Police, punishment AND BEES – Part one
Councillor Gadiel entered the teacher's lounge in Alfea, "Good morning, to you all. Ladies," The vampire greeted everyone and bowed deeply.
"Councillor Gadiel," Griselda greeted him friendly. "Already finished?"
"Of course, treated it like an express order, for free," Gadiel stated proudly as he side-glanced at Professor Palladium who drank his herbal tea unimpressed. "I also finished up the summary about the hilt. If you could forward it to Lunasteel." He approached Palladium and placed a beautiful wooden box with the hilt inside and a huge bundle of papers on the long table.
Palladium picked them up and placed them on his paper tower wordlessly. He was still pissed and immune to the bribes he had encountered these past days, like the two caskets of quality honey wine. He didn't even give the hilt a second glance.
Wizgiz hopped over he wanted to see the masterpiece, "Everything alright there, Palladium?" He snatched away the box and took the hilt out. He was too curious.
"I'm good, thanks for asking, very attentive and VIGILANT of you," Palladium answered Wizgiz with a warm voice pointedly stressing the vigilant.
Professor Avalon looked up from a student's paper, 'Ah, he's still salty…' Palladium had forgiven him. He wasn't one to hold grudges if one properly apologised. And after he had explained to Palladium what had happened he had settled down a lot.
"Again, I am very sorry for the discomfort I caused," Councillor Gadiel mumbled half loud.
"Oh?" Codatorta looked up from the name list Griselda had given him to compare with the name list from Red Fountain. "How did you manage to get Mister Sunshine all pissed?" He asked intrigued but got no answer. He looked to Avalon
"No comment," Avalon simply stated.
Codatorta broke out into laughter. "Oy, don't tell me you screwed up again, HA! Strike two…" he chuckled.
Palladium raised an eyebrow, "Again?"
"Coda…" Professor Avalon leaned back into his chair glaring at the drill master. "You said, you-"
Griselda shook her head, "Again indeed. Prodigies… Maybe you should go on a meditative voyage. You are overworked, Mister Paladin." Griselda smirked as Faragonda's second hand she of course knew of both accidents unlike most of the Professors.
"What?" Wizgiz raised an eyebrow, "Give the man some slack he is working hard these past weeks."
The Councillor nodded, "Yeah, we all were really busy."
Palladium shook his head, "Geeking out, no doubt… if you have time to scare students you should have the time to take care of them." He checked the disk for Blade's vitals. She was running her parkour at the moment, but all was good. She nearly was done with the route and was on the last meters actually.
"What more can I say, Professor? I am truly sorry for what happened with Blade. She seemed sturdy enough, besides I also helped her, didn't you hear?" Gadiel didn't get the reaction he hoped for at all. "How was I supposed to know…" The vampire rolled his eyes, Palladium wouldn't have his half-assed excuses. He wanted a real apology.
Professor Zyron finished his coffee, "Blade? Is she ill again? Do we need another conference meeting for her? She looked just fine to me. She's in high spirits as well, for the first time, since coming back from Phere-Moan." He looked confused at Avalon and then at Griselda.
"All good, our prodigy just didn't temper our wild Fairy and got sloppy," Griselda laughed. She found it hilarious, that Avalon was present on both occasions and still it had gone wrong. So often he was the saving grace around the school that it was hard to even imagine something going wrong when he was around.
Avalon sighed as all the other teachers were staring at him in disbelief, "Yes, yes, I know, I screwed up. Don't make me count your mistakes…" He said a bit salty. "I'm thirsty anyone else wants something to drink, water, juice?" He stood up there was no way he would win this battle, retreat was the better option before Gadiel would pull him into his mess of an apology.
Faragonda came through the door, "Councillor Gadiel." She curtsied shortly to greet him. "Avalon, I didn't hire you because you make no mistakes. I hired you because you don't do your mistakes twice." She chuckled. "I would take a tea," She answered his question as she stepped in. "The list looks good, Master Codatorta," she handed the Red Fountain list back.
