A Spy's life Reboot EP 16: Mystery of the Vanishing

I don't own anything excpet my OCs.

In a subway, a trio of conductors were testing out something as they heard a train coming, pulling up to the station as the conductor driving it spoke to his buddies. "This is Joe Green of Station 9942. Looks like we're ready to reopen. I'm bringing her home." The train pulls out and moves down the tunnel. But just then, a red and white glowing light appeared in front, surprising the conductor! "What the heck?" Suddenly, the light flashed brighter, causing alarm with the others as a cloud of smoke engulfed the tunnel, making them run towards it, only to their shock, the train and its conductor disappeared entirely!

Intro:

The screen is black, only for a bolt of green lightning to makes a flash of white light as upbeat music is heard.

Ben stands as he is smirking at the camera as a black with green bubbles background is behind the tween, making the boy raise both his arms and shows off his new Omnitrix and then slaps down with a grin, making a flash of light.

"BEN 10!"

"He's a kid and he wants to have fun!"

Upgrade with hands on hips appears as a close-up of his face shows up in the background as a bolt of lightning comes down.

Big Chill flies across and freezes as the same thing happens to Swampfire, leaping out of an explosion.

"But when you need a superhero, he gets the job done!"

"BEN 10!"

Shock Rock smashes his fists together, sending out waves of electricity that affects the 4th wall.

"With A device that he wears on his arm."

"He can change his shape and save the world from harm!"

Ben poses with his Omnitrix, just as headshots of Shock Rock, Water Hazard, Big Chill and Swampfire show up, one-by-one.

Rath was staring at Grey Matter, who hopped along a bunch of platforms with the watch symbol on it as the tiger alien was confused before it turned into rage as he held his head in anger.

"When trouble's taking place."

Ben was then running towards the screen.

"He gets right in it's face!"

"BEN 10!"

Humungousaur, Slapback, Fasttrack and Upgrade's headshots show up as well!

A green circuit board background is shown as 5 aliens show up in a row as Ben was staring at the 4th wall as his right side is shown. The aliens are Shock Rock, Fasttrack, Rath, Swampfire, and 4 Slapbacks.

"When lives are on the line."

The same thing happens with his left side as more aliens appear. The aliens are now: Big Chill, Water Hazard, Grey Matter, Humungosaur, and Upgrade, which is still in normal form.

"It's hero time!"

"BEN 10!"

It ends with Ben and Alex, standing side to side with crossed arms and smirks as well as Normie and Madison on Ben's side and Sam and Clover on Alex's side the title appears above.

At Beverly Hills Jr. High, Ben was waiting in line for lunch with Normie. The Omnitrix boy got his food and heads over with his best friend to a table. But as Ben was about to eat, he noticed the blonde was staring off with a goofy grin. "Uhh… Normie? Are you okay?" He looks back to see Megan, giggling with some new girlfriends as she is wearing a red, cheerleading outfit with a white skirt. She has red shoes with white socks that extend to her knees.

"Doesn't Megan look cute in her new cheerleader outfit?" Normie sighs out as Ben nudges him. "Then go and talk to her, dude! She knows who you are, and she and her brothers are totally cool about the alien thing." Ben points out as he bites into his cheeseburger as Normie groans out. "I wish! Everyone knows the cheerleader table is reserved for cool, popular and star athletic people. And we are none of the 3. Besides, I think Tony and Marc are about to learn the hard way." Normie points at the brothers, who were trying to flirt with the other cheerleaders as Tony tries to show off his muscles while Marc uses his brain power, hoping to wow them with his intelligence.

"HEADS UP!" Jacob shouted as he knocked Marc and Tony away, sending the boys tumbling into a trash can with their legs sticking out. "Hey, check it out! 2 points!" "HAHAHAHA!" The other jocks laughed as did a couple of other kids as the cheerleader looked concerned at the Clark brothers' safety. "Nice try, Tony, Marc!" Normie calls out.

