Part XI 'Fun, Family, and New Friends'
Chapter 35
As the plane touched down in Denver, Bella reflected on the crazy year she just had. Her time in Paris had been wonderful immersing herself in a new culture and leaning new skills. Her visit with the Volturi had been perfect and Bella had loved meeting new vampires and made some lifelong friends along the way. She had visited her parents again and still could not believe that Charlie was getting married next year.
After picking up her bags she scanned the terminal looking for the Cullens. Finally, she spotted them, and before she could even utter a greeting, she was enveloped in Esme's warm embrace.
"Oh Bella. We've missed you so much," Esme exclaimed, her eyes shining with joy. "It's so good to have you back with us."
Bella grinned, feeling the love and warmth radiating from her vampire family. "I missed you all too, Esme," she replied. "It's great to be back."
Esme stepped back and took a good look at Bella, her eyes taking in every inch of her. As she observed her, Esme couldn't help but notice how different Bella seemed from the last time they saw each other. There was a newfound confidence and comfort in her own skin that was palpable. Bella's body had a looseness to it that Esme did not remember her having before, and there was an air of self-assurance that Esme found refreshing. Esme was pleased with these changes in Bella, and she couldn't help but smile as she thought to herself how much she admired the young woman standing before her. "You look different," she said, studying her closely, and the words came out as a genuine compliment.
Bella beamed, proud of the changes she had undergone. "Thanks, Esme. I do feel different. More powerful, in a way. I've learned so much this past year."
Esme nodded understandingly. "I can imagine. And I'm so excited to hear all about it. Why don't we all head back to the house before we start to catch up."
"That sounds like a great idea. I have so much to tell you guys" as Bella turned to all the other Cullens and rushing to hug each of them tightly. "I've missed all of you greatly." As Bella finished hugging the Cullens, she noticed that Edward had finally returned. She went up to him and hugged him like all the rest. As she was hugging him she whispered in his ear. "It's good to see you, Edward. I'm glad you're back."
Edward looked at Bella fondly as she released him, "It's good to see you too, Bella. I returned several months ago. I had been missing the family."
Bella thought Edward looked the same, which she considered a positive thing, smiling at everyone she said boldly. "Okay let's get the show on the road. Who am I riding with?"
"You can ride with us, Bella," said Alice, while Jasper hopped into the driver's seat and Edward got in the back behind Alice.
As Bella got in behind Jasper, she looked at the three family members around her, feeling happy to be back with them. As they drove, Bella noticed that Edward seemed quiet. She thought he probably did not know how he should act around her. She watched him for a little bit, then decided to talk to him in his head, similar to how she pushed a message to Aro. She lowered her mental shield just enough which allowed Edward to hear the message she wanted him to read with his ability.
"I am happy to see you, Edward. How was your time away?" Edward looked up in surprise, it had sounded like Bella in his head but how was that possible he thought. He looked at Bella in shock. His ability caught more of what Bella wanted to say, "Yes, it's me, Edward. You can talk to me you know. I won't bite." Bella was now smiling at him. Edward looked at Bella intently for a while, and Bella realized he must be talking back to her in his head.
Bella started to giggle and said out load. "You know I can't read minds, Edward. If you want me to hear you, at least your side of the conversation will have to be said out loud."
Edward looked sheepish. "You're right, Bella. You threw me for a loop for a minute when you started to talk to me in my head. How are you doing that?"
"Oh, it's easy to control my mental shield. I can lower it enough so that what I want to convey can be heard by you. I could even lower it altogether for you to hear my thoughts, but don't expect that to happen anytime soon," Bella said, knocking her shoulder into Edward and smiling.
Bella started to laugh. "You should have seen Aro's face when he took my hand to read me, and I allowed him to hear that I had exposed vampires to the human race and had sent a flock of reporters to Volterra to interview him. It was priceless," Bella reminisced.
Edward looked shocked "You did that to Aro Volturi? How are you still alive?" He couldn't believe Bella had done something that reckless.
"You have the wrong view of the Volturi, Edward," she began, turning to face him. "I found them to be very nice and made friends with many of them, including the Kings."
"Even Caius?" Edward exclaimed, clearly taken aback by her words.
"Not at first," Bella admitted. "He had some strong opinions on anyone with the last name Cullen, as you might remember. But by the end of my stay, we were on good terms and we liked to spar together and joke around. He has a very dry sense of humor."
