"Blade, you need to concentrate or this will never work…" Palladium sighed slightly annoyed, 'What's wrong with her today? She has been truly stable ever since Queen Stella had visited that really gave her a confidence boost. But this last week her head is somewhere else entirely…hm, is something bugging her?'
Blade reached out with her hands and sent two of her chakrams after Avalon who in return hid behind a sand column and readied his Frost Jian. He was prepared to evade the two chakrams yet they pierced the column a good meter above him and got stuck, there simply was no need to evade. "Blade get your angles right, concentrate!" Professor Avalon infused his Jian and jumped out from behind the column. 'She's right out in the open…come on, Blade…beginner mistake doesn't even have her guard up. Ughh.'
Blade had closed her eyes as she tried to reach out to the stuck chakrams, but yet again she didn't use enough magic. She still didn't have the hang of calling them back at all when they were out of sight or further away. 'Aaah, stupid things, move!'
"Frost flare!" Avalon used the visible chance to land a hit.
Blade still tried to recall and suddenly a cold shiver ran down her spine because she had a frosty flare in front of her face, "YIKES!" With no time to evade she braced for impact and rose her arms in front of her face, but to her surprise the hit didn't land. "Wow," irritated she stared at her other two chakrams that floated before her, vibrated and gave off some light magic ripples. They had entirely blocked the shot and weren't frozen. "They can do thaa—aaaahhh!" Blade bent over backwards to evade a sword swipe from the side.
Avalon had rushed towards her to flank that way he circumvented her defences completely, "And your dead." He swiped her feet and nailed her with excessive force to the ground his sword tip at her throat, "Blade…" he grumbled.
"Ouch…" Blade couldn't pinpoint him fast enough as she had not even expected him to race at her. Her belt turned red instantly. Not much force from the fall came through but it was enough to feel it. "That'll hurt tomorrow…" Her chakrams fell to the ground as she didn't focus on them at all anymore.
Professor Palladium deactivated the shields from the sandbox, "And what was that?"
"I know right?" Blade got pulled up and dusted off the sand. "Is that some shield? But they are basically sharp doughnuts with a hole in the middle how did the frost flare not go through?" She let one of them float and turned it around but there truly was no ice on it.
Professor Avalon sighed, "That's not what he meant…" He crossed his arms displeased.
"Uh, what then?" Blade stretched her neck and rubbed her eye as she checked the time.
Palladium frowned, "Blade? Hey," Irritated the girl stared at him. "You were out in the open. If this was a real battle you'd be cooked a hundred times over. Why are you dropping your form? You have been doing so-"
'Shit! We already went past the schedule,' Blade gazed back at the clock. "Alright, alright, next time I'll watch out for it. Promise. Floating isn't as easy as you make it seem, Professor. Anyways, if that's all…" Blade looked at them both she was eager to leave. They had more missions with Iolas today it would be a full afternoon and evening.
'If that's all?' Palladium's eyebrow twitched. "Blade -"
Yet Avalon butted in, "Yes, we are done with exercises today. Got somewhere to go?" He had picked up on it instantly.
"Yes, Polarissa wanted to study for exams. Zarathustra has some weird way to phrase her tests," she dispersed the chakrams and took off the forcefield belt. "Great, well then, thanks for the training, see ya around," She bowed deeply and jumped into the air, transformed and boosted her wings to rush off to Cloud Tower.
"But…" Palladium sighed deeply, "We didn't even debrief…really, she is all over the place lately."
"Yeah, she just unlocked a new skill and is completely unphased. I thought she would bury herself in training like at the start. Codatorta mentioned their team made some night specials. Hmm," Avalon thought about it. "Did Shanna say anything to you?"
Palladium shook his head as he ended the program on the console, "No, not at all. She is quite happy with the progress I believe. Did Blade come to talk? You made some time, right?"
