering as he held onto his spear.

Just as quickly as the image came to his mind, it faded away again. Link was taken aback. 'I… didn't know I could do that.' For some moments he studied the area around the floating light, wondering if there were actually any intruders. Then he began walking away.

"That was a soldier's spirit." Link blinked in surprise. 'Spirit? So.. is he dead?' Then the other notable word in the sentence struck him. 'Wait, soldier? Where am I, that there's soldiers walking around?' "Maybe it's someone from the other world?" The creature laughed, and Link could only tilt his head in his confusion. 'Other world? What other world?'

"There are lots of other spirits roaming about here, you know. Hone your senses to see them. They might know things…" Link looked around the immediate area. 'How many people died, for that many spirits to be wandering around?' It was then that Link noticed the change in how the area was constructed. Rather than simple walls, floors, and ceilings, the area he now stood in had a raised platform to the left and a lower area to the right that had water idly flowing in no particular direction. As he made his way across the raised platform and jumped onto another which had an open gate to the left, he suddenly heard the sound of something paddling through the water towards him. In the direction of the noise, he saw a strange shadowy monster, wading through the shallow water towards him. 'What.. is that thing?' The monster made no efforts to jump up onto the platform where Link stood, but he growled at the monster all the same. It began wading away once more, and while Link would have been content to leave the disturbing monster alone-

'Chase. Attack.' This set of feelings and images was harder for Link to ignore than the previous two were. Somewhere in his mind, a part of him wanted to chase after the shadowy monster and attack it. It was so strong of a want that he was startled to find himself jumping down into the water and chasing after the monster. Before the monster could even turn around to see him, Link was pouncing at the monster and sinking his fangs into its body. He had anticipated - expected, even - some kind of taste to fill his mouth, whether it be of flesh or fur or blood. But instead the monster just dissipated into nothingness, as if it had never been there at all. 'What.. what was that thing?' The creature on his back offered no guidance. She was content to just observe what Link did.

Continuing down the path where the monster had run down, Link saw another chain and ring. This chain, however, was much further away from the ground than the first was. 'Hm.. I don't know if I can make that jump..' The creature on his back nudged her heels into his sides again, startling him into a jump, and he was surprised to find himself hanging onto the ring by his teeth. 'How.. how did I do that?' He leapt down from the ring and onto the raised platform, idly watching the gate on a ledge rise away to reveal a path.

'Ally. Hand. Magic.' Link was uncertain of how to interpret the feelings and images this time. There were certainly images of the strange creature on his back and her even more strange hair that was sometimes a large pink hand, though he wasn't sure why the images had a strong feeling of the creature being an ally. 'Magic hand hair aside.. She's not my ally. I don't even know her name! I don't even know what she wants with me!'

'Ally. Help.' Link would have frowned, were he still human. As it were his expression instead became something of a soundless growl. 'Why would she pick me as an ally? And to help with what?' The images and feelings did not have an answer, evidently. Link leapt up onto the ledge and followed the path, only to be disappointed when it only had a small crate. He huffed. 'Even if there was anything in here.. I don't have hands to grab anything with, nor do I have pockets to put anything into.' He left the ledge path and continued on the raised platform, back to the opened gate. To his relief, when he missed a jump from platform to platform, he was able to scramble up to where he'd intended to jump, and he was soon walking through the open gate.

"I doubt you're used to your new body yet, so I'll just tell you… Think about how you fought enemies in your human form… Just because your shape has changed doesn't mean your instincts have as well!" Link considered the creature's point. 'Instincts, huh?' Not far in front of him was another chain with a ring. Before he could even ponder whether he could make the jump to the chain, another set of images and feelings filled his mind.

'Ally. Magic. Trust.' The more it happened, the more Link was able to understand and interpret it. 'How can I trust her? She shows up after I was knocked out and turned into this, acting smug as if she had something to do with it all, and I'm supposed to trust her?'

'Choice?' The implication with the feeling this time was clear: Link didn't have a choice but to trust her. He grimaced, or at least the closest canine equivalent to a grimace. He leapt again into the air, and again despite the distance between himself and the chain he easily found his jaws clamped onto the ring. To his right, a gate clanked open, revealing another small path in the wall. He leapt up to follow it, only to find another of the shadow monsters at the end, idly gnawing at a large skull. With a quick pounce, the shadow monster dissolved into nothingness like its brethren.

