Chapter 9
Bella's first week as a vampire was a whirlwind of activity. The Cullens had moved to a new house in Colorado and they had to completely redo it to make it livable again. Bella was amazed at how quickly they were able to transform the house. The living room was especially impressive with its grand size and several comfortable sofas. The fireplace with its mantel was a beautiful centerpiece of the room. The Cullens had not lived in the house for several decades, so they pretty much had to buy everything for it. It was exciting for Bella to watch them as they kept bringing there new purchases into the house. Bella would have loved to help, but as a newborn, she knew she could not interact with people yet. She found it hard to believe that she would kill someone, but she was also aware that her bloodlust was still very strong. She knew not to take any chances, and with the delight she felt while draining deer, she probably thought it was best that she not test her resolve at this point.
Bella and Edward's bedroom was located at the back of the third floor, offering a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. On the front half of the third floor, Carlisle and Esme's room was just as spacious and elegantly furnished. Alice and Jasper had a large room on the second floor, plus a second room which Alice had already designated as her fashion design studio. Rosalie and Emmett's room was also on the second floor and boasted a luxurious four-poster king size bed and antique furnishings.
Esme and Jasper worked on repairing the exterior of the house, fixing parts that had become worn and broken over the years. Bella had eagerly offered to assist, but her newfound vampire strength proved to be more of a hindrance than a help. In her eagerness, she accidentally broke a few tools and damaged some of the posts surrounding the front porch. Despite her frustration, Bella knew she needed to be patient and give herself time to adjust to her enhanced abilities. Emmett took charge of wiring the house for phone, internet, and cable. As he worked, he regaled Bella with stories about the early days when technology was not as advanced. He told her about the days when televisions were rare and expensive, and when people had to go to the library to look up information instead of using Google. Bella found it fascinating to hear about a time before all of the modern conveniences that she had taken for granted. Meanwhile, Rosalie spent her time choosing furniture and decor for the house, determined to make it a warm and inviting home for the family.
Alice was in her element, overjoyed to have the opportunity to buy a new wardrobe collection for all of the Cullens, including Bella. Even if Bella hadn't lost all her clothes in the explosion, she would have needed a new wardrobe as her body had grown and developed significantly since becoming a vampire.
Bella didn't say it out loud, but she couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of love for her new body. Bella's reflection in the mirror left her in awe every time she caught a glimpse. She had never felt so alluring and confident, and it was a strange sensation to see her new self staring back at her. The woman in the mirror was taller, more graceful, and possessed a lithe and toned body that made Bella feel invincible. She couldn't help but admire her sculpted curves, the smoothness of her skin, and the radiance of her features. It was almost as if she had become a different person, and she loved every moment of it. One thing that particularly pleased her was that she had grown a couple of inches in height, making her feel taller and more imposing.
Before she turned into a vampire, Alice had convinced her to go to a spa to remove all unnecessary hair, and Bella was grateful for that advice now. Alice had said, "Your body will be like this for eternity, so you should make sure it's exactly how you want it because there are no do-overs." And indeed, Bella felt satisfied with her body after the full spa treatment. Her breasts, especially, were something she couldn't take her eyes off of, and she couldn't wait to finally show them to Edward.
As a vampire, Bella's desires had become more amorous and urgent than when she was human. She hadn't talked to Edward about it yet, but she knew it was only a matter of time before she could no longer resist temptation. She had waited for so long for him to let down his guard, and now that she was like him, she didn't see any reason to hold back.
Bella's heightened senses had begun to settle down from the overwhelming intensity of her first day as a vampire. While it was still strange to see and hear everything in such detail, she was getting used to it. After a few days of settling in and everyone finishing their rooms, Bella and Edward found themselves sitting together in the living room, enjoying each other's company.
However, their peaceful moment was abruptly interrupted. Bella's eyes shot up in surprise as she heard Alice's high-pitched moans, reverberating throughout the house. "Oh god, oh god, Jasper. Harder, harder. Yes, yes," Alice cried out. Then, Jasper's deep voice joined in. "You feel so good, Alice. So tight and wet," he growled. "I want to feel you come around me, baby." Bella could not believe what she was hearing, and she looked over at Edward, who was looking away quite embarrassed. Alice's moans grew louder, and Bella could hear the bed frame creaking as Jasper pounded into her. "Don't stop, don't stop," Alice gasped. "I'm so close, Jasper. Make me come, please." Jasper grunted in response, "That's it, baby. Come for me. Let me feel you." Finally, Alice let out a loud cry of pleasure, and Jasper's voice could be heard murmuring words of comfort as they both came down from their high.
