X-Men: The Unnatural Omega's Volume 1, Fractured Realities
Chapter 6: The Other Hercules
…
"Alright, Pac-Man," Jean began, her tone steady and comforting. "It seems like you communicate differently from us. Can you understand us?"
In response, Pac-Man gave a light, affirmative 'Waka' sound and blinked at Jean. She smiled, appreciating his effort.
"Well, that's a start," she chuckled lightly. She looked into his thoughts again, hearing the 'Waka Waka' echoing cheerfully. His thoughts were simple, yet layered in their own unique complexity. Every 'Waka' was a different note, a different sentiment. His mind was a constant symphony of these sounds, each one holding a different shade of meaning.
"So, when you say 'Waka'... it can mean different things based on the context and tone, right?" Jean asked, more to herself than to Pac-Man. She was now attempting to understand his language, deciphering the meanings from the differences in the tone and rhythm of his 'Wakas.'
Another 'Waka' from Pac-Man, this one slightly higher in pitch, confirmed her hypothesis. A wave of satisfaction washed over Jean. Pac-Man's form of communication was rudimentary, but it was a language nonetheless.
"What was your world like, Pac-Man?" she asked, "Can you show me?"
Pac-Man blinked twice, and then... she was inside a colorful maze, vibrant ghosts chasing a forever hungry circle. It was a simplistic world, revolving around a cycle of chase and escape. Yet, it was Pac-Man's world and it was as real to him as the Krakoa was to Jean.
"Thank you, Pac-Man," Jean said sincerely, once they were back in the room. "We may be from different realities, but we're here together now. We'll do our best to understand and help each other."
With a cheerful 'Waka,' Pac-Man agreed, a bright, innocent aura surrounding him. A refreshing simplicity in an increasingly complex world.
Turning her attention from the inexplicably noisy Pac-Man, Jean Grey moved onto the next new arrival. He was a burly man with intense, world-weary eyes. A stark contrast to the colorful, spherical figure she'd just evaluated.
"John Rambo, isn't it?" she asked, approaching him with a gentle, yet firm gaze.
Rambo merely nodded in reply, his wary eyes flicking between Jean and the others around. The displacement from his known reality to this strange new world had left him on edge.
Jean could already sense a turmoil of emotions within him. Layers of tension, uncertainty, a hint of fear, but beneath it all, a strong will and a determination to survive. She would need to tread carefully with this one. She reached out with her telepathic abilities, gently probing the surface of his thoughts.
Deep in the labyrinth of Rambo's thoughts, Jean traversed the hellish landscape of his war-torn memories. The echoes of distant gunfire, screams of pain and fear, and the cruel mockery of a country he'd sacrificed everything for reverberated through her. It was the raw, brutal reality of war, a stark contrast to the battles she had been a part of in her own universe.
Emerging from the grim chaos, Jean was jolted back to the present by Rambo's question. She found his curious gaze focused on her and his question lingering in the air.
"Your her? The...Jean Grey... from Marvel comics?" Rambo asked, his voice rough but tinged with disbelief.
"Yes, I am," Jean answered, her voice steady despite the turmoil she'd just witnessed within his mind. "And you're John Rambo. You've been through hell... And yet, you've persevered. But know this, you're not alone here. We're all in the midst of the unfamiliar, trying to navigate this situation together."
After a brief but meaningful conversation, Jean decided it would be best to allow Rambo to get acquainted with everyone else at his own pace. The sheer number of beings from various universes might be overwhelming, even for a man of his resilience.
"Take your time, John," Jean suggested softly. "There's a lot to take in. You might be interested in meeting our two RoboCops. They've been through experiences not dissimilar to your own."
As she watched Rambo slowly acclimate himself to the wildly diverse collection of beings, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. This was a man who'd been through hell and back only to find himself tossed into a reality where the impossible was commonplace. Yet, if there was one thing she'd learned from her experiences, it was that resilience often found a way to adapt, no matter how surreal the circumstances.
The assortment of individuals around the circle couldn't have been more disparate. Figures of fiction and fantasy, of horror and heroism, all seated around in a circle of chairs arranged on the lush green grass of Krakoa. They were soldiers, witchers, toys, bounty hunters, and even a dragon-rider, all brought together for a unique form of group therapy - sharing their stories and trying to make sense of the bewildering realities they had come from.
Rambo, a veteran from a conflict-ridden world, was sharing his tale, recounting the horrors he'd seen, the war he'd waged, and the nation that had forgotten him. Beside him, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer delved into the vast world of The Continent, explaining about the factions, monsters, and the supernatural magic of their world.
Across from them, Woody, Buzz, and their pals talked about a world where toys came to life when humans weren't around. A world filled with adventures, friendships, and Andy - the child they'd been dedicated to. Dante and Lady, on the other hand, spoke of a world where demons were real and could be slain, a world both haunting and thrilling at the same time.
Hiccup shared the story of Berk, a once dragon-fearing Viking village turned dragon utopia, his journey from an outcast to the chieftain, and the bond he shared with his dragon, Toothless.
Bugs Bunny, the ever nonchalant rabbit, simply munched on his carrot while reciting tales of Looney Tune Land, his encounters with Elmer Fudd, and the comedic chaos that always ensued. RoboCop 1 and RoboCop 2, the mechanical guardians of law and order, talked about their transformation from human to cyborg and the challenges it brought.
As the stories flowed, so too did the understanding. It was a strange bonding experience, each participant gaining insight into worlds they'd never known existed. Each of their realities was different, unique, and bizarre in its own right, but in this moment, they were just individuals around a circle, sharing, understanding, and offering each other mutual respect.
The discourse ceased instantly, as two newcomers emerged from the water's edge. Materializing seemingly from the waves, the couple dripped with sparkling water droplets, each catching the sun in a dance of shimmering diamonds.