"Yes, but she barely used it. I actually had to sit her down a week ago, but we didn't really talk about anything of importance at the end. She seems quite…"
"Steady…" Palladium didn't like it, "After that hearing of hers. I know she got cleared but she was devastated… How is she so calm now? Is she just keeping it all inside? Whole class in fact. It's like the assault never happened…"
Professor Avalon breathed out loud, "Well, from her aura she is not distraught. So, I rather have her less focused on improving and getting stronger all the time than her obsessing over it. But it's unlike her to ignore a new skill completely."
"Hmmm, well she has Cloud Tower exams as well. And it's only a bit more than two months before exams start and this time around she won't fail because of battle class that's for sure," Palladium put the belt back in the charging station. "I'll write something up for her, she still should find some time to at least read some feedback if she's too impatient to listen…" He wasn't happy about her conduct, but Avalon was right her focusing on the future was more important.
'Alyssa go left, and then straight and then right, there should be a park, don't stop!' Zhoron ordered in the psi-link. He had a keen eye on this chase.
"Okay guys, let's hurry," Blade and Birdy picked Dean and Damon up So they could overtake Alyssa and the Officers and take a shortcut.
"Conceal from sight!" Zhoron cast quickly on them all, "You know what to do. Misery with me, we need to buy Alyssa sometime."
Misery nodded, "This is crazy, what's wrong with those Officers!?" She balled her fists in anger.
'Zhoron, can I, please, just get rid of those cuffs already…' Alyssa panted heavily even in the psi-link. Her chest trembled, and her muscles hurt, 'I can't run that far, I'll never reach the park…' She already felt dizzy and she shivered in exhaustion.
Zhoron dashed off with Misery, 'Oh, yes, you can! We are right behind you.' He cheered the young Fairy on, it truly wasn't far anymore.
Alyssa looked behind her. Those Officers had their fun alright, a bright grin behind their helmets. They chased her on gravity bikes through the side streets, shooing away bystanders, "Stupid cuffs…" She glared down at the green jade sparkling in the sun. Only one was clicked around her wrist so she could use some magic, normally she would have shot back, but they were trying to prove the guilt of Officers so fighting back was not truly an option. She infused magic into her legs, body enhancement magic wasn't really her strength, 'NEXT TIME SOMEONE ELSE PLAYS THE FUCKING BUNNY!' She hissed in the psi-link despaired.
"Dark smoke," Misery cast up ahead, the dark cloud laid heavy in the small street. So now Alyssa had a chance to get some more distance from them as the ally was much more cramped.
"Mind mirage," Zhoron focused in on the Officers, reaching for their minds.
In shock, the Officers hit the brakes after they had raced through the cloud, "Kid, what, where are your parents!? Get out of here didn't you see the Witch?! It's dangerous here!" They had overlooked the child completely before.
The kid started sobbing and dropped its ball and took off crying, "MUMMY!"
"Stupid kid…come on, let's get that Witch! HA! She's fast, what fun, think she'll piss herself when we catch up?"
"Who knows," The other one grinned. And they started their engines again.
Alyssa's legs burned and tingled as she turned right the park was up ahead, she already could see Damon, Dean and two other Specialists she knew to be Birdy and Blade behind a glamour. "Come one, Blade, get it right…"
Blade concentrated and closed her eyes she sent out her flare of dark magic underhanded as no one was paying them much attention, "Come on…" She was tense.
Alyssa crossed the street as she got hit by Blade's spell and the image of a Specialist glamoured her. "Hey, guys! Sorry, I'm late!" She shouted, her voice deepened as well, 'Nice.' She halted next to the other three and stemmed her arms on the legs. She was drenched in sweat and wobbled on her feet. Yet she had to present as normal although she was short of collapsing.
"Wow, you alright?" Dean shoved her more to the side next to the tree for her to lean on and block the sight from the street. He went into a brotherly hug to keep her from collapsing to the ground. Alyssa was completely exhausted.
Not a minute later the Officers arrived, "Shit, where did she go? Don't tell me that smoke screen was her…damn it…"
One looked to the park, "Ahh, she ran inside, we'll never find her now. What a bummer… well, nothing we can do, let's get back on patrol. Shit, now we lost another pair of cuffs…"
Damon was so close to walking after them, "I'll rip their guts out…"
Zhoron landed with Misery next to them, 'We won't do such a thing, remember what we are doing this for. No VIOLENCE, we are better than this. This goes to court, they can kiss their job goodbye. Good job all of you.' He stepped towards Alyssa and gave her a quick check-up. He didn't show anger besides what they all just had witnessed, he was as composed as ever, 'And something like that calls itself a protector of justice…what a joke.'