"Don't sweat it, dude. If you ask me, crushes are nothing but trouble and heartache." Ben states as he starts drinking his chocolate milk. Normie raises an eyebrow in response. "How do you know about them?" Ben widens his eyes as he spits out his milk, coughing for a bit as his friend was surprised. "Uhhhhh….." "Sorry, Ben. You're a nice guy. But... You're just not my type. That was before you… became you. I kind of like that Werewolf form. I figure I can train you, tame you." "The thing about crushes, is that sometimes you can get crushed."

"I…. just know about these things from my sister!" Ben grins out with a bit of sweat. Just then, the nearby trash can suddenly WOOHPs them away with no one noticing, sending them screaming through the tunnels as they fell on the coach. "Greetings, you 2. Hope you managed to fill up on lunch before I called you."

"We just finished, Jerry." Ben replies as they both get up and recover, noticing Maddie is with them. "Hey, guys. Jerry called me here but was nice enough to give me a helicopter ride!" "WHAT?! How come she gets a nice ride, and we get the crazy slide?!" "Because being the President's daughter has her perks!" She grins as she sticks her tongue out as the blonde growls with anger, imaging himself grinning as he activates a rocket she's tied to, sending her flying as she screams.

"All right, children." Jerry spoke, interrupting the trio and getting their attention. "Now for the reason I called you here." Jerry brought up a display of the conductor that disappeared, showing his profile. "I'm sending you 3 to Boston to investigate the disappearance of a Subway train and it's conductor, Joe Green. His last radio transmission was a horrifying scream. And since we detected some strange energies there and you 3 had experience with the Supernatural, we're sending you to investigate."

"Okay… that definitely sounds like up our alley." Ben comments "Question is: Who or what would want to steal a whole train?" Normie spoke out with a confident look and a finger in the air at Madison's question. "I know what did this!" "If you say, "Underground Toxic Monsters", then forget it!" The blonde deflates from Ben's snark. "Either way, that's why I'm sending you 3 in. But first: A surprise!" Jerry smiles as he taps a few buttons, making 2 cylinders drop down on Ben's friends, surprising him as something is happening on the insides.

After a while, the machines came up, revealing the 2 kids in new suits! They both have spy suits, like the girls, only they are more armored! They have darker colored chest plates, knee pads, boots, shoulder pads and streamlined gauntlets with their fingers exposed, but covered in a black under suit, like fingerless gloves. Normie's color is Light Steel Blue and Maddie's is the same color of her hair. "WHOA!" "COOL!" "Sweet!" The kids were amazed by the new suits.

"You're very own, WOOHP suits! Armored reinforced, due to your smaller bodies and for encountering paranormal beings with enhanced strength, or sharp objects in their possession. The left forearm contains built in computers for hacking, communication and research. The belts are the Standard Issued-Bungie Belts, and the boots allow you to magnetize to any metal built on the wall or ceilings, allowing you to stick to them, like the suction cup bottom Gogo boots. And finally, the right forearm contains a built-in Stun laser, then can immobilize any villain or creature with one blast."

"Cool! Hey! How does it work?" Normie asked, poking at his right arm, only to fire off a red energy beam that nail Jerry, causing him to be electrified, sending him on his back at the 3 stares with wide eyes and busted looks on their faces. "Uhh…. Never mind! Found it." Normie smiles with a weak grin as Jerry pulls up and narrows at them with a frown as smoke came off his head.

At Boston, the kids have arrived as they confronted the guards. "Hey there! We're the people from WOOHP! Heard you guys got a mystery." Ben smirks as he flashes his I.D badge. They went down and met the head conductor. "Well, I'm glad they sent someone over, but aren't you all a little young to be agents?" "Yes. Yes, we are." Ben responds as Maddie takes over. "So, what happened?" The man explains as the kids listened. "Wait! So, the train just…. vanished after entering the tunnel?" Normie questions in confusion as well as the others. "That's right. And other than a few workers going missing over the years, nothing else has been strange."