Blade just passed through the school gates and slowed down. She was panting from all the running and bent and stretched as she bathed in the sun. 'Ahhh, still too slow…' She checked the time.
"Ms Blade," Professor Griselda waved her over to the window.
Blade stepped towards it, "Yes, Professor Griselda? How can I be of help?"
"Your sword hilt is ready," Wizgiz hopped to the window and threw it into her hands. "Truly a masterpiece, take good care of it."
Blade's eyes sparkled. The hilt looked really polished. The runes were all cleaned up and there were more rune rings now for different element sources. "Awesome…" She barely could contain her joy. She wouldn't dare to nerd out in front of all her Professors though.
"I would say so, too," Councillor Gadiel moved to the window. He smirked really proudly. "My apologies for what happened in Hoggar." He said casually.
"Councillor," Blade greeted him, "For what happened in Hoggar? Oh, that… yeah… not to worry. I was a bit too eager. Should have stopped sooner, that was my fault. No harm done."
"No, no, I should have noticed…" The Councillor sounded a bit dramatic and took the blame glancing at Palladium in the back.
"Again, not your fault. I should have known better. I miscalculated with the Charmix backlash. I neither want to nor do I plan to rely on my Professors to save me all the time. After all, once I get my hand on that Council list of yours, it's open hunting season," Blade grinned. She was half joking.
Councillor Gadiel was a bit perplexed and stared at Blade, "That doesn't sound very Fairy-like."
"Well, Fairies are people too. We have all the emotions just like any other person. We're not immune to obsessions or black magic. To be cautious and being able to estimate one's power, wasn't that the point of the demonstration?" Blade stated bluntly.
Codatorta laughed so hard as he hopped out of the window, "Spoken like a pro." He grinned mischievously and passed by Blade and went in for a sucker punch. 'She heard the lesson but didn't learn, my word.'
Blade had noticed his preying eyes and ducked away just to be swiped off her feet. "Woah, shit…" In the blink of an eye, he had pinned her down with his knee in a hold. She struggled but he held her even tighter, there was no escape. "Ouch, ouch, ouch, alright I give up…" Blade growled.
"Ha, smart choice. I was wrong. I see you did learn something," Codatorta released the hold, "I would say you got a few more years of training before you can go on a Council hunt," He pulled her up. Just to be greeted by a jump kick. 'Or maybe she didn't learn.' He simply took hold of the leg and stopped the kick in its tracks. "Nice try, but too obvious. Your still too slow." He remarked and pushed her away by her foot. Ready for another attack he eyed her challengingly.
Blade ground her teeth as she caught her balance as she skidded across the floor, "How do you do that…?!" She was so annoyed by his nearly impenetrable defences and he wasn't the only one she had trouble with getting a punch in these past days. "Ah," She wanted to attack again, yet relaxed. "My apologies Master Codatorta. I have my first mission today, I can't waste my magic on you. And also this fight is a lost cause…" She bit her lip. That fact was super annoying. But she couldn't change that fact.
"Ah, don't pout, you'll get there – maybe," He teased her some more, trying to provoke her.
Blade's eyebrow twitched. She really hated it when he did that. 'That sneaky…' Blade transformed into her Shadion as she balled her fists.
'Oh no, why is he always so…' Palladium rose up from his chair as well as Avalon for two reasons. One Blade was always more emotional in that form. And second to analyse Shadion. There still was a huge black hole of information about it and they weren't sure yet of what the consequences were.
Griselda wanted to scold her for using dark magic on the school ground but Faragonda held her back.
Gadiel simply wanted to see his hilt in action and that Shadion form was intriguing, to say the least.
Blade ground her teeth and stored the hilt in her transformation's belt pocket because her casual one was upstairs. And then made a picture-perfect curtsey. "My apologies. Fighting outside of battle class is against school regulations. I have to freshen up for my first mission today, I won't miss it because of detention. Have a good day, Master Codatorta." She rose from her curtsy and forced herself to relax. 'I won't fall for that trap, nope…' And turned around.