"Hey there, warrior queen," Amal greeted Blade with a blush on his cheeks. "Was the hunt successful?" He asked intrigued.
"Yeah…it's just so many…" Blade rubbed over her forehead astonished as she let herself sink into the couch in the secretary's office. They had been at it a couple of days now there was just so much to do. Although more Sorceresses from Cloud Tower had joined after they had seen the Council was getting involved.
Amal looked saddened, "I know what you mean…" He came around and poured a glass of juice for her. "The proven threat is growing with each day… it's frightening. Power should be used to help people, nothing else. They are using it all wrong, how dare they," he balled his fists he was so riled up, this was personal to him, "If I had magic, I-"
Blade smile at him kindly, "I know… thanks, but don't think small of what you do. You make time for us when you prepare all the files, double-check reports, rewrite them properly, coordinate teams… I heard Iolas mumble to himself, he's impressed I assure you."
"Noone is as impressing as you though, He laughed shyly, "Blade…"
Blade had to snort there first, 'Yeah, right…' She refocused, "Yes?" Blade stared at the ceiling, this had been one busy evening. She sipped at her juice.
"I…" Amal paused, "I know I'm not as impressive or strong as your Red Fountain guys…" He chose his words really carefully.
'Oh, no way… he isn't, is he?' Blade nearly choked a bit on her last sip and cleared her throat, "I told you…" Blade looked back at him 'Wait, I shouldn't interrupt, damn it, let him talk!' Blade shut up, "Sorry. You were saying?"
'Maybe I shouldn't… no I should, I shouldn't, ahhhh, stupid Votzaak, backbone… easy for him to say!' Amal set down on the couch as well, "I-I- I stutter when I get confronted with well… I am clumsy, and don't often speak my mind." He was ringing for words, 'What the heck am I doing?! Way to impress her…who wants to hear about flaws?!' But he just talked on, "I know this is a bit out of the blue. But I- I know we only have got to know each other and I don't expect anything," he evaded her gaze promptly. "This sounds crazy…" His heart pounded in his chest.
Blade snickered inwardly, 'He's so flustered and honest, he is cute that way. But yeah, we don't know each other that well. The girls asked me like a hundred times and I still have no answer for myself,' Blade looked at all the techno stuff in the office and smiled gently, "No, that's not crazy. Feelings are valid. Always." That was the best she could come up with, 'what the heck am I saying here…Shanna, why does that work for you but here it's just… cheesy and awkward…'
Amal breathed out relaxed, "See, that's what I mean. You make me feel at ease, you brought change. Good change, massive change!" He jumped from the couch to face her, he was so energetic he gestured wildly, "You are all I hope to be. When I see you fight, I just want to give it my all. All those reports I had to write about you, they can't even come close to your brilliance!" Amal stopped, 'Ahh, that is way over the top! Come on, dude, you work in the damn Council how am I bad at this, picking words should be easy as pi. No, I should just say it, backbone, backbone…backbone' He lowered his arms this was getting out of hand. He quietly mumbled to himself, "I am such a coward…"
"You are no coward," Blade tried to reassure him. 'Why is he talking himself down all the time? I would never be able to walk up to someone and do this if I am unsure of the answer...'
"But I am," Amal shook his head. "But, you, YOU are - I like you Blade, more than that, more than just a fan. I know I'm nothing like the other guys." He got more nervous with each second. "And I don't want an answer now!" He blurted out all of a sudden. "But know. No, I mean, my grandfather always said to fight for the things that are precious to me… So, I'll- I'll fight-" He got his words stuck in his throat before he mustered all his courage, "For once, I'll give it my all. Let me prove it to you. I will! Give me an answer then." His eyes were begging for a chance. His leg was twitching. He just wanted to flee the room.