As he leapt down from the path and into the water, he found himself landing on top of another shadow monster, which dissipated upon the impact. Continuing to the right, he was alarmed to find a row of spikes jutting up from the floor in the only direction that likely led forward. He paused in the intersection, looking over his options, when he noticed a thick metal door to the left with another chain and metal ring. 'I wonder what that one will do…' He climbed up onto the platform nearest to the chain, and, when he was close enough, made another leap up to grab the ring.

Next to him, the metal door began rising, and a new torrent of water flowed from the gap under the door, raising the water level in the area. 'Oh! I should be able to swim over those spikes now!' He winced slightly at the sudden cold of the water touching his ankles, in that moment grateful for his current form's fur coat. He took a running leap into the water over the spikes, and almost immediately began to shiver somewhat. If the water at his ankles was cold, the water around his body was almost frigid. Nevertheless, he paddled his way over the spikes and onto the platform on the other side, where another shadow monster was waiting. Just as with the others, a pounce was enough to vanquish the monster, despite that pounce sending him back into the water that threatened to chill him to his bones. He took the time to shake off as much of the water as he could, hoping it would warm him up in some way.

As he continued along, he noticed another floating teal light - another spirit. Again he sniffed at where the spirit stood, and an image of a terrified soldier filled his mind.

"What are these black things… Where are they coming from…" Link felt himself tilt his head to one side. 'They can see those shadow monsters too?'

"And how do we get out of here?!" Link huffed. 'I'm trying to find that out too…' The image faded, and Link was left standing near another intersection. Out of curiosity, he walked in the direction of the path behind the terrified soldier, seeing another set of metal bars in the distance. Suddenly, the weight on his back was gone, and the strange creature was floating away as a set of bubbles once more, only to reappear in her typical body on the other side of the bars. Her hair once again became the strange glowing hand, beckoning him to the other side of the bars.

"This way! Over here!" Link huffed again. 'That's hardly fair, I can't do what you just did.' The creature smirked at him.

"I'll be waiting for you, but you'll have to help yourself for a change!" Link growled slightly, only for a moment. 'For a change, she says. As if she's been carrying me around like some little kid.'

'Hand. Magic.' He snorted, ignoring the odd feeling in his nose. 'So she helped me reach a couple of chains. So what.'

'Foot. Chain. Magic.'

'Hmph. Whatever.' With that, Link turned in the opposite direction and swam to another set of platforms, where he noticed a chain nearby an open path. As with the other dangling chains, he went to leap up at the ring... only to fall splashing into the water. As if the monsters themselves were mocking him, one snuck up behind him while he was getting back onto steady ground and landed an attack, sinking its teeth into his side for a brief moment. He yelped in pain and scrambled away, before pouncing at the monster and tearing it apart with his own teeth. Try though he might, he couldn't see any physical wounds on his body where the monster had attacked, though the area still hurt dimly. 'Let's see if there's anything else I can try…'

Running closer to the end of this particular path, Link found another of the metal doors and another soldier's spirit. A brief sniff brought an image into his mind of a soldier cowering in the corner, shaking hysterically.

"What are these black monsters… I've never seen anything like them…" Wincing at the memory of the monster's teeth slicing into his side, Link turned and saw another ring on a chain. With a leap, he jumped at the chain and easily found his jaw clamped onto the ring. 'Hah! I told you!' He wasn't entirely sure who the "you" was, however. As he weighed down the chain, the large metal door to his right slowly rose, and the excess water was siphoned away to somewhere else. He ran back towards the first chain ring, this time his jump allowing him to reach his target, and a second later a small gate in the wall opened. Two of the shadow monsters leapt out at Link, and while he caught the second in his mouth and slew it, the second flew past him into the once again shallow water, and with a targeted jump it struck him on the back, causing him to lose his balance and fall into the shallow water as he yelped again in pain. In vengeance, Link caught the monster in his mouth and threw it into the wall, where it disappeared in the same way as its brethren. He panted, now feeling weaker and in much more pain. He slowly clambered back up onto the platform where he had opened the gate in the wall, taking extra time to catch his breath thanks to his exhaustion. Then, after a few moments, he climbed up into the path in the wall only to find that it had only contained the two shadow monsters. Huffing, he jumped back out and cautiously ran to another corridor, which had another chain with a ring.