All eyes were drawn to the woman at the forefront. Her radiant red hair cascaded around her like an otherworldly shroud, while her sea-green dress, shimmering in the daylight, starkly contrasted the traditional attire worn by the man at her side.
Recognition lit up Dante's eyes, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips, while Rambo squinted at the pair, as if trying to place them from some distant memory.
"Are you... Ariel?" Dante finally disrupted the silence, his voice carrying a note of disbelief.
Ariel, the woman, blinked at the unexpected familiarity, and then slowly nodded her acknowledgment. Her companion, identified as Prince Eric, merely furrowed his brows, eyeing the eclectic assembly with a mix of confusion and wariness.
"We... just arrived," Ariel began, her voice filled with uncertainty, her eyes wide with palpable bewilderment. "We were... in the ocean, and then... here."
As fresh arrivals from a realm of underwater kingdoms and maritime magic, the mermaid princess and her prince were no less puzzled than the group who now watched them. Dante gave a quick gesture towards the empty chairs nearby.
"You'll want to sit down for this," Dante suggested, a knowing glance in his eyes. "Trust me, you're not in your natural environment anymore." The rest of the group listened intently, each of them all too familiar with the jolt and confusion of finding oneself thrust into a completely new world.
…
The grandeur of Mount Olympus seemed to dim in the face of the absurdities they were witnessing. The congregation of gods sat in an uncharacteristic silence, each one grappling with the incomprehensibility of the events unfolding before them. Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, and the rest of the pantheon exchanged glances, their usually unflappable expressions marred with concern.
"We've seen many a strange thing," Zeus began, his powerful voice echoing through the marbled halls, "but this..."
"Is beyond even our realm of understanding," Hera finished, her expression as stony as ever but her eyes betrayed a hint of unease.
"Yes, this conjunction," Athena chimed in, her wise eyes narrowed in thought, "it's causing the impossible to occur, bending the laws of reality itself."
"And not just ours," Hermes added, his golden face furrowed in consternation. "We must tread carefully. We cannot foresee the consequences if this situation continues."
Their discussion was cut short as Hermes once again spoke, the fleet-footed messenger of the gods, squinted at something in the distance. "Wait... What's that?" he asked, pointing towards a bright light.
As their eyes followed his gaze, they beheld a sight so bizarre that even the gods of Olympus were left dumbfounded. A gleaming, cartoonish star was descending towards them, its radiating glow illuminating their shocked faces. Atop this star, sat a small, round, and remarkably pink creature, its wide eyes filled with innocent wonder as it surveyed its new, bewildering surroundings.
Silence reigned on Olympus as the small, pink creature stared back at the array of gods with a bemusement that matched their own. It gave a small squeak, looking somewhat distressed as its body seemed to shudder. Its bright eyes darted around before settling on its round belly, a noise akin to a growl echoing from within.
"Is it... hungry?" asked Artemis, eyeing the creature warily.
"It would seem so," Athena mused, an eyebrow arched in contemplation.
"Let us fetch it some ambrosia then," proposed Zeus, waving a hand. In an instant, a plate appeared laden with the food of the gods, the rich scent wafting over to where the creature sat.
Hermes picked up the plate and cautiously approached the small, round being. The creature's eyes widened in delight as it took in the sight of the food, and before Hermes could even set the plate down, the creature took a deep breath, and then, all of a sudden, sucked up the whole lot, plate and all, in one go.
The gathered deities watched in silent astonishment as the creature patted its satisfied stomach, a faint, blissful sigh escaping its lips. Despite the surreal situation, a round of chuckles passed among the gods.
"What a voracious appetite," Hephaestus muttered, shaking his head with an amused smile. "Truly, this is a day unlike any other."
While the others amused themselves with the creature's antics, Zeus remained quiet, his brow furrowed in thought. The creature might have appeared harmless and even amusing in its innocence, but the King of the Gods sensed something else within it.
Its power was palpable, radiating like an unspoken promise of incredible strength. Yet, there was something else - an unfamiliar, indefinable aura that intrigued Zeus. An essence unlike anything he had ever felt before.
As he watched the creature stare at one of the marble columns with an almost speculative look, a shiver of unease ran down Zeus's spine. It wasn't fear, per se, but rather a heightened sense of caution. This tiny, pink being was a complete unknown, an enigma. Its presence here on Olympus could have far-reaching implications they could not yet understand.
Unblinking, Zeus kept his gaze on the creature. The innocent, inquisitive expression on its round face belied the power he sensed within it. And for reasons he couldn't quite fathom, he knew it was crucial to keep this small, unassuming entity close... to watch, and to learn.
…
Later…
A stunned silence fell over the gods as they watched the surreal spectacle before them. Kirby had somehow managed to absorb Poseidon, inhaling him in a whirlwind of gluttonous desire. But it was what followed that truly left them aghast.
Once Poseidon was expelled from the top of Kirby's head, seemingly unharmed but noticeably disoriented, they all gaped in disbelief. Kirby now sported a shimmering crown identical to Poseidon's and clutched a tiny trident that was a spitting image of the sea god's.
All eyes turned to Poseidon, who quickly took stock of himself. His crown was still firmly on his head, his trident still clutched in his hand. Yet, here was Kirby, sporting an identical set, complete with a trident that gleamed menacingly.
Zeus's eyes narrowed, his mind whirring with implications. This creature had just displayed a power they could not comprehend. A power that allowed it to mimic the Gods themselves. The sense of caution he'd initially felt bloomed into a full-blown sense of concern. This was no ordinary being; it was a wildcard, a force they would have to treat with extreme caution.
…
Even longer still…
A group of Titans had been summoned, and Zeus, after some deliberation, decided to let Kirby face a Minotaur first. A hush fell over Olympus as the curious entity, Kirby, was led into the colosseum.