Blade blinked surprised, 'Holy electron he said it! I, eh, eh, wait-' Blade blushed. The girls had picked up on his gazes as well. Blade had guessed it a bit, but she hated to interpret something into the actions of others without knowing them too well. She focused inwardly, 'Say something damn it. But I don't know what to say! It's not a yes but I can't say no. It's too early… No wait, what did he say...he doesn't want an answer now. He knows, I know, yes! Amal you genius.' In her eyes Amal was right they didn't know each other well enough yet. "Amal you don't have to prove anything to me… never. And I assure you I am not that flawless person you make me out to be," Blade calmly stated. 'Okay, nice, good.'
"But you are to me," Amal protested emphatically.
Blade blushed there herself, who wouldn't like to hear that, "Well then, bus is arriving soon. There is no way I am flying back to Alfea today, Keryth had worked us to the bones." She complained a bit. "I bet he has a bet running with Dealeth…" She growled slightly annoyed and stood up, her heart was pounding a bit now, and she didn't even know why, "Thank you for your honesty and I think you are right, you should always fight for what is important to you, even if we sometimes don't know how it will conclude." She walked towards the door. She wanted to honour his request and give him an answer at a later time, "Oh, one thing Amal. I meant it, you don't have to prove anything to me. I don't think a guy," She stuttered, 'Aahh, cheesy as fuck, damn it, why is it cheese in this context…damn it,' She shook her head irritated. "YOU don't need muscles to impress, your strengths lie somewhere else. So, please, stay true to yourself. I like this version of you the most. You do not need to wield a sword to impress me, okay? I mean it. Specialists are Specialists, you are you, no need to compare, the job is not what's most important to me, not at all," A smile flitted over her lips and quietly she closed the door behind her. 'Shiiiiit, mum, how did you manage to find dad?! This is sooo hard. Crap.' Her heart was pounding so fast. 'Worse than a Codatorta drill…'
Amal held his breath as the door fell into the lock, 'BY THE DRAGON WHAT WAS I THINKING BLURTING IT OUT LIKE THAT!?' He passed up and down. Worrying, replaying the conversation in his head, what he could say differently or better or... But it felt so good, he had said it. "That's what counts, yes. I said it. She didn't say no instantly. She would have if there had been no chance. She would have, right? …She…aahhhh. I won't lose, Mercury, I just won't." He breathed in deeply.
Daphne corrected the history assignments of the second-years, "Oh, not again…" She was sitting in the teacher's lounge with some other Professors.
Zyron looked up from his coffee, "Not again? Something wrong?"
"Yeah, pandemonium class, their assignments … they are at the bare minimum. And even Tasu's is a bit lacking. It's so unlike them. And they all sound the same… If I had any knowledge I'd say someone wrote a text and used some techno bot to rewrite it ten times," Daphne shook her head.
Zyron laughed, "Well, they are hanging around even closer than before. Nothing's wrong with a study group."
Dufour chuckled, "Well, Blade's improving in my class, Queen Stella really has gotten to her."
Daphne looked out of the window, "I don't know, they seem distracted to me. And with a study group, these reports should improve not get worse if you ask me…"
Eldora nodded, "Yeah, they are really slow in the Greenhouse tasks as well. Most classes already have finished the project, they are halfway through it. I thought it was because everyone is still well trying to make Blade comfortable again, but she already seems back to her old self."
Griselda entered, "Who's back to her old self?"
"Blade," Zyron and Pikass who had finished his class preparation answered in sync. Pikass pondered a bit, "Nothing gets that girl down… that was just another skirmish to her. She truly has no problem recovering from flesh wounds. It's scary."
"Hmm…" Griselda frowned, "Not so sure if it was just flesh wounds…"
"What do you mean?" Dufour was completely taken off guard by the statement.
Griselda shook her head, "Oh nothing… Faragonda just has that… vibe. She hasn't said anything so I guess it's handled. But Avalon and Palladiu-"
"Yes? Need something? Anything I can help you with?" Avalon and Palladium entered together and nearly bumped into Griselda still so close to the door.