Despite his injuries, he thankfully still was able to successfully grab the ring in his jaws, and a moment later the gate in the wall next to him slid open. This time, he was more suspicious of the path that opened, warily eying the area before climbing up into the smaller corridor, only to again be ambushed by two shadow monsters. This time though he was much more cautious, backing out of the corridor through the wall so he had more open space to maneuver in. He growled as one of the monsters drew closer, but waited for it to be in a position where the second wouldn't be able to immediately clamp its teeth onto him if he attacked the first. Finally, he saw his opening, and pounced at the first shadow monster and quickly ducked away as the second lunged at him. Right as the second landed where he had just been, he pounced again, and at last the two shadow monsters disappeared into mist.

He found himself whining slightly, from the pain of the two times he'd been attacked by the shadow monsters, as he sat down and pondered where to go. Having no other ideas, he walked back to where the strange creature was still waiting and beckoning him. He huffed indignantly. As he glanced around the area, he suddenly found a small hole in the wall nearby the bars, on the floor with the shallow water. 'Where does this lead to?' Suspiciously, he took slow steps as he crawled through the hole, until he found a small room cut into the walls of wherever he was. Three skulls sat to one side, and on the other side was another of the spirits. His senses showed him an image of a soldier huddled against the wall, shaking in fear like the other spirits had been.

"Please… I am but a lowly soldier. Please… someone save me from these evil creatures…" The frightened soldier let out a whimpering cry of despair. As the image faded, Link turned around to realize that the room connected to where the strange creature was hovering and beckoning him. 'Well isn't that convenient.'

As soon as he made it to where she was, the weight was back on his back. He winced at the impact, fighting back the urge to whimper from the pain, and the creature laughed.

"Awww, did the detour tire you out, little wolf?" She paused. "By the way… Are you honing your senses like you should?" Though her tone only had the edge of authoritativeness, it was enough to prompt a portion of Link's tired mind to respond. 'Yes Ma'am- wait, what, why did I..?!' The creature on his back didn't seem to notice his sudden confusion.

"It looks like the spirits in here… They're all soldiers. Where in the world could we be?" She laughed again. 'Somewhere where there's soldiers, obviously.' Though Link couldn't deny that he was curious as to where they were. Suddenly the creature patted his shoulders.

"You want out of here, right? OK! We're off!" Link glanced around for a moment, to get his bearings. There was a large spiral staircase, though where it led to Link couldn't tell. Parts of the staircase had fallen or been destroyed, and ropes were tied between some parts as if to compensate for the gaps. There was a large metallic mesh over the hole in the roof, preventing all but a few stray beams of light from coming down. He glanced at the bottom of the stairs, where a pool of water had collected. Another of the shadow monsters was idly swimming through the water. A low growl began to form in his throat. While he would've liked to attack the monster, the two injuries he sustained earlier were enough to deter him from that thought. Instead, he ran up the stairs until he got to the first gap.

For some time he stared at the gap. 'There's no way I can make this jump, it's too far. Especially not with me being wounded.' He would've frowned were he still human. 'There doesn't seem to be any other way up, though.' He braced himself, and then made as large of a leap as he could. For a second it seemed he had made the jump, but then the part of the staircase he'd landed on crumbled away and he fell nearby the shadow monster. Scrambling to safety, he shook himself off, and the creature on his back tutted in disappointment.

"Ugh… What are you doing?" The exasperation in her voice was clear, and Link had to fight back to sudden urge to lay his ears back and whine. 'It's not my fault the stairs crumbled.' He resolved to try and make the jump again, to prove her wrong, to make her proud- 'Wait what?'

As he made it back up to where he had jumped from, he realized just how much the distance had increased. He huffed. 'The jump was barely possible before.. There's no way I could make this jump now.' Then he remembered her words some time earlier. 'Bark to give her a sign if I need help, eh?' Even the thought of asking her for help put an unpleasant taste in his mouth.