The Minotaur, a brute of mythical proportions, snorted menacingly. It towered over Kirby, its heavily muscled body coiled like a spring, ready to strike. The crowd watched with bated breath as Kirby looked up at the beast, his expression of child-like wonder unchanging.
The Minotaur charged, its enormous fist swinging in a crushing arc towards the diminutive Kirby. Just as the crowd winced in anticipation of the impact, Kirby wobbled, his pliable body jiggling as if it contained no bones. The Minotaur's fist impacted, but instead of the expected crushing of the pink being, Kirby merely ricocheted off the wall, bouncing like a rubber ball.
There was a pause, a collective intake of breath, and then something extraordinary happened. Kirby began spinning at high speed, becoming a blur of pink and blue. Suddenly, he pulled out a massive hammer seemingly out of nowhere. With an ease that defied understanding, Kirby swung the colossal hammer, smacking it squarely into the bewildered Minotaur.
The impact was thunderous, echoing around the stadium as the Minotaur was sent flying, soaring over the audience, and crashing out into the fields below Olympus. An awed silence swept over the crowd, followed by a ripple of appreciative murmurs. Even Zeus had to acknowledge the extraordinary power of this innocent-looking entity.
…
A long, long, while later…
After the Minotaur, the gods continued to throw an assortment of their most fearsome creatures at Kirby, hoping to gauge the full extent of his powers. However, with every challenge presented, Kirby effortlessly defied their expectations.
The Gorgon, with her snaking hair and stone-inducing gaze, was next to face Kirby. The crowd watched as her eyes lit up with the power to petrify, her gaze meeting Kirby's. Yet, instead of turning into a statue as they had expected, Kirby merely blinked at her, clearly unaffected, his round eyes filled with innocent curiosity.
Cerberus, the three-headed hound of Hades, was unleashed next. The giant dog lunged, its sharp teeth sinking into Kirby's squishy form. The crowd held their breath, expecting to see blood or, at the very least, a reaction from Kirby. But Kirby just bounced and stretched, his body proving to be incredibly resilient. He was chewy, and Cerberus' gnawing did nothing more than entertain him.
The gods began to look at each other nervously. The creature that had descended from the sky was not just strange, but also alarmingly powerful and seemingly invincible. Each trial only seemed to highlight the enigmatic nature of Kirby's abilities. His innocent demeanor and wondrous curiosity became a chilling contrast to the might he demonstrated.
A collective gasp of surprise reverberated around the council as the Hydra, the many-headed monster known for its regenerative abilities, was summarily dispatched by Kirby. With a sudden burst of speed, the little creature had summoned a star-shaped ship from seemingly nowhere and, in a flash of light, smashed it into the Hydra, obliterating the creature in one fell swoop.
Zeus, the King of the Gods, sighed heavily, his brows furrowed deeply as he observed the pink entity, now exploring a flower with the same wondrous innocence he had shown throughout the trials. It was then that Zeus made a decision that shocked even the gods themselves.
Turning to Hermes, his gaze serious, he uttered a command that had never before been conceived in the annals of Olympus' history, "Hermes, we need to reach out to the mortal world. Contact the one they call 'Nick Fury'. This being is beyond our capabilities. We need their help."
Shock rippled through the council. The mortal realm and the divine had always been kept separate, save for specific interventions and occasional liaisons. To openly ask for the help of a mortal was unprecedented. But then again, they had never faced a being like Kirby before.
Nick Fury was in the middle of his morning routine, sipping on a hot cup of coffee and scanning through his encrypted messages when a particular communiqué grabbed his attention. A coded message from an incredibly ancient and unexpected source – Zeus, King of the Gods of Olympus.
He almost choked on his coffee. This had to be a joke. But as he delved deeper into the coded language, his one good eye widened. This was no hoax. This was a plea for help, direct from Olympus.
The message laid out the situation in detail – an entity, unlike anything they had seen before, had appeared on Olympus. It was not hostile, but its power was unfathomable. They had tried their best to test it, assess its potential, but each trial ended with the creature demonstrating feats beyond belief.
With an incredulous sigh, Fury leaned back in his chair, his mind racing. The situation was truly unprecedented. Fury pondered over it for a few moments and then decided on the course of action. Reaching for his communicator, he keyed in a response.
"Zeus, this is Nick Fury," he began, his voice grave. "You've got my attention. I'll send a team to assess the situation. But remember, if this turns out to be some sort of a trick... Well, let's hope it's not."
Sending off the response, Fury swiveled his chair, gazing out at the bustling SHIELD base beyond his office window. A little, innocent-looking, pink creature causing a stir among the gods of Olympus. The thought brought a wry smile to his face.
"Just another day at the office," he mused, reaching for his coffee. After all, in a world full of superhumans, gods, and alien invasions, surprises were part of the job description.
Within a few hours of receiving the urgent communication from Zeus, Nick Fury assembled an unlikely team for a mission to Olympus. The group was a veritable assortment of the Avengers' finest, featuring Captain America, Spider-Man, Sentry, and Captain Marvel. Logan, the man known as Wolverine, was also part of the team, bringing with him his years of experience and unmatchable resilience.
Joining these battle-hardened warriors were three figures who seemed out of place in the midst of such a superhero assembly. Dante, the demon hunter, possessed strength and speed that rivaled any superhuman, but his flamboyant personality made him a stark contrast to the serious, duty-bound Avengers.
Next was the bright yellow, round figure known to all as Pac-Man. His capabilities were largely unknown, but his reputation from the digital world was enough to garner respect. He, however, looked around with wide eyes, his usual jovial demeanor replaced with a look of apprehension as he processed the grandeur of the real world.
Last, but certainly not least, was Bugs Bunny. The lovable Looney Tunes character, with a perpetual carrot in his hand, seemed the most relaxed amongst all. He chewed on his carrot nonchalantly, offering his patented, "Eh, what's up, doc?" to anyone who looked his way.
