You stand there, plug still in hand, staring at the blank screen. What have you done?

He didn't leave you any choice, you had to pull the plug, you had to, right?
No, no you didn't, you might not want Sans snooping round your PC, it could even be dangerous, but that didn't mean you should have shut him down like that. You had done far worse to them, though you didn't know at the time. Slumping down in your chair with your own face staring back at you from the dark screen you try and collect your thoughts.

This was happening. You took a breath and tried to focus. Somehow this was happening. Ever since hearing their voices coming from your PC you had completely stopped questioning if this was some sort of prank or elaborate code. There was no turning back at this point, your reality had been shattered and your world was never going to be the same, even if you never plugged your machine back in, you would never be able to go back to ignorance. So if you can't go back, then forward it is.

"Stay determined" You smile at the words. It was time to put your reality back together, even if you didn't know how all the pieces fit yet, you at least had the first piece.

Plug back in place, you reboot your PC, a nervous energy ticking through your fingers. How could you really go on with your life if you didn't see this through? You had plenty of your own questions that needed to be answered now, and you owed it to Undertale and all the people you had met. You owed it to Frisk.

"Sans?" No reply. You didn't even know if he was still there. It had only been a few minutes but maybe he had left.
"If you are still there, I'm sorry. No more shutdowns. I want to help, anyway I can." Still nothing.
"I guess you're gone, I'll try again…"

"no, wait i'm here. that one? ok. sorry i didn't have the microphone on"

Well he didn't sound angry at least.

"Are you okay?" You hear a sigh and think you catch Alphys in the background.

"to tell ya the truth, no. none of this is okay, none of this should be happening and none of this makes any sense" He sounded tired, and not in the 'just woken up way'. You guess shutting everything down like that made him realise he can't do this without you.

"At least we can both agree on that. Truce?"

"truce." Good. You didn't want to butt heads with Sans, you wanted to help. This was honestly a dream come true if you could just get past the sheer confusion and impossibility of it all.

"How is all this even happening" That was a good place to start at least.

"kinda hoping you would have the answer to that." You get the feeling he was hoping you would be the answer to most of his questions at this point. You don't exactly expect to find a way to talk to an other worldly being, who has been toying with your life, only to find it's just some person who has been playing the Sims. Wow that must suck, and now you are starting to worry about your Sim's game.

"All I did was write a silly little letter" How had that one action, something that had meant to free you from Undertale, ended up pulling you deeper into it then anyone could think possible?
"It didn't feel right having it sit on my PC, so I looked up how to do a bit of coding and found a way to link the message to an in game item. That was over a year ago, I hadn't even thought about it until recently."

"Ss..oo this really is all just a video game for you?" You panic a little hearing Alphys, had Sans forgotten she was there? Were you meant to say anything about this being a game to you?

"yup, 'pparently we're just characters in a game to them"

"But that's…how? Are the characters in mm…y games real? Oh please say they are real!" You could hear Alphys fangirling in the background, well at least that was out in the open now, but she did bring up one of the questions you had been mulling over yourself. One game at a time.

"think ya can send me that code?" You were not really sure what he was going to find there but it was a good enough place to start. It was just some code you had found on some website, you doubt you could find the same site again.

"Sure" It was easy enough to go through the game files and pull up the code though. The cursor moves away from your control for a moment, you let go of the mouse.
"Um Sans, if you want to search my PC, I won't stop you, but we are currently inside the game's files, your games files. I don't know what could happen." You were really worried actually. Just how connected was their world to the game? If it was deleted would you be removing the entire world or just your connection to the world? What would happen if you deleted, say, Flowey's file? What about all the other copies of the game?

"ya got a point, sorry about that." You get the feeling he was also apologising for taking away control before.

"No bone hard feelings okay, we were both kinda rash. Let's just try and work this out together, okay?" No more fighting.

"heh, sure. no more cat and mouse." Your curser comes back under your control when you use your mouse again.
"now let's have a look at that code and see how this all works."

You can't stop the smile on your face. You might be trying to work out how all this was working but right now, you don't care. Your reality was shattered, but it was time to put it back together again, and this time it was going to include friends you had never believed you would ever truly meet!
