Her lungs refused to take in enough air. She sat hunched under a tree, and her cheeks had long been all wet.
Once again, she argued with her parents. This was already normal for Sakura, but it hurt more with each new discussion.
Sakura tried to calm down when she heard a rustling behind her. She quickly stood up, shaking her clothes off the sand, and moved ahead.
"Sakura?" she paused. Sakura knew that voice all too well.
"Sasuke-kun, what are you doing here?" she asked, and her voice, though she didn't mean to, sounded very quiet and trembling.
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
Sakura wanted to go on, leaving her friend behind, but the boy grabbed her by the arm and turned to face him.
"I'm not asking if something happened but what happened."
She turned her head, being embarrassed to know that Sasuke could see her crying again.
"Nothing, I already told you."
"And that's why you're sitting alone in the middle of the forest at night?"
"I don't want to talk about it." she bit her lower lip.
Sasuke let go of Sakura's arm, taking a step back.
"You don't have to, but it would be appropriate to go home now."
Oh, if only he knew, thought Sakura.
"I don't want to."
As if he finally understood, Sasuke breathed loudly. However, he did not look angry or disappointed.
"Sakura, you don't have to talk to your parents if you don't feel like it, but you know they are worried about you right now. All parents...do." he extended his hand toward her.
Sakura rarely heard Sasuke talk about his family. But when he did speak, he was right.
She grabbed his hand.