The kids ponder as they glances at one another. "It's possible they just quit and never told anyone?" "Maybe…. Although with the whole 'Eloise' disappearance, I doubt it." The man responds to the young girl as the kids looks confused at the name. "Eloise? Who's that?" But Maddie's question was interrupted as the man answers a call. "Sorry, got to go check a break-down. Catch up with you later." As the man left, Normie and Ben glanced at the sealed off tunnel, heading towards it as Maddie comments. "Well, so much for getting everything. Guess we should—Hey, what are you 2 doing?"

"Investigating. Something tells me the answers aren't at the station." Ben answers. "We shouldn't just rush into things! Who knows what could be there?" Normie smirks out. "Okay, let's vote. All in favor of going into the dark tunnel?" The boys raised their hands. "All opposed?" Maddie weakly raises her hands as the boys smile. "Motion passed; we're heading in." "Anytime you want to catch up, Maddie, be our guest!" Ben calls as they hopped over the barrier. After a few mins thinking to herself, Maddie decides to do the only logical thing. "Wait up, guys! Don't leave me!"

As Maddie crept into the dark tunnel, worried as her friends haven't answered, she can't help but feel worried as something is watching her. "Hello? Ben? Normie? Are you there?" "Maddie… Maddie… Maddie…" The girl whirls around to hear the whisper, getting worried as she shakily raises her right arm to aim the laser. She felt a tap on her shoulder and looks back, seeing nothing as she felt another tap. "GAAHHH!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The girl scream out as Grey Matter surprised her by leaping on her face, quickly leaping onto a grinning Normie's hand.

"Gotcha! HAHAHAHA!" The alien grins out as the blonde laughs with tears coming out of his eyes. "Oh man! You should see your face!" The girl calms down before getting an annoyed look as she grinds her teeth. "Oh…. You boys are so stupid!" She stomps away in a huff, only to trip and fall. "Oh…. That's got to hurt." The alien grimaces out. "It didn't. Thanks to these new suits. And the track is all uneven, hench, why I tripped." Grey Matter noticed some gunk on the broken track, hopping off to get a look as his alien brain went to work. "Hmm… Because it's melted. " He took a simple and felt it, analyzing the texter of the goo.

"It seems to be some sort of volcanic ash. And it appears to be incredibly old by thousands of years." "So, there's an eruption down here that's centuries old? That doesn't even make sense!" Just then, in response to Madison's statement, an earthquake, followed by steam and red lines forming on the ground startles the group. "I'll tell you what doesn't make sense, Maddie! All this is happening out of nowhere! RUN!" Normie cries out as the trio tries to run as fast as their legs can carry, trying to escape only for a cloud red smoke to engulf and a flash of the same color light to teleport them away.

A swirling green vortex opens up as the kids screamed, tumbling out down on the ground as they groan, while the portal disappears. "What just happened?" Normie groans out as Ben asked out. "Is everyone okay?" "Okay as we can be, considering we were in Boston and now we're…. who knows!" Maddie spoke as they noticed there strange environment. The trio then noticed the sky. "Uhh… I know the most I get with science is a 'C+' in school. But I'm pretty sure Earth never had 3 red moons!" Normie points out as ben answers. "That's because we're not on Earth!"

Maddie then decides to try the communicator. "Hello? Jerry? Can you hear us?" But all she gets is static. "We must be out of range." "Great! Not only we're lost, but now I can't call Megan!" The girl got an annoyed look as she spoke. "Normie! We're stuck in some strange place and all you care about is chatting with Megan Clark?!" "Well, she is really cute!" Maddie was about to throttle the blonde when, Ben, who is exploring, saw something! "Guys! Check this out!"

They all were amazed by the sight of 2 trains! One is a modern subway version while the other is an old-fashioned steam powered one. As the kids check the steam train, they noticed cursive writing on the side, saying an interesting name. "So, Eloise was the name of this old train, huh?" Madison ponders out. "Check out this stuff! Looks like it was sucked through the same portal we did." Ben spoke as they looked at the scattered things as the Omnitrix welder adds out. "But where are the owners?" "Same place where Joe Green is, by this badge." Normie spoke as he showed the item. "His I.D. badge! He was here."

