* I did not plan on writing a lemon in this chapter but Garrett was giving Bella a massage and she had her own thoughts of how the scene should end *
Chapter 46
As they landed in Boston, Bella was eager to explore the area where Garrett had grown up. She turned to him and asked, "Do you enjoy coming back here to your old stomping grounds?"
Garrett shook his head, "To be honest, Bella, I've been to Boston numerous times since I was turned, but the area where my family's farm was located has been completely rebuilt. There's nothing left from my human days."
Bella nodded in understanding, realizing the changes that time brings when you're immortal. "I see. Can you tell me some stories about what it was like back then? I would love to picture it in my mind."
Garrett smiled, "Sure thing, Bella. I have plenty of stories to share."
While they were driving to the area where Garrett was born he shared stories of his human life. Eventually, they arrived at a location he believed was close to where his family's farm used to be. They parked and stepped out of the car to take a look around. Bella observed a lovely street in a charming Boston suburb. The neighborhood was full of houses and apartment buildings, and at the end of the street, she could see a park and school. The entire area looked like an ideal place to live.
"It's a lovely area, Garrett," Bella said, admiring the location.
Garrett nodded, looking around with a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. "It used to be very different," he said, his voice tinged with a wistful tone. "This used to be farmland as far as the eye could see. My family had a small farm here. We grew crops and raised animals."
Bella looked at Garrett with interest. "That sounds nice. What was it like to grow up on a farm?"
Garrett smiled, reminiscing. "It was hard work, but I loved it. My family was self-sufficient. We didn't need much from the outside world. We were content with what we had. My parents taught me how to work the land, how to care for the animals. And I learned to appreciate the beauty of nature."
Bella listened with rapt attention, her curiosity piqued. "That sounds wonderful, Garrett. I wish I could have seen it."
Garrett shrugged. "It's all gone now, Bella. Time moved on, and the area has evolved into something completely different. At least my memories remain."
Bella didn't want Garrett to be down. "Over time, tell me everything you can about your home and the area. Then we can both have those memories, and you won't be alone in remembering. You'll never be alone again, Garrett." Bella hugged him tightly.
As Bella hugged Garrett, she frowned, became silent, and a look of horror crossed her face as she buried her head in his chest.
"What's wrong, Bella?" Garrett could see that Bella was distressed.
"I feel so awful, Garrett. I just realized I've never asked you your last name. What kind of girlfriend am I? The love of my life and I never asked your full name," Bella said, feeling embarrassed.
Garrett chuckled, wrapping Bella up in a tight hug. "It's okay, Bella. Living as a nomad, I've always really only referred to myself as Garrett when dealing with other vampires. I'd be happy to tell you. I was born Garrett Stearns."
"Garrett Stearns. I like that," Bella said, smiling as she brought her face up to kiss Garrett sweetly on the lips.
Exploring Boston with Garrett proved to be an amazing experience for Bella. As they walked through the cobblestone streets, Bella couldn't help but feel awed by the rich history and architectural beauty of Boston. Garrett had a way of making every stop along the way fascinating, sharing his knowledge of the city's past with her. She felt like she was getting a VIP tour of the city, and it was all thanks to Garrett's enthusiasm.
At Faneuil Hall, Bella was fascinated by the stories behind the building's role in American history. Garrett pointed out the spot where the Sons of Liberty had made their speeches in the lead-up to the American Revolution, and Bella couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and awe at being in such a significant location.
As they walked through the lush greenery of Boston Common, Bella felt a sense of peace wash over her. The gentle rustling of the leaves and the chirping of birds created a soothing backdrop for their conversation. Garrett pointed out some of the notable landmarks in the park, including the iconic Frog Pond and the towering Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
The next day, Bella and Garrett embarked on a leisurely stroll along the scenic Charles River. As they walked, they chatted and laughed, enjoying the cool breeze and stunning scenery. Bella was delighted to see the many sailboats and rowers gliding through the water, and Garrett couldn't help but feel captivated by the picturesque views of Boston's skyline.
Their walk eventually led them to the impressive Museum of Science, where they eagerly explored the exhibits and interactive displays. They marveled at the wonders of space and learned about the fascinating history of scientific discoveries. They even had the chance to see a live demonstration of a lightning storm, which left them both in awe.
