Class was finally dismissed. It was the same teacher for Advanced Maths that even the smart kids celebrated every time the session finished.

It was one thing that was universally agreed upon by all the seniors, despite the differences they had in the classroom.

Most of the students stood up from their seats and headed to other areas of their campus. Friends gathered with each other to hang out and spend the rest of lunch time together.

Rin had not realised they were allowed to move on from the recently finished class.

She stared ahead of the board in a daze. Her pupils subtly moved, as if reading.

Luka slightly raised her voice. In Rin's mind, the muffled and garbled noises slowly turned into coherent sentences. A hand waved in front of Rin's dazed face.

"Hey, ground control to Major Rin!"

A few rounds of waves did the trick. Rin was visibly startled after she got back to Earth. Her shoulders shook for a millisecond, and her eyes widened.

"Did I doze off?" She raised her head to Luka beside her.

"More like, staring at the front when class finished two minutes ago. It was more weird that you weren't actually sleeping." Luka merely replied.

"Thanks for that, Lu." Rin sighed. "I just got distracted with some things right now." She combed her hair with her fingers out of nerves.

"That better not be about school work because you seriously need a break." Luka gently chided as she invited Rin to stand up. "But I'm still surprised you were awake a while ago instead of sleeping with your eyes open."

Kaito suddenly gave a side-comment. "Yo, that's creepy as hell."

Oliver shared his own stock knowledge. "Some people can actually do that."

Gakupo visibly winced at the topic of the conversation. "I'd like to skip the chance of learning more, thanks..."

Luka quickly cut off their discussion on open-eyed sleeping. "Do you guys want to spend the rest of lunch here or in the open space?"

Miku enthusiastically answered. "Open space, please!"

The rest of lunch period went by in a breeze. Nothing dramatic nor exciting happened within their class or the wider school body.

Miku and Gakupo stirred up hilarious antics at their table with jokes and the most random of games that involve little to no materials. All of them had fun in those simple activities.

Even Oliver, who usually read a book by himself, put it down and joined them.

Kaito noticed Rin was engaged at the game but seemed to be distracted. Her laughs were subdued and she did not smile much.

He could only assume Rin may be fatigued from the workload they currently had.

And before they knew it, the bell rang. All the students flocked to their respective classrooms. Their next class allowed them the luxury of independent study time as their teacher was absent. A substitute teacher only supervised them today.

But only a few people actually followed the 'independent' part of their study time as groups formed.

The substitute teacher merely shrugged it off.

When Kaito and Miku decided to work together on the activity they were supposed to do by themselves, they sat beside each other.

A few minutes of planning and typing later was all it took to combine their work and submit it to the required page.

With much more time in their hands, they decided to just chill by chatting.

"Hey, am I the only one who thinks something's wrong with Rin?" Kaito began.

It was his biggest irony to put in the effort to resolve his best friend's unresolved issues from her previous relationship. He could not even resolve his own dating life by a simple confession.

If he actually intended to gather up the courage in the first place.

"No way, I thought I was the only one who thought of it. I can't believe no one else mentioned it the past few days, even you! Well… until now." Miku whispered.

The usual loud noises in their classroom would have gave them protection against privy ears. But for today, it was not enough with the buzzing muffled whispers.

But it was important to note that Rin wore earphones as she typed on her laptop, and then wrote in her notebook. She sat on the very front row while Miku and Kaito were a few rows behind her.

Unless a snitch decided to tell Rin (which Miku doubted when there was no potential suspect around them), she would know nothing from their conversation.

Kaito defended himself. "I have my doubts. And I was assuming it could be from exhaustion with all the workload we currently have."

"But it's been a few days, Kai. And she never once whined about our workload. She always does that when she starts to feel tired. But she hasn't mentioned anything recently. I think there's actually something wrong." Miku rebutted. She scrunched up her eyebrows, gazed downwards at her notebook.

Miku returned her gaze back to Kaito. "I can ask her directly. See if I can confirm my suspicion through hints, or learn it's from something completely different."

Damn it, she's cute. I can't stop staring but it's making me flustered. Kaito internally screeched in his mind. Get yourself together and reply to her!

"Yeah you can do that. But what do you mean by confirming your suspicion?"

