Gavin stirred with a pained moan, though he didn't open his eyes. He'd been moved. He was face down on the bed, resting his head on folded arms. His awareness came from the cottony smell of freshly changed sheets, and the duvet was soft and giving beneath his aching body. He was also clean. If he hadn't been cleaned up, his ass would be a crusted, sticky mess, but it wasn't. His skin was clean and dry, all traces of dried sweat washed away. He was still disoriented, unsure what had roused him at first. He gasped and whined as the pain returned, barely blinking his eyes open as he felt a hand on his ass. His cheek throbbed under the touch, and it wasn't even that firm.
"Shh…I'm sorry…" It was Nines' voice. He shuddered as memories of their recent tryst returned. He hunkered down lower, hiding his face in folded arms as he felt his skin heat. The embarrassment was almost forgotten as Nines' hand stroked again. He raised his head with a hiss, tempted to turn and swat him away, but that would require movement. His body felt so fucking heavy, he wasn't sure he'd be able to lift himself. His ass was the worst part, but the muscles in his legs and abs were also worn and sore. "Hold still, I'll make it better."
Make it better? How the fuck was he going to make it better? He would have asked, only he was soon too busy gasping at the sensation of something cold and wet on his throbbing skin. It might have been some sort of cream. He whined and whimpered as Nines' large hands came to rest on his rounded rump. He was gentle as he circled his palms on the rosy flesh. Gavin was soon trembling from the unwelcome stinging sensation that came with whatever lotion he'd used. He buried his face again, breathing hard as he tried to keep his cool.
Nines couldn't help feeling bad as he squeezed the small bottle and added even more lotion to the shining flesh. He was as gentle as possible as he stroked the plump cheeks. They looked painful. His ass was still warm beneath his hand, and the skin was a deep shade of red. Perhaps he'd gone too far, but he knew he had to leave an impression. Gavin wouldn't have taken him seriously without proper punishment. Was this a proper punishment? He was in so much pain he was still trembling, flinching away from his gentle touch. An analysis suggested the muscles beneath were lightly bruised from the earlier strikes. The pain would linger for at least a week, possibly two. It may interfere with his duties and make sitting for long periods awkward. His LED span yellow. He'd never meant to hurt him. Not to this extent.
"I'm sorry." The words were a gentle murmur that Gavin almost missed as he sniffled into his folded arms, doing his best not to let Nines know. The pain was unbelievable. He'd had falls less painful than this! Been in brawls! He didn't even think breaking his nose had hurt this much. He felt another trickle of cool lotion on his rosy skin before Nines' gentle hands worked it in. His skin was glistening in the low light, red and shiny as Nines massaged the rounded flesh. Gavin was beginning to think he was getting off on it.
Surely he didn't need to touch it this much! He just kept stroking and circling, rubbing over his abused flesh over and over. Firm fingers started to press harder, squeezing and moulding his ass. He would have been turned on if not for the pain. It seemed to take an age for the massage to do anything. Gavin wasn't sure whether the lotion was helping or if he'd just gotten used to the dull throbbing. His body slowly started to relax, eyes fluttering again as Nines continued soothing. He hummed softly, relieved as the hands slid higher to work his aching back. A gentle huff of amusement sounded before those hands pressed harder, fingertips digging into stiff muscles.
"Agh-Phck!" It almost came out as a desperate moan. It felt so good! The lotion helped his hands slide all the way up to his shoulders, where he lingered at his shoulder blades. Gavin squirmed, biting his lip as he felt his cock stir. It probably wouldn't work up to full hardness again. He was tired and worn. Sleeping would have been nice, only he'd agreed with Nines earlier that he'd help him clean up once he'd rested. He moaned softly as Nines' fingers started circling down his spine, pressing and teasing each notch on the way down. He lingered on his sore lower back before returning to his aching ass.
"How do you feel?" How the fuck did he feel? He couldn't say. There was a lot of pain, of course. He was also tired. Too tired considering the early hour. If he assumed it had been a maximum of two hours since Nines…did what he did, then it was barely nine-thirty. Wednesday was an early shift, so he got home in plenty of time to do shit. Nines knew that. It's why he'd chosen Wednesday to follow him home. He was embarrassed, but the burning shame and humiliation had worn off with the punishment. He wasn't angry anymore. "Are you…are we…Have I damaged our partnership?"