Afterward, they made their way to the giant IMAX theater and were immediately taken aback by the massive screen. The film was breathtaking, with stunning visuals and booming sound that enveloped them in a truly immersive experience. Bella and Garrett were both thoroughly impressed, as neither had ever been to an IMAX before.
But the excitement didn't end there, as Bella found out that Garrett had bought tickets to a Celtics game. Bella had never been a basketball fan growing up, but that changed in college when she befriended several players on the team and attended several of their home games. The atmosphere in the arena was electric, with the roar of the crowd filling the air. As the game went into overtime, the tension in the arena was palpable. Bella and Garrett were on the edge of their seats, cheering on the home team with all their might. The Celtics and their opponents exchanged baskets back and forth, and the score was tied until the final seconds. With just one second left on the clock, the Celtics player made a buzzer-beater shot, sending the crowd into a frenzy of joy and celebration.
As they left the arena, the rush of adrenaline still coursing through their veins, Bella hugged Garrett tightly, thanking him for the exciting day they had just shared.
Bella and Garrett set out for Sudbury the next day to inspect the old Cullen house at Esme's request. As they approached the property, the grandeur of the large Victorian-style home, was evident even from afar. However, as they got closer, it became apparent that the house had not been lived in for decades. The white paint was peeling off in large flakes, revealing the worn-out wood underneath, and the roof had numerous missing shingles, with some parts appearing to cave in. The front porch, which was once a welcoming entryway, now resembled a collapsed stage, with missing planks and creaky posts. Ivy vines had taken over the walls, creeping up and covering most of the windows, making it impossible to see inside.
As they approached the front door, Bella noticed the once-beautiful stained glass windows on either side were impossible to see through, distorting the colors and patterns that were once present. It was clear that the house needed major renovations for it to be livable again.
Bella inserted the key into the lock and turned it slowly. As she pushed the heavy door, it let out a long, ominous creak, as though protesting against being disturbed after so many years. The sound made Bella feel like she was in a horror movie, where she was the unfortunate girl about to be murdered, opening the door to an abandoned and spooky house.
The momentary chill was soon replaced by a wave of curiosity as she stepped into the house. The air inside was stale, and the only sound was the echo of their own footsteps. Despite the darkness, Bella and Garrett had no trouble seeing in the dark. The curtains were drawn, and the windows were covered in a layer of grime and cobwebs, obscuring any sunlight that may have been able to penetrate the house's dark interior. With a bit of effort, Bella and Garrett managed to pull open the curtains, allowing a sliver of light to stream into the room, illuminating the old, peeling wallpaper and revealing the extent of the disrepair.
"Exploring an uninhabited house that has not had anyone in it for over 70 years is quite eerie," Bella remarked, taking in the sight of the furniture, all of it hidden under sheets. But as they walked around, examining each room, Bella felt a deeper appreciation for where the Cullens had called home. In the living room, an antique television set loomed large, heavy and bulky, with a small tube screen.
As Bella ascended the staircase, she noticed a row of dusty high school graduation caps. "Jesus," she said with a hint of sadness in her voice, "I thought it was amusing when I saw this at the Forks home, but seeing it here is depressing. I need to have a serious talk with Carlisle. Subjecting them to high school over and over again is like a form of torture."
Garrett nodded in agreement, "I think you should, Bella. They're all grown adults, and they should be able to voice their opinions. Maybe they've just fallen into old habits and don't know how to break out of them."
Bella nodded and replied, "Luckily for them, I'm not one to hold back. Let's continue exploring. I'll check out the upstairs, and you can explore the kitchen and basement." With that, they split up to explore the rest of the house.
As Bella explored the different rooms, she felt a strange sense of familiarity, like she could figure out who had lived in each one, even after so many decades. But then, when she entered a room with a small piano, a record player, and a cozy-looking sofa, she knew immediately that it had been Edward's. Bella picked up some of the album covers, but didn't recognize any of the music. It was a strange feeling, being in a place so familiar yet so foreign at the same time.
Bella opened a few drawers and stumbled upon an old black and white photo. The photo depicted Edward and Carlisle, and judging by their attire, Bella estimated that it was taken in the 1920s. The sight of them in their old-fashioned clothing made Bella feel uneasy, and it led her to ponder how she would feel about her current pictures a few centuries from now.