The team was set, and their destination was Olympus. None of the last three had seen Olympus before. Their reactions varied widely as they took in the magnificent sight of the heavenly realm, home to the Gods of Ancient Greece. However, they were all keenly aware of the grave threat that awaited them there - a threat that even the Gods found themselves incapable of handling. As they prepared to face the unknown, they could only hope that they were up to the task.
Hermes appeared relieved at the sight of the Avengers and their unlikely company. He looked visibly worn out, a rarity for the god of speed and agility. "Thank the gods you're here," he said, a hint of desperation in his voice. "We were starting to run out of food for our guest."
As he led the way through the imposing halls of Olympus, the team couldn't help but exchange puzzled glances. They were all expecting some formidable adversary, a creature of destructive power. What could possibly be threatening about a guest who... ate a lot?
The question was answered when they entered the main dining hall. An enormous banquet was laid out, the tables groaning under the weight of the vast array of food. And in the middle of it all was an innocent, round, pink creature.
At first glance, it looked entirely harmless. Kirby was munching on a leg of roasted boar, his eyes wide with delight. The next moment, the boar was gone. Just like that, swallowed whole, without so much as a single bone remaining.
The Avengers looked on in astonishment, while Dante merely chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. Pac-Man's eyes were wide as saucers, and even Bugs stopped chewing his carrot, staring at the spectacle before him.
Meanwhile, the gods of Olympus watched from a safe distance, their faces filled with a mixture of relief and trepidation as they welcomed the Avengers. They knew that dealing with Kirby would require a delicate balance of diplomacy, patience, and a seemingly endless supply of food. And they hoped that these Earthly heroes were up to the task.
Dante stepped forward, his hand instinctively moving to the hilt of his sword Rebellion before he checked himself. A low whistle escaped him as his eyes roamed over the seemingly insatiable creature, amusement flickering in his blue orbs. "I don't believe it," he said, his voice low yet carrying across the grand dining hall. "You've got Kirby."
All eyes turned to Dante at his declaration, some faces registering surprise, others showing confusion. Spider-Man, for instance, tilted his head curiously while Logan's eyes narrowed suspiciously. Captain America, ever the diplomat, broke the silence. "Kirby?" he asked, looking from Dante to the pink creature that was currently inhaling a whole roast turkey.
"Yep," Dante confirmed, folding his arms over his chest. "And I thought I'd seen it all."
Dante cleared his throat, drawing all eyes to him again. "Kirby," he began, gesturing towards the round creature still happily consuming an enormous spread of food, "is...unique."
He paused for a moment, a smirk crossing his lips. "This little puffball, believe it or not, is basically indestructible. He hails from a universe filled with dreamy landscapes and vibrant colors. Kirby's got this incredible ability to mimic the powers of any creature he inhales. I've seen him transform into a swordsman, a fire-breather, and even a rock. The limit is just what he can get his... mouth... on."
As if on cue, Kirby inhaled a whole tray of grapes, then, to the awe of everyone, started shooting seeds out of his mouth like a machine gun, causing a few chuckles to break out among the crowd.
"And his nemesis," Dante continued, his tone growing more amused, "is this penguin-like guy called King Dedede. Now, Dedede's no joke. He's pretty strong, despite his goofy looks, and wields a massive mallet that could probably give Thor's hammer a run for its money."
The group took a moment to process Dante's explanation, their gazes turning back to Kirby, who seemed oblivious to their scrutiny and was now devouring an apple pie. The little puffball's simple joy in the act of eating was oddly endearing, and even the most serious among them couldn't help but crack a smile.
From the back of the room, a dark figure slowly separated from the shadows, drawing the gaze of the gods and heroes alike. The air seemed to cool considerably as he approached, an unusual chill emanating from him.
His hair blazed with an ethereal, blue flame, its ghostly glow painting an eerie light on the stone walls. Sharp, predatory teeth gleamed menacingly from beneath a cruel smirk, giving his angular features an even more fearsome appearance. His attire was a stark contrast to the other gods, featuring a darker, more menacing variation of the classic Greek garb.
"I don't believe we've had the pleasure," the figure finally broke the silence, his voice low and chilling, "I am Hades...but not the one you know."
His gaze traveled over the assembled gods and heroes, pausing only briefly on the figure of Hades of this universe. A cruel smile stretched across his face, sending a collective shiver down the spines of those who caught it. The tension in the room spiked as everyone held their breath, waiting for his next words.
"But I'm not here for a fight," he continued, his eyes once again scanning the room. "I believe we have a common problem. And it's in all our interests to solve it."
He then moved his gaze back to Zeus, his eyes flashing with an unspoken challenge. As the silence grew, the gathered beings knew that this meeting was about to take an even more interesting turn.
Zeus, taken aback by this sudden and unexpected appearance, arched a thick, red eyebrow at the imposing figure. The God of Thunder was never one to be easily intimidated, yet he couldn't deny the sense of power that radiated from this foreign version of his brother.
"Speak then," Zeus commanded, his deep voice echoing throughout the vast hall. "You say we share a common problem. Let's hear your thoughts."
Hades from another universe gave a nod, acknowledging Zeus's consent. His blue flames flickered in response, casting a spectral glow across his face as he began to talk.
Standing firm, this other Hades glanced over the heroes assembled in front of him, his gaze settling momentarily on each one of them. His voice was grave as he started, "There's been a recent development... The Titans from my realm have begun to make their presence known here."
He let the words hang in the air, his blue flames reflecting in the eyes of the assembled gods and heroes, each wearing varying expressions of concern and disbelief.