"Oh nothing, really, all good. Just discussing your favourite class," Daphne waved dismissingly.
"Aurum's?" Palladium asked cheekily.
Pikass was so surprised, "No pandemonium… since when is…?"
"He's playing you," Avalon chuckled. "But in workload, I always rather take Aurum's. They do nothing…at all…"
"Ah, still problems in battle class?" Zyron laughed. "Seems like you should sic Cloudy face on them."
"HEY!" Griselda stomped her foot, "I'm not frowning all the time."
"Well, not everyone can be a Mister Sunshine," Avalon snorted half loud.
"Avalon!" Palladium admonished him, "You are not a cloudy face, they are just scared of you," He tried to calm Griselda down.
She wasn't impressed at all, "And that from Angel of Death and General, you killed babies for a living if I remember correctly…" She rolled her eyes and turned to leave again after she had placed her stack of papers on her desk.
"Ahhh, but Griselda, you are head of discipline. Being feared is part of the job and you do it so well," Zyron laughed yet again and nearly spilled his coffee. "Without you we would drown in teenage chaos." He complimented her backhanded.
"You-" She rose a finger, "Don't you get cheeky with me." Huffing and puffing Griselda left to help Faragonda.
Daphne chuckled, "Cloudy face fits her so well…"
Avalon smirked, "Don't let her hear that."
"Holy electron," Blade stared wide-eyed at a photo in a book. The Fairies were studying in the library exams were still a thing after all besides their secret missions.
"What?" Nebula looked at her. "Yearbook, why?"
"I don't know I thought… I just picked it up with the other books… but have you seen Palladium's first-year picture?" Blade slit the book over to her.
"Wow, he was short," Rise stared at it in disbelief. "Wait that was what Queen Stella meant when he grew a bit?"
Tessa took the book, "He looks a bit like a kid, bigger but you know the vibe…" She skimmed through the pages. "What do you mean, why so flustered…no way."
"What?" Sienna looked up from her notes.
"Check, out that next year's photo. He looks the same as now…" Tessa scratched her head, "How can he grow in one year like what twenty centimetres? And those abs…"
Snow checked the dates, "It's less than a year. Those photos are from the end of that semester to the start of the next one so that's like one summer break. That's barely two months."
"Growth spurt?" Dahlia frowned. Rise still was sitting there with her mouth open.
"No, way…" Blade turned the pages back and forth. "That looks like two different people. I mean he is more than just bigger, just check the hair colour."
"That could be a spell," Birdy threw in.
Tasu was intrigued as well now, "Yeah, but… muscles take time. I mean the boys do training all year long and they are not ogres yet…"
Amber tilted her head, "Yeah… it's kind of weird. I know what you mean, Blade. But how do Elves age? All the guards are at least a few hundred years old. I haven't seen any Elf looking that young – anywhere. Rise?"
Rise cleared her throat, "No clue. But now I understand how he went from shy to affirmative in one summer…"
"Well, who wouldn't? … If clothing makes the people, goes double for muscles…" Sienna snorted.
"Not to be a bummer, but we really should get this done before… well you know…" Nebula whispered as she could see Barbartea walk by. Everyone agreed and so it was back to their studies.
Haldir hurried to track the Officer again, 'Damn it, where is that guy going…' He had left behind Steela, Dahlia, Amber, Keith, Michael, Rise, Sienna and Marble after following that Officer around half the afternoon. They had witnessed some random screw-up with another Sorceress the Officer simply had left the broken Police car standing and was rushing through the city and ended up at the Council building. Haldir of course had the kids stay behind; then with the help of the security runes of the headquarters, he ran after the Officer in the Council halls invisibly.
"What's wrong?" An on-duty Council guard halted next to him and whispered. They were able to see him of course.
Haldir just shooed them away with a gesture and rushed after the Officer into the office of the Council member of Espero unseen.
"Councillor, you got to help me," The Officer was super nervous, "I, it was an accident and that stupid bitch just ran. And I know it was my fault but the car is shit now, that can't be fixed if I… please, you got to help, we are Cousins can't you do anything…?"