"Hello!" The trio were startled, whirling around into fighting stance, only to relax when they saw a 40's woman with strange retro clothing and purple hair. "You kids must be new here. Welcome, I'm Mrs. Applebye." The kids spoke to her as they relaxed as Ben breaths out. "Boy! Are we glad to see someone!" "Yeah! I thought we were the only ones here!" Maddie spoke out as Normie adds out. "By the way: 2 things. 1: Where are we? And 2: have you seen a man named Joe Blue, by any chance?" "Well get to that. But first, let's feed you kids! You must be starving from your journey." The woman turns and walks way as the 3 kids shared confused glances.

Night as fallen as the team is now in a surprising retro-yet-stylish house. The kids glanced at a teen girl with orange curly hair and a man with brown hair, both wearing the same clothes as the Mrs. "I hope you kids are hungry. My wife's the best cook around!" "Around where?" "Nowhere town?" Ben adds to Maddie as the woman sets down a pan. "I made my special Pot Roast, Candied Hams and Green Peas. Now who's tummy I can tempt first?" As soon as she opens it and shows the food, the smell hits Normie's noise and he starts drooling. "It's not Burgers or Hot Dogs, but it smells so good!"

The teen, Marsha, adds out. "What makes the Roast special, kids. Are the secret ingredients. "Okay…. That's a weird topic to say." Ben mumbles out. "Quick Question: Why are there 3 red moons in the sky? Don't that bother you people?" Madison asks as the Applebyes glanced at each other as the woman smiles. "Enough chatting at the table. Let's put away our words and pick up forks! Everyone, dig in!" The kids decide to roll with it to not cause a scene.

Later at night, The kids were all asleep in a guest room, snoring away when a clock alarm woke Madison up with a startle, making her glance around to see something is wrong, making her flick the lights on and shake the boys awake. "Ben! Normie! Wake up!" "Wahhh?" "Huh? Is it Saturday?" "We've been asleep for hours, guys!" The girl explains out loud as the boys rubs there eyes. "What happened? Last thing I remember I was eating Roast and I blacked out." Normie adds out to his best friend. "Me too…. How did we get here, at all?" "I have the feeling our nap is because of Mrs. Applebye's 'secret ingredients'." Maddie frowns with crossed arms, getting the boys onboard. "Let's look around for clues. I'm sure the Applebyes are hiding something."

They all searched the room when Normie spotted something. "Hey! It's a family photo." They all gathered around. "'Happy Sweet 16, Marsha.' Is it me or is there something off about this picture?" Ben question, only for Maddie to spot the date. "Guys! This is dated 1962! Which means, Marsha hasn't aged in over 47 years!" "As a guy who once visited the future, I want to say that there is no way they would have the technology to look young for 47 years. But it would explain why they kind of dress like Grandpa Max." Ben points out. "And her parents are the same too! Like they're stuck in the 60's." "Okay! How can a family stop aging for 47 years?" Normie question out to the purple haired kid. "Don't know. But see if we can find anything else."

They went back to searching, only for Maddie to find something in a drawer. "Look! Train tickets from 1962! And not just any train." "Don't tell us: The Applebyes were passengers on Eloise." Ben frowns out. "Funny how that name keeps showing up, every time disappearances are involved." Normie ponders out.