"Ah, so sad. And I thought you got balls." Codatorta pressed some more. He wanted to check if she had really let go of all her frustration. He was truly worried about it, if she still had a temper going on missions, it could end really badly. "Oh well, my guys can floor you on Wednesday, just like last week. I don't understand why you are wasting your time with…what was your mission, ah right, looking PRETTY for the police in town." He really was going for it with his insults.
Blade halted. She was tense and ready for a fight. She faced him head-on, but dropped out of her Shadion, "I'll catch up, again. Just you wait." It sounded like a declaration of war.
"HA!" Codatorta laughed relieved, 'So she found her balance again. Good work Lord Angel.' In the next second, he was back to his chipper self, "Of course, you will. Well then, good luck with your mission. See you Wednesday for training, bring that new sword of yours, we're training elemental attacks," He laid his hand on her shoulder, smirked and waved his goodbye to the rest and made his way back to Red Fountain.
Blade flew together with Rise, Dahlia and Snow above Magix City. They were on their first official mission from Alfea. It was good weather outside and they were patrolling the sky. The four's mission was to help the police to keep an eye out for any trouble and contact the cops if something was up. They were not to engage in battle.
"Urgh, sooo boring…" Blade complained as she landed next to the girls on a rooftop.
Rise yawned, "What did you expect it's our first mission? They don't just throw you into a massive battle."
Snow enjoyed the sun, "Why can't you appreciate the peace for once? This is way better than running for your life."
"Besides, we rescued three kitties. Helped one grandma over the street and searched for one bus station," Dahlia giggled, "And we are not the only team from Alfea, remember there is another team."
"Yeah, we're looking really pretty." Blade answered sarcastically. "Don't forget the balloon we saved. I just find it a bit insulting… I fought against an ice elemental in the summer boot camp. And here we're not to engage in a battle at all… ahhh," She ruffled through her hair. 'Damn it, Master Codatorta knew…'
"Well, it's to prevent collateral. There are so many buildings and bystanders. It's not an open field. Besides being a Fairy doesn't mean constant fighting. Luckily, we're past the days when the Winx were at Alfea. Or are you so keen on fighting evil overloads of doom all the time? Thousands if not millions of people got hurt back then," Dahlia threw in.
"No, of course not… but this seems a bit of a waste of our talents," Blade breathed out. "Granny, at three o'clock. Let's go."
Rise smiled, "I take the shopping bags." She and Snow dashed down to help the old Lady.
"Hello, there, we're Fairies from Alfea and on our first mission with the City police. Please let us help you with your shopping bags," Snow greeted the old granny kindly.
"Oh, how sweet of you," the granny was delighted. "Knowing that there are kind souls like you around is-"
BAAM! An explosion went off further along the street. And a man in black darted out of the smoke straight towards a car.
"I got him!" Blade was about to dash forward.
Dahlia held her back, "No, we're not to engage! Remember. Just call it in."
"But- fine. Still, I am not letting him out of my sight!" Blade kept her distance and watched the gravity wheels of the car light up. It sped away and she used the communication device to ring up the station as she pursued the car. "Fairy team two here, we got a robbery on Rubi-Lumére Avenue. Suspect heading east in a car. There was a bomb explosion." Blade looked behind her. The others had rescued the shopkeeper already. And Snow was taking care of the fire. "No casualties, small fire. Snow is taking care of it."
"Patrols thirty-one and two are en route. Keep your distance. An ambulance is on the way, as is the fire department," It echoed through the communicator.
"I can stop the car. Request permission to-" Blade already pulled up the street map on her bracelet.
"NO! Stay back. We don't need more casualties. That's way too dangerous for your first mission. He could shoot you out of the sky," the officer got upset.
"Fine…" Blade was so annoyed. They were treating them like little kids for no reason all day long. Blade flew up above. 'The only thing that creates more casualties is that driving style….' The thief was not following any traffic rules whatsoever.