Edward seemed skeptical, but Bella continued. "Actually, Caius had good things to say about you, Jasper," she added, turning to Jasper in the drivers seat. "He respects your skills as a fighter. I think that means more to him than anything else."
Jasper chuckled, his eyes sparkling. "Really? The last time we met, he tried to kill me. We had a pretty contested battle, and I was about to end him when more of the guard arrived. Alec put an end to the confrontation, and Maria had to make a lot of concessions before she and I, and only a handful of others, were allowed to live."
Bella frowned, "Well, it's good to know he has a healthy respect for your abilities, at least."
As the car cruised down the winding road, Bella turned to Edward and asked, "So, Edward, what have you been up to these last few years?"
"Not too much," Edward replied with a shrug. "I traveled through a lot of Japan. The culture is so different over there, and I find it fascinating."
"Are there many Asian vampires?" Bella asked, her curiosity piqued. "I've never met or even heard of any before."
Edward nodded. "Yes, there are some in Japan, and there are some ancient covens in China. They are pretty isolated and like to stick to their home countries. After Japan, I went to South America. I have always liked Rio de Janeiro."
"South America sounds interesting," Bella mused. "I'd love to travel down the Amazon and search for ancient Inca ruins. Have any of you done that before?"
"We haven't searched for ancient ruins," Alice chimed in. "But we have traveled the Amazon River and visited with a nomadic coven of Amazonian women who live in the area."
Bella's eyes lit up at the thought of meeting new vampires. "Really? That sounds so exciting. Someday can we go?"
Jasper grinned. "Sure, Bella. It would be great to show you around and introduce you to some of our friends."
Bella turned to Alice and gave her a grateful squeeze on the shoulder. "Thanks for sending those packages to my parents, Alice. They loved them."
"It was nothing, Bella," Alice replied. "But I have to say, you really went all out with those shipments from Paris. Did you buy up the entire art district or what?"
Bella chuckled. "No, I just made a lot of pieces while I was over there. When you can't sleep and you're alone, you have to do something to pass the time. So, I practiced all the different forms of art I learned in school. And I even made presents for everyone. I'll give them to you all later, but no peeking into the future, Alice. I want everything to be a surprise."
Alice grinned. "I haven't seen anything yet, so your secrets are safe for the moment."
Just then, Bella's phone started to vibrate. She took it out and grinned as she saw she had a new text from Jill.
Jill: "Hey girl, you back in town? I need my partner in crime!"
Bella quickly replied.
Bella: "Yeah, just got in. Spending a few days with fam, but down to party after that."
Jill: "Fuck yeah, missed you so much! You know I got us covered, we're hitting up our fave club and getting fucked up."
Bella giggled at Jill's message, but couldn't resist teasing her back. "You better not be trying to set me up with some rando, Jilly."
Jill replied with a string of laughing emojis. "Please, I know you can handle yourself. But if there's any cute guys, I'm not making any promises. ;)"
Bella rolled her eyes but couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of a wild night out with her best friend. She quickly texted back, "Ha, fair enough. Let's invite the rest of the crew too and make it a real shitshow. See you soon, babe!"
As she put her phone away, Bella noticed Alice was having a vision. Edward looked like he had seen something too, but Bella held up her hand to stop him from commenting. "Don't tell me anything, guys. Unless it's bad news, I don't want to know. I just want to have a fun night out with my friends."
Bella smiled, feeling grateful to have friends like Jill who knew how to make even the most mundane night into an unforgettable memory.
As they arrived at the Cullens' home, Bella felt a wave of warmth wash over her. It was so good to be back with her family, in the comfort of the familiar living room. They all settled in, eager to catch up on each other's lives. Bella was bursting with stories about her past year, and the Cullens were all ears, soaking up her tales of adventure and mishap.
Bella regaled them with her funny classroom antics and the crazy things her friends had gotten up to. She shared stories about her travels, her fun times with the Volturi, and her newfound artistic interests. Every now and then, one of the Cullens would interject with a comment or a question, and Bella would happily elaborate on her adventures.
The room was alive with laughter as Bella recounted her most ridiculous moments, and the Cullens joined in, their smiles reflecting the joy and warmth of the moment. "You'll like this one." Bella had just gotten to one of her prouder moments. "Heidi and Chelsea challenged me to a 2-on-1 match. The losers had to eat whatever the winner chose. You should have seen the looks of confidence on their faces before the fight. After I won, I took them to a farm out in the countryside. Hang on, I have pictures on my phone." She took her phone out and showed them pictures of Heidi and Chelsea sucking on their pigs. Chelsea had such a sad look on her face as she drank. Everyone was laughing.