"What? No?" Gavin turned his head with a tired frown, reaching a hand back to grab at Nines' slacks as he noticed the yellow swirl of his LED. Nines seemed doubtful as he continued stroking his back, but he did pause as he felt Gavin's gentle pawing. His lips softened as he pulled the hand free and kept hold of it. He stroked and soothed his wrist, enjoying the way his pulse jumped beneath his fingers. He seemed sincere in his assurances, though perhaps a little worried. "I mean it…we're good, okay?"
"But I hurt you…Are you sure you're not…scared of me?" Gavin snorted at the insinuation. Even if he was scared, there was no way in hell he'd ever admit it, and Nines knew that. He also knew when he was lying. It was one of the things that used to piss him off so much.
"I'm not scared of you, Nines, and you didn't hurt me…You just tanned my ass a little." A little was definitely an understatement. He could barely move his thighs without a dull ache throbbing through the muscles. He wasn't even sure if he could get up. Clothes were going to be uncomfortable for a week or so. Even the air was making his skin throb. It was a little better with the lotion, but it still fucking hurt. He smiled a little as he hid his face. He could almost feel Nines' relief as his LED returned to blue.
"I'm glad…I believe I took things too far. I did not intend to leave lasting damage." By lasting damage, Gavin assumed he meant the bruises he was going to have for the next few weeks. He shrugged, but didn't say anything further. Nines seemed hesitant as he came to sit beside him. "Why didn't you keep to our agreement? It seems an attempt was made…You were consistently cleaning dishes until three days ago." That much was true. He'd gone hard the first two days, determined not to let Nines' effort go to waste, but it had just been so easy to let it slide after a couple of days. He'd had a busy day at work, come home and thought what harm would an extra day do? That extra day had quickly turned into two, then three. Larger jobs had been set aside. Things had slipped, and then the thought of going back to them had been too much.
"Because I'm a phcking screwup, that's why!" Nines did not accept that.
"That is simply not true. You are an extremely competent and successful detective." That was flattering and all, but he still thought he was a screwup. How could he not be? "And you are a good, loyal partner." That was definitely pushing it. He'd been a shitty co-worker, and he knew it. Nines would have been well within his rights to request a transfer within the first few weeks. Hell, he could have reported him to HR and had him suspended, if not fired. A little spanking was the least he deserved for all that shit. Maybe that's why he got a little carried away…
"You're so full of shit! Thanks though…" As he turned his head, he found Nines still waiting for what he considered to be an acceptable answer. "I don't know, okay? It's just how I am! I'm not good at…doing things. It's easy to just leave things a day or two, and then it feels like too much…Then more piles on, and I start ignoring shit…" Nines blinked as things started to click into place. He sighed softly as he laid a hand on Gavin's head, fingering through his hair as he leaned down beside him. Things would have been so much easier if he'd simply opened up about this issue before. Perhaps he could have planned better, been more watchful.
"Then I will help you." Gavin balked at the idea. He'd already done enough cleaning up the first time and making that schedule. On top of that was the shame of needing someone to keep him on track. He was thirty-six years old! He should be able to handle his own shit! "I believe you are fully capable of taking care of yourself. You merely require assistance establishing new routines." That was probably true. Once he'd kept to the schedule long enough, it would become the new norm and he wouldn't even think about it. In fact, he'd get agitated if he forgot to do part of it. "I suggest we open a line of communication. I will regularly check in to remind you of your outstanding tasks."
"I don't need a phcking nanny-bot!" He looked away as Nines raised an eyebrow. He was good enough not to voice his disagreement. There was no need to. They both knew he was lying.
"Once you have dressed, I will assist you in cleaning the apartment. When the apartment is clean, we will use the remaining ingredients in the fridge to make a stock of food to last the week. After you have eaten a proper meal, you will go to bed and I will go home. In the morning, you will make breakfast and clean up the kitchen before coming to work…Does that sound acceptable, Gavin?" Fuck, he loved the way his name sounded on his tongue. It wasn't something he'd thought about before. He had no reason to notice it before. He felt his skin prickle with heat as he buried his face in his arms again.
"Yeah, sounds good."