"BLADE!" Rise was close behind her. She had used the GPS to find a shortcut to catch up with her.
"Is the shop keep okay?" Blade asked concerned.
"Yes, Snow took care of the fire and Dahlia is stabilising the shop walls," Rise gave her a thumbs up.
"Great! Oh crap, big junction up ahead. Rise, quick, swap the lights to red!" Blade commanded.
"Good Idea, on it!" Rise mustered some magic and turned all the traffic lights first to orange and then to red. The sirens came closer from the patrol cars as the two girls continued to just hang back and follow the crazy dude behind the wheels. He was driving as if he had no goal.
"Damn, we easily could just shut down his engines or I could destroy the gravity cores. And we would be done with this," Blade balled her fists. "Where is he going? He's driving all over the place."
Rise shrugged, "No clue… but look, he is evading the police cars…It's as if he knows where they come from…"
"If that cat and mouse game keeps going someone will get hurt," Blade checked the map. "I got an idea. Let's cut him off. And box him in then he has no choice but to run into the police." Blade smirked. "He's not getting away." Blade called Snow and Dahlia through their private group chat, who already were on their way. "Guys take a shortcut. Dahlia, go north east. Snow, North west. That thief is probably listening to the police radio. They'll never catch him this way."
"Let's catch us a bad guy. Think we can use the police chat to our advantage?" Dahlia suggested over the phone.
"That's a great idea!" Snow was all up for it.
It had been an hour by now and the guy still wasn't caught. The police were utterly confused that Blade and the others had begun to give out false information again, which made everything worse. The chase was one big mess. Blade had initially stopped, but the officers, kept treating them like little kids. And dismissed their notion that the guy was listening in on their radio. They weren't willing to use another decryption for their radio either. So, after watching the police chase the guy all over the City for an hour, Blade had it. So, the whole chat grew into one huge argument. And the girls had swapped to their private phones mostly to coordinate themselves. They chased the car from the sky and used their misinformation to guide the robber straight towards the police cars. Up ahead was one of the police roadblocks that had been set up. Dahlia covered the back. Rise and Snow dashed forward to block the side alleys. They nearly had the robber completely boxed in.
"Hey, get off the radio! Your headmistress will hear of this! Are you trying to sabotage us?" Another policeman shouted into the mic. They were all so fed up.
"But the robber is listening in! It's obvious!" Rise complained. "If you just let us attack…"
"NO!"
Blade ignored the stubborn police and tried to somehow get the last group in place, "Fairy team one, close of the access to the highway!"
"Why?!," a nagging voice resounded. Those girls had been an even bigger pain in the ass than the police. They were not doing anything useful at all.
"WIll YOU JUST DO IT?!" Blade's team screamed all at once.
"Stop using the RADIO!"
"FINE!" The second team finally decided to do something after not doing anything not even helping to chase the robber.
"This is all your fault! My whole reputation ruined because of you!" Aurum screamed at Blade.
"UURGH, if you just had held your position not only we would have caught that guy, but they would have to admit that WE were right and they were WRONG!" Blade threw her hands into the air frustrated.
"What!? She could have died! It was a gravity car!" Angel replied hysterically.
"Died? Pfff. A broken nail maybe… you simply had to build a blockade. You four have tons of spells that would have done the job!" Dahlia was bickering with them as well.
"Nail, oh you, insufferable!" Aurum hissed at Dahlia. "How dare you talk to a Queen like that."
"Oh, that's enough out of you!" Rise butted in, "Your no Queen yet. Even Queen Stella isn't as squeamish as you! We had him in the bag, you let him escape onto the highway! All our efforts wasted!"
Griselda was already standing at the school gates. She had a grim face. She had taken the call from the police department and had listened to half an hour rant from the police chief. He had screamed her ears off. She was in no mood for more. "SILENCE!" She yelled at the eight girls in total. Snow, Rose and Somnia flinched. They weren't keen on bickering or getting scolded even more.
