CHAPTER 5

ANDERSON RESIDENCE

The next morning Blaine texted his sister back, telling her that he would be at the house around nine. Shea replied that worked for her and to drive carefully. Blaine was curious as to what was the matter. The cousins were extremely close and they could go to each other with pretty much anything.

When Blaine reached the house he was not surprised to see Shea's car in the driveway. Crawford was closer than Dalton was to their house. As he walked into the house he was met with the sound of snffiling and crying. Following the noise he found Shea laying face down on the sofa in the living room crying her eyes out.

"Shea-Shea! What's wrong? Why are you so upset?" Blaine said rushing over to her and kneeling down on the floor next to the couch.

Turning her head slightly so she could look at Blaine, "I think I've ruined things with Mel. Something happened last night. Afterwards she said that everything is fine but..." Shea couldn't finish the sentence as she was crying to hard.

"I'm sure you two are fine. You love each other. You know what I always say about love right? Do you want to talk about it? You might feel better." Blaine said hugging his cousin.

Nodding Shea took a deep breath, "You say that love always finds a way and not to give up hope. Last night was amazing, Mel and I had the best Valentine's date ever. When we were making out, we got to a point that I was not ready for yet. I froze and stopped everything. Mel said that she understood and that she was not ready to do everything yet either."

"Ok that sounds good so far. You guys are on the same page. Did anything else happen?" Blaine said trying to put the puzzle together.

"We cuddled and watched a movie. It's going to be hard but I need to tell her about what happened to me when I was younger." Shea said starting to shake at the memory of what happened. "I need to tell her about when I was abused and assaulted by my mom's friend."

"Shea you need to breath for me. That man isn't here and you are safe. You are safe with Mel. She would never do that to you. Scott was a predator who is now in prison. You won! You survived it." Blaine said gently as he tried to calm his cousin down. "Yes it will be hard but I agree you should tell her what happened. She will understand. You will get through this. If you don't tell her about this it could drive a wedge between you. I know that is not what you want. I am not trying to be mean. I'm just being honest with you."

"I know B, I know. I feel horrible that this was the reason I stopped things last night. I love Mel so much. She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I am very attracted to her. She is the best thing that ever happened to me." Shea said with a smile growing on her face as she talked about her love. "I know you aren't trying to be mean. I am most definitely going to talk to her about it. We have a great relationship and I don't want to jeopardize that. Honesty is the best policy. Thanks B for talking this out with me."

"I love you Shea. You can talk to me anytime. Do you want to get some rest and then we will have our gaming marathon? I have been looking forward to beating you at Mario Kart all week!" Blaine grinned. He was glad Shea was going to talk to Mel about everything.

"Love you too B. A nap sounds great. As to you beating me at Mario Kart, you wish! You know I always win because I am the best! I'm going to text Mel to see if she wants to come over tomorrow. She is spending the day with Kurt today." Shea said as she texted her love.

"Sounds like a plan. For the record you win because I let you win, cousin of mine! Just admit it I'm better!" Blaine said laughing happily as Shea did a little dance when she got a text back from Mel as she headed up to her room..

"Those are fighting words Anderson! I'm going to make you eat those words!" Shea called over her shoulder grinning the entire time because she and Mel were going to see each other the following day!

Blaine knew that Mel and Shea were going to be fine. The way that Shea acted when she talked about Mel it was obvious that they were soulmates and could get through anything that life threw at them. Remind you of another couple at all?

HUMMEL RESIDENCE

Ever since Mel walked in the door, Kurt could tell that there was something bothering her. She was very quiet and could tell that she was in deep thought over something. From experience Kurt knew to give her space for a while and then approach her.

Mel was sitting on the couch reading when Kurt decided to approach her and see what was going on. "Hey sis! Is everything ok? You have been in one of your moods. I just wanted to make sure you are good." Kurt said sitting down next to Mel.

Mel looks over to him and that's when she breaks. "I need some advice. It has to do with Shea."

Kurt wrapped his sister in a hug and in a calm voice said "I thought you two were good. What happened? Do I need to go have a talk with her? You know I will."

That last question made Mel laugh, she loved how protective Kurt was! "No you definitely don't need to go have a talk with her. But thank you for the offer. I believe we are good but I'm getting the feeling that she is hiding something from me."

"What gives you that impression?" Kurt asked.

Mel took a deep breath as she began her tale, "Just somethings that have happened lately. Like on Valentine's Day, everything was going great and we were making out like normal. As soon as I start to go somewhere new, she stops. I was fine with it because I'm not sure I was going to be able to stop. I'm not ready to go all the way yet either. It was the look on her face after we stopped. It was like she was reliving or remembering something. She was about to panic."

Nodding Kurt stayed silent as Mel continued. "I told her that I was there for her if she ever wanted to talk and that I still loved her. After that everything was calm again. We cuddled and watched movies. I have a feeling that without realizing it I pushed Shea too far. I don't want her to leave me over this."

"Ok, in my opinion, I think you should talk to Shea. This is not going to get resolved if you don't. I'm not saying to force her to tell what's going on. Tell her your fears then go from there. Most importantly, be honest with each other. You will both get through this. I don't think she is going to leave you over this. I really don't. I see how you look at each other." Kurt said with a smile. "For now however, give her some time. She will come around. I promise you."

As he was speaking he could tell that his sister was calming down. He could see her body relax and her breathing was more even. Kurt was one of the few people that could calm Mel down when she was in that mood.

"Thanks Kurt. I do feel better and you are right. Shea and I need to talk. I'm not going to give her up without a fight. I love her beyond words." Mel was about to continue but her phone chimes with a text from Shea. Mel's face lit up with joy as she read the message. "It's Shea. She wants to talk. She asked if we can meet at her place tomorrow. I just let her know that is perfect and that I love her."

Kurt was happy to hear this .Mel was absolutely glowing with happiness. "See sis. You just needed to give her some time. I have faith that you both are going to make it. Blaine and I have our moments and look at us!"

Giggling Mel hugged her twin, "Yeah you guys have had some interesting things happen. But you got though it! I love you Kurt! I'm so glad we are twins."

"Me too Mel. I love you too. Hey I have an idea, why don't we go get some ice cream and then come back and watch musicals?" Kurt said laughing out loud as his sister makes a beeline for the door. "I take that as a yes."

"It's a heck yes and I will race you to the car! Loser has to sing a duet with Rachel if we ever go back to McKInley." Mel cackled as Kurt took of running that the thought having to sing with Rachel. Kurt won the race to the car but Mel didn't care. She was having fun with her brother and that is all that mattered at the moment.

Compared to when she first came home for the weekend Mel was definitely in a better mood. She knew that Kurt was right and everything was going to be fine. This was just something that they were going through. The beautiful part of it was the girls were going to come out on the other side. Still together and stronger than ever! It was a good feeling.