"It could be related to a certain someone from her past? You know, the man who's been our end goal with this stunning plan together with our friends." Miku smirked with a toss of her hair to the back of her shoulder.

"You're not seriously suggesting she's thinking about Len."

"Oh, yes I do. There is one in a few chances she's thinking about him!"

"I think that's a huge assumption you're going into right now, Miks."

"Come on, can't you trust me and my gut feeling? I swear I always end up being right."

There was never a situation where Miku's gut feeling came out right.

This was already despite the fact Kaito had a huge crush on her.

"Ehhh… I can't comment on that." He winced.

"Oh come on, Kai! I'll prove it to you once I talk to her!" Miku huffed and puffed her cheeks to emphasise her annoyance.

It did nothing to make her less cute, Kaito thought to himself.

"I apologise for doubting. I shall trust your judgement to these times of peril." Kaito chuckled, palms up in surrender and played along with Miku's cute antics.

The bell rang before Miku could have replied.

The substitute teacher quickly left the room while the students got up from their seats. Kaito did the same and returned to his original seat to prepare for the next class.

He waved bye to Miku who remained in her seat the whole time.

With a frown, Miku would definitely prove her hunch was right.

For the first time in ever, no one supervised their class. The teacher called in sick last minute. No substitute teacher ever entered their doors when class began.

But the biggest miracle was how people in their class barely went out of the room.

The now vacant period allowed the students to fend for themselves with free reign over their time.

Others took their chance to procrastinate on the upcoming work due soon and simply relaxed.

There were some who took their own initiatives to work on group-assigned assessments. Those included Gakupo and Kaito who had to contribute in the same group.

For Oliver and Luka, they were by themselves in their own assessments.

Oliver had his legs alternately swing back and forth under his seat. He wrote in his notebook, and occasionally paused to glide his finger on the touchpad of his laptop to choose a song to listen to in his earphones.

Luka was on her own seat far away from Oliver. She did a different assessment on her notebook. But beside was another notebook with elaborate sketches. Men and women with detailed patterns and designs on their clothes were shown, together with arrows and the tail-end contained quick, short annotations.

This left Miku and Rin, who were together to help each other finish their individual assessment tasks. They were not as consistent as the group of Gakupo and Kaito who were full-on to get the job done.

The two ladies simply combined their tables together, had their laptops side-by-side and typed as they went along to answer questions. For a few occasions, either would divert from their work and talk about anything unrelated to the assessments.

But Miku and Rin usually went straight back and answered the questions until they finished a task for one class. They went on to proceed to another one.

Miku thought this was the perfect time to bring up the burning thought from her mind. "Do you mind me being honest to you right now?"

"Huh? What are you talking about? Of course you can tell me anything." Rin had to pause her fingers on the keyboard and turn her head to Miku.

Miku blinked and began with a faltering voice. "So you see, I've noticed you look a bit down lately? This sounds imposing and sorry if I do! I'm just worried and want to help if you need."

"Oh, that." Rin simply replied. "Ah, so I'm being an open-book again."

"Well, not that it's bad though!" Miku assured her. "It does help in situations like now where we're able to talk about it. If you don't want to continue this, that's perfectly fine! We can drop this and act like I never brought it up!"

"Oh, no! It's fine Miku." Rin contested calmly. "I don't mind it. In fact, I actually appreciate you bringing it up. I could use someone to talk to about this." She sighed.

Her eyes went downwards and avoided Miku's gaze.

Oh boy, Miku thought. I have a feeling about this.

"Uhm," Rin hesitated. She gulped to give herself time to prepare. "I've just been thinking about some things. To be specific, how my family anticipates our visa could be given anytime by now. So we're starting whatever preparations we could. Like potentially selling our house to a relative"

Oh. Something worse. Miku's whole focus was dedicated to Rin. She could only nod and allowed Rin to continue on.

"We're starting to plan what we will bring or not. We have to be prepared to pack everything once that visa arrives and we book a flight as soon as possible. In my part, I'm deep-cleaning my room now. So it's throwing up rubbish or things I'm not using anymore, setting up items for donation, planning which to leave behind or bring with me." Rin sighed.