"That's what you get for-" Aurum glared at Blade.
"I said silence!" Griselda was losing it.
Blade snorted.
Professor Griselda eyed her, "And what are you grinning about?! Do you know who had to listen to the Police Chief's rampage? We are an elite Fairy school with a long-lasting partnership. Do you know how many favours your stupid stunt cost us?!" She was furious. "There are rules for a reason."
"My stunt? The robber was listening in on the radio! If we had been allowed to engage he wouldn't even have gotten into the car," Blade protested. "I'm not some scared pushover…" Blade glanced at Aurum.
"Oh, you take that back!" Aurum flailed with her arms to somehow hit her or something.
Blade simply bashed away her laughable attempts to hit her, "Don't push your luck girly."
"ENOUGH!" Professor Griselda flared up her magic to boost her presence. It was overwhelmingly strong. "Don't make me finish this fight…" She growled displeased. Everyone shut up. Griselda breathed in. "You'll all will receive punishment. Once I discussed this over with Headmistress Faragonda."
"All of us?" Aurum was perplexed, "But they broke the rules. We were minding our own business…"
"Your Team, did nothing what so ever. The whole day. Do you think we send to the city to simply fly around for hours? Your mission was to help out the police not shopping and chatting. Did you really think this was a day off?" She scolded the first Fairy team.
Aurum pouted, "We went in for maybe twenty minutes…maybe half an hour…or so…" But she shut up again as Griselda wouldn't have it.
"And you four, ignored orders, several times. Being part of an organisation doesn't mean you do what you think is right. You do what you are told, we're not on Phere-Moan. You're supposed to follow the commands given to you, TO THE LETTER." Griselda ground her teeth.
"The orders were bullshit. Our mission was to protect the people of the City," Blade protested. "I could have-"
"And what if you did make a mistake and someone would have gotten hurt? Do you want to live with that? You had no information about that culprit's abilities. You should know by now that rushing in gets you killed!" Griselda reminded her firmly. "We are fairies. We follow the rules, help people and work TOGETHER. You all get failing grades for this mission. Dismissed." She pointed inside the school. There was no room for discussion here.
Professor Griselda opened the door to Fragonda's office. "One of these days I'll string her up the balcony…"
"Oh?" Griffins image flickered in the office, "You going Witch? What's wrong, Grisly bear."
"That's Professor Griselda to you," She hissed back. She was in no mood for Griffin's word games.
"That bad, huh?" Faragonda crossed her fingers as she leaned back in her chair.
"One group went for a shopping trip the other brought half the police force to a hold… Their stupidity reaches beyond what we did in our entire time here as students in Alfea!" Griselda complained.
Faragonda laughed out loud, "Only half? Do you remember then we let the Zapper escape in Magix City…"
"Not helping Fara…" Griselda moaned, but she couldn't hide a chuckle, that beast had shorted out all the electricity in the whole city. Wizgiz had given them an ear full back in the day.
"Just sent the chief a bottle of Palladium's wine casket. That will smooth things over," Faragonda suggested.
Griffin shook her head, "And you accuse us of bribing tactics…"
"We don't send it to get something from them. We sent it to please them and not get the shitstorm of a life time," Griselda defended Faragonda. "I swear, that Blade is riling up all those students. No team just goes and chases a jewellery thief all over town, with no second thought…I can't even put her in detention, because of all the extra stuff she's supposed to work on. TCH."
"Oohhh, I'm good with punishments. We have lots of nasty menial missions. I always can give her mission to another witch and give her one of those. Yes, perfect, that Kitty can go with her. She hates Fairies. Will take them even longer then. She's at least as stubborn as Blade."
"Working together as punishment?" Faragonda raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, Kitty only trusts her summons and listens to no one. It's perfect," Griffin chuckled amused. "That will teach that girl to attack my Mimic…"
Griselda adjusted her glasses, "We're trying to find a punishment for Blade, here…"
"Exactly, she is so used to people following her lead. She'll come back screaming," Griffin laughed devilishly. "Trust me, that will be a mission they both won't forget. It's nearly impossible to do alone."