"These Titans are not like your Titans. They are brutal, unfeeling, and bear a deep-seated hatred for anything related to Zeus," Hades continued, his gaze returning to Zeus. The gravity in his words was palpable, chilling even the bravest of hearts. "They can wreak havoc on a scale that's beyond your comprehension. And I fear, they might already be here."
A murmur swept through the room, gods exchanging glances while the heroes stiffened. The conjunctions, it seemed, were bringing about threats that were growing increasingly dire.
"In light of this... I propose a bargain," Hades announced, holding out his hand towards Zeus. The gesture was as surprising as it was unprecedented. "I am willing to share all I know about the Titans, and my own universe, if you agree to assist in dealing with this imminent threat. A simple task, I assure you."
Zeus looked at the outstretched hand, his mind mulling over the proposition. Hades, perceiving the hesitation, added, "Time is of the essence, brother. The Titans... they are outside right now. So, do we have a deal?"
The silence that followed was deafening, only broken by the distant rumbling of an approaching threat.
Seeing no deception in the eyes of this alternate Hades, Zeus grudgingly extended his hand, gripping the outstretched hand firmly. "Deal."
The alternate Hades grinned widely, his blue flames dancing in satisfaction. "Excellent!" He turned towards his minions, "Pain! Panic! Hand over everything we have on our realm. And make it snappy!"
His gaze then returned to the gathered heroes, particularly landing on Dante. "You, the one with the sword," he said, pointing at Dante, "You might need something with a bit more kick."
As he led them towards the entrance of the grand hall, the heroes shared confused glances. With a grand sweep of his hand, the alternate Hades gestured towards the landscape that extended before them.
And they all saw them.
The four massive figures towered over the landscape, their gargantuan forms made of rock, ice, wind, and lava. Their voices echoed ominously across the valleys as they yelled in unison, "CRUSH ZEUS! FREEZE HIM! BLOW HIM AWAY! MELT HIM!"
The sight of the Titans, true embodiments of raw elemental power, sent shivers down the spines of the bravest heroes. Even Dante, no stranger to formidable foes, felt a flicker of unease. But their resolve hardened. This was a threat they needed to tackle. They could not let these Titans wreak havoc.
The stage was set for a confrontation of epic proportions. The heroes, rallied by the unlikely alliance of Hades and Zeus, stood ready to face the Titans. And the Titans, blinded by their hatred for Zeus, were gearing up for a catastrophic showdown.
Hades was the first to act. As Dante pulled out his sword Rebellion, Hades laid a hand on the blade, causing it to be enveloped in blue flames. The other gods were preoccupied with Pain and Panic, the demonic minions, who were nervously handing out scrolls filled with crucial information.
Meanwhile, Pac-Man, donning his red boots, started waka-waka-ing his way down the mountain, with Spider-Man swinging by his side. Sentry, with his divine strength, took off to the skies, ready to take the two-headed rock titan head on.
And then there was Bugs Bunny. The classic toon character nonchalantly slipped on his helmet, hopped on a scooter, and went zipping down the mountain as if he was on his daily commute. Despite the impending battle, the rabbit seemed as laid-back and cheeky as ever.
The stage was set. The heroes were equipped, the Gods were ready, and the Titans were advancing.
The Sentry plunged into the chest of the Rock Titan, the impact shaking the earth beneath their feet. The massive entity grumbled and swatted the hero away like an irksome fly.
Meanwhile, Bugs Bunny, ever the unconventional warrior, whipped out a high-tech fire extinguisher. He aimed and unleashed a stream of icy foam at the Lava Titan. The flames hissed and sputtered under the blast, a large part of the molten titan freezing in place, much to its own surprise.
Pac-Man, on the other hand, was waka-waka-ing his way towards the Wind Titan. The entity paused, confused at Pac-Man's unusual approach. The sound of 'waba waba' echoed across the battlefield as the duel commenced.
Meanwhile, Dante, with Rebellion wreathed in blue flames granted by Hades, sliced into the icy leg of the Frost Titan. The creature let out a roar of pain as its icy foot melted under the flames.
As chaos reigned on the battlefield, Hades from another universe was leisurely seated in a skeletal chair, puffing on a cigar, and watching the spectacle unfold. The Greek Gods from this universe, including their version of Hades, watched him with a mix of apprehension and curiosity. His laid-back demeanor was unsettling; this was all merely a show to him.
The titans, despite their sheer size and power, were thrown into disarray by their peculiar opponents. The Rock Titan swatted at Sentry who managed to elude its large hands, only to return with another powerful blow. The Lava Titan, caught off guard by Bugs Bunny's unusual attack, roared in frustration as it struggled to reignite its frozen parts.
The Wind Titan, meanwhile, seemed more amused than threatened by Pac-Man. He towered above the small yellow circle, his gusty form whirling with laughter. "What are you going to do?!" the Wind Titan mocked, his voice booming like a thunderclap. "How can you fight the wind?!"
Pac-Man simply shrugged. With a final 'waba', he launched himself into the titan's tornado arm. Bit by bit, he began consuming everything within him. The Wind Titan roared, feeling an unexpected pain as its wind form was gobbled up from within.
On the side, the Frost Titan howled in pain and fury as Dante's flames continued to burn through its icy form. Despite the painful attack, it retaliated, aiming an icy blast towards Dante. The tension on the battlefield was palpable as the heroes and the titans clashed. Hades' casual smirk, meanwhile, remained unchanged.
"Dante's down!" Captain America's urgent voice sliced through the cacophony of battle, drawing all eyes to where Dante lay crumpled beneath the icy assault of the Frost Titan.
"Wait for it..." Hades drawled in response, a note of amusement creeping into his voice. He puffed on his cigar leisurely, eyes never leaving the sight of Dante in the Frost Titan's grip.