But just then, a rumble got their attention as the room shook as everything became bathed in a red glow. "It's the train tunnel, again!" Normie cries out, only for Maddie to spot something out the window as she went wide eyed! "Uhh… its worst then that!" The boys glanced and were surprised at seeing the Appleybye's, now acting evil as they drag a struggling Joe Green away. "Help! Help me!" "We got to get out of here!" Maddie cries out as Ben tries to open the door, but was locked! "It's locked! From the outside!" Ben adds out as he leaps back and dials the Omnitrix. "Stand back!" FLASH

The door was smashed down by a clawed fist as Rath stomped out. "Let me tell you something, previousally locked door that is now a bunch of splinters: Rath does not like being locked up at all!" They all rushed out to see nothing. "We need to find them, pronto!" "But where?" Rath glances around and notices some tracks. "There! Hop on Rath's back and Rath will track the culprits down with his noise!" The trio rushed off through the thick trees, heading straight towards the volcano. They had arrived at a drop into a red glowing pit. "Guess we're climbing down." "Who said anything about climbing down?" Rath grins out at Maddie's words as he leaps down, as the kids screamed from the fall.

The trio kept walking until they gasped in surprise at seeing Joe Green, on a ledge over a lava pit. "Hey! That's Joe Gree! We have got to help him!" Ben spoke. "Wait! Look." Maddie points at the Applebyes, standing in front of the Lava as the woman spoke out. "I sure hope you're hungry." "I don't need to tell you; my wife is the best cook around!" The kids hide behind a rock as they peek out as Maddie whispers out. "Who are they talking to? Cause I'm quite sure they're not talking to Joe." "I don't know, the lava pit? What is up with this weird family?" Ben responds back.

Just then, a growling caught their attention. "What was that?!" Madison exclaims. "Sounds like growling." "Yeah. From my stomach." They both glanced back at Normie, holding his stomach in discomfort. "I had too much roast, and I think it's kicking back at me." "Well..." The trio gasped at being discovered. "Looks like we have some uninvited guests." "RUN!" Ben exclaims as the kids rush out as Maddie and Normie turn back and fires stun lasers, making the Applebyes take cover as they put distance between them.

They stopped at a large wall as they took breaths as the girl points out. "Nowhere to go, but up." "We could really use Big Chill for this, dude!" "On it!" Ben responds to Normie as he transforms into the moth as he grabs his friends and flies up high, only for the trio to be surprised at the sight! The land island they are on is in a bubble, floating in an endless void and surrounded by similar floating, bubble islands.

The alien mumbles out as Normie exclaims. "Okay… didn't see this coming." "What sort of freaky place is this?!" Big Chill flies back to the Volcano as he spoke. "Don't know. And hopefully, let's not find out." The blonde smiles out. "Well, as long as your Big Chill, we can avoid those crazy, creepy Applebyes!" BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP "Uh oh!" "Don't tell us..." Maddie deadpans. FLASH "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" CRASH The kids all groan with swirl eyes as they piled on each other in the crash.

Unfortunately, this led to their capture as the kids came onto the ledge and were all staring down in fear at the Lava. "Tsk, tsk, tsk! I'm afraid your behavior has made Zook terribly angry! And after all our hard work to keep him happy. Oh, well! You'll get what you deserve!" Mrs. Applebye turns to her family with a smile. "Now, Applebyes. Who's ready for pie?" "Me!" The family left as Joe asked the kids. "Can someone please tell me, what's going on?" "Let's find out." Ben nods at the girl, making her realize it's time for the Legendex.

She activates her suit's holo-computer and pulls up the app, typing the name Mrs. Applebye spoke of. "Got a match! Zook is the name of an ancient dragon that has lived since the Babylonians. He's been feeding off the life force of humans for thousands of years." "Which could explain why all the passengers of Eloisa disappeared, all those years ago." Normie points out as Joe asked. "Eloisa? As in the train that disappeared in 67?"

"Yeah! And the Applebyes were one of the passengers, as well." Maddie ponders at the Omnitrix wielder's words. "Which can explain why they haven't aged for years or haven't been feasted upon by Zook! They must have cut a deal with him!" Ben glances up as the 3 red moons aligned with each other. "And I'm guessing the red moons lining up is the dinner bell."