"You should have seen their faces and clothes when they finished. Heidi complained that she smelled like the farm for more than a week."
"What would have happened if you had lost, Bella?" Carlisle asked, slightly concerned.
"Well, we all know what would have happened, but I had fought both Heidi and Chelsea many times before. I had no doubt that I could beat them both easily," Bella replied confidently.
Bella continued her storytelling as she recounted more of her time spent in France, describing her experiences in the sculpture class.
"And then," she said, "my teacher Pierre, who I must say is just as good as any of the classical masters, asked me to be his model for a sculpture he's been planning. The sculpture is breathtaking, truly a masterpiece. I really think it will help him make his mark in the world. I have pictures of it, you will all love it."
Bella found some pictures on her phone and handed it to Emmett, asking him to pass them around. Emmett began looking at the photos and exclaimed, "Wow, Bella, you were right! This sculpture is amazing. He really captured your likeness. Take a look, Rosie."
Rosalie took the phone from Emmett and started scrolling through the photos, saying, "It's really breathtaking, Bella. You must be proud to have been involved in its creation."
"I was really proud to be a part of it. It was definitely one of the highlights of my year," Bella replied with a smile as Rosalie handed the phone over to Edward.
As Edward took the phone, he noticed something and asked, "Bella, this statue is nude. Did you pose that way?" His tone was slightly concerned.
"Of course, I posed nude," Bella replied confidently. "I posed after class each night. It actually felt quite liberating, to be truthful." She couldn't help but feel proud of herself for having posed in such a way.
As Edward studied the pictures intently, he raised a concern, "What if someone had walked in and seen you?"
Bella was getting annoyed by Edward's puritanical views. "The entire class must have seen me standing there naked at some point or another, Edward. It was not a big deal. France is much more open to nudity than America."
Edward, still looking at the pictures, got up slowly but was kind of bent over, saying he had to go somewhere real quick, and ran out the front door. The room was silent as the door slammed shut.
Bella had to ask, "Is he going to do what I think he's doing?"
"Unfortunately, yes," Alice piped in with a frown.
"He does realize he could have had the real thing, right?" Bella asked, but none of the Cullens seemed to want to talk about it.
After that awkward moment, Bella decided to return to her stories.
"Rosalie you'll like this. The Volturi possess the most stunning assortment of European sports cars. In addition to that, some of the guard own high-end motorcycles too. One night, Heidi and I went riding through the countryside. It was amazing, I'm done with my Honda. Later today, can we please go online and start looking for a motorcycle for me? Riding along the open road felt so serene and calming."
"Sounds like a great idea, Bella. I'd love to go bike shopping with you," Rosalie said, excitedly. "I can show you all the pictures of the bikes I've owned over the years. Who knows, maybe I'll even end up getting a new one with you."
For the rest of the day, Bella caught up with the Cullens, she was eager to hear all about what they had been up to during her absence as well. They shared stories and laughter, from Alice's latest fashion finds to Emmett's epic hunting adventures, they regaled Bella with tales that kept her riveted and entertained. Edward finally came back but no one questioned him on his disappearance.
Later that night, as the stories wound down and the chatter slowed, Alice suddenly spoke up with a bright smile on her face. "Bella, you sure did have a lot of packages sent from Paris," she exclaimed, clearly instigating present time.
Bella knew exactly what Alice was up to and chuckled. "I see through you, Alice," she said, turning to address the whole group. "Okay, everyone, let's take a quick break while I gather everything, and then I have some gifts for you all."
She had been practicing different forms of art every night and had created numerous pieces as gifts for her friends and family. Over the year, she had developed a fondness for painting and wood carving. She had taken classes in both forms and loved them both. They were also two of the few art forms she could easily practice in her apartment.
"I'll go get them, everyone. Alice, can you please let me know where the boxes are, and I'll bring everything down here?" Bella looked towards her friend, ready to hand out her gifts.
After Alice told Bella, she nodded at Alice and made her way to the room at the back of the hall on the second floor. As she entered the room, she was immediately taken aback by the sheer number of boxes and crates, all containing her artwork. It had cost her a small fortune to have everything shipped back, but Bella had come to realize that it was okay to spend money for the right reasons. She had always been frugal with money, but when it came to things that mattered to her, like her art, Bella was more than happy to spend what was required.