What happened next stole the breath from every observer. A brilliant explosion of light detonated from Dante's position, the icy restraints that had once pinned him down now blasted away in every direction. In their place stood Dante, his demonic form now fully revealed - ashy grey skin, glowing red eyes, and large bat-like wings stretching out behind him.
As if that wasn't enough, Dante pulled out a suitcase-like object from his arsenal. It quickly transformed into a minigun that looked like it belonged more in a sci-fi movie than a medieval battle.
"Well... looks like he's decided to use his trump card," Hades remarked, an undertone of anticipation hidden beneath his casual statement. He watched with a smirk as Dante opened fire on the Frost Titan, the bullets pouring out in a deadly hailstorm. The Frost Titan, previously confident in its victory, could only stare in stunned disbelief as Dante fought back with relentless fury.
"What weapon is he wielding?" Zeus inquired, his brows furrowing as he tried to place the origin of the enigmatic suitcase-now-minigun. There was a spark of recognition within him, a vague familiarity that nonetheless evaded his understanding.
"Pandora's Box..." Hades supplied dismissively, exhaling a cloud of smoke from his cigar as his attention remained riveted on the raging battle below. "In his universe, it assumes a total of 666 forms."
Zeus's eyes widened in understanding, yet there was a clear note of apprehension now. If Dante's arsenal included something as potent and unpredictable as Pandora's Box, this battle had just taken an unexpected turn.
As the battle intensified with Spider-Man entangling the second head of the Rock Titan in webs, Sentry delivering an impressive uppercut, and Bugs Bunny firing an arsenal of ACME missiles at the Lava Titan's face, an unexpected change occurred. The Wind Titan had begun to run amok, losing chunks of its body to the waba-ing of Pac-Man. It was then that an unanticipated figure appeared on the battlefield, causing the lounging Hades to jolt upright.
"Him...!" he exclaimed, the flames around him abruptly turning from a calm blue to a fierce red. His demeanor shifted from one of indifference to outright alarm. The cigar in his mouth, previously half-finished, was now nothing more than a stub, rapidly consumed as Hades inhaled sharply.
Meanwhile, Pain and Panic, who had been standing nearby, found themselves clutched in Hades' hands, his fingers digging into their skulls. The heat from Hades' sudden flare was unbearable, and they started squirming and yelping in distress.
"No, no, no! Not again...!" they whimpered in unison, their high-pitched voices filled with dread at the sight of the newcomer.
As the ferocity of Hades' flames escalated and his breathing turned ragged, a surge of reactions swept through the team of heroes. The Greek gods present, Zeus, Hermes, and Aphrodite, glanced at each other, their divine faces etched with concern. Meanwhile, Captain America and Black Widow, their combat instincts honed through countless battles, immediately picked up on the sudden shift in Hades' demeanor.
Hawkeye, who was monitoring the situation from a vantage point, arched an eyebrow in surprise, his gaze flicking back and forth between Hades and the new figure that had just arrived. He couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy for the now screeching Pain and Panic, who were being subjected to the full force of Hades' wrath.
It was Hades, struggling against his own fury, who finally managed to spit out a name. "Hercules...!" His voice echoed across the battlefield, even reaching the ears of the relentless titans.
The name seemed to hang in the air, drawing the attention of everyone present. Down below, the figure of a man with a robust build and bright red hair stood out starkly amidst the turmoil of the battle. His presence, clad in a Greek warrior's outfit, had brought a sudden shift to the dynamics of the skirmish. The impact of his arrival was yet to unfold.
While the arena stood in silent shock at the arrival of the legendary demigod, one sound shattered the tense stillness. Dante, in his menacing devil form, let out a deep, hearty laugh that echoed ominously around the battlefield. His laughter held a certain sense of amusement and disbelief that was disturbingly infectious, making some of the onlookers want to join in.
At the center of everyone's attention, Hercules appeared visibly baffled. His familiar, confident grin faltered as he took in the unusual scene. The sight of the Titans, creatures he remembered defeating, added to his confusion. His eyes flickered between them and the ragtag group of gods, monsters, and heroes that were on the other side. An inkling of understanding began to dawn on him that he might not be in his own universe anymore.
The Titans, on the other hand, seemed to recognize Hercules and slowly began to back away. Even in their fearsome forms, the memory of their past defeat at his hands seemed to have stirred a sense of fear within them.
While the rest of the scene unfolded, Hades was unusually quiet, watching Hercules with a gaze that was filled with something between hatred and caution, his hands still clenched tightly around the whimpering Pain and Panic.
Seizing the moment, Hercules leapt into action. In one fluid motion, he sprinted towards the Wind Titan, his powerful legs carrying him swiftly across the battlefield. As the Titan roared, churning up a tornado with its monstrous arm, Hercules reached out and grabbed hold of the whirlwind tail.
Pac-Man, who had been inside the tornado chomping away, abruptly popped out, the force of Hercules' grab sending him sailing through the air. However, rather than falling, he hovered in mid-air for a moment, eyes wide in surprise, before finding a safe landing spot.
The Titans, trapped inside the whirlwind, screamed and flailed. Hercules strained against the monstrous pull of the Wind Titan's tornado, his muscles bulging as he grappled with the elemental force. Then, with an almighty roar, he swung the Wind Titan around, the cyclonic vortex capturing the other Titans in its wake.
The celestial bodies collided, twisted, and mashed together within the confines of the tornado. Hercules, summoning all his strength, swung the tornado one last time and let go. The Titans, trapped in the whirlwind, were hurled into the far reaches of the cosmos.
All eyes turned skyward as the whirlwind, now a comet of swirling Titan bodies, shot across the heavens before culminating in a colossal explosion. The explosion bloomed into a radiant nebula, its dazzling colors and star-filled beauty a stark contrast to the Titans' malevolent nature. The battlefield fell into a stunned silence, Hercules standing in the center, chest heaving, but triumphant.