"I just feel overwhelmed, you know? This whole migrating thing has always been a possibility for years. Nothing happened, so I wasn't bothered. But now that the possibility is here, I'm still processing everything. I know I have to give up everything here, and that means needing to drop out in the middle of the year and board that plane. I don't want that, Miks. I've always wanted to finish school here, with you guys. I've been holding things together since my family was informed about it by the agent. But what can I do? I have to do it. And I can't fuck it up."

Miku was stunned. Even if it did not prove what she argued to Kaito, it definitely made sense why it bothered Rin.

Since the first time Rin admitted her family had plans of migrating to Miku, Luka, Gakupo, and Oliver, she always said she was never fond of the idea and actually daunted it.

"Rinny, of course everything will be scary and intimidating. There's no need to hide it here. It's all valid on your end. I would also be scared to drop everything so suddenly, especially when I have valuable goals here to aspire, just like you." Miku reached for Rin's shoulder and rested a palm on it.

"Is there any way me or everyone else can help you? We can clean your room together if you need some extra hands."

"Thank you, Miku." Rin smiled, her eyes showed relief. "You guys don't need to help me with the spring cleaning, it's all good. It allows me to go through memory lane and also reflect along the way. There's other things I have to do, involving some people. But I don't think I have the courage yet. I don't want to leave things unresolved when I leave here. But I'm struggling. Anyway, that's another thing on my plate today. I have to focus on cleaning my room for now."

Miku had to visibly control herself from being obvious on her reaction.

It definitely felt like a bonus right now when she realised her hunches were basically confirmed.

She was so excited to tell Kaito and how she would witness his reaction for herself.

"But having someone like you who listens really helps me today." Rin added with a smile.

"We're always here for you, Rinny. You do know that, right? We'll spend every moment like it's our last day together." Miku happily added.

"Oh, Miku. The way you said that makes me want to cry honestly." Rin chuckled and a slight crack on her voice. Miku wrapped her arm around Rin's shoulder for a side-hug.

Rin leaned on the space beside Miku's shoulder.

"I hope I'm not making you cry, champ! I wouldn't know what to do if Luka and the others glare daggers at me!" Miku chuckled.

Rin laughed. "Don't worry, I just feel so happy. I don't feel as miserable as I was a few minutes ago."

[CHAT SCENE] Operation: Closure for R&L ? ゚ルマ - Miku POV

Operation: Closure for R&L ? ゚ルマ

Miku: Guys! I'm here to prove Kaito wrong!

Luka Megurine
Has there ever been a time he's right?

Gakupo Kamui
LMFAOOOOOO ?

Kaito Fuuga
oh come on Lu wtf did I do to you :/

Miku: A day ago Kai told me he noticed Rin was feeling under the weather for almost a week. I thought the same and I told him I think it's because she's remembering Len. But he doesn't think so?

Miku: [this_in_ridiculous_jugde_judy_eye_ ]

Luka Megurine
Woah girlie that's like my loose hair band, a huge stretch

Kaito Fuuga
PLEASE ? ゚リツ? ゚リツ

Gakupo Kamui
Miku how could you even conclude that?

Miku: No wtf why yall so pressed for some reason? Don't tell me even Oli doesn't agree

Oliver Cody
uhmmm,,,,

Oliver Cody: Luka's right tho

Miku: DJSDHSJHFJHDSJFMFKSJFSKJ

Miku: FINE hate me all you want even when I'm right

Gakupo Kamui
no way?! Did she actually say smth about Len?

Miku: She just hinted about it. But it was obvious she was talking about him.

Miku: Besides that, she's upset because her family was told their visa could be released anytime soon so they're doing whatever preparations they could.

Miku: Rin has been anxious about everything and with the whole idea she could be moving soon and having to drop everything she has here

Oliver Cody
Aww I feel so sorry for Rin. Do you think she would like it if I gave her a self-help book about migrating?

Kaito Fuuga
I think that's an awesome idea, Oli!

Oliver Cody
But that doesn't mean she's talking about Len, Miku. For all we know, it could be someone from her primary school or a childhood neighbour

Luka Megurine
This^^^^^^

Gakupo Kamui
Yeah I have to agree with Oli here. It's pretty presumptuous of us to assume Rin is even thinking about Len. We're already imposing enough by being invested in their past already.

Kaito Fuuga
Uhmm yeah Miks... Idk what to think of this. I don't know everyone in Rin's life so she could have been thinking about anyone else. She could be also considering Len, but I don't think he's the main priority?