'Choice?' Again he huffed. 'Yeah yeah I get it, I don't have a choice. No need to rub it in.' Reluctantly, he let out a bark.

"I guess I have to do EVERYTHING for you…" At that, Link let out a low growl. 'Oh I'm sorry that I can't fly like you can.'

"Look, I'll show you all the small ledges, so just target me and jump to where I am!" Link blinked in surprise. 'So.. it's like a jump slash.'

In an instant, the weight was gone from his back, and she had floated some distance away, her hair-hand beckoning him over. 'Are you sure I can make this jump?'

'Magic. Trust.' Link snorted, but braced himself for the jump. He felt himself flying through the air towards the strange creature, and before he could react the ground beneath his feet began to crumble, and he leapt away again. He panted as he made it onto the next steady ledge. 'That.. that actually worked.'

'Trust.' He fought back a growl. 'Hylia's sakes, and I thought she was annoying…' He climbed up the ledge, easily jumping over a couple small gaps, before he came to a large stone that must have fallen from somewhere else in the staircase. 'I don't see any other way to get around this…' He barked again for the creature's help. He blinked and she had moved from his back to floating above the stone, and this time he didn't hesitate to follow her lead. Then she moved to a ledge high above the stone, and while he wanted to hesitate and judge the distance, his fear of the stone crumbling won out and he leapt up after her. He stopped to pant in exhaustion once he reached the ledge. 'How.. how is this even possible..'

'Magic.' As he climbed up the stairs, he noticed one of the ropes was attached to the side of the ledge. Glancing down in curiosity, he saw that the only thing the rope led to was a smaller ledge lower down, with another shadow monster crawling around it. 'Yeah… that's going to be a no.' He continued up the stairs, only to find a shadow monster gnawing on a skull. Thankfully, he had the advantage of surprise, and with a pouncing lunge the shadow monster was slain.

He climbed up the stairs for some time, before coming to the end of the ledge. There was another rope attached to the ledge, though this one seemed to also attach to another ledge higher up. He breathed in, and then let out an exhale. 'Okay.. Focus. Whatever you do.. just don't look down.' With that, he placed a cautious paw onto the rope, and then another, until he was nervously shuffling across the rope paw by paw. He let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding in once he reached the other side and was back on stable ground. He was almost grateful when he reached another gap and had to bark for the strange creature's aid.

Once more she floated away to a far ledge, and this time Link didn't even allow himself to hesitate or question the possibility of him making the jump. He just followed her across the ledges until he finally reached the other side, which he noticed had metal bars along the side. He also noticed that the metal mesh he'd seen from below was above him, and it was actually a metal grate. He slowly walked up until he was standing on the grate, cautiously placing his paws so that they wouldn't slip into one of the gaps. There was a single wooden door, between two stone pillars, and above him he heard the sound of keese flapping their wings. As he looked up, however, he realized that these were more like the shadow monsters he'd dealt with below.

Suddenly the shadow keese were in front of him, screeching in his face. He growled, cautiously avoiding them until he had an opening. One of the shadow keese flew closer while the other two hung back, and he jumped forward and caught the keese in his mouth. Much like the shadow monsters below, the shadow keese simply dissolved into nothingness, without even leaving any kind of taste in his mouth. He didn't have time to ponder how weird that was, however, as the two remaining shadow keese flew towards him. Remembering the strange creature's words, by instinct he let out a spin attack, which somehow was enough to defeat the other two shadow keese. He panted, grateful to have narrowly avoided another injury.

He looked around at his new surroundings, now that he wasn't being attacked by more shadow monsters. There was some rubble nearby a ledge that looked to be another staircase, and there were a couple of small boxes scattered around the area. 'That staircase is probably my best bet.' He climbed onto the rubble and barked for the strange creature's aid again.

"So… You know where we are yet?" She laughed. 'Nope. Not a clue.'

"Well… If you go to the top, you might figure it out!" Again she floated away to small ledges, and again Link leapt after her, until he found himself in a doorway. He sniffed the air. 'It smells.. Fresher. Maybe this door leads outside?' He continued through, and found himself standing on a ledge on the outside of a tower.
