A/N: Hello dear readers. How has everyone been? Well, I hope. We are switching gears here a bit to show what Nen is up to and introduce more characters. Exciting.

Enjoy!

Nen had been traveling nearly nonstop to head south. He was on one track and couldn't rest even when his body demanded that he did. He was used to pushing himself to his limitations even though he knew there was no need to.

It had only been a few weeks when he reached the border to the south unsure what direction to look from there. Sniffing out other demons he asked questions about the southern house being met with anger, fear, and skepticism.

Finally an older demon gave him a direct route to where the house had once stood. Finding it to be nothing more than a hollow shell of what was once a mansion he entered.

Apprehensively he made his way through the rotted and broken interior looking for any sign of what may have occurred but finding none after so many centuries had passed.

The place was unfamiliar to him as much as he wanted some clue or memory of it. Wandering the halls and coming to empty rooms that had been exposed to the elements he wondered which one had been his mothers.

Nothing was left as he assumed it had been pillaged long ago. Leaving left him feeling more discouraged and he decided he would have to seek out his fathers sister and by default the soldier who had taken them, Haruki.

Wandering even further south he found himself getting closer to human villages and debated on if he should approach them. While he was comfortable around humans he knew they may not be so around him being a demon.

Keeping on the outskirts of one to study and gauge it he decided he could enter. He appeared human enough and unless there were a priestess or monk whom sensed his energy he felt relatively safe that he could pass as one of them.

Coming to the path he approached some teenage boys who had seen him.

"Are you a soldier?" One of them asked taking in his appearance.

"I am. Currently however I am a traveler." Nen replied.

"What house do you serve?" The other questioned.

"I serve a compound in the west." He answered vaguely. "I am searching for someone."

"What lord do you serve under?" The first asked.

"Lord Sesshomaru and Lord Kohaku." He said.

"Never heard of them." The boy stated.

"Is this how we greet people now?" A woman said coming up to them. "Please forgive my sons. There have been villages that have been pillaged as of late by bandits."

"No apology needed. I understand." Nen said with a nod.

"Do you need lodging or food? I have a small restaurant with a spare room that I am more than happy to rent out." She offered.

"No need. I am looking for information that may sound odd."

"Oh? What might that be?"

"I am searching for a demon female that once was lady to a house in the south many years ago." Nen began. "From my understanding she has led a nomadic life for some time."

"What do you want with a demon? No good will come from associating with demons." The second boy said.

"Enough. Both of you, get on with your chores." She scolded glancing at both of them sharply. Waiting until they left their mother brought her attention back to Nen.

"Again, I apologize. My sons are more human than demon." She said. As she spoke Nen felt her energy shift.

"You are a halfbreed." He said softly.

"I am. No one knows of course. I sensed your demonic energy when you were someways off." She said. "Now, the lady you are searching for, do you have any other information about her?"

"She is Lady Yoake of the southern house of the star. I went to the compound but there is nothing left."

"What business do you have with her?" The woman questioned suddenly eying him carefully.

"I have come to learn that we are pack by blood."

"Pack by blood? That isn't possible. Lady Yoakes only relations are her children."

"You know her?"

"Once. A long time ago."

"Did you know her brother, Lord Yami?"

"No. She assisted my mother when her clan exiled her for having relations with a demon and had me."

"Do you have any idea where she may be?"

"Who are you?"

"I am called Nen. I believe my father was Lord Yami and my mother was Lady Ai of the southern house of the moon."

"Oh." She answered. "Yoake and Haru tend to travel west of here."

"Thank you." He said gratefully.

"You do know that everyone believes you to be dead, yes?"

"Yes. I am aware." Nodding his head to her once he turned to leave.

"When you find her please tell her that Koneko sends her regards." The woman requested. Giving a small gesture to acknowledge her Nen changed his direction.