As she began to unpack her crates, Bella felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. Each piece of art she unwrapped was like a treasure, a memory of her time in Paris. And then, she came to a painting that held a special place in her heart. It was a painting of her classroom with her posing for Pierre as he carved his magnificent statue of her. In the painting, she was turned away from the viewer, her backside on full display. But the main focus of the painting was the figure of Pierre, standing on a ladder, chisel in hand, as he brought the statue to life.
As she looked upon the painting, Bella felt a sense of pride and nostalgia wash over her. She remembered the day Pierre had finished the statue, the way he had looked at her with such adoration and respect. And now, looking at the painting, she was able to relive what it felt like to be there all over again.
As Bella continued to unpack, her eyes landed on another painting that caught her attention. In this painting, she was fully nude, standing in front of a full-length mirror in her Paris apartment. The piece was a study of different perspectives, as the viewer could see both her backside, which she had painted onto the canvas, and her front side, which was reflected in the mirror.
As she gazed at the painting, Bella felt a sense of wonder and appreciation for her body. Being a vampire, she knew that her body was perfect, but in creating this piece, it wasn't about showcasing her looks. It was about capturing a moment of raw vulnerability and creating something personal and meaningful.
Bella remembered the process of creating this painting, the hours she had spent studying herself in the mirror, finding the perfect angle to capture the essence of her body. She had worked tirelessly, determined to create a piece of art that was both a reflection of herself and a work of beauty. And now, looking at the finished product, she felt a sense of accomplishment and pride.
As she continued to study the painting, Bella noticed the small details that she had included, the way the light reflected off her skin, the way the colors blended together to create a sense of depth and texture. It wasn't just about her beauty, but about the emotions that she had managed to capture and convey through her artwork.
Bella's eyes fell on the next painting, a fierce depiction of Jake in his wolf form mid-air, ready to tear into Laurent. The image captured a moment of fierce bravery, as Jake prepared to defend Bella from Laurent, a dangerous vampire who had threatened her life. Though Bella had not witnessed the actual event, Jake had described it to her in great detail, and the painting made her feel as though she had been there.
The painting was a testament to Jake's courage and strength, as well as his loyalty to Bella. She could see the determination in his eyes, the muscles in his powerful body tense and ready for action. The image was both frightening and beautiful, capturing the raw power and grace of the wolf.
Bella knew that the painting would mean a lot to Jake, and she hoped that it might help to heal the rift between them. Their relationship was quite strained at the moment, and she missed the closeness they had once shared. Perhaps this gift would be a step towards rebuilding their friendship.
As Bella continued to look through her artwork, she realized that she could spend hours lost in thought, admiring the beauty and complexity of her creations. However, she knew that she needed to focus on selecting the pieces to give as gifts, so she quickly gathered them and brought them down to the living room.
After making sure that all the gifts were wrapped and ready, Bella called everyone in to the living room. As the Cullens settled into their seats, she took a deep breath and turned to Carlisle, the patriarch of the Cullen family.
"Ok, let's start with you Carlisle." Bella carefully handed the large wrapped gift to Carlisle with a smile. The wrapping paper was a deep shade of blue with tiny flecks of gold, and it was tied together with a shimmering gold ribbon. As Carlisle carefully untied the ribbon, Bella watched him with anticipation. She had worked on the painting tirelessly, pouring all her passion and love for the Cullen family into it trying to get everyone just right in the painting.
Carlisle's eyes widened in surprise as he finally removed the wrapping paper to reveal the painting beneath. The canvas was huge, easily spanning four feet in width and three feet in height. It depicted the entire Cullen family together in the very room they were all currently occupying. The room itself was highly detailed, from the intricate pattern of the wallpaper to the delicate crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
In the center of the painting, Carlisle and Esme stood together, Carlisle's arm lovingly around her waist. Esme's expression was one of pure joy and contentment, while Carlisle's was one of quiet pride. On the sofa in front of them sat the other six members of the Cullen family, each one perfectly captured in their individuality and personality.
Jasper sat on the far left side of the sofa, his arm casually draped around Alice's shoulders. They were both smiling brightly, as if sharing a private joke. Edward sat next to Bella, his arm resting on the back of the sofa. The two of them were clearly very happy, their faces radiant with joy.