Stunned silence reigned for a moment longer before Hercules broke it, looking around at the diverse assembly of heroes and deities in evident confusion. "Umm...how did I get here? And where's Meg?" His voice echoed in the stillness, his questions hanging in the air.
Before anyone could respond, a distressed voice sounded from the outskirts of the group. "Alright...that's it," Hades growled, his fiery blue hair flaring brightly as he took in the sight of Hercules. Disgust and trepidation twisted his features, a stark contrast to the nonchalance he'd maintained thus far. "I don't want to be punched in the chin by him again!"
He spun around, turning his gaze to Hera who looked on with mixed feelings. "You," he pointed at her, "can deal with your counterpart's son...I'm out. Good day to you all!" Without another word, he disappeared in a puff of dark smoke, taking the cowering forms of Pain and Panic with him.
The group was left to absorb his parting words. Hera, in particular, looked nonplussed. "My counterpart's son?" she echoed, her face a mask of bewilderment. "What?"
In the grand dining hall of Olympus, a curious hush had fallen over the assembly of heroes and gods. Everyone seemed to be processing the unusual chain of events that had unfolded, each in their own way. Kirby was happily munching on some more food, unperturbed by the high-tension atmosphere, his pink, round form bouncing cheerfully with each bite he took.
Meanwhile, Hercules sat dazed and wide-eyed, trying to wrap his head around the overwhelming information he'd just received. His strong hands clenched and unclenched in an unconscious gesture of confusion and slight frustration. He took a deep breath, his gaze unfocused as if seeing far beyond the grandeur of the hall.
"So, let me get this straight," he began, his voice surprisingly steady for someone whose world had been turned upside down. "I'm... on another world, and all of you are alternate versions of my family, friends... and even my enemies?" The incredulity in his voice was palpable, yet there was also a touch of resigned acceptance, as if he was slowly coming to terms with the reality of the situation.
Captain America, who had been quietly observing the situation, finally decided to add his piece. He stepped forward, the distinctive red, white, and blue of his uniform contrasting against the opulent golden backdrop of Olympus. His shield, a symbol of hope and resilience, hung on his back, ready to be called into action at any given moment.
"And don't forget about your counterpart," he said, his voice calm and steady, holding Hercules' gaze firmly. "He's in our world, doing what you do best – protecting people, fighting the good fight."
There was a pause, a moment of silence that seemed to stretch out as Hercules absorbed the new piece of information. The thought of another version of himself, existing in a parallel world, facing the same trials and tribulations, fighting the same battles – it was a lot to take in. But then, Hercules was no stranger to challenge. He'd faced the impossible before, and this was just another test he had to pass.
When she asks if he's encountered any snakes… he responded.
Hercules, looking somewhat taken aback, replied to Hera, "Yes, that's true. However, in my world, it wasn't you who sent the snakes. It was Hades, or rather, Pain and Panic acting on Hades' orders. They tried to kill me after they turned me almost entirely mortal."
He paused, letting out a wistful sigh before he continued. "My mother, your counterpart, was devastated when I went missing. But, as I said, I didn't drink the last drop of the potion they gave me. So, I kept my godly strength."
Hera found herself taken aback by his revelation. Her own narrative, one steeped in a fiery rivalry and resentment, was far removed from this Herculean tale. Here was a Hercules who was not her enemy, but a son who she hadn't birthed. It was a paradox, surreal yet intriguing.
"A son of mine, but not of my world," she pondered, her gaze falling on the young demigod before her. "Fascinating, to say the least."
Hercules leaned forward, speaking earnestly, "Yeah, that's correct. In my world, Hades nearly succeeded in trapping Zeus using those Titans you just saw me fight. He turned me mortal, kidnapped my love Meg, and released the Titans on Olympus."
Hercules took a deep breath, glancing out to the view of the landscape below Olympus. He'd faced so many trials, fought so many foes, but the thought of Hades, of that fateful day, still stung.
Hera and Zeus exchanged a look, a glimmer of understanding passing between them. The narrative of this alternate Hercules' life was strikingly different from their own mythology.
Zeus' face hardened, his jaw setting in a grim line. His eyes sparked with the lightning he commanded, the severity of the situation evident in his expression. The thought of an alternate version of his own brother plotting such treachery was disconcerting, to say the least.
He turned his gaze to Hercules, a newfound respect in his eyes. This Hercules, his not-son, had faced trials even Zeus himself hadn't imagined. It was something to ponder over, a tale that was both intriguing and disconcerting.
Breaking the silence, Zeus spoke, his voice echoing around the great hall, "To think that a version of my brother, even one from another world, would stoop so low... It's unsettling."
As he spoke, the gathered heroes couldn't help but glance at each other, the weight of the situation sinking in. They had stepped into a world of gods and legends, but what they were hearing was a saga of struggles, triumphs, and treacheries that transcended realms. This was the reality of their multiverse, infinitely complex and eternally fascinating.
Hercules seemed lost in his memories as he began to narrate his tale. "Meg was enslaved by Hades - my Hades - due to a deal they had made. I bargained with him for her freedom, agreeing to give up my strength. He promised that no harm would come to her while I was powerless."
He glanced down, his expression somber. "However, Hades attacked me with a massive pillar during the Titan uprising, aiming to finish me once and for all. Meg, seeing me in danger, she... she pushed me out of the way, getting herself critically injured in the process. The moment she was harmed, the deal was broken and I regained my strength."
Taking a deep breath, Hercules continued, "But it was too late. Meg was dying. So, I made the decision to rescue her soul from the Underworld. It was the most harrowing experience of my life. The River of Death was designed to drain the life out of any mortal who dared to enter, but I had to reach Meg."
