The fact that the workroom door was still on its hinges for the two seconds it took to cross the room and unlock really showed Sans it had been worth the extra money for the structural upgrades he'd put in place. Whether it would have lasted a second or two more however is not an experiment he wanted to conduct at this moment. Or pay for.
Undyne was not a monster that liked to take 'no' for an answer, even if it was from an inanimate object like a door.

"Someone had better be hurt in here or I'm going to MAKE someone hurt!" The former captain of the guard basically burst through the door as soon as it was unlocked. If Sans hadn't been as good at dodging as he was he would have been a bonemeal smear against the wall.

"U-undyne! It's okay. Everything's fine, what-what happened?" Alphys can barely get her words out as her girlfriend grabbed and turned her every which way to check her over. Before holding her up to be eye level.

"Twelve hours Alphys! Twelve hours since you and Sans locked yourselves in here! Didn't you look at your phone or anything? I even sent you a new anime to look at and I got no reply, NO REPLY! What was I meant to think?" The glare she threw at Sans made him instinctively put his hands up.

"eh, i'll have to phone up for that one, building's shielded, signals can't come in or out." He shrugged, not really something he could help since he didn't want to get false readings from outside or have any sort of signal leak out.
"It's a safety thing." His brother kept an eye on the time and knocked when he needed to eat or sleep, Sans guessed he'd given them space to get some work done for a change. It's not like Papyrus and Undyne weren't known to go off on six hour hikes or even Alphys and Undyne with their twenty four hour anime marathons. That said, ugh, he should probably get a couple more clocks installed to keep track of the time better. Maybe one tracking the human's time so he could keep an eye on any fluctuations.

Alphys continued to calm her irate soul friend.
"Oh, no…no I'm SO sorry Undyne. We just kind of got distracted by what we're working on and completely forgot the time. Wait, what new anime?" She was already pulling out her phone as Undyne looked around the room.

"What are you nerds doing in here anyway? Papyrus just said you were working on something." A critical eye scanned the room as Sans moved to lean against the table to block the screen.

"you know, just PCing what we can come up with together." Sans shrugged as Undyne's eyes narrowed.
"should probably take a break anyway. let alphys spend some time with her gillfriend. go on ahead, just need a minuet to clear up here." Undyne glared harder.

"Well hurry up, Papyrus has made pasties and was about ready to kick the door down himself." The fish monster fireman carried Alphys as she continued to scroll through info on the new anime.

"yeah yeah." Sans waved them off but not before Undyne pointed at her eye and then back at him in the universal sign of 'I'm watching you'. For just a moment Sans felt his sins crawling up his spine. He was very happy to be her friend, because he would never survive being her enemy.

With silence returning to the room Sans wanted to make sure everything was shut down and locked up first. Taking a moment to reactivate the link as he felt he needed to leave a note explaining they would be back to chat this time tomorrow. That should give him enough time to put together some theories to test out, as well as for Alphys and Undyne to spend some quality time together. It wasn't too surprising to see the computer on the other side was still being used. However the active word document had some very interesting text being written.

-Dimensions? every game a world? 1 million copies, likely more.
-Need to find ways to check/contact others that might have done the same. Contact Toby?
-Are other games the same? Is this world a game?
-Show the other runs? LP maybe
-Can Flowey still reset?

"toby?" Who's that? He was also getting a bad feeling as they wrote that last line. Did that mean they were not the only one who could reset? Sans was about to turn on the microphone when he heard the door open.

"SANS! YOUR PASTIE IS GETTING COLD AND IT HAS BEEN MUCH LONGER THAN A MINUTE. UNDYNE AND ALPHYS ARE MAKING SURE TO SAVE YOU SOME BUT YOU KNOW HOW MAGNIFICENT MY FOOD IS. IT WON'T TAKE THEM LONG TO BE OVERWHELMED WITH DESIRE TO EAT THE NEWEST CULINARY CREATION FROM THE GREAT PAPYRUS AND THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT FOR YOU."

"sorry paps, you know it takes me forever to tidy up." Sans quickly closed the connection and made a note to ask the human about this later, or at the very least to find the file himself later. Turning round he was greeted with the wide grin of his brother.

"YOU TIDIED UP!" Papyrus looked around the room, his smile dropping a little as he still saw wires and papers scattered about, but there were at least two empty bottles of ketchup in the bin instead of on the table, and no socks.
"I'M SURE YOU DID YOUR BEST. I WILL HAVE TO SET UP SOME LESSONS BUT THIS IS A FANTASTIC START!"

"thanks paps, we all gotta start somewhere. right now i think i want to start on the pasties and end with a nap." Sans stretches and winces a little at how stiff his joints were. It would do him some good to sleep on a bed instead of napping in chairs for a night.

Lights turned off and the door closed with the click of a lock. Only the soft glowing of a few sleeping machines prevented the room being overtaken by complete darkness. On the other side of a screen, in a world connected by the smallest of tethers, fingers tapped at their keyboard to finish off the short list of things that needed attention.