Rosalie was sitting next to Bella, a mischievous glint in her eye as she laughed at something Emmett was doing. Emmett at the end of the sofa was making a ridiculous face, his tongue sticking out and his eyes crossed. The entire painting was incredibly lifelike, every detail rendered in loving and painstaking detail.
As Carlisle looked at the painting, he couldn't help but be amazed by how perfectly Bella had captured their family. "Thank you, Bella," he said, turning to her with a smile. "This is truly wonderful. I can't wait to hang it up in my study."
Bella beamed with happiness as she stepped forward to hug Carlisle. "I'm so glad you like it," she said, feeling a warm sense of pride and accomplishment. "This is how I've always pictured us if we were going to take a family photo."
Bella wanted to give Esme's present next. The large box contained something that she had put a lot of time and effort into, and she was excited to finally reveal it to Esme. "Esme, this one would be hard to wrap, so let's open it up together," Bella said, carefully removing the lid of the box. Inside was a stunning flower pot that stood at least two feet tall.
The pot was a perfect miniature replica of the Cullen house in Forks. Esme gasped in awe as she took in the intricacy of the design. The sides of the flower pot were carved to match the house's exact features, including the detailed woodwork and window frames. Even the roof, minus the hole for the dirt and flowers, had been meticulously created with shingles and intricate details, just like the real house had once been.
But the most amazing thing about the flower pot was that it was designed with the same attention to detail on the back as it was on the front. Instead of being a solid piece of clay, the back of the flower pot was made of clear glass, allowing Esme to see inside the tiny rooms and admire the detailed furnishings Bella had set up. It was as if she could peer into the windows and see the family going about their daily lives.
Esme was touched beyond words. "Bella, it's incredible. How did you make something so beautiful?" she asked, turning the pot around in her hands.
Bella smiled. "I've been working on it for months. I wanted to create something special for you, something that would bring back happy memories of the house you loved so much."
Esme hugged Bella tightly, grateful for the thoughtful gift. "Thank you so much, Bella. This is such a special present. I'm going to put it in my drafting room so I can see it every day. And I know exactly what flowers I'm going to plant in it too," she said, beaming.
The rest of the family gathered around to admire the flower pot, marveling at the incredible level of detail that Bella had put into it. They all agreed that it was the perfect gift for Esme, and they could already imagine it sitting on the side table, filled with beautiful blooms and reminding them all of their happy times in Forks.
Next, Bella carefully placed a large flat box on the coffee table and handed one more box to both Emmett and Jasper. She couldn't wait to see their reaction. "Emmett, Jasper, I made your gifts together. I know how much you enjoy playing games together so I made you this." Bella said, excitement building in her voice. "Why don't you open the large box first?" she suggested.
Emmett and Jasper eagerly tore open the large box and their eyes widened as they looked at the gorgeous chess board inside. The board was made of thick, polished wood, and was intricately carved with various shapes and objects. Each side of the board was different, with its own unique carving. It was clear that a lot of time and effort had gone into making this beautiful board.
"You'll understand the board's layout in a minute," Bella said with a grin. "Why don't you open the other gifts now?" she suggested.
Emmett went first and opened his box to find a highly detailed set of wooden chess pieces. The pieces were each around 5 inches in height and were all different superheroes. The rooks, bishops, and knights were all different heroes, each with a different pose. The king piece was a representation of Emmett in the Superman suit, with all the figures painted in fine detail to look like action figures.
"These are amazing, Bella! I love them. Thank you so much. I can't wait to see what Jasper's look like so we can play a game," Emmett said, his eyes shining with excitement.
Jasper was next to open his gift, and he smiled widely as he saw the highly detailed figures inside. His chess set had a Civil War theme, with figures that were so realistic they looked like they had been plucked right out of history. The king piece was clearly Jasper in his Major's uniform, sitting on his horse giving commands to his troops. All of the pieces had been carefully painted, and each one was a true work of art.
"This is amazing, Bella. Thank you so much," Jasper said, his voice filled with emotion. He had never seen a chess set with such detailed pieces before, and to have his own likeness on the king piece was incredibly special to him.
Both Emmett and Jasper stood up and hugged Bella tightly, thanking her for the amazing gifts. They moved the board and pieces to the dining room table so they could play a game when the presents were done, admiring the intricate details of the pieces and the beautiful carvings on the board. Bella watched them with a sense of pride and satisfaction, happy to have given them gifts that they would treasure for years to come.