Just when Bella was about to say something, the sound of Emmett's voice interrupted her. "Oh, baby, that's it! Lick it just like that," Emmett moaned, his voice deep and guttural. "You have the most amazing tongue, Rosie. That's it. Keep doing that. Ahhh, yeah! You know we need to pick up a new sex swing," he continued, his voice heavy with desire. "I loved the one we had in Forks." Bella could unfortunately now hear a loud sucking sound, and soon after, Emmett moaned, "Oh god, I'm coming baby!"
Bella looked at Edward in disbelief. "Holy shit! You've had to listen to this for a hundred years?" she exclaimed.
Edward looked away, but nodded slowly, clearly embarrassed by the whole situation.
Feeling bold, Bella decided to bring up her own desires. "You know, Edward," she said, her voice playful, "now that I'm a vampire, maybe we could go up to our room and try some new things out too. Maybe it would be nice for a change for them to hear us?"
Edward looked at Bella with a slight unease. "I don't think that would be appropriate, Bella. We should really be married first before we further our relationship," he said, his voice firm.
Bella had voiced her opposition to marriage to Edward multiple times before, and she didn't know if she ever wanted to tie the knot. She had hoped that Edward would understand her perspective and not keep bringing it up.
"We don't have to do everything, Edward. Maybe we can just go a little further and have some fun," Bella said, snuggling up closer to Edward and wrapping her arms around him. She whispered into his ear, "Wouldn't you like that?"
Edward stuttered, "I think it's too soon for things like that, Bella. You've only been a vampire for a few days and we have to take that into account. Your thinking has not stabilized yet with your new vampire mind."
Bella couldn't help but feel a little frustrated. She felt like her mind was perfectly fine, and it was Edward's old-fashioned thinking that was the problem. But she didn't want to argue, not with the sounds of their family's sexual escapades still echoing in her mind.
"Fine," she said, trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice. "Then let's get out of here for a bit. It sounds like they are starting up again. Let's go for a run. I'm hungry anyway."
As they stepped outside, a cool breeze hit Bella's face, instantly relaxing her and easing her discomfort from being inside and listening to her families sexual activities. Her body felt light and powerful as she began to run. She glanced over at Edward who was running beside her, and she couldn't help but smile. She loved everything about being a vampire, the speed, the strength, the heightened senses.
Bella spotted a mountain in the distance and shouted, "Race you to the top of that mountain!" Edward nodded, a grin spreading across his face as they took off at an even faster pace.
As the weeks passed, Bella slowly but surely gained control over her new vampire emotions. Each day, she looked forward to her training sessions with Jasper, which quickly became the highlight of her day. At the start of her training, Jasper had sat Bella down and carefully explained what her training would entail. Bella thought about what Jasper had said that day.
Jasper looked at Bella with a serious expression and said, "Bella, I'm not going to sugarcoat this, learning to fight as a vampire is going to be one of the hardest things you'll ever do. When vampires fight, it can get extremely physical, and I can promise you that in the beginning you're going to get knocked down so many times, you won't know what way is up." He paused, taking a deep breath, "But, if you stick with it, I promise you that you'll be a deadly fighter."
Jasper went on to explain that he would be teaching Bella both defensive and offensive moves, and that it would take time and a lot of practice to master them. "I know you have a gift that would seemingly help you in a fight, but while I am teaching you don't use it and don't ever rely on it," he cautioned. "Learn to fight with your own abilities, and I promise you they will never fail you. I've seen too many vampires lose their lives when they rely solely on their 'gifts'. Become a great fighter, and let any ability you might have just be an added bonus."
Bella nodded in understanding, taking in Jasper's words. She was determined to become a skilled fighter and to not rely on her gift alone. Jasper smiled at her determination and asked, "Now, are you ready to get your ass kicked again and again?" Bella smiled back and nodded, excited to begin her training with Jasper.
Bella was determined to become a great fighter, even though she was constantly getting knocked down. She was grateful for Jasper's patience and guidance, and Emmett's company during her training. "Come on, Bella, give me your best shot!" Emmett taunted, grinning widely as they sparred one day. Bella focused on her technique and managed to land a hard punch to Emmett's chest knocking him back into a tree which fell over. "Ha! You're improving, kid," Emmett said smiling as he got up and dusted himself off.