A good twenty minutes later Haldir could leave that damn office. The other guards had waited nearby but as they saw him stomping away they were mostly confused since Haldir apparently had no intention of making an arrest to their surprise. 'Those stupid uuurgh! He nearly kills a Witch ruins a police car and now they want to pin it at the girl!? And that all through a Council member of all people! Where is Nerrocean? ...That Merman better get him kicked from his seat.'
"Okay and now, white root," Tessa stirred the pot her eyes were falling shut. She was so tired all those missions were really draining their stamina and concentration they had been at it all night and the rest of the class wasn't much better off. The kettles were cooking and the calming smell of herbs was in the air.
Rise yawned and picked up the whitish root and chucked it in. Suddenly the whole thing started to bubble and sizzle, "Eh…" She stared at it in disbelieve. "Is it supposed to do th-"
"DUCK!" Tessa jumped her and flung them both to the ground. A massive foam explosion covered the whole room. Fluffy and stable everything was covered now as like snow in the winter.
"TESSA! RISE!" Wizgiz shouted as he hopped upwards to hold onto the blackboard. "What are you doing?!" He was so pissed. "Seriously," He waved with his hand and with a magical shimmer the foam subsided. "You'll scrub this room clean, you hear me."
"Yes, Professor," the two girls answered as everyone was trying to get the foam out of their hair and hid a chuckle.
"Really, you are slacking off in so many classes," Wizgiz admonished them all sternly, "No one has anything against taking it easy, but you…" Yet as his gaze hit Blade he loosened up a bit, he sighed, "Well, you all need to start over now… those potions are all contaminated."
"OOOOOhhhh, come on…" Everyone complained and first helped out Tessa and Rise clean the room with some magic quickly.
Ilrune looked behind himself, "Come on people, this can go faster, no slacking off."
Kitty was panting heavily, "Damn him," She stopped to catch her breath. And to calm her erratic breath. The forest was thick and it was already dusk. The cool evening breeze cooled her skin yet sadly there was no long break for her.
Damon and Alex were overtaking her, but even they were getting to their limits, "Come on, cat, don't tell me that's all you can do." Alex teased her.
"Uuuurgh just you wait!" Kitty amassed some magic, "Answer my call, Terror Wolf!" She hopped on her shadowy copy of the monstrosity it represented, "See ya, suckers!"
"HEY!" Damon complained as the massive wolf jumped passed him, "That's cheating!"
"It's my own magic, it's not cheating!" Kitty stuck her tongue out. Just to face plant the forest ground.
Ilrune grinned at her he had destroyed that summon faster than she could notice, "Now, now, we said body enhancement magic. Go on, I'll catch you in a minute." He rushed to the backline Birdy and Sienna were way behind. They weren't at all used to this kind of training.
"Why do we need to do this torture?" Sienna stemmed against a tree her legs were shaking.
Ilrune pressed his hand on her back and gave her a little magic boost, "Well, if you can't even get to the correct city on your own how will you ever manage to catch all those Officers? You shouldn't skip this kind of training. What good is magic if your body can't hold out long enough to use it all." He laughed.
Birdy glared at him, "I swear, we'll end up running Blade's stupid parkour every day in the end…"
"Well, that would be a good start," Ilrune nodded to the front as he saw Polarissa reach them, "Come now, how can you three be so slow? Don't make me carry you."
Polarissa ignored the Elf completely she was short of throwing up, "Fuck this," Polarissa jumped into the air and flew past them all.
Sienna and Birdy looked at each other, "Wait for us!" They transformed and dashed after her.
Ilrune shook his head and sighed, "Ahh, we really should do a joined training… for so many though we need Red Fountain stadium…"
"Rob, you coming?" His new partner called out to him. The old Officer waited impatiently. There still was lots to do today and those constant daydreams didn't really help anyone.
But Rob simply stared at the back of the Witch they had shortly interviewed, 'What am I doing here…?'
'So, he really didn't arrest me. Amazing…' Serina thought to herself as she walked away. 'I was so sure he would… did he notice it's just a ploy?' She walked around the corner the sun reflected on the clean building walls it was a nice afternoon. One which had been filled with plenty of missions yet again.