"Don't tell me you'll send them on a viola hunt…hm, actually that is a good idea. We can test Blade's bracelet's new function. A mission with a lot of walking is just perfect for the test and it's not a dangerous mission, at all," Faragonda nodded, "Yes, let's do that."
"Where are you going?!" Blade hastened after Kitty. The Sorceress with the cut-out leopard top and black skirt was rushing through the forest like a maniac. But Blade got no answer. They were supposed to get Viola Iternis also known as wandering violet. It was a magical flower that bloomed rarely and could be found in the Sorceresses' forest. They had to get just one. Problem was that Flower could teleport from one spot to another, randomly. And it did so when it felt threatened, one tried to plug it without precautions and on top of it all it changed spots every minute. And not just by a few meters but by hundreds.
"Just piss off," Kitty hissed. She was scanning the forest for their price.
Blade sighed, "If you just keep using your eyes, we'll never get done… do you think we'll just run into one that just stays put, or what?" Blade had marked all the spots on a map on her bracelet. So, far they had seen around five flowers that had disappeared in front of their noses. "Do you even have a plan?"
"Yes, you stay out of my way and I get it done," Kitty brushed away some ferns.
"Oh, please, there has to be a better way to do this… we'll gonna take all day this way…" Blade moaned.
Kitty stormed forward, "THERE!" She flared up magic but was too late. "SHIT; STUPID DAMN- AAARGHH!" She morphed her hand into a claw and cut a young tree down. "How dare you distract me! We lost it because of you!"
Blade stared to the sky, "Suuure… and the last three times were my fault as well. I scared it off from twenty meters…" Blade shook her head. But even with her magicWeb search on the plant, she hadn't come up with a good plan. "Will you STOP!" Blade held Kitty back by her arm. "We at least need a plan when we see one. You said you did this before, so tell me what works best?"
"I don't need you, stupid MOTH!" She tried to scratch that annoying Fairy. "Unless you can talk to one, which is impossible since that flower doesn't respond to your stupid light magic!"
Blade blocked and had finally enough and took her into a grapple, "Wait, you can talk to them?! Why didn't you say so sooner!" Blade let her go again. "We've been hunting that stupid thing all morning. You said I shouldn't bother with the kind of Voice of nature spells."
"Yes, because light magic doesn't work. Why do you think this is a menial mission?! It's just a waste of time and freaking annoying," Kitty growled.
"But I can use Whisper of Creation!" Blade wanted to bang her head against a tree so hard. Instead she just facepalmed and the smack echoed through the forest.
"Whisper of the what now?" Kitty dismissed her notion halve way through.
"It's the dark magic version of Voice of nature…" Blade halted and sat down. "Shadion, Whisper of creation!"
Kitty stopped, "Wait what? You can connect to nature? But - what!? How?…no Witch can do that."
"What do you mean? You can't?" Blade connected to the Sorceresses' forest. 'Viola Iternis, Viola Iternis, Viola Iternis…'
"Of course not! No Witch can connect of her own to nature. To become a Witch, one must make a sacred ritual to gain more power and the passive ability to gain Drion from the air. That disconnects you from nature though. That's why Witches gain transformation only if someone else bestows power to them. Don't you learn anything at that glitter bucket of a school?"
"We learn how to stop you… not how you work per se…" Blade mumbled.
"Tch," Kitty found it insulting. "As if you could stop me…"
"Oh, well then, tell me how does a Fairy gain her first two transformations?" Blade asked cheekily.
Kitty rolled her eyes, "Power of friendship, unicorns and glitter-shit…"
"Wrong," Blade made a buzzer sound, "Ha… got one… two, three... Quick that way!" Blade stormed off. This worked better than expected. The dazzling part though was that she felt a lot of those flowers spread out all over the forest in her range. 'Ha, I get better with this each and every time.'
