Maya pulled up in the driveway and shut her engine off without a word. She stared ahead blankly and began to open her car door when Josh walked out of the house. "Maya what took you so long? You were right behind me and-" He saw the blank expression on her face and then glanced towards the car, finally noticing its damage on the rear end. "Oh my god, Maya did you get into a car accident? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?" Josh rushed to her side and began to look all around her to make his own conclusions. Once he could convince himself that she was okay he walked around to the back of the car.

He bent over and looked at the damage and sighed. "Whoever did this totally fucked up your bumper. Were you able to exchange insurance information?" Still, Maya was yet to say anything. "Maya?" Josh walked up behind her and turned her so that she faced him. He cupped her face and stared at her intently. "Did something else happen tonight?"

The sun had set long ago leaving them in the dark night with nothing but the lights outside of the house left to illuminate them. I'll see you soon gorgeous. Oh, Maya could vomit. She couldn't even fathom the fact that even occurred tonight. He thought he was so clever. Be sure to tell Josh I said hello. Maya took Josh's hands from her face and placed them back down at his sides. She placed a comforting hand over her abdomen and sighed. "Andrew says hello."

She turned on her heel and grabbed her bag out of the car before walking into the house. Confused Josh tailed her as she walked into the house and called out to her. "Maya! Maya! Hey!" He ran in front of her and stopped her from walking further. "What do you mean 'Andrew says hello?' That's not a funny thing to say." He took another look at the stoic pout on her face. "Unless you're not joking," he concluded.

He shook his head, his hands gripping the sides of her arms. "I don't understand. You saw him tonight?"

Maya sighed and dropped her bag to the ground. As she walked over to an empty chair she began to tell the story of the night. "I pulled over because I couldn't make it onto the highway and as I was getting ready to call you someone hit the back of my car." Josh walked over and sat on the coffee table just in front of Maya. "I got out, ready to yell and get their information I might add, and it turns out the person that hit me was Andrew."

"What?"

"And it wasn't an accident Josh. He did it on purpose. He started to tell me about how he missed me and how he thinks we were cheated out of a chance to be together."

Josh stood up, red with anger. "Maya what the fuck? He hit you on purpose? We have to-"

As he moved to grab his phone, Maya reached up and grabbed his wrist. "Josh wait. It gets worse. He-" she took in a shaky breath. "He kept saying that its supposed to be us in the end. Us as in me and him. And that you are just an obstacle in our way. And he claims to know this because-" She closed her eyes and took a moment, her heart breaking at the thought of even repeating this aloud. "He said that he knows this is destiny because I lost the one thing that tied me to you. He was saying that my miscarriage was a sign."

Silence. Josh was completely silent. His jaw tightened as he balled up his fists. Without a word, he got up and grabbed his phone, pressing buttons and typing furiously as he started to call people. Maya just sat there with her head in her hands, still shaken. "He doesn't know that I'm pregnant again and I'm scared of what he'll do if he finds out," she whispered. She looked up at Josh. "He already said that you are 'In his way.' What if he tries to hurt you?"

Josh hung up the phone and focused his attention on his wife. "Joe is on his way up to the house now. We are getting a full security briefing and making arrangements to move elsewhere as soon as possible." He walked around and into their bedroom, Maya following him.

"Josh what are you doing? Did you even hear what I said? I think he's going to try and hurt you!" Maya watched as Josh took out the safe from under their and punched in a code. Her eyes widened as she saw Josh pull out a hand gun. "A gun! Josh you can't be serious right now. I didn't even know you had a gun!" He continued to shift about the room, moving quickly and thinking on his feet. "Josh I need you talk to me!"

Maya grabbed his arm and Josh stopped walking and looked at Maya. "My number one priority is making sure that you're safe. He will not get close to you or touch you ever again." He slipped the gun into the waistband of his pants and pulled his shirt over it. "The police are on their way now as well. We're filing a report. I'm going to call Cory and Topanga and let them know what's going on. Right now I need you to pack a bag. Have it ready so that when we can leave as soon as we can."

Maya's head was spinning. So much was happening so fast. There were security guards and police officers standing in front of her discussing security detailing with her husband. "My main concern is my wife's safety. She is newly pregnant and we've had a miscarriage before. I want her to feel as safe as possible. I need for there to be little to no stress surrounding her. If I'm not there I need her to feel one hundred percent at ease." Josh shifted his weight and crossed his arms over his chest. "We have a history with this guy. He was once a close friend but that within the past year. We cut all ties with him but he's persistent. You see that damage on my wife's car out there?"