As Bella placed the picture back on the desk, her eyes were drawn to what appeared to be a journal tucked away in the drawer. She hesitated, not wanting to invade Edward's privacy, but the temptation was too great. Surely, she reasoned, reading something written so long ago wouldn't be considered snooping. With a quick flip of the cover, she realized that it was, in fact, Edward's diary. She opened it up to random entry and started to read.
June 15, 1958
Today, we were graced with the presence of Carlisle's acquaintances from the Denali coven. As always, Carmen and Elizar conducted themselves with the utmost decorum, but the insufferable Tanya was more problematic than usual. She still harbors the delusion that I might succumb to her base desires, as if I would ever stoop to such depravity with a woman of her ilk or her tawdry sisters. The indecent thoughts that constantly permeate their minds are nearly unbearable.
It had been several years since our last encounter with the Denalis, specifically since the beginning of the year 1950. Thus, it was the first time they had the pleasure of meeting Alice and Jasper. Irena, in particular, appeared to take an interest in Jasper, but he quickly put her in her place with a warning hiss. I cannot fathom why Carlisle tolerates such a brutish man's presence within our ranks. While I find Alice quite charming, her husband is altogether uncivilized, given his recent "accidental" killing of another. His thoughts betray his story, but fortunately, we were able to quash any further inquiries and avoid having to relocate.
I have come to appreciate our residence in Sudbury, and it saddens me to think we will eventually be forced to leave. Alice, Rosalie, Emmett and I recently completed our studies at the local high school, and we have all been relishing in this much-needed period of respite.
As Edward's long-winded and snobbish entries dragged on, Bella's attention began to wane. She reflected on her past attraction to him, recognizing that her tastes had changed and evolved after her transformation. While she was no longer in love with Edward, she didn't regret her past feelings for him, as they were a natural part of her journey of self-discovery. At least Edward was finally moving forward. Bella wondered how much different he would have been if he had succumbed to Tanya's advances back in the 50's. But, as she thought about it, she was glad that he didn't. The future had played out well, and she had no complaints about it.
As Bella descended the stairs, she didn't see Garrett and assumed he was still in the basement. A stack of white sheets caught her attention, and a devious idea came to her. She took one of the sheets and shook it out, then placed it on top of a good-sized sofa side pillow. With the pillow covered in the sheet, she used her shield to make it float in the air before leaving it in another room.
Back in the living room, Bella waited for Garrett, and as he returned, he asked if she had found anything interesting upstairs. Bella bided her time, waiting for the perfect moment to execute her prank. She replied, "No, it just looked like a 1950s version of everyone's rooms. I saw some old photos, which were interesting if not a little spooky. I wonder what we'll think of pictures of us now in 500 years?"
As Garrett started to answer, Bella stared intently at him as if listening closely, but in reality, she was focused on her fake ghost floating smoothly into the living room. Garrett was halfway through his thought when he yelled in fright, quickly pulling Bella behind him, presumably to protect her. However, Garrett soon caught on, likely because of Bella's snickering.
"Very funny, Bella. You got me there, I'll give you that," Garrett said. "In the future, if you have the opportunity to play the same trick on the Cullens, let me be there. I'd love to see that."
Bella gave Garrett a big hug and said, "Will do, and sorry I couldn't resist. How many times do we get to be in a spooky old haunted house?" They took a final look around the house before leaving.
After completing their inspection, Bella and Garrett locked up the house and took a few photos of the exterior to send to Esme. "You know, it's funny," Bella said with a wistful look. "Walking into the Cullen's old home is like stepping into a time capsule. It's like we're seeing a glimpse of their past life."
Garrett nodded in agreement, his eyes scanning the exterior of the house. "It's a unique experience, for sure. I can almost imagine them living here, going about their day-to-day lives."
"Exactly!" Bella exclaimed, turning to him. "It's like we're uncovering a hidden part of their history. It will be very interesting to see the place again once Esme restores it and brings it back to life. It makes me wonder what their home in Forks had looked like when they moved back in, a few years before I went to live with Charlie."
"Maybe they'll move back here once they leave Colorado," she continued, turning to Garrett. "I really like the area."
Garrett took a moment to evaluate the house before responding. "I agree. And when you decide on a career path, New England has plenty of opportunities. We could find a place to live nearby, so you could visit the Cullens often."
Bella smiled at his suggestion. "I'm glad you're thinking that way. I love the Cullens, but I don't think I could handle living in the same house. I like our private time too much," she added, giving him a playful hug.