Miku: Omfg yall I'll carry this to the grave ? If I end up being right after Rin herself confirms it yall gotta pay me compensation

Miku: [Offended_homer_the_ ]

Luka Megurine
Yeah we'll see about that ?

Luka Megurine: You see Miku we can't be so bold into what our friend thinks or thinks not, especially with such a sore topic as the ex-boyfriend she didn't get closure from.

Miku: I swear my eyes weren't lying! The way Rin's expression was like that one time she briefly told me about her past with Len, it was literally the same one as today!

Miku: BUT STILL yall gotta pay me 10 bucks for this once it's proven I'm right

Gakupo Kamui
Deal ?

Gakupo Kamui: Someone gotta save a screenshot of this lol

Oliver Cody
Done

Miku: Your wallets better be ready when you have to get that bill and give it to me ?

Kaito Fuuga
Btw guys I already sent a message to Megumi asking if she can meet with us whenever she's available. I haven't got a message yet and she's not really active now. I'll let you guys know when she gets back to me soon!

Miku: Nice! Thanks Kai!

Miku: Can I say how I have a sort of scary feeling meeting Megumi? Like after Lily told us she's Rin's best friend and someone who's the most important to her, it could also backfire us if she disagrees with our plan D:

Kaito Fuuga
Good point there Miks. Now that you mentioned it, I think I have to actually say some things about Megumi to prepare everyone.

Kaito Fuuga: To make things concise, here are three points about her:

Kaito Fuuga: 1. Out of my mutual friends with Rin, she's one of the few who's been classmates with Len the longest. So you could say she's known him the longest out of me, even Rin, Lily and Neru

Kaito Fuuga: 2. Ever since Rin and Len started dating, Megumi has been secretly opposing the relationship because she doesn't like Len, especially when she thought Rin didn't deserve him

Kaito Fuuga: 3. Megumi spent the most time with Rin especially during her breakdowns. Whenever Rin ends up having those episodes and leaves, Megumi was the first one who would chase her and then be with her.

Luka Megurine
bruh you already mentioned #2 back at the masterplan on Miks notebook

Kaito Fuuga
pls Lu I just wanted to remind yall ? ゚リᆳ I forgot I wrote that in the masterplan in the first place

Luka Megurine
lmfaooo dumb ass ? ゚リᆳ

Miku: Noooo wtf we're doomed on #2 ? ゚メタ? ゚メタ

Oliver Cody
Looks like we're gonna have a tough crowd next. What's she into and what does she do?

Gakupo Kamui
when Kai said Megumi was with Rin every time she struggled with her emotions, it just hit me how much things were too rough for Rin back then :(

Luka Megurine
true Gakt. Kai already mentioned Rin wasn't in the best mental headspace before we met her. But adding up getting dumped by your boyfriend of 2 years? Yikes.

Kaito Fuuga
Megumi's basically one of those people you would honestly think is pretty weird and difficult to be with. We didn't really get along at first. I thought she was too immature, got mad at the smallest things, and we had our own disagreements usually. It wasn't until tenth grade that we actually got along and we both improved in our attitudes.

Kaito Fuuga: She was pretty much the eccentric one in our class. She herself would joke how she was the most hated, or at least not fondly looked upon, by people in our class. Yet Rin, one of the most popular in our class, saw her as her best friend. Everyone else including me back then couldn't explain how the two of them hung out so much.
Multiple people are typing... Kaito Fuuga
But the longer I saw the two of them, the more it made sense why it was often the two of them. They understood each other in everything else other people couldn't comprehend. Rin would be there with Megumi everytime she was struggling with her emotions. She was Rin's best confidante. It's why both of them are protective of each other. So we definitely have a challenge with Megumi this time.

Miku: Aww their friendship is so sweet! It's like me and Luka even when Yuki ganged up most of our class to throw shit at me back in primary school. Love you babe Luka Megurine?¬ワフ️❤️

Luka Megurine reacted with ? on Miku Hatsune's message

Gakupo Kamui
LOOL you mentioned that! Oli and I arrived in seventh grade so obvs we didn't knew how worse it was for you Miks

Oliver Cody
But look at the irony of things now. Everyone, even the new kids like Kai and Rin, hate Yuki

Kaito Fuuga
Megumi's a good person to hang out with after you overcome your own bias. To answer the question, Gumi is into anime, cosplaying, and does dance covers of Japanese songs, and very recently into this particular Kpop girl group. They sang that song we had to use for a group assessment.