Bella watched with anticipation as Rosalie unwrapped the large present, eager to see her reaction to the painting she had spent countless hours working on. As the wrapping paper fell away, Bella held her breath, hoping that Rosalie would appreciate the effort and thought she had put into the gift.
Rosalie's eyes widened as she gazed at the painting, taking in every exquisite detail. The piece was like a window back in time, a snapshot of a bygone era. The street in the painting was clearly from the late 1950s, and the main building was a garage with the words "Rosie's Garage" emblazoned on the front. The garage doors were open, and there stood a beautiful rendition of Rosalie, smiling as she worked on a 1957 Chevy that looked just like the one she and Bella had restored together.
Bella had captured every detail perfectly, from the way the sunlight filtered through the windows to the grease on Rosalie's hands. The painting was like a snapshot of a moment frozen in time, and Rosalie couldn't help but be moved by it.
"It's beautiful," Rosalie breathed, her eyes shining with appreciation as she gazed at the painting. "It's like a Norman Rockwell picture."
Bella felt a surge of pride at Rosalie's words, knowing that she had succeeded in capturing the essence of what she had envisioned. She watched as Rosalie made her way over to her, wrapping her in a tight embrace.
"I love it, Bella," Rosalie said, her voice filled with emotion. "Thank you so much."
Bella smiled back at her, "I'm so glad you like it."
Rosalie looked up at her, a wide grin on her face. "Let's hang it up in the garage later," she suggested. "We can admire it as we work together on our next project."
Bella grinned back at her, feeling a sense of warmth in her chest. "That sounds perfect."
"Ok Alice. I guess you've waited long enough." Bella was excited to finally give Alice her gift. She had put a lot of thought and effort into it, and she knew Alice would appreciate it. As Alice sat on the couch, surrounded by the rest of the Cullen family, Bella handed her a beautifully wrapped box. "This is for you, Alice!" Bella said with a grin. Alice smiled in anticipation and began to unwrap the gift. As she opened the box, her eyes widened in surprise.
Inside the box was a stunning, intricately carved jewelry box made of polished wood. The craftsmanship was exceptional, and the wood had a beautiful sheen to it. As Alice opened the lid, a beautiful instrumental melody of "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash started to play. Alice looked up at Bella with a surprised expression. "Thank you, Bella! I really love it," Alice said with a smile. "It's even more beautiful than how I saw it in my vision. And I really love the song you chose. It's a beautiful touch."
Bella beamed with happiness. "I'm glad you like it, Alice. I found a company online that makes old style wind up music box mechanisms for newer songs, and I thought that one was pretty spot on for you."
The rest of the Cullen family gathered around Alice, admiring the beautiful jewelry box and the melody that filled the room. Alice stood up and hugged Bella tightly, grateful for such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift.
All that was left was Edward's gift, and Bella hoped that he would like it. As she handed Edward the large wrapped painting, she felt concerned, hoping that it wouldn't bring up any negative feelings from their past relationship. Bella had poured her heart into the piece, hoping to capture a moment that was special to both of them.
"I made this piece for you, Edward. It's a memory from one of the happiest times in my life, and I hope you have positive happy memories of it as well," Bella said, praying that Edward would like it.
As Edward unwrapped the painting, Bella held her breath, watching his reaction carefully. When he finally laid eyes on it, he was speechless, and Bella felt a wave of relief wash over her. The painting depicted the two of them sitting together in the Forks cafeteria, surrounded by their friends and family.
The details were incredible - Bella looked just as she did when she was human, with a happy smile on her face and her eyes fixed on Edward. He, in turn, was smiling back at her, looking at her with love in his eyes. In the background, you could see the rest of the lunchroom, with the other Cullens sitting at one table and Bella's human friends at another.
For a long moment, Edward just stared at the painting, taking in every detail. Finally, he spoke, his voice soft and filled with emotion. "Thank you, Bella. This is... incredible. I have happy memories of this time too. I'll always cherish this."
Bella felt a lump form in her throat as she walked over to Edward and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm so glad you like it," she whispered, hugging him tightly. It was a moment that she knew was profound - a moment of healing and closure for them both.
As the gift-giving came to a close, Bella felt a sense of contentment and satisfaction wash over her. Seeing the joy and happiness on the faces of her loved ones, especially after being away from them for so long, was a feeling that she cherished. It truly was a perfect end to her reunion with her family, and Bella couldn't wait to see what the future held for them all.