Kitty was at the ready, "Tell me where I can make a hex circle so that damn thing can't teleport!"
"Thirty-nine degrees, a new one popped up!" Blade marked the flowers on the map and Kitty dashed after them trying to get to one in time. It still was hard, because most of the time they had no idea where exactly those plants were or how long they had been there. Blade good pulled to the left.
The Sorceress dragged her inside a cave or something. She had to duck because the ceiling was so low, "Ha, this time for sure! Move it radar!" Their one minute was ticking. "Where exactly? come on, tell me? I'll make a bigger hex circle. Let's be done with this!" She shouted eagerly.
"Woah- just- just up ahead in the room… What the hell is this cave?" Blade opened her eyes. It was more or less pitch-black she couldn't really see shit. But it was warm inside this cave and it smelled sweet.
Kitty flared up her magic and a hex circle appeared at the dead end of a narrow chamber, "YESS!" She darted forward and more or less ripped the Viola Iternis from its flower stem. "HA! WE DID IT! And it isn't even lunch yet!" She roared amazed like a little kid.
"Nice teamwork!" Blade hopped towards her in the dark and raised her hand for a high-five.
Kitty in reflex clapped against the offered hand. Instant regret or rather embarrassment. Just to damp her out-brake of joy she cleared her throat, "Took you long enough… at least you were useful…"
A buzzing or humming rose. Blade didn't even need her spell. That were wings, a lot of wings. "Where did you drag us into…." She could feel that the room was filling with monsters.
"You said it was in here. How should I…oh no, Halucinga…" Kitty with her cat eyes already spotted the bees. They were cut off. "Answer my call, Blood Bat!"
"Halu- what? Now… great…That are hundreds…" It wasn't the biggest cave or well, nest. That was the reading she now got that she didn't focus on getting the stupid flower. 'Shit it's so enclosed in here… spear is too big… sword is not enough… here goes nothing…' Blade created two bigger chakrams. She knew from Phere-Moan that those swirly things gave her enough range and speed to defend against hordes in a tight space. Quickly she built two of them, but since she had no idea how to call them back she made a handle on them instead of one continuous edge. Those bees were as big as her hands and they weren't happy about their surprise visitors. She whirled and jumped around as the bees charged at them.
Kitty's bat used sound waves to push many back as she herself darted through to the exit, "Hurry it up! I'm not dragging you around then you get stun-!"
"Hey, hold a formation… urgh…" Blade spun mid-air and escaped the first batch. Kitty had gone silent there for a second., but she could hear her fighting. "Kitty?! We need to go back to ba- Ouch!" She swiped the bee off her arms and loaded her chakrams with magic and send sickles out to clear a path for her. 'Holy electron, that are so many…' Worried she stared at the sting. But she couldn't feel any bad consequences. 'Not enough venom?' She darted through the hallway as she passed by the Blood bat that got overrun and its shadowy form dissolved and came to an abrupt hold. "Kitty!" She threw her chakram.
Kitty flared up magic to burn off the stingers. She had overlooked a nook in the bee hive and had gotten blindsided despite her bat ears that were currently dissolving as well. "Shit, shit, shit…" she jumped to her feet and nearly tumbled over, her orientation was inhibited.
"Oh, for crying out loud… not this shit again," Blade threw her second chakram into the ceiling and transformed. She dashed forward to carry her. She caught her and raced to the exit. The tunnel got brighter, but the Halucingas were catching up. Yet instead of a crumbling sound of earth she only heard wax break apart and another horde joined up.
"Let me go… you… chhhhh," Kitty got hurled outside the cave because the bees had caught up. Blade cursed as she got stung a few more times before she was back outside.
"Run!" She screamed slightly panicked. Both girls sprinted away.
Heavily panting the girls were lying on the mossy forest floor, laughing and giggling so long and loud that they were losing their breath.
Kitty couldn't stop laughing at all, "Why are we laughing?!"
"I," Blade broke up it was hilarious, "I don't know…pfff" She had to laugh even more.