Suddenly, a growling sound with a rumble was heard and felt. "Normie, please tell us that's your stomach, again?" "No… This time, that's Zook's!" He whimpers out at his best male friend as he points at the lava. The lava kept boiling and bubbling as a huge figure shot out, making the group scream in panic at Zook himself! Zook is a massive dragon, about 5 feet taller than Humungousaur, has dull red scales with a golden underbelly and green eyes with multiple spikes around it's head. The being roars out loudly as it glares down at the human, leaning forwards as the other dodged out of the way.

Just then, Maddie and Normie both noticed a big rock, making them glance at each other and nod, firing their new bungee belts at the rock and yanking them down, sending it crashing on top of Zook and knocking him back into the lava. "Quick thinking, guys!" Ben thanked as Madison responds. "Thanks! Hopefully, that can buy us some time." "Yeah! Just got to keep away from Zook until dinner time is over!" Normie points out as they both fire their bungees up the cliff, securing them as they all start to climb up, reaching the top.

Only for Zook to burst out and fly up landing in front and roaring out. "That's it! Take Joe somewhere else, I'm going to teach scaley some table manners!" Ben spoke out as the 3 others ran off as he ran towards Zook. "Hey, scales for brains! You wanna eat something?!" He leaps up and slams down on the watch, turning into Humungousaur and landing a punch that knocks Zook back. "How about a prehistoric knuckle sandwich!?"

Zook recovers and roars, breathing fire as the alien blocks with his arms. He then slams his tail against the dragon and then sends out a sonic blast. But the beast recovers as it tries body slamming the alien dinosaur, but Humungousaur managed to catch it and throws it into some rocks that broke. But Zook quickly swung his tail and knocks Humungousaur back. Zook then breathed more fire as the alien dinosaur got pushed back into other rocks, burring him as he dug himself out as he glared at the dragon as the beast glares back, snorting it's nostrils. The alien dinosaur then cracks his knuckles as the dragon extends it's claws and scraps it against the ground

Zook roars again as he notices the humans, going for them as the alien quickly runs over and grabs him by the tail. "Oh no you don't!" He looked up to see the moon was almost split. Humungousaur then starts spinning Zook round like a tornado and throws him into the moons. "Sweet! Think I set a new record for that." Just then. an explosion came barreling down as the alien quickly shielded the others as they were engulfed.

Back in the Subway tunnel, the same light portal opens as Humungousaur rolls and crashes onto the ground, uncurling himself as all 3 humans were unscathed and covered in volcano soot. "Whew… alien dinosaur: 1! Ancient dragon: 0!" The kids both grin at the statement, glad to be safe and back.

Later, everything was back to normal as Ben was with his friends. "Guess you were right! With no life force to feed on, Zook couldn't sustain himself." "Yep! Glad his thousand-year feeding frenzy is over and no more people will be disappearing anytime soon." Ben smirks out at Madison as Jerry spoke out. "Well done, kids! I say this new 'WOOHP paranormal hunters' team is a success! Good job." With him in custody is the aged Applebyes, now no longer having Zook to keep them young. "Everything was so perfect until you came along." "For you, maybe. But I think all those people that disappeared have something to say." Ben smirks out with crossed arms at the aged Marsha.

Just then, A subway train pulls up as Joe Green spoke in his microphone. "Joe Green checking in to Station 9942. Looks like we're ready to reopen." Jerry took them onboard as the train pulled away as the kids watched. "Well, that took care of this mystery." "Yeah… But I'm still bummed out at missing out to talk to Megan." Normie frowns out with crossed arms.

Just then, his communicator went off as he answered. "Hello?" "Hi, Normie? It's Megan. Listen, I was wondering if you're free Saturday. We can hang out at the mall!" Normie was stunned beyond belief as he quickly shook his head and got a big grin. "Sure. SURE! I'm totally free Saturday! Laters!" Normie shuts off as he smugly spoke to his stunned friends' faces. "Guess who's going to hang out with a cheerleader, Saturday?" He rushed out to the stairs as he leaped up with his fist in the air. "YEAH!"