Ararel regrouped the team as he saw Serina, "Well, he didn't take the bait at all neither did the other Officer. Good job, Tyson, Michael, you made good thugs. Snow you can dial down a bit."
"Quite frankly that is how most of our peers would react. Over the top is kind of well, expected," Snow scratched her head.
Marble tipped on her own bracelet she was using it a lot and also had gotten a bit of scolding already for her playing around with it, "Ha, finished, well our Rob is at least bugged now. Amal can observe his phone chats now. Maybe we get an in to others that way. We totally should have made it a self-spreading virus…" But she just earned a glare from Ararel, "I know, I know, law…Well, at least if he is just behaving now to get off the heat. We'll get him later."
"I don't know… he seems half-hearted to me," Michael shook his head, "Well, to the next one?"
Ararel nodded, "Yes, to the next. You should be used by now that you don't get a result straight from the get-go. That's normal with stakeouts. You gotta stay on it."
Blade stared out the window, 'That guy... aargh, we had so many prior reports. He definitely is crooked, but since that station leader admonished the other guy… shit. How do we get him? … Everything has failed to proof it. He is like super nice since days…' Her grip tightened around her pencil. The classroom was nothing more than a blurred background to her. She was so exhausted they hadn't had a good sleep in days and it felt harder to get those stakeouts done. Her mind was racing trying to figure this one out as she had the revelation "IN THE BAR WHEN HE'S DRUNK!" She bumped her knee at the table, "Ouch…"
"What?" Professor Avalon eyed her closely.
"Oh, eh, sorry, I just…uhm…" Blade stuttered.
Nebula jumped to her rescue, "Right! That's how the mole knew, aah, that movie was so complicated. Next time we watch a romance." Everyone facepalmed this was such a bad excuse.
Avalon raised an eyebrow as he tilted his head slightly, "Blade, five minutes after class, we talk…" He sighed, "And now, please kindly explain the difference between the philosophical standpoint and the discrepancy to politics and how that can alter the decision on how a ruling party should decide in this case."
"Uhm," Blade stared at the blackboard, "They just should gain enough power to just overrule the opposing side? That always works." She grinned a bit lost.
Avalon wasn't happy at all and shook his head in response."Less movie interpretation please and eyes up front," He ordered her sternly. 'What's wrong with them? They are all so fatigued… their grades are slipping in nearly every class. We need a conference…'
The wind of the last attack still blew in her face and the next one was already racing towards her. Blade stood her ground, 'This time around!' She hovered the chakrams before her and infused magic.
"BLADE! Enversio Inobmab," Griselda raised a shield before her. The Plasma Sphere had simply flown through the hole in the middle and nearly had blown her out of the sky. "What were you thinking?!" Nebula's plasma sphere got absorbed by the shield instantly.
"I, damn it… I know I can block an attack like that I just need to get those ripply things running…" Blade pouted.
Griselda shook her head, "That was one lucky shot in your special training." She rose her finger warningly, "Also remember that elemental attacks have to be blocked differently than energy-based ones. You have no idea what would happen. If they resonate it could explode in your face." She shook her head, "IF it's not ready for combat don't use it in my defence class is that understood? That goes for all of you. Really get your heads into the game, we have exams soon…"
"Yes, Griselda…" Everyone sighed, she was especially hard on them since they had screwed up in her class more and more because of their lacking concentration.
Amal smirked at Blade, "You are amazing, that actually may work. One of these days you got to tell me how that brilliant mind of yours works." Outside it rained slightly yet as always inside it was warm and cosy. Besides, when Blade was there it didn't matter what weather or how much work was still to be done.
"Your honey is dripping," Blade rolled her eyes yet still a smile flitted over her lips. They were sitting at his console together. 'He can make compliments alright…'
Mercury tensed up a bit. Today they were in the same team, 'Oh, how can he…that may work? Of course, it will. Her plan is solid.'
Vulcano snorted as she noticed his gaze, "Envy much? If you want to throw your gauntlet into the ring, do it already." She challenged him. They were sitting on the couch.