"WOAHH! Look at that flower!" Kitty pointed to a little blue Veronica with its dark purple stripes. The white centre was glowing. "Sooo, pretty, I didn't know they can do that…. Did you know? Is that because of your light magic? So cool…" Kitty was enthralled and google-eyed it even closer.
Blade rose her upper body to check what Kitty was talking about as she smashed against the bush branch in front of her, "Shit… how did that thing move so fast… it was so far away…holy electron…." She stared at the leaves in her face. They were so green. The brightest green she had ever seen. And they were in the sorceresses' part of the forest. Muffled by the bush works she exclaimed "Amazing… I thought your part looks all damp and dark, but this…" Blade grabbed a leave. There were so many veins spreading throughout Blade could feel the heartbeat of the leave. Her fingers were clearly pounding. "It smells so green! FRESH…" She took a deep breath.
Kitty barely could bring herself to look up. The whole forest was in sparkling colours. It was truly magical and she for some reason couldn't contain her joy. Not that she wanted to. It was simply an explosion of emotions. "Look there! A flying rainbow! After it!" Like a cat, she jumped after a rainbow beetle. "Quick before it gets away! We need the gold at the end of the rainbow! We can buy plenty of eh, violas that will teach the Griffin… We need the MONEY; After it!"
Blade scrambled up and dashed after her partner. "Hurry transform!" She herself transformed into her Shadion and zapped through the trees she came to hold at the edge of a mini pond. And abruptly stopped, "Huh, where did you go!? Kitty? Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty…" She tried to find her friend but everything was so bright. "Sooo pretty… Focus, we need that… eh, flying money… no, what was it?"
"AAAAARRGH!" Kitty jumped out of the undergrowth, the rainbow beetle directly in front of her. She smashed her hands together to catch the fleeing rainbow but miscalculated. She crashed into Blade and together they crashed into the small pound. "Nooo! It is escaping!" She balled her eyes out. "We could have been rich… Noooo….my money." She was devastated.
"Kitty, hey… Kitty…Psst…" Blade tapped on her shoulder and pointed to the other side of the pond. "Is that…."
"A UNICORN!" Kitty couldn't believe what she was seeing. Unicorns weren't native to Magix and most certainly not to the Witches' forest. That magnificent beast was stepping closer towards her.
"YOU!" With every step of the Unicorn, the water glowed up brighter, glittering in a thousand colours. "You are the chosen one. Finally, I found you. I searched long and wide for such bright spirits of friendship. You, you must bring the Viola back to the Great One! Praised be the Great Dark One! BUT-" The Unicorn made a dramatic pause and bowed its head towards them. "Beware currently a great evil… an EVIL master indeed occupies that place. Bring back the holy Viola, revive the Great One. Free the Great Dark One. You must summon the protector slumbering between the four towers. Invoke the ancient magic slumbering inside you. From two make one and let the protector rise, RISE higher than the towers! So, it may make its way to defeat that evil that still lingers and keeps the Great Dark One in chains. Free IT!"
"Whaat?! Chosen once…" Kitty couldn't believe it she never had been a chosen one before. "You heard that Blade, you can count on my Mr UNICORN!" She tried to rise but was unable to in that magnificent presence.
"But how do we summon the protector? I certainly can't. Kitty, what do we do!?" Blade panicked a bit. She was nowhere near good enough to make a summoning, especially one as high as some towers.
"Don't worry, chosen ones! Find, find the sword in the ruins. Find it and make your way to the towers. Many traps and obstacles you will face. But you must, you have to free the Great Dark One! Now go, time is short, you must succeed till dawn or all will be lost." The water splashed upwards as the unicorn galloped into the sky and vanished.
"Woaaah, till DAWN!? That's like … eh… we got like eight, twenty, no forty-two, no twelve hours maybe less! We gotta hurry! I will not fail this mission!" Kitty jumped up just to slip and crash into the water again. "Blade what are you waiting for let's go!" She pulled her up and dashed away.