"Let's go explore the forest a little and make sure this place is still as isolated as it used to be. Plus, I could use a snack," Bella suggested with a smile.
Without wasting any time, they ventured into the forest, and after their exploration of the forest, they spent the rest of the day exploring Massachusetts.
Later that night, they found themselves back at their hotel room. All was quiet, except for the soft sound of Bella's fingers gliding across Garrett's back. He lay face down on the bed, his body relaxed and at ease.
"God Bella, that feels so good. Your fingers feel like magic," Garrett murmured, his voice low and content.
Bella smiled to herself, continuing to massage his muscles. "I'm glad you're enjoying it," she said, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on his neck.
Bella diligently worked her hands over his back and down his spine for awhile until, Garrett suddenly sat up and turned to face her. "Let me return the favor," he said with a sly grin.
Bella grinned back, her eyes sparkling. "I'd like that," she replied, lifting her shirt over her head and tossing it to the floor.
Bella rolled over onto her back, her chest rising and falling with each breath. "Can you do my front first?" she asked, a mischievous glint in her eye.
Garrett chuckled, trailing his fingers down her stomach. "You never have to ask me if I'll message your front."
Garrett's hands were warm as he began to knead her shoulders, his touch sending shivers down her spine. He trailed his fingertips down her arms and across her chest, lightly brushing over her breasts.
Bella's breath hitched at the sensation, and she bit her lip in anticipation. Garrett's fingers circled her nipples, teasing them to hardness, before he began to knead her breasts in earnest.
He worked his way from the outside in, using his palms to press and knead her flesh, his fingers gliding over her nipples and sending waves of pleasure through her body.
Bella arched her back, pressing her breasts into his hands, urging him on. Garrett obliged, applying more pressure and focusing on the sensitive areas around her nipples.
After a few minutes, Garrett leaned down to whisper in her ear. "You have the most beautiful breasts," he said, before returning to his expert ministrations.
Bella moaned, lost in the sensation, as Garrett's hands worked their magic. She could feel herself growing wet with desire, and she knew it wouldn't be long before she was begging for more.
Garrett continued to work his way down Bella's body, his hands caressing every inch of her skin. He massaged her stomach in slow, circular motions, paying extra attention to the areas around her belly button. Then, with a gentle tug, he removed her panties, exposing her pubic region.
He could feel the heat radiating from her as he massaged her thighs, working his way closer and closer to her center. He lifted her legs slightly, allowing him better access to her inner thighs, and he ran his fingers over the soft, sensitive skin there.
With his other hand, he continued to massage her stomach, working his way lower and lower until he was just above her pubic mound. He could feel her breathing quickening, her body responding to his touch.
Garrett knew just how to touch her, how to make her feel good, and he took his time, exploring every inch of her with his hands. He could feel the tension building within her, and he knew it wouldn't be long before she was begging for more.
As Garrett finished massaging her thighs, Bella felt a sudden urge to taste him. "Garrett," she said, her voice breathy with desire. "I want to taste you."
Without a word, Garrett positioned himself over her, his member already glistening with pre-cum. Bella loved the sight of Garrett's big dick hanging down above her, pointing straight at her face. The tip, kept tickling her nose as he waited to see what she would do next. Bella eagerly lifted her head taking him into her mouth. She loved the feeling of raising her head up and down watching his thick member slide in and out. It was a sight she would never get tired of seeing. She moaned around him, the sound vibrating through his cock and sending shivers down his spine.
As Bella worked him over, Garrett looked at her and saw she was slick with arousal. He knew he wanted to taste her too, he was already on his knees with Bella under him and she seemed quite happy so he bent over further, and with his arms lifted her legs up and pulled them apart. The angle as he licked and sucked on her was not as easy in this position but Bella deserved as much attention as she was giving him and he wanted to give her as much pleasure as possible. As he used his tongue to penetrate her, he moved his hands under her ass and massaged her cheeks slowly, then lifted her up slightly so he could get a better angle for his tongue.
Bella let out a gasp of pleasure as he began to lick and suck at her, his tongue exploring every inch of her. She arched her back, pressing her center closer to his mouth as he delved deeper, his fingers soon slipping inside her to add to the sensation.
They were both so worked up that it didn't take long before they were both climaxing, the moans of their pleasure filling the room.
When it was over, they lay side by side, their bodies intertwined.