"Got to agree, why are you holding back, if you want something go for it," Alyssa crossed her arms. She disliked this hem and haw so much it was ridiculous.
Kai laughed, "No, no, Mercury would never do that, he's a gentleman," he was about to ruffle through his hair.
"Don't," Mercury caught his arm and held it tight. "And just you know, I just think this is not the time for it. She just had… that's not something one just forgets. Some things need time to heal. She needs time to heal. We don't know how this will all end. There is no point in trying to get into her pants like that dude-"
Tolith appeared behind them and made everyone on the couch flinch, "I don't think he just wants into her pants... Amal is right, Blade is a bright girl and there only will be more guys not less trying to win her over. Don't wait too long if you really mean it like he does. Still, I am impressed, it is very mature for a youngster like you not to bud in like an envious child. Good for you. Now, where is Rise?"
"Running late again," Alyssa rolled her eyes she was still creeped out by those camouflages the elves teased them with, "Solarian's and their pedicure…"

Shanna sat as always in her chair and crossed her legs intrigued, "I know it was a horrific situation, being stuck in the prison cells, Blade. But I have to ask, we have talked lots and lots about it. And worked on it diligently; from my standpoint, you are more than stable in that regard." She paused. "We always can talk about it, Blade, don't get me wrong here. But I get several reports that you, and your friends in fact as well, fall asleep during classes and are tired all the time." She seemed concerned. "You have more than enough training in all the schools, you got stronger. And as long as you don't throw yourself into dangerous situations," she squinted her eyes, "a repeat of such a thing is on the slimmer side. Are you in need of the Dream Eaters again? Are the nightmares back? Then again… that has nothing to do with your classmates."
"I know, and no, I don't need a Dream Eater," Blade shook her head. 'Should I… no… what if she says no… she didn't spoil anything at the hearing…'
Shanna saw Blade's brain in overdrive figuring out what to say. She waited patiently.
"Everything is fine. I am in no danger neither is my class, okay?" Blade stated. "And no, we are not doing dangerous- or well, crazy… stuff." Blade grimaced she could already see Shanna rose her eyebrow.
"Well, you don't believe that yourself. But I don't need to tell you that," Shanna tipped with her fingers on the plant chair. "Revenge isn't the answer, Blade."
"I know that!" Blade protested, "But- there are other ways. Just and safe ways," She held against it firmly.
"Just…now, that sounds interesting," Shanna leaned forward. "Do tell, how do you get just revenge? That would mean Court." She tilted her head.
'Fuck… she knows me too well,' Blade ground her teeth, "I don't know what you mean."
Shanna smirked, "Oh, sure you don't. But Blade, sleep is important, not just for school. You can do your hearing whenever you want. When we are ready and have the proof needed. There is no point in rushing this. That will only get you and your friends hurt. You are not alone all your Professors stand behind you." She admonished her slightly.
"And how will they get proof? I don't see them doing anything. They don't know how to," Blade crossed her arms. 'But we know.'
"Seems to me like you already know how to solve that predicament. Why not share your idea with your Professors, and invite them in?" Shanna smiled kindly.
"So, they can say no or slow us down? Never," Blade dismissed the idea straight away.
Shanna sighed, "Blade… I need to be sure that you don't put yourself in unnecessary danger or harm. Or I'll see myself in need to inform Professor Avalon for your own good. You know you can trust me. So please, give me something to work with here."
Blade closed her eyes, "No word to anyone?"
"If I know you are safe, yes, you know me I can keep my mouth shut," Shanna laughed, "Faragonda's still a bit salty you know…" She chuckled.
"We are working on a project with the Council, I'm bound to secrecy. That is what takes a lot of our free time," Blade looked her straight in the eyes, "So no, we're not in danger in fact we never were safer."
"Oh, a project? Sounds interesting, can't wait for the results. Very well," Shanna could tell it was the truth and she wouldn't be in danger, "then maybe we should work on your sleeping schedule. It is one thing to take extra curriculum but there is still school and your body needs rest… okay? Let's work on that today…"