After a month of daily training, Bella felt like a different vampire. She felt like she had gained more strength, agility, and confidence than she had ever thought possible. She was nowhere close to beating Jasper, but there fights were now lasting longer. "You're doing great, Bella," Jasper encouraged her, as they took a break to talk. "You're learning faster than I expected. Soon you'll be ready to face any challenger."
Bella could now take down Emmett more often than he would care to admit. Bella enjoyed fighting with Emmett because he was fun, but he was not much of a teacher.
Bella's only disappointment was Edward's lack of interest in her training. "Why do you bother with that, Bella? You already have the a powerful gift" he would say, "and I'll always be there to protect you" Bella sighed, feeling frustrated. She wanted Edward's support, not his criticism. She tried to talk to him about it, but he always seemed distant and aloof and she didn't really feel he listened to what she was trying to tell him. Bella didn't know what to do about it, so she threw herself into her training even more.
Bella's powers were a frequent topic of discussion, especially with Carlisle and Jasper. They believed her power was a shield, which had manifested itself physically when Bella first woke up as a vampire. They suspected there were other aspects of her power that she had not yet experienced, as evidenced by the destruction of the house, the incident with Edward and the unusual happenings right before Bella awoke. Bella was fascinated by her power and eagerly set aside time to practice and experiment with it, but she made sure to do so far away from the house.
As the weeks turned into months, Bella's bond with the Cullen's grew stronger. They spent a lot of time together, enjoying each other's company and going on fun outings. Whether it was a group hunting trip or simply exploring the wilderness, they always found ways to have a good time together. Bella felt like she had finally gotten the big family she always wanted, and the Cullen's welcomed her with open arms.
On one of their hunting trips, they stumbled upon a spacious clearing, large enough to hold a Cullen-style baseball game. The following week, they returned to the spot and enjoyed a fun-filled game.
"Bella, you're up to bat!" Emmett exclaimed, grinning.
Bella stepped up to the plate, and with Edward's encouraging smile, she felt more confident. She hit the ball with all her might and watched as it sailed over the trees.
"Home run!" Alice shouted, clapping in excitement.
Bella's face lit up with joy, "I did it!" she exclaimed, jumping up in the air with elation.
"You need to run around the bases for it to count, Bella," Edward said, smiling at her.
"Oh, shit!" Bella blurted out, realizing her mistake, and then quickly began zooming around the bases, finally making it home before Carlisle could throw the ball to home plate.
The whole team laughed and cheered as Bella celebrated her successful hit. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Bella longed for human interaction, and to be a part of the world again. However, she was aware that she needed to take things slow and be cautious when it came to her thirst. She knew that one wrong move could cause her to lose control, and she didn't want to put anyone in danger.
As time went by, Bella's self-control grew stronger, and she became more confident in her ability to resist the urge to drink human blood. She knew that the time would soon come when she would have to test her limits and try some minor interactions with humans. She was eager to see how well she would handle herself in the presence of humans, and she hoped that everything would go smoothly.
Despite becoming a vampire, Bella maintained contact with her parents through phone calls and emails. They believed she was in college in the East Coast with Edward and she told them she was having a great time. When Edward had suggested faking her death, Bella was filled with anger and had told him he could go to hell. However, the possibility of visiting her parents without revealing her true nature was something that she couldn't ignore. Bella discussed it in depth with Alice, who was ever the optimist. Alice assured her that they could come up with a plan, using makeup and even prosthetics to make Bella look like she was aging, whenever she decided to visit her parents. It was a relief for Bella to have a plan in place, and the prospect of seeing her parents again filled her with both excitement and trepidation.
Alice put her hand on Bella's shoulder, a gleam in her eye. "The way I see it," she told Bella, "Your transformation made you look about two or maybe three years older than your actual 19 and a half years. So, you should be fine to see your parents for the next 5 years or so without raising any suspicions. After that, we can use makeup or changing your clothes and appearance to add another 5 to maybe 10 years to your age. Then we would probably have to use prosthetics or other extreme measures but that's so far away in the future we don't have to worry about it now."
Bella let out a sigh of relief and wrapped her arms around Alice in a tight hug. "Thank you so much, Alice. I can't express how much this means to me," she said, feeling grateful for her friend's help. "When my newborn year is over, we'll go on one of your shopping trips, and to top it off, I'll even promise to buy some dresses," she added with a small smile.
Alice let out a high-pitched squeal of joy, jumping up and down like a child. "Oh, Bella, you have no idea how excited I am! It'll be so much fun!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