"I love you," Garrett whispered, stroking Bella's hair.
Bella smiled, nuzzling closer to him. "I love you too," she said softly, her voice filled with contentment.
Garrett rolled over to face Bella, his hand resting gently on her stomach. "Can you amuse yourself for a while? I've been putting off eating for a couple of days, and I'm getting really hungry."
Bella looked at Garrett, concern etched on her face. "Please don't hold off eating because of me. If you get hungry in the future, please tell me. I don't want you to suffer." She paused for a moment before continuing, "But if you don't mind, I would like to come with you. We're a team, and it's only right for me to want to go with you."
Garrett smiled at Bella's response. "You're more than welcome to come with me, Bella. But are you sure you're ready to see me kill a human?"
Bella's expression grew determined. "As long as you pick someone who deserves it, I think I'll be okay," Bella said, her voice steady. "I know what you are, Garrett, and I've accepted it. I want to be a part of your life, and that includes hunting. I don't want you to ever feel like your alone."
Garrett's eyes softened as he looked at Bella. "I understand, Bella. And I promise never to drink from someone you would not approve of."
They got dressed quickly and headed out into Boston. The area was rundown and dangerous, filled with people who had fallen on hard times. Garrett knew the area well, and he led Bella through the shadows until he spotted his prey.
Garrett turned to Bella, his expression grim. "You see that man over there across the street, Bella?" he asked, pointing to a dark figure lurking in the shadows. "Let's watch him for a while. I'm pretty sure he's a drug dealer."
Bella followed Garrett's gaze, her eyes narrowing as she watched the man make several transactions including one to two who looked like minors. She could see the desperation in the eyes of his customers and the way they clutched their money.
"I agree with you, Garrett," she said, her voice low. "He's preying on vulnerable people who don't need his kind of help, take that scumbag out."
Garrett nodded in agreement with Bella, his face set in determination. He quickly approached the man, moving with a speed and agility that was almost impossible to follow. The man barely had time to react before Garrett's teeth sank into his neck, draining him of his life force with a quickness that left Bella stunned.
Bella watched in fascination as Garrett fed, her eyes transfixed by the sight of the man's blood flowing into Garrett's mouth. She could feel her own hunger stirring within her, but she pushed it aside, knowing this was Garrett's time to feed.
As Garrett finished feeding, he wiped his mouth and turned to Bella, his eyes intense. "Are you okay, Bella? Did I scare you?"
Bella shook her head, her eyes shining with excitement. "No, Garrett. You didn't scare me. I'm glad we can hunt together like this. It's freeing, isn't it?"
Garrett nodded in agreement as he tossed the drug dealer's remains into the trash can and set it alight. He glanced over at Bella and felt a sense of pride and joy at how well she had adapted to his way of life.
As the flames licked at the edges of the trash can, Bella added, "But don't expect to have sex with me in any back alleys like we do when we're in the forest. It's pretty gross here."
Garrett chuckled at her comment. "Noted. We'll save that for your feeding trips."
Bella smiled and nodded. She loved how easy it was to banter with Garrett. They understood each other so well, and there was never any pressure to be anyone but themselves around each other.
As they walked away from the burning trash can, Garrett asked, "Would you like to go see a midnight show at the Boston Common theater? You can choose the movie."
Bella's eyes lit up at the idea. She had always loved going to the movies, even if she couldn't eat popcorn anymore. "Sounds great. Let's go."
They walked through the streets of Boston, the city was alive with activity, even at this late hour. As they arrived at the theater, Bella perused the list of movies playing. She finally settled on a romantic comedy, something light and fun to distract her from the sadness of witnessing the humans' addiction to the drugs being sold by that dealer.
Garrett didn't seem to mind, and they settled into their seats, enjoying the dimly-lit ambiance of the theater. Bella leaned her head against Garrett's shoulder, feeling safe and content in his embrace.
As the movie played on, Bella's mind wandered, thinking about how far she had come since becoming a vampire. She was grateful for Garrett and the rest of her family, who had shown her nothing but love and support in helping her fulfill her dreams. She felt more alive now then she ever had before.
She looked up at Garrett and smiled, feeling a surge of love and gratitude for him. He looked back at her, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"What?" she asked.
"Nothing," he said, shaking his head. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you."
Bella felt a warmth spread through her chest, and she leaned in to kiss him. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them, lost in their own world of love and companionship.
