The light of the lamp gave a pleasant atmosphere. Smell of vanilla laced with cinnamon was in the air.

Candle sizzled, adding warmth to the room. And the sound of water muffled by the door had a calming effect.

Sakura was bending over a book, sitting up in bed under a quilt with fresh sheets on.

The water quieted, and a moment later Sasuke emerged from the bathroom. Drops of water stained the ends of his hair.

"A month without hot water and a bed must have been a torture for you, darling."

He arranged himself next to Sakura, the arm moving his wife to him.

"Not having you next to me was worse."

Sasuke kissed the top of Sakura's head, moving his hand from her neck to her stomach. She intertwined her fingers with his, stopping them on her lower abdomen.

Black, saucer-like eyes looked at her. Sasuke and Sakura understood each other without words. They had something in common that no one else had. The affection they had for each other never faded, but grew stronger with each passing second.

Sasuke smiled. And that smile was the most beautiful one Sakura had ever seen. Laughing quietly, she kissed her husband. Tears of happiness streamed down her cheeks. Sasuke kissed every salty drop of water, and a glow ignited in his heart at the thought of another family member.