Josh pointed to the damaged white SUV outside. "That is courtesy of him. We didn't even tell anyone we were moving out here. We lived out on the east coast until our address was leaked. Which I think might be him too, but the point is he needs to be handled immediately."

Maya stood and walked over to stand next to Josh. She had her arms wrapped around her torso, her blonde hair pushed behind her ears. "He's dangerous and what my husband is neglecting to emphasize to you are some of my needs in this situation. Those needs pertain to his safety. In the words of our stalker, Josh is in his way. That concerns me greatly. I'd like to still have a husband that's alive by the end of this so I need full detail on him as well. I need twenty-four/seven surveillance and detail on the both of us." Maya placed her hand over her stomach. "We are supposed to be having a baby by the end of this year. I'd love it if we could bring our baby home with some peace of mind. So I need you guys to do everything in your power to make sure Andrew is taken care of. Got it?"

.:.

Maya sat up in bed later that night, unable to sleep. She just kept her hands over her stomach and did her best to soothe herself. She looked over to Josh's side of the bed- empty. He was up trying to make sure everything was taken care of. All doors locked, all guards on stand by- the works. The door opened and Maya instantly tensed up but released when she saw that it was Josh. Josh looked exhausted but on edge. "What are you doing up? You should be sleeping."

Maya shrugged. "I can't really sleep much."

Josh sighed and crawled into bed next to her, placing his hand on her stomach, overlapping her own. "Well you should try." He pressed his lips against her forehead. "One of us needs to be able to sleep at least."

Maya had spent the night deep in her mind, worrying and thinking about every possible scenario that could occur. Then, her mind ventured to why any of this was even happening. She thought through everything. I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship. God why did she do that? She felt like she gave him the green light to permeate their lives. Then there was that night he brought the takeout and ate with her and the dancing, oh god the dancing. She danced with him in the middle of their living room. In the middle of their home. She did this. She was the cause of all of this.

Silence fell as they each just rubbed her belly. "I'm sorry," Maya whispered. "If I had just drawn the line from the jump and told him to leave when we were living in New York we wouldn't be-"

"Hey," Josh frowned. "Don't do that. Please don't do that to yourself. This is not your fault. You did not ask for this. Neither of us did." He interlaced his fingers with hers. "Look I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you from this. I wish I was there with you tonight. You shouldn't have had to face him alone like that."

Maya smiled sadly. "I just want our baby to be brought home somewhere safe. I don't want my pregnancy or their life to be anything like this."

A tear slipped out of her eye and Josh used the pad of his thumb to wipe it away. "And it won't be. I will take care of this. That is something that I can promise you."

.:.

The next morning Maya sat in the kitchen, holding her cup of tea close to her chest as she watched Josh pace around and make phone calls. From left to right her eyes moved, following his every step. "You're making me anxious," she said as she took a sip of her tea. "Can you please sit down and at least talk to me for a second? We have some baby stuff we should probably discuss."

Josh looked at Maya as he held his phone in his hand and nodded, setting it down on the table before sitting across from her. "Yeah you're right. What should we be deciding now about the baby?"

Maya sighed and set her cup down on the table and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I feel like we should really discuss what we'd want to happen in the event anything happens to you or me." Josh shook his head, seeing where she was going with this. "I just think that with this whole Andrew thing we need to talk about what would happen if he hurt you or me or-"

"Maya enough!" Josh stood from his seat at the table and picked up his phone. "We are not talking about this. He is not going to touch either of us."

Maya shook her head, not backing down. "Josh we can't be naive here! He's threatened us! We don't know what he could do! He found us on the other side of the country for crying out loud! I am not going to put it past him to do something as grave as try and kill you!"

"Maya we are not doing this right now because it's not going to happen!"

Maya stood from the table. "Josh you don't know that! What am I supposed to do if I lose you? What are we supposed to do if we lose you?" Maya placed her hand on her stomach. "If I lost you," she choked. "That would actually kill me and I don't want to go through that. Please don't make me go through that."

Josh's heart broke as she cried and cried. He put his phone down again and pulled her into his arms. "You're not going to lose me Maya." He kissed the top of her head. "I'm not going anywhere."
