An abandoned warehouse in Fuyuki City (Three Weeks before the Holy Grail War)

Kirei Kotomine was waving away the fog. When the smoke cleared, he saw the Servant, whose summoning caused the mist, clearly. He used the remnants of the skull mask used by Hasan-i-Sabah, the 'Old Man of the Mountain', as a summoning catalyst. What he got... was definitely not the Assassin he expected.

Before him was a teenager about 13-15 years old. Kirei would have thought this child must have been a prodigy among the skull-faced assassins of his time, were it not for the fact that he didn't look like that at all. His white hair, glowing, actually glowing, green eyes and a faint white glow surrounding his entire body. In addition, he wore a black jumpsuit with white boots, collar, belt, and gloves. Clothes that definitely could not have been in the Middle Ages. And finally, a large letter "D" on the chest. All this screamed in the head of the former executioner of the church that this was not one of the "Old Man of the Mountain".

"Hey you Priest, are you the one who summoned me?" His voice even had an echo.

" ...Yes. But let me ask you question. Are you an Assassin in this War?" Kirei has to admit, this is a stupid question. But he has to be sure since his Servant is not something he expected.

"Of course I'm an Assassin. Do I look anything else?" Assassin's brow made a move that says 'Are you dumb?'. Priest on the other hand made a face that says 'How is it even possible?'. He has to check it.

"Show me."

Assassin, as if waiting for this word to be said, replied. "Watch."

And Kirei watched. The Assassin instantly disappeared from the Priest's field of vision. Then something strange happened. The wall-no. The entire warehouse is gone. Then he and werehouse were seen again. Apparently, he has the ability to be and make everything invisible. His legs, united, turned into a kind of tail, and he began to fly around and through the building, and even through his own Master. He can pass through objects and people. Does it work with Boundary Fields? Before Kirei could ask his question, he felt dizzy. The next moment he was standing on the roof of the warehouse. Teleportation?

Immidietly Assassin showed up.

"See? Aren't I awesome?" Assassin said with such an childish arrogance, but Kirei has to be admit, this Servant is definitely an Assassin. And just to be clear.

"Did you teleported me Assassin?"

"Of course not. I only possessed you."

So he possessed me and climbed to the roof.

"Assassin. The next time you try to possess someone, ask permission." These words clearly annoyed Assassin.

"Jeez, you sound like my mom and dad."

Kirei didn't know if Hassan-i-Sabbah would be better than this kid, but he knew his Assassin was definitely useful.

Hotel Hyat Room (Two Weeks before the Holy Grail War)

Th summoning in one of the hotel rooms that Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi rented was complete. The mist started wave out and what he saw was—

Lord of the Clock Tower woke up. For some reason he was lying on a couch with his fiancè beside him, sleeping. He was surprised but did not move.

Sola-Ui is supposed to be his wife in soon future but she merely touched him. She was a cold woman with barely anything botheryng her. This kind of woman would be perfect by Mage standarts. And Kayneth was firstly a Mage. But he also was a man who genually loved her. Seeing her this peacefully sleeping with a smile and an arm on his shoulder was a situation he couldn't let go to waste. It is strange thought. How did they even got themself on a couch? The last thing he remembered was—

Servant!

He carefully removed Sola-Ui's arm from himself and dashed to the summoning room. On his way he looked on a clock.

Three hours.

That's how much time has passed since the call. What happened during the summoning that caused him and Sola-Ui to pass out? Is this the work of a Servant? Where is his Servant?

*Shutter*

Something broke. Around fridge. He looked at that direction and... Now he remembered why he lost cost his consciousness.

Before him, hand in jar of cookies, was, standing on his legs, a big, fat Panda. And his favorite cup was broken. It looked at him with a bit of guilt.

"Ha ha. Sorry." He yanked his hand out of the jar of cookies with cookie between his fingers and, looking at his Master, handed the cookie. "Do you want some?"

Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, Lord of the Department of Mineralogy of the Clock Tower and a lecturer in the Department of Spiritual Evocation, said only one word word that could explain his thoughts.

"FFUUUU—!!!"

Matou House basement (One Day Before the Holy Grail War)

The lying man after making the call tried to get up. The fog in the basement of the Mato House began to dissipate. Mato Kariya lifted his head and looked into the epicenter of the fog with his only working eye. In the center of the circle stood a muscular young man with long dark blue hair. He has some blue markings on dark skin and was wearing a high-collared black cloak and baggy pants. The servant immediately looked at Kariya with a sharp look.

"Servant Berserker. You. Human. Are you the Master?" Kariya stood up and answered.

"Yes."

Tiny old man that was near Kariya hit the floor with his cane.

"You summoned a Servant that is not related to a Catalyst. I don't know if I should praise you or be disappointed. Perphaps—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Berserker looked at him and sniffed.

"You. You are not human. You are bug."

Matou Zouken was intrigued.

"You have a very keen sense, Servant. What else you can tell?"

Berserker pupils become smaller and he started to erupt mana around him.

"You disgust me."

Now Matou Zouken smiled.

"Kariya. Tell your Servant to not do something you will regret."

Kariya dashed to his Servant and grabbed him from behind.

"Berserker! Stop! Even if you destroy his body he will not be killed! And if you anger him Sakura will die!"

Berserker stopped erupting mana. He turned to his Master. He sniffed.

"You have insects in your body. Most are near you bones and rest in your vital organs." Kariya was surprised. Is Berserker's nose really that good?

"They are this boy's magical energy. Otherewise this failure can not sustain you. And it is a reason he will not go against me." Berserker looked at Zouken.

"You control them."

Zouken grinned. Berserker asked another question.

"Who is Sakura?" It was Zouken who answered him.

"Just a little girl who is a daughter of woman he is friend with. Your Master agreed to bring me Holy Grail and in return she will go back to her—."

Suddenly, Berserker diasappeared and one of the walls become destroyed. Before Kariya could understand what is happening, something strange happened. Worms that were body for his 'father' started to fall apart. But what surprised him the most was that his 'face' didn't change the moment Berserker disappeared. As if he—

This worm is dead, human.

...What? How?

How is he dead, Berserker?! He is unkillable!

In a moment Berserker appeared again.

"His body is 'unkillable'. But real he is just an insect. His smell was differnt from bugs in you and this 'body'. I crushed him before he could do anything."

Matou Kariya was surprised. For Berserker being able find and kill Zouken, and for the fact he didn't feel his Servant taking mana from him. And he was happy for both of them

"Leave this place human. I am going disinsect it." Kariya obeyed. With remaining strengh he had after summoning he ran towards exit. When he passed and closed a door Berserker started his massacre. Kariya could feel his Servants power and desire to destroy from here.

"Uncle Kariya?" From the other side of the corridor, little girl called him. "What was this noise? Is everything all right?" Her words were full of worry but her voice was completely without emotion.

Kariya approched little Sakura and when she was close enough he hugged her. He gave the tightest hug he could give while his tears were running. "Everything is great, Sakura! You soon will meet your family again!"

"But grandpa said that—"

"My friend already 'talked' to Zouken. He will never ever bother us!"

Hearing this words from crying man made Sakura's heart filled with something. Something forgotten. But not unpleasent. Kariya understand that when his shoulder started to get wetter.

"Promise uncle Kariya?"

Kariya sit on one knee to be on the heigh with her and look at her watered eyes.

"Promise."