Kaito Fuuga: We can bribe her with those photocards the stans are so into tbh I'll check which card to get her

Gakupo Kamui
NO FUCKING WAY THAT BAND!? I LOVE THEM!

Gakupo Kamui: I FINALLY FOUND A FELLOW STAN! ? ゚リᆳ? ゚リᆳ?

Gakupo Kamui: don't worry lads I'll take this one for the team

Gakupo Kamui: Before you know it, Gumi's part of our plan

Luka Megurine
omfg how could we have forgot he's into that band

Oliver Cody
Well Gakupo's enthusiasm can surely convince Megumi

Miku: But gurlies, we have to be logical here and actually convince her why this plan would benefit Rin. I also agree with the photocard idea and I myself will pitch in the payment for that. But we seriously can't expect Rin's best friend to have her compliance be bought from our bribe (oops) D:

Luka Megurine
I don't think that's Kaito's whole point, Mimi. Don't worry. We'll definitely also think of bullet-proof arguments

Kaito Fuuga
Wait I seriously thought we could convince her with just the photocards ._.

Oliver Cody
? ゚リツ? ゚リᆳ? ゚リᆳ? ゚リᆳ?

Miku: NOOOOOOOOOOO KAIII ? ゚メタ? ゚メタ?

Gakupo Kamui
LOOOOOL Good luck Kai if Rin ever finds out about this

Kaito Fuuga
Surely she won't. Our group chat will never be leaked

Luka Megurine
you dingus stop jinxing it we're barely halfway in this whole plan

Miku: LUKA'S RIGHT THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO COME UP WITH ARGUMENTS ON HOW THIS PLAN WILL BENEFIT RIN

Gakupo Kamui
Easy - #1 Rin and Len get together

Oliver Cody
That's the #1 reason why she would disagree with everything ?

Luka Megurine
god, Gakt, idrk if you're kidding there or not

Luka Megurine: We need this plan because of Rin's recent behaviour. She can't carry unresolved issues about her last relationship to this day and then expect she can just push it under the rug. It'll only destroy her emotionally long-term and she'd go nowhere if she wants to date again (surely she will because come on, Rin deserves to be happy like all of us)

Miku: THAT'S THE SPIRIT, LUKA! EVERYONE, BE LIKE LUKA!

Miku: I'm so proud of you bestie ? ゚ᆬᄎ? ゚ᆬᄎ

Luka Megurine
? ゚リリ? ゚リリ

Oliver Cody
Miku was the first one to mention this so I'm just reiterating it: Rin can move overseas anytime soon. The sooner she and Len get closure, the better it will be for her mental health. After all, she's our priority. If it benefits Len then I think that's just a bonus. Besides, Lily confirmed Rin wanted closure through hints. If Lily knows, then Gumi must definitely know about it already.

Miku: "If it benefits Len then I think that's just a bonus." NOT US TREATING LEN AS THE SIDE-CHARACTER FJSKJFKSJDKSJFKDJSKGJSKDJGD

Kaito Fuuga
Now we have 2 valid reasons :D

Miku: But good thinking there, Oli! Ty for your contribution ? ゚ルヌ?

Gakupo Kamui
I'm actually serious this time! Basically like what Oli said, Lily actually confirmed Rin herself wants the closure. If Gumi's actually concerned and wants the best for Rin, then I think she would support her even for a few moments of setting aside her differences on Len.

Gakupo Kamui: if all else fails I can honestly start my hidden agenda of bonding with her on our favourite band 3 can also act as our rebound

Miku: DJSKFJSKJFSFS YOU'RE A GENIUS GAKT
.

Miku, Gakupo, Kaito, Luka, and Oliver sent messages on their group chat for a few more hours.

In the end, they made an elaborate list, titled: 'ten (10) reasons why Miss Megumi should agree to our amazing plan for her best mate Rin'.

It was an ultimate success, despite their foolish antics throughout the process. Often than not it was deterred by Miku, with a sense of urgency they all should 'get their shit together'.

All of them greeted each other for a good night to wake up at the start of a new day.