He looked up, a determined spark in his eyes. "As I grabbed Meg's soul, I could feel my life force ebbing away. But just when everything seemed lost, something incredible happened. The act of risking my life for someone I loved turned me into a true hero, a god. The waters of the River of Death no longer affected me. I managed to carry Meg's soul back to the surface. With a kiss, her soul returned to her body."
There was silence as everyone absorbed his tale. Even Hades seemed moved by the story, his previous animosity replaced by a newfound respect for Hercules. It was clear that this mortal turned god was a hero in every sense of the word - in his world and in theirs.
For everyone else, Hercules' story was quite the revelation. The gods of this alternate Olympus found it remarkable, since they were used to the order of things in their realm, where divinity was not a reward but a birthright. The notion of achieving godhood through a selfless act of sacrifice for the sake of love was both an alien and thought-provoking concept for them.
The superheroes found Hercules' tale inspiring in its own right. Despite the heroic deeds they had accomplished in their own lives, Hercules' story served as a reminder that even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, there was always hope, and that love and sacrifice could empower one in ways that surpassed their current understanding.
Even Dante, who had seen and lived through countless oddities in his life, found something new to appreciate in Hercules' story. He clapped Hercules on the shoulder with a half-smile, "Great work, kid," he said. The tale was familiar, as Dante remembered hearing about the Disney movie back in his world, but hearing it from Hercules himself gave it an entirely new perspective.
In stark contrast to the weighty conversation, Kirby, still munching on his food, paused for a moment to look at Hercules with wide, curious eyes. However, not grasping the depth of the tale, he quickly turned his attention back to his meal, his focus solely on the delicious food in front of him.
There was an air of respect in the room, a sense of acknowledgment for the trials Hercules had faced and the sacrifices he had made. It transcended their individual differences, leaving each of them with something to ponder upon.
As Kirby, the round pink creature, approached Yennefer, he simply gazed at her in quiet curiosity. His wide, innocent eyes took in her magical aura, the way she carried herself, the mysteries that she embodied. Yennefer, intrigued by the small being's presence, watched as Kirby wordlessly absorbed the environment around him. His silent wonder was refreshing to see, a stark contrast to the often harsh realities she was used to.
Shifting her attention, Yennefer observed the star-shaped vehicle Kirby used for transportation. Its design was simple, yet it radiated a kind of energy that hinted at otherworldly origins. Its compact form and smooth movement were certainly something to marvel at. Although it was unlike anything she had seen, she could sense the strong connection Kirby had with it, suggesting a bond that transcended the physical.
Meanwhile, Hercules was getting acquainted with Laura and her young daughter. He knelt down to meet the girl at eye level, offering her a warm, disarming smile. "So, this is the little troublemaker, huh?" he asked with a playful undertone, his words carrying no judgement, only fondness.
Laura let out a light chuckle at his remark, hugging her daughter a little tighter. She began to explain how her daughter's experimentation with her abilities had created a significant disturbance. Hercules listened with understanding, his own experiences of learning to control his strength resonating with the situation. Through this interaction, they bonded over the shared struggles and unique experiences that came with being more than human.
While Hercules, Kirby and the others were engaged in their discussions, an entirely different scene was playing out on the side. Deadpool, Logan, and Geralt were huddled around a table, each of them nursing a drink. The unusual trio was engaged in a lively discussion, their conversation filled with humorous anecdotes, warrior tales and the inevitable disagreements that sprouted from such a diverse group.
Nearby, the human-sized LEGO Batman was bent over a complex construction. The intricate structure of LEGO bricks resembled a spaceship, although anyone familiar with Batman's creations could tell that it was destined to become something far more sophisticated.
"Leonardo, Doc, I need the next piece," Batman called out without taking his eyes off his creation. Leonardo, the blue-masked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, quickly scurried over with a handful of bricks, his martial artist agility making the task seem effortless. Doc Brown, ever the scientist, analyzed the plans laid out on the table, his eyes scanning the blueprints with intense concentration. The atmosphere was buzzing with the anticipation of something great in the making, a testament to the unconventional teamwork on display.
Meanwhile, Deadpool raised his glass, proposing a toast, "To new alliances and outrageous technologies," he declared, earning a round of cheers and clinks from Logan and Geralt. While LEGO Batman, Doc Brown, and Leonardo focused on their project, they nonetheless raised a LEGO cup and a wrench in agreement, affirming the camaraderie that had been formed in these unusual circumstances.
As the laughter and camaraderie among the group echoed through the area, a loud humming sound began to grow louder. All eyes turned towards the sky as a capsule-shaped ship pierced through the clouds and started to descend. The ship bore the familiar logo of Capsule Corporation, a renowned name from a different universe, known for its technology.
As Bulma's capsule ship gently touched down, the door slid open and she stepped out onto an alien world. The bright sun was blinding as she shielded her eyes, her bright blue hair reflecting the sunlight. Despite the slight wobble in her step due to the unfamiliar gravity, she quickly recovered, demonstrating the resilience she was known for.
She glanced around, surveying her new surroundings. Before her stood a group of individuals, each one as unique and eccentric as the next. Despite her extensive travel across the universe and encountering an array of peculiar beings, these faces were entirely unfamiliar to her.
Deadpool, observing from a short distance away, couldn't help but comment on the scene. With a smirk playing on his lips, he called out, "Looks like we have a new arrival. Someone tell Goku his friend is here!" He broke into laughter, the sound echoing across the landscape.
Bulma looked toward the sound of laughter, her eyes settling on the man in the red and black suit. But despite his loud proclamation, she didn't recognize him. In fact, none of the gathered crowd seemed familiar. Goku's name, however, was a welcome point of familiarity amid the chaos.
"Where is Goku?" she responded, her voice steady despite her visible confusion. Her question was met with wide-eyed stares and an uncomfortable silence, clearly no one present had the answer. Despite the disarray, Bulma stood tall, ready to face the unexpected scenario she found herself in.
